My wife and I to to Thai Gusto as often as we can. We love the servers, and they treat is so we'll every time we show up. The food is spectacular as well. Best Thai food in and around Everett/lake Stevens for sure. I have tried many of the menu items with fried tofu (which they make perfectly) and it always is so great! This is probably one of the worst restaurants I've ever been to in my life... I came here a couple of months ago in October but never had the time to get this review up. My mom and I came to Everett for Skate America as spectators and in between events, we decided to eat out and this was the closest place that seemed decent. We arrived at around 4 pm and we were seated almost immediately which was nice. Now, I guess others had the same thought to come here and within minutes, the lobby of the restaurant was filled with people. The waitresses kept shuttling people in to eventually fill up the whole restaurant. I would be kidding if I said that less than 100 people were seated. It had been 45 minutes since we were seated and I could see that the people next to us were aggravated. We kept waiting. And waiting. And waiting. My mom and I are very patient but we ended up waiting more than 1.5 hours to order and get our food. I ordered the Chicken Pho (which wasn't a good idea since it's considered a thai restaurant) and my mom ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. Both of the dishes looked absolutely terrible. Just as I'm about to sip into my oily chicken pho, I see a fly. The waitress comes over to bring my thai iced tea (which I also ordered) and I told her that this is a fly in my soup and she told me that "That's not a fly" so I asked her, "Then what is it?" she didn't say anything and just walked away. The place overall needs some work is an understatement. Knowing that there is an international event located just a block away from your restaurant is a great chance to make money. Having your staff run back and forth from table to kitchen and kitchen to table and even having your CHEFS come out and serve the customers clearly means that you guys are understaffed!! The Pad Thai and Orange Chicken, however, were both very bland and they used way too much fish oil. I had to add some teriyaki sauce to really make it edible. After over two weeks waiting for a reply from Thai Gusto and after sending an email that I would be posting my review to Yelp reflecting my experience and no follow up from them. I got a reply! The owner stated he had been out of the country due to a family emergency, my email had gone to his junk mail, they had lost to two chefs....well the list goes on and while all of this is very unfortunate I'm sorry it took a second email and a Yelp review to get a reply. His resolution to my experience was a comped meal on our next visit. Which I may take him up on. He also stated that because they had lost chefs "it is very high possibility that our new cook forgot the portion that suppose to be because she had to run both service part and kitchen part". I received three emails showing appreciation for my business and apologies for the experience in one day. For that I'm giving them 2 stars. After competing in 5 Brazilian Jiu Jitsu tourneys and only had consumed a protein shake followed by coffee, I WAS STARVED. We sort of chose this place on a whim because everyone was hungry and we just needed something close that wasn't pizza or a burger. Coming in, this place seemed a little quiet, I figured it was because we were in Everett and not many people roam the streets here since surrounding places seemed a little empty too. It was a Saturday, it was roughly around lunch time so I was excited that this place was empty. Service was obviously quick and the wait staff were nice wholesome people that let us enjoy our food before rushing back to ask us how everything was. The food could have been really really good but some items were way too sweet. I ordered the Thai Iced Tea and it was almost sickly sweet - I couldn't finish it. We also ordered the cashew chicken, basil fried rice, and the pad khee mao. The cashew chicken and fried rice were delicious but the pad khee mao again was very very sweet. This is my favorite Thai place in the Everett area. They do delivery, to-go, and dine in. The quality has been great with each option. I went there for Massaman Curry which is my favorite curry. But the hostess insisted and talked me into trying their Avocado Curry instead and now when I go there that's all I get. Great food and service, I've been back many times now just for the Avocado Curry. Also if you're headed to a SilverTips Game it's warm and filling but not in a, "my stomach is gonna burst" way, you'll feel good and ready for cheating on some ice hockey! We dined last night before a concert at the arena (across the street). He had a group of people so tried about 6 different entrees. Everyone of them was delicious! My favorites were the panang, eggplant and crispy egg rolls. All the food was fresh and flavorful with nice portions. Thai Gusto? Much o Gusto? What the heck? Is this Thai or Mexican? Went here because it was a 2 hour wait next door at the Alligator