I've been eyeing this place for a week or so because it delivers to my workplace. I finally decided to give it a chance on a day when it was pretty impossible for me to leave to grab lunch. I ordered the chicken Pad Thai with a side salad and an iced tea. At first I thought the portion size seemed small. However, it was the perfect amount of food for lunch. Just enough to keep you full and your energy sustained while not sending you into a food coma. Also, there was a surprise spring roll that came with my order which really was a high point of my day (don't judge me for the lack of excitement in my 9-5). The spring roll was delicious and the pad thai was pretty good as well. The chicken was on the verge of dry, but overall not too bad. The iced tea came in a HUGE cup and was also pretty good, if you like unsweetened iced tea. My main complaints had to do with the delivery and not the food itself. It took about 10-15 minutes longer than estimated for my food to arrive. Also, the driver did not follow the delivery directions I had specified in the order, so I had no idea where he was located in the building when he called for me to pick-up my food from him. Luckily someone who knows me saw him and offered to bring the food to me. But had that person not run into the delivery driver, who knows how long it may have taken to get my food. read more

When there on a Friday night and the food was so good. Really liked everything there, especially the coconut ice cream. Food was quickly cooked and sit down was prompt. Also love the attached private parking lot. Super convenient for the campus area. read more

This food put simply was not great. We ordered on DoorDash and they somehow had 4.7 stars (definitely inflation here) and were pretty disappointed with what we got. I would call this standard, non-offensive, and basic Thai but the issue with it is the price point for the quality. I expected much higher quality considering the price. I would definitely pay max $10 a dish and be satisfied but with the prices they charge the quality should be much better. The "thread" noodles (glass noodles) were slimy and lacked flavor. My partner got Pad Thai and could only describe it as if it was Pad Thai that someone rinsed in water before packaging. read more

I don't know who you've become or who you think you are. But if your restaurant is only 1/4 full don't say there's a 15 minute wait. Used to be a regular customer so much for that. It's also a Monday. Good luck handling a weekend. We left by the way and didn't wait. read more

I ordered: Tofu and Vegetables in Hot Chili Sauce and it was not spicy at all. The sauce was watery and sickly sweet. The tofu was overcooked and shriveled. The upside is the veg (broccoli most notably) were fresh with just the right crisp. Meat and Shrimp with Indian Curry: Like the above, the vegetables were fresh (broccoli most notably) but the curry was not spicy at all. The description describes it as spicy and it isn't. I found the sauce to be bland. Will I order again? No. If you want spicy as most of the menu items depict, order extra spicy. read more

Came here to support a local small business and fulfill my Thai cravings. Looking at the reviews it looked very promising, so I had to give it a try. Service was fast and friendly, seating us outside per COVID protocol. The food, however, was not up to par. Serving sizes are a joke...if your going to charge $10 for food, it should not be half the tiny container. Flavors of both were bland and diluted, was not impressed. I do not like to give bad reviews, especially during covid times, but honesty is everything. I do not recommend going here for Thai food. The portion and pricing does not compete with other Thai restaurants in Austin. read more

Ordered delivery which was late and came without any utensils. The food itself is very meh save for the green curry which was decent. A recap: 1. Green curry with chicken: Solid with a nice spicy kick and a decent portion of sliced chicken. The shredded bamboo shoots tasted canned though and the zucchini was very sparse. 2. Pad Khee Mao: Skip. Salty, dry, and very greasy. Definitely lacking in flavor but abundant in salt. 3. Ground pork, bean sprouts, and potatoes omelette: Skip this. This was so salty that I could barely swallow a bite. When I'm in the mood for tofu pad thai, I frequent Thai Kitchen. It's nearby, has parking, always has excellent service, and is so delicious. Their tofu has a great texture and consistency to it, that some other restaurants fail to get right. They also have really good spring rolls and egg rolls with plenty of options for vegetarians. I had a similar experience when I sat in. Small portions and I decided to try their lunch special with pad kee mao. Was just okay. The vegetarian egg roll was fine (like any other place, nothing special). The coconut and chicken soup was okay. The main dish, the noodles were great but the chicken was pretty bland. Tasted like it was just unfrozen and the seasoning and sauce was just on the outside. I think I'll be sticking with Madam Mams. Even though the taste is not as good there, I love the portion sizes :) read more

