This place is the hidden gem of Cleburne - when it comes to Thai food. We were greeted with friendly smiles and sat immediately. Our server was very nice and did a great job. We started with the complimentary broth soup as an app - it was delicious. The owner came by and spoke with us for a couple of minutes. Very pleasant woman. We wish her a safe trip back to Thailand! I can see why the ratings for Thai Garden Cafe have one down a bit. I went today for the first time in awhile with my son. The service is still very good. The ambiance s the same, but the fd quality has one down some. They are using a lot of cabbage. I have never seen cabbage in pad Thai before. doubt I ever will again. It seems they are trying to stretch the food out and giving smaller prices and still raised the prices. I paid over 80.00 for a single appetizer my son and i shared, a single soup we shared and 2 entrees. 1 hot tea and 1 soda. With portions smaller than they were before it really didn't seem worth it especially since I am not a huge fan of cabbage and it was in everything. What happened to the mushrooms? It was bad enough when I could barely ever get there because of their hours, now it seems I don't care if I can or not. I really wish Cleburne could get a decent Thai restaurant that stayed open for dinner and had good portion sizes. I mean really how much are some noodles and some tofu? Not 80.00 I can tell you that. I could have bought the ingredients for what we ate today for less than 20.00 and I don't even get a discount on food. I was quite shocked when I saw the bill. Sorry I forgot to take pictures We had the Tom Kha, the Drunken Noodles, the Pad Thai, and the mixed Appetizer plate. The pics on their menu are a little deceiving. The mixed appetizer plate look like they are going to be egg roll size or even spring roll size, but they are about 1/4 that size even though 3 of them are supposed to be spring rolls. I don't like to give a bad review of a place like this, but I eat Thai food pretty regularly. The food is extremely low quality. Very small portions. The worst Thai food I've ever had and I've tried this a couple of times now. My wife and I both got The Tom Kha Kai Soup very small portion, left hungry. They charged us $3 more for each bowl of soup than they said on the menu. $35 for 2 small bowls of soup before tax and tip! Not recommended. read more

Went there for lunch today, had never been, went in and got seated immediately, but the whole restaurant was so hot we were sweating, the waitress we had was a young girl super nice and helpful, but the food and service(Not the waitress, who was new) was absolutely horrible. My entire group ordered pad thai, I had chicken pad thai add tofu, the other two in the party had shrimp pad thai add tofu, and pork pad thai. We waited 40 minutes for our food, and when it finally came out, it was cold, the tofu looked like sliced bread and had the consistency of sliced bread too, and when I touched it with my fork A LOT of liquid came out, yes i know tofu is in water when you get it, but this was just too much water for it to have been cooked, and it was just a watery gooey blob. The shrimp pad thai was supposed to be spicy and wasn't , had the same issue with the tofu, and the shrimp was pre-cooked shrimp with the shell on that was just re-cooked and was rubbery. The pork was so pale it looked like chicken. The overall taste was salty and gross! We quietly Went to the waitress so that it wouldn't cause a scene to the other restaurant goers and she told us that she would get the manager. The manager comes out of the kitchen and comes to the table and starts yelling at us asking us "what's wrong with the food" she said "oh it's cold we can take it back to the kitchen and REHEAT it for you" We said "um no, thank you. You are NOT supposed to take food BACK to the kitchen and REHEAT IT" LIKE YUCK!!. Then she kept asking us questions like "have you ever eaten pad thai before?" And yes, we eat pad thai quite often, We've just never been here before, so she was. Like, "well, maybe pad Thai isn't for everybody Or Thai food isn't for everybody. Maybe it just isn't to your liking." We said no that something was just wrong with it. She then proceeded to tell us "well how about you don't pay for it, leave here, and NEVER COME BACK HERE AGAIN". We told her "yeah we think that is the best option" A:the food is terrible, and B: the management skills seem to lacking We are not sure if her yelling was to embarrass us or not, but she only embarrassed herself and the establishment. We DID pay for the one fountain drink someone got, but we left the food and everything behind. I DO NOT recommend this place AT ALL. Yes we did not have to pay, but I think people need to be aware that if you say it's cold and they say they will take care of it, they just go back there and REHEAT it, and that if there are other issues, and you make a complaint, you will probably not be allowed back. read more