Soul! I so wanted to try the Bananas Foster Beignets for dessert, oh such is life. So we figured, why not try this place. We should have known when next door was packed and had a waiting line, we should have taken a hint as to why this place had no such problem... (sigh) Walked in with a party of 6 and we got seated with no problem. The place is huge and can handle some seriously large parties with no problems. The interior is nice, a bit rustic in a Thai way..., although they had cloth napkins on the tables, it was clean, and well lit. We ordered 2 apps, fried tofu and crab puffs, the later was a tad bit better than Kona Kitchens, just for the fact I could taste the crab. The tofu was tasteless and had to be dipped into the accompanying sweet and sour sauce to allow it to register on the taste buds. One pescatarian, (eats only fish and shell fish protein), in the group so we opted for several tofu items instead of having meat in them, sadly the tofu used was the same one used in the appraiser, fried to death and tasteless. The yellow curry was outstanding, flavor-wise, but then again a minus star for the use of the tofu of death put into it, oh and the under cooked potatoes wasn't to my liking either but the curry sauce was a hit....is that possible? It also didn't help that our food took forever to come out of the kitchen and when it did some of it was cold. We sent back the curry dish because the sauce, which was the best part, was rather lacking in the amount served to us, I mean it barely covered the potatoes, it took forever for the dish to come back out and all they did was pour in some cold cocoa nut milk, heck they didn't even stir it in! You could see the swirl marks in the sauce! Oh, and a note to the kitchen, if someone sends something back at least put it back onto the flame, by pouring some cold cocoa nut milk into a dish, it makes the entire dish COLD!! DUH!!! I really tried to like the place, the servers where nice and helpful, I mean they really tried to make us and the table next to us happy. The table next to us they wanted their check at the same time their food showed up! I decided to try to figure out what was going on in the kitchen, using my sub-par ninja skills I realized the kitchen had 1 cook!! And she was only using 1 wok on 1 of the 6 burners on the stove!! HELLO!!! One wok, equals one dish being made at a time!! Hence the slow service and cold to tepid food. While the dishes were lacking in the amount served, but personally I think all Thai food is served that way, the flavors were solid. Really other than my general gripe about portion size, the flavors were outstanding, sad part of it is the use of bad tofu and the cold pork , pre-cooked and put into the Refer? It's hard to give them a second chance, since we don't live that close to Everett and our fav Thai place is a lot closer. Try take out maybe, that way you can re-heat all the food at home before you dig in! read more

Decided against the copious food offerings around the Everett Events Center (pizza, New Orleans/southern, pizza, American, healthy Mexican, pizza) for Thai Gusto, completely on a whim Thursday night. Thai Gusto is housed in a large, well-decorated space. The walls are painted tropical colors (Yellow, Burgundies, Green, ironically just shades away from the Yellow-Purple-Green at Alligator Soul next door) and they've done a good job with a giant 3-d wall mural and dried noodles, flowers, chiles pressed in glass surrounding the waiting area up front. Service was fast and friendly, probably some of the best I've received during my week stay in Everett. The server took our order quickly, brought drinks before I could blink, and promptly refilled our water glasses multiple times. I ordered the fresh spring rolls which included lettuce, basil, cellphane noodles, carrots, fried tofu, and something crunchy. Two rolls cut into four pieces (~$5) came with two sauces - a sweet soy sauce that was mostly flavorless and a sweet peanut sauce. I usually eat shrimp/pork rolls, and this was a nice change, well rolled, and the peanut sauce was great. As my entree I had the green curry with chicken ($8.50) and a side of rice. I can't recall if the rice was extra, but the waitress did ask me specifically if I wanted rice so perhaps that was the case. The curry was great, a little spicy but not overpowering, sweet and coconut-y (perhaps a bit sweeter than I'm used to, but the other flavors in the curry evened it out), and a good service of chicken, green peppers and bamboo shoots. My dining companion had the crab delight and noodles, ordered extra spicy and eliciting a "phew! spicy!" reaction from her. My expectations for Thai in Everett were not high and I was pleasantly surprised. Finding myself visting again I'd definitely dine at Thai Gusto. read more

