The food here is good. I really like their curries and the curry fried rice. The place would get a better rating, but there are a few set backs: If you are one for service, don't bother coming... the service is horrible. If you go during your lunch hour... well you better hope your lunch is longer than an hour. It will take them forever to take your order then forever to bring your order. They serve their water in metal cups and leave a little metal pitcher on your table. The idea is very cute, but it makes the water taste absolutely disgusting. Maybe its the cleaning solution they use, or just the metal, but whatever it is I can't stand to drink the water there. read more

Easily the best Thai food in Anchorage, very affordable and very veg friendly.

Always been a 5 star place, great customer service, great food, great atmosphere, always smells good too as soon as you walk in the door!

Came here at the tail end of the lunch rush with 3 friends. Our waitress acted like we were inconveniencing her day by being here. Our food to around 35 minutes for three of us to get our entrees, however, our 4th person didnt receive their meal for another 10 minutes. And when asked about it the staff wad really short with us. We sat, letting our food get cold as we watched other people (that got here a long time after us) got their food and she didnt. We will not be returning. read more

Normally the food is good but not this visit. Crunchy rice is not a good thing. Pad Thai was flavorless. Service not good.

Thai kitchen has one step forward on delivery fastest thai food I've had here. great for the quality and price

This restaurant is awesome! Atmosphere is very welcoming and relaxing. I have tried several items on the menu. My favorite dish is the vermicilli chicken salad with a thai iced tea. SO DELICIOUS!! The staff is very friendly, this is a family run business and you can tell. Service can be slow as they get very busy at lunch time (there is a to-go buffet available). I suggest going when you have at least an hour, very relaxing place to catch up with an old friend. read more

Surprised to see several poor reviews... Maybe not the BEST Thai food in town... but it's certainly not bad at all. I appreciate the fact that I can run in and run out, with good food, in a hurry. I'm often racing around from place to place so for that reason, I like this place. I found the staff to be quite friendly and polite. read more

Like Thai? This is the place to go. It's all about the food, friends & family here. The menu is huge and there is something for everyone even the most strict vegans. The prices are very fair especially for the amount of food you get. The food is delicious. The service is spot on and they aim to please. You cannot go wrong. Thai rolls, pad thai, veggie dishes...give it a whirl if you haven't already you won't be disappointed. read more

THE BEST thai food in ak. so cheap! so good! eggplant tofu is amazing, same with almost everything else they have. who cares that the service can be slow and most of the waiters are shy and dont say a word...the food is BOMB read more

I've been there twice and enjoyed both meals . However both times I asked for spicy and if anyone knows Thai spicy it's unbearably hot. This was a spicy level 3 on a scale of 1-10. Also be prepared to stay a long time as it was an hour both times before we got our food . read more

Hands down the best Thai food in Anchorage. Shu She Tofu is to die for. The restaurant is kind of lame, they could use a remodel. Service is mediocre, but it depends on the night. For me, the beat way to experience Thai Kitchen is to order your meal takeout and eat at home in front of the TV. read more

Ok Thai food fans. I ate here at the Thai kitchen for three days in a row while I was in ANC for training. I never dined in but called in my order and picked it up to eat back at the hotel. The Beef Panang Curry and Chicken Eggplant Special were BOOYA awesome! The Spicy Noodles were simply out of sight! I will eat there again. Only thing I would like to see improved is the use of Thai chili for heat instead of jalapenos... not a deal breaker though. read more

This place is great. I would put them in a tie with the other good Thai restaurant in Anchorage. Tom Yum seafood is too much food for one person. The service is good but there is always a line to pay the check at the register. The buffet/to go ordering creates a bottle neck because the same person was doing the buffet and the register. Thai Kitchen is a long time great in anchorage. We have been loyal customers for close to 20 years. We have never had a bad experience. read more

Best Red curry I ever had. Loved each and every bit of what I ordered - Chicken spicy which is Basil chicken , Red curry and sticky rice with ice-cream. The service was excellent and very warming . The prices are so reasonable with no taxes at all . Yes you heard it right - No taxes. Overall excellent experience . read more

Thai kitchen is my favorite Thai restaurant in Anchorage. The service is great and the food is delicious. It's a great little tucked away family restaurant. read more

Went with some friends today who said this was the best Thai in town... Actually it was the best Thai food I've had in Anchorage but didn't completely blow me away. I had the spicy chicken which was pretty tasty, but I was distracted by the grease running down the walls and general dirtiness of the restaurant. Long story short I will be back because the food was good but really wish the place wasn't so filthy! I was honestly too scared to even go in the bathroom for fear of what I would find! read more

I was just commenting about the consistency of Thai Kitchen. Consistently good food and bad service. Now both are bad. I had a Popeye dish with 6 leaves of spinach. It was watery and the peanut sauce was the worst. And they overcharged me. read more

Pretty good depending on what you order. Make sure you always ask for how spicy stuff is, sometimes things you think are spicy aren't and things that aren't are! Kinda sucks if you were expecting one or the other Service is pretty good. Prices average. Portions are usually decent but sometimes skimpy, it depends who's making your food I guess read more

Usually pretty good service and food are a given for this place. Today the food was both burnt and cold and the service was slow. It was during the rush hour, so I allowed for that. Still the service was really bad. read more