Thai flavor with southern hospitality. Had a delicious lunch today. All the vegetable love I was looking for all from a small Texas hidden gem. The wait staff is super attentive. Every subtlety of indecision or possible discrepancy with my experience was met with a quick direction or assistance from the staff. The food I had was a unique take on some flavors I typically experience from Thai. My Meal was blended with just the right amount of heat to keep the satisfying buzz of spice ruminating throughout lunch. The perfect lunch to send me out to finish the work week. I really, really wanted to like this place as we just moved here from Burleson, and have been looking for a new Thai restaurant. I'll start with the appetizers... We got the Thai sampler which included crab wontons, spring rolls, and Thai poppers at $10. They were SMALL..so small they were filled with little to nothing. My son got the fried rice which had no flavor. Maybe a little soy sauce but tasted so bland and was not even mixed. We asked for no meat, all vegetables, and did not get any vegetables. ($9.70) (No pictured) Thai red curry. ($10.70/each) My husband and I both got an order and both had a spice level of 2 (mild/medium) Red curry and Panang curry are our go to at all Thai restaurants, so we were excited to try. Mine was bright red, while his was milky white with barely even a tint of red. It was obvious his would have little to no flavor, and we were right. Not my favorite red curry, but also not the worst. Mine had good flavor. We were also disappointed with the amount of rice they give you, it does not even fill the small to-go container. The price was high, and we've been to a lot of Thai restaurants. For what you get, you should be paying a lot less. We went at lunchtime based on the reviews of our neighbors and we had to wait a bit, but the servixe was great! Me and my husband ordered to different curries, mine with pork and his with chicken. I had the red curry with mild spice. It had amazing flavor, loaded with veggies and it came with rice, tiny spring rolls, and a soup that had a lemony taste, but still good! All in all, it was a great local spot for us to get our thai fix, as our favorite place is Thai Pakse which is 50 minutes away! We're definitely going back! read more

Quiet little place I'm a quiet town. Was odd to see Thai in the out of the way country spot, so we tried it. Food was decent. A bit expensive for the portions they serve. You can spend 20 minutes driving a bit for their north for more on your plate for the same price. Owner was real nice and friendly. I can't remember the dishes we had, tho I do recall my wife having a curry dish that was good. The egg rolls are what I recall the most, as they were wicked small and tasted like they were bought from the frozen food section at Costco. Service is excellent. The place has a laidback, warm family feel. You get a small bowl of Tom yum soup as soon as you sit down. I tried the pad thai with tofu. Hands down the best pad thai I've had in texas. You can rate the spiciness of the entrees (big plus!) My brother tried the shrimp panang curry and it was amazing. Thai Garden Cafe is pretty much the only Thai food place in the area. The menu offers a great selection of soups, noodles, curry etc. and a lunchtime special is also available. The staff are all very friendly and helpful and the manager is a very friendly person, always making jokes when you pay for your meals. The opening times are a little weird, only being open 11-3 most days but overall I would definitely recommend this restaurant. read more

Nice little hole-in-the-wall restaurant. If you're not looking for it, you'll miss it. There were 9 of us so they had to rearrange some tables but they were happy to do it. Everyone liked their food. One person asked for no spice on her curry but still felt it was too hot (she doesn't like spicy food AT ALL). She still ate the whole meal, though, so that says something about the food. My Thai fried rice (mild) was seasoned well. I thought it was oily, though. One reason (out of many) that I prefer Thai over Chinese cuisine is that good Thai food isn't oily. I love Thai food and it's hard to believe such a great restaurant exists in such a small town! I always get green curry when I go to Thai restaurants and, hands down, this is my favorite. The curry sauce itself is thick and creamy and the vegetables are fresh and very tasty. Unlike most Thai places, they are pretty accurate about spice levels (at least for this American), and a medium is truly a medium.