So yummy! Cam and I went with my dad before the Silvertips game on Friday at first because it was the only place that had any room for us. We didn't want to wait for a table so we walked around Everett looking for a restaurant and we came upon Thai Gusto. Cam and I have actually eaten here before but on a much less busy weekday. It was good then, and it was really good this time! They even had a pianist in playing live music! I had the Lively Ginger with salmon, Cam had the Phad Thai with prawns and my dad had the BBQ Beef. All three dishes were fabulous! Great flavors and I don't know if it was very authentic or not but it didn't matter because I gobbled it up. Normally, since Thai food is served family style, the portions are huge; Thai Gusto delivered. But I was so damn hungry that I ate my whole dish plus a bunch of rice, and quite a bit of Cam's Phad Thai. To say the least, the food was fabulous. Service could have been better; it was as if the staff didn't know that there was a hockey game that night. There were only two servers and the restaurant was PACKED. So service was a bit slow, but in the end it didn't matter. We got in and out with the perfect amount of time to get to the game and get a drink there too. I am most certainly coming back! This Thai restaurants is one of the worst Thai places I've ever been to. People who like this place must not have many Thai options living in Everett. We ordered the basic Pad Thai with chicken, since this is a signature dish that usually determines if the rest of the dishes are good. The Pad Thai hit the table and it literally looked like the chef poured a bunch of watered-down ketchup on rice noodles, with skimpy amounts of meat. We also ordered chicken fried rice for my kid, and that was also bland, with only a few chicken pieces. Even my kid, who eats EVERYTHING, refused to eat their thai food and spit it out! That's a REALLY bad sign. When the waitress came by to clear the table, she asked how everything was and said there was not very much chicken in either dish. She didn't say anything. The staff was nice enough, but also seemed more into chatting with each other and looking good. The bathrooms were a little/dirty gross for me. I can sometimes overlook a dirty bathroom, IF the food is amazing. But gross food and gross bathroom = HORRIBLE restaurant. I had to get redemption Thai food for dinner that night, and headed to Thom Thai in Seattle UW. *Sigh!* read more

I'll warn you in advance this is solely a review on the food and Yelp ordering service due to ordering take out. I ordered a spicy basil chicken dish. It was absolutely delicious! I am that person who orders a level 5 spice and then asks for extra spice with my meal that I can add on my own cause it's never actually spicy enough. Let me tell you, FINALLY, a Thai food joint that gets it right! I ordered a level 5 spice and it was truly spicy. I'm talking mouth on fire, runny nose, slight sweat forming. But don't be fooled, the food still had great flavor that could be tasted through the heat. In addition to delicious food, there was a lot of it. Large portions! The Yelp ordering service worked just as advertised. I even payed over Yelp and it was ready to go when I got there just in the amount that it stated. Absolutely not complaints. This was my second visit (10-2009) to this restaurant for lunch. During my first visit, my recollection was that the restaurant was average (3). But I returned with some friends as I do love Thai food. And as the name might suggest, the emphasis is on the spicy side which is to my liking (I ordered a 4). The yellow curry was excellent, but then it is yellow curry. Several others in my party of 4 (me and 3 women) tasted the curry dish I ordered and THEY would order that next time. They all thought the food was good and would consider returning. No MSG. Cuisine: The menu if beautifully designed and laid out. The menu history suggests that the Thai food may have a leaning toward both Chinese and Indian cuisine -- also two of my favorites. I guess I like Asian food. There is a fairly average choice of food although there were plenty of choices - certainly all the most common choices. OK. The food is reasonably priced. Service: Excellent. The waitresses were very polite, helpful and on top of things. The service follows a multi-serving approach that catches one off guard, but turns into a nice touch. The food is beautifully presented and the servings OK. Inside seating only. Restaurant History: According to the menu history, this Thai Gusto (which opened in Everett in 2007) is somehow related to the Silverdale, WA Bahn Thai Restaurant which has been open since 1995. Checking Bahn Thai out on the YELP rating system prior to writing this review, I noted that it then had 5 reviews with a 5 star rating. Currently, this restaurant is NOT a 5 star restaurant, maybe 3.5 (I gave it 4). I am thinking that a bigger customer volume might help the rating as there may be better cook coverage. Availability: The restaurant is open M-F from 11 to 3 PM and S/S from 12 PM to 9 PM. Cash or check. The restaurant advertises a full bar and live music from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM Friday and Saturday. Facility: This is a casual restaurant which is fine. But, it is definitely nicely decorated with a very bright / colorfully interior decorated plan - that "look of Thailand". I would consider that a plus. It is a fairly Large, roomy restaurant good for couples and large groups. Kids as well - they would certainly enjoy the color. Location: I am not sure what the issue is with this location, but I wonder if the restaurant has that good of a draw given the location. You would THINK the location is good - across the street (east side) from the Everett Events Center (Comcast Arena) and 3 establishments north of Broadway and 4 blocks south of the main street in downtown Everett. There is a pay parking lot next door to this restaurant and there is SOME parking on the street, but activities at the Everett Events Center makes parking sparse in a hurry. The Alligator Soule Restaurant used to be located next door to the Thai Gusto and I believe they moved to their new location on Broadway because of location, but I am not positive. read more