Thai Kitchen is my new favorite Thai place! I was so pleasantly surprised by the vegan pad Thai - there are rarely such well-labeled and readily available vegan options at not explicitly vegan places so it was nice to be able to relax and just order something. Even more, it was fabulous! So flavorful - a perfect balance of sweet, savory, salty, and peanutty(?). My dad highly recommends the mussaman curry and can't help but order it every time - it smelled delicious. The tofu satay was also recommended by my dad and it was PHENOMENAL. They are so perfectly cooked and heavily seasoned but in the best way, and perfectly balanced with the peanut sauce. They made me feel like I was receiving a warm hug. The prices are very reasonable, and though I've only ever had takeout, I look forward to having more experiences dining in. Thanks Thai Kitchen! read more

I've only gotten to-go orders here and they consistently get my food done within 15 minutes. As someone who wants food the moment I feel hungry, I appreciate how quickly they prepare my favorite dish: Pad Thai with chicken. This seems to be one of their more popular dishes. The Pad Thai is surprisingly creamy and sweet. For some people, this is off-putting. If you're looking for something savory, then you probably won't like this. I happen to love the sweetness! I have also tried the Pad Kee Mao (Drunken noodle), but I wasn't impressed. The texture felt undercooked and the flavor was a bit bland. It definitely wasn't as spicy as they made it out to be. If you're a real spice maniac, don't get too excited. For the price, I'm disappointed in the portion sizes. Maybe it's smaller for to-go orders, but I'm not sure... I still swing by to get the Pad Thai sometimes, but there are better Thai places in town. read more

I really hate giving out one stars.. but gosh what is everybody here on some different wavelength? There was people in there when I pulled up. I just wanted to order soup. It was only to go. I usually dine in, but given today's world I had to order my food for pick up. The women who worked there was so sweet. I was walking in assuming they were open for dine in, but they weren't. The women handed me menus and then took my order and was so sweet the entire time. It took maybe 10 mins most to receive my food once I ordered it and it was so fresh and good. They pack a whole lot of food in their to go boxes and they even had little sriracha sauces for to go orders. Reasonable prices and delicious flavors. My mom introduced me to this place back when they were located on Wm Cannon and I've been going to Thai Kitchen ever since. The drunken noodles are spicy and delicious. My favorite is the veggie tom kha soup with extra mushrooms. You can customize heat levels for most of their menu items too. For dessert try the coconut ice cream and coconut cream cups you won't be disappointed. read more

It's simply the best Thai in Texas. Been coming since the 80's, even when we moved away I still come here when we visit. Kind of a hole in the wall. My favorites are the Thom ka soup, chicken w no cilantro. I love their Chicken Wings (omg) it's sticky sweet delish. And I also love the Pad naw gui-chicken or Pad moo naw mai pork ground stir fry w bamboo shoot strips, eggs, jalapeños. And many others. Cut and paste to your notes and order these. Oh, plain fried wontons, pour some soy sauce on those! read more

This is literally the worst thai food i have ever had. Got on grub hub, the pad thai was inedible. Like maybe they don't use real eggs? Bean sprouts and basil were brown. Green curry fried rice was dry and horrible. "Cucumber salad" was warm pieces of cucumber in like sugar and vinegar only? Disappointed in this place. One of the more expensive delivery on Uber eats. Our beef dish is pink and uncooked. Our chicken dish is swimming in oil. And Our soup is full of uncooked mushrooms. I will absolutely never order from this place again. Very sad by this dinner. read more

Authentic. Inexpensive. Delicious. Do you really need to read anything else on this review to know that it is good enough to make visit. I have been coming here for a few years. I don't live in the UT area, but this has to be my consistently favorite Thai restaurant. Food is always fresh, the wait is NEVER long, and they do it RIGHT. Love their hours. They are open until midnight. The menu is freaking incredible. They just remodeled so it looks so much nicer The owner is always friendly, as well as the rest of the staff. The dishes are plentiful. Last night I got something with the word "Cry" in it. I am a spice fanatic, and hell yea I was crying. Stuff was spicy! but I ate every single bite! There really isn't a bad thing I can say about this restaurant other than the fact that I always want to order a minimum of 4 meals because I can never make up my mind. You cannot go wrong here! The reason they have the best Pad Thai is because the type of Noodle they use. It's a special Thai rice noodle call, Sen-Jun, the texture is a bit more chewy, how it was in the olden days in Thailand. Hardly any Thai restaurant uses it because it costs a lot more, but this is a gem. The service is wonderful and so friendly. They seem to know a lot of the customers well and makes u feel welcome. The ingredients were fresh, the sauce and noodles were great! It was a decent sized meal which I appreciated as we had a very busy day ahead of us with shopping and being tourists and this meal was one of virtually all of the meals in Austin to be great to outstanding!