Ive been coming here for two decades and this is the best Thai in anchorage hands down. I have lived in Thailand and this is as good as it gets. The new menu items are AMAZING. Kow Soy (curry egg noodle spicy goodness) is the best thing on the menu. Olaf's special with crispy fried basil is amazing, and they still are the only Thai restaurant that makes veggie fried spring rolls in house not frozen. Thai Orchid and Lahn Pad Thai are good too, but Thai Kitchen is always the best! read more

Great food for excellent prices. Yes, service can sometimes be a bit slow - especially during rush times - but that can be easily accommodated by calling in "to go" orders ahead of time or modifying your schedule a bit to avoid the peaks. read more

The lunch combo is $9 for rice + 3 items. Food is just ok. It's cheap, and typical Thai American food.

Pad Thai was really good as was the combo rice Not a fan of the red curry at all. The Thai rolls were amazing!!

I was not impressed. This restaurant has great potential but is very far from it at the moment. Waitress was way too young to give good service. The floor was dirty and they have storage all over the restaurant. The food was OK definitely nothing special. I got broccoli chicken and the broccoli was undercooked with overcooked chicken. Definitely not worth what we paid. read more

Great food! Love eating here. I would highly recommend this place. I had the Pad Gra Prow Beef often! :) At least I hope I have the name right haha. read more

I love the Chicken Pat Thai. I love the Fresh Rolls. I love the peanut sauce. And I love the price! And as much as I love the aforementioned items, I do not love the hours. I do not love the location. And I least love the decor. This place has the best food, but the atmosphere leaves MUCH to be desired. That's why I mostly get my orders to go! read more

We got the vegetarian fresh rolls. Very tasty! We also got the ginger tofu and shu she. Both very good! Service was incredibly fast.

This place is close by the school and food comes out quickly. Price is reasonable and portions are good for big eaters such as myself. The curry is rich and flavorful, warm in the belly. Yum! read more

Good food, unique flavors, tastes fresh, could use a remodel though.

Ugh! If I wanted Carrs stir fry I would have gone there. I ordered take-out over the phone, was told it would be an hour. Fine, I'm too tired to cook and I just want Thai food. Not worth the wait. There is some sort of oil in the spicy chicken that makes it absolutely like stir fry from the deli. I also ordered the pad Thai, which just looked sad and coagulated all into one big lump. Plus they use jalapeños instead of Thai chilis- I cook enough Thai at home to know they are not difficult to get in anchorage, in fact they are incredibly cheap. For the price (~$11 a dish) I'm disappointed and will not eat here again unless the quality changes. At least they give you enough white rice? Two stars. read more

Thai Kitchen - Pad Thai with chicken - Thai Near Me - Anchorage, Alaska

See all

Went here for my first pad Thai experience and found a quality meal for a more than reasonable price. Great service and atmosphere.

I love thai kitchen! Always consistant. Sometimes, a long wait, but worth the wait. If taking carry-out, call ahead. Definitely try the popeye tofu.. read more

Still the best Thai food in town. The spring rolls are fantastic. We usually go with the garlic or asparagus chicken. There are no surprises when you eat here, the food is as good as it was in 1990 - the first time we ate there. The 3-5 PM closure is inconvenient, but it is still the "go to" Thai place in Anchorage.. read more

Cheap, good food. They remember our favorite every time! We always order Tom Ka, extra chicken, and Thai iced coffee. The girl even always remembers that we want the side of hot garlic sauce and peanuts!!! Great place. read more

Best massamon curry that I've ever had. Food is amazing and service is pretty good too. The atomosphere is interesting for sure. I had lived near the restaurant for months before finally venturing in. I was convinced that it was like a thai grocery store or something, just because it looks so weird on the inside. Regardless, they could have mexican themed wallpaper and wear sombreros and I'd still order the massamon curry. Stuff is amazing. read more

You have got to try the Shrimp Rolls! The first time we got six Shrimp Rolls, the 2nd time we went we got seven Shrimp Rolls...Sadly the third time we did not get eight Shrimp Rolls. Simply amazing with the sweet sauce they give you. I always get the Pineapple Curry, the Curry does not back down, but the pineapple picks you right back up. There is plenty of chicken, and is in equal ratio to the pineapple. Definitely recommend! read more

I used to love this place. The food is still pretty good, but they are so much less accommodating than they used to be. If you're in a pinch for time and want to order lunch in advance and eat in, they won't do that anymore. Alternatively, if you want to order takeout, the wait times can be 30 minutes or more. None of these is a dealbreaker in itself. But they now seem to have an attitude, almost a pride in being inflexible. It's too bad for what was once a really family-friendly place. read more

The customer service is not the best, but the gentleman that showed us to our table was nice. The food is delicious :)

Went here Friday night with my sisters to have dinner. It was pretty crowded, and there was 1 waitress for about 10 tables. It took awhile to place our order, not only did they get the order wrong twice but she never came back to check on us or refill our water or rice.It was not the best looking restaurant either. The environment was a little run down and dirty. I wouldn't go back. Food wasn't that good either. A little bland and small portions. I don't eat much but that plate left me hungry. read more