We order delivery through Yelp about once a month. Over a dozen times, only once has something been incorrect and it was remedied within thirty minutes, so I can't fault human error. The food is rather good. Though not the greatest thai in the world, we've always been happy. I give it four stars as I've been disappointed by THE thai staple: Pad Thai, which could use a little work. We've since stopped adding that to our order, opting for the fried rice, chicken satay (that peanut sauce is so good I always order extra!) and our very favorite: the sweet and sour chicken. This dish is amazing. I don't know how they get the basil so crunchy, but it's a delightful addition to the dish. Our orders always arrive within an hour, even at busier times, and the delivery guys are always pleasant and expedient. Yum, yum, yum! I'm very to the whole Thai food scene but I really enjoyed the food I had here. There is a parking lot right next door which is pretty handy and the employees were very friendly and accommodating even though I only stopped in to pick up the food to go. I'm allergic to nuts so I am very careful when I order food from a new place. The ladies were very careful and reassured me that my food was safe and nut-free! They are across from the event center so there should be plenty of traffic some of the time. The service was wonderful and the food was delicious though presentation was not at the same standard. I just got take out from Thai Gusto tonight with my boyfriend because my usual go-to Thai takeout place (Thai Valley) is unfortunately closed on Sundays. I'd driven by Thai Gusto lots of times and I'd been wanting to try it for awhile. My boyfriend and went for some pretty safe dishes: Chicken Pad Thai, Cashew Nut Chicken (although they have some cutesy name for it instead,) and brown rice. I accidentally pulled into the employee parking area and it was a huge SNAFU getting out of it...so try to avoid doing that if you're taking your first adventure over to Thai Gusto. We went in to pick up our to go order and I saw an Asian family sitting at one of the tables eating and I breathed a sigh of relief. Isn't it always a bit relieving when you see an Asian family eating at an Asian restaurant? Well...it is for me anyway. It ended up being $20 for two entrees and brown rice, so pretty average on the pricing. The restaurant is cute and seemed pretty clean and well decorated, although I only went to the front desk. The woman there was friendly, efficient, and polite. The food smelled delicious the entire way home and I couldn't wait to try it. I was a tiny bit disappointed, though. We ordered 4 stars on the cashew nut chicken and 3 stars on the pad thai and neither of them were even remotely spicy. The cashew nut chicken was still good despite not having any heat, but I would have enjoyed it a LOT more if it tasted like 4 stars instead of 0. It had lots of well cooked veggies and I was glad it didn't have very many pieces of that pathetic baby corn that Thai places love to put in their dishes. My dog was sad, though, since I always feed him my unwanted baby corn. My boyfriend got a small bone in one of his pieces of chicken out of this dish, which was slightly concerning. I've never had that happen at a Thai food place before....I'm glad it happened to him instead of me, though. The pad thai was decent. The noodles were kind of weird and stuck together and it was all this mashed potato-esque color which was a bit strange, but it tasted good. The texture was fine despite the weird noodle clumpy-ness, but once again, I would have liked it a LOT more if it were a true 3 star level of spiciness. The brown rice didn't have that nutty flavor that some brown rices have, which was a bit disappointing. Overall, Thai Gusto was ok on my list. I go to school at EVCC and I would go over there for lunch since it's so close, but my favorite Everett Thai food place is still Thai Valley. read more

We've been coming here for some time and it seems to be a little hit or miss. When they're good, they're good; some of their specials have been terrific, especially the seafood ones. But the standards seem to be a little lacking. I only ordered the Pad Se Ew once, and that's my favorite Thai dish, because it was so bland. If Thai Gusto could find consistency in its preparation and presentation, they'd get the extra star. But as is, I'm content to shop around for different Thai restaurants. read more