Thai Kitchen is one of the better Thai places around UT campus. Their prices are reasonable (they recently raised their prices) for a nice helping of food that'll leave you stuffed. My favorite is their pad thai, so much so I get really weird pad thai cravings now. My boyfriend always tries something different when he's there. With every large menu comes some hit and misses, especially with foreign food. Tiger Cry is a good one, although it smells a bit weird cause of the bamboo and stuff. It offers a mixture of sweet and tangy then BAM! spices are exploding in your mouth. It was an awesome dish discovery. If the entrees don't tie you over, get their coconut ice cream with sticky rice or mango with sticky rice. I would buy 5 and eat that for dinner if I could. One thing I should make very clear: If you are looking for waiters to coddle you with sweet cordial attention you will not find it here. I don't say this in a bad way, I actually prefer it when I don't have a waiter walking by every 5 minutes. TK waiters will come by and fill your water and check on you here and there, but they also give you your personal space to eat in peace. This may come off as rude to some people, I don't really care. They're open late, and for this I love them. Mind you, my rating would be higher if I had more of a stomach for extremely spicy food. My sweetie is a hot pepper-oholic and would probably give Thai Kitchen 4 or 5 stars. They are definitely consistent. We love the ol' folks that run the place. I always get the chicken 3A or the chicken 22 (red curry with bamboo shoot or indian curry with cucumber) and my date always orders off the super-spicy menu (which uses "bird pepper", extremely hot). I love the names of the spicy dishes - Cry Now, Love and Cry, etc.. I could eat a gallon of their cucumber salad (puts Thai Passion's salad to shame). Their pad thai is not very good. You can tell the mastermind behind this place prefers the hot stuff. Although he did once tell me that he loved the Indian curry chicken which is relatively mild and what I order when I'm not feeling up for the "hot hot" red curry. I feel like they blow out the flavor of the red curry dish a little too much with the pepper. They do use good cuts of white meat chicken, but their portions are rather small for the price. Thai Kitchen is in my opinion the best Thai food in Austin. Thai Kitchen on the drag has the best soups in town! Most authentic Tom Yum and Tom Ka period!!!!! Their Pad Thai is very good as well. The Green and Red curries are like that of Grandma in Thailand. Thai Kitchen offers a deep and extensive selection, but the first page of the menu is all FIVE PEPPER dishes -- and when they say hot, they mean it. With names like "Hurts So Good" and "Crying Now," these choices are not for everyone, but if you can handle the heat, you will love Thai Kitchen. First of all the restaurant is always clean when I have visited here over the past 20 years. Staff has always been very attentive and helpful. I have never gotten a dish I didn't like. Maybe to spicy for me but they will adjust if you ask up front. I love their pad Thai here. Some say it's too sweet but it's my go to. Each time I come here I am greeted so warmly. The manager Olivia knows exactly what I want and orders it for me. She even brings my favorite drink to the table. My boyfriend and I came here because of the great reviews, but unfortunately our visit was nothing like we expected. From the moment we walked in, the experience was disappointing. The host literally pointed to our table instead of walking us to it, which immediately felt unwelcoming. No one introduced themselves or even told us who our server was, so we never knew anyone's name throughout the entire meal. Throughout our meal, no one checked on us even once, and we had to flag our waiter down multiple times whenever we needed something. Plates and drinks were also repeatedly slammed down on the table, which came across as rude and unprofessional. Every interaction felt rushed, and the staff acted like they were annoyed we were there. The customer service was awful, and it made for a really unpleasant first experience. Unfortunately, we won't be coming back.

The noodles were chewy and satisfying and didn't break apart like a lot of pad Thais I get. The sauce wasn't overly sweet, and had a great balance of sweet tanginess. I even feel like I could taste some sort of subtle smokiness that I normally don't get in pad Thai. They had my meal out in 10 minutes, and had friendly service. They offer the pad Thai, fried rice and curry as gluten free options if you ask. They were also attentive and gave me water when they saw that I was having my meal there.
