Ordered garlic chicken, pineapple curry noodles and sticky rice husband orders other plates . Their rice was so hard and I had put curry on top to soften and flavor. But didn't work. So they bought me some more sticky rice. Still dry and hard. Fatima was th most sweetest and most helpful to try and make it better. But someone in the back kitchen only gave me a tablespoons worth curry that had put in my Stu my rice to make it better. But it was much much more. We spent the last 80.00 dls here. Wow, what a disappointment. This place is not looking for in dining clientele. We took our party of 6 yesterday 11/10/25 here We were raving about Thai food and how good it was at Chiangmai Thai. 4 that joined us had never had Thai food. We have frequented both the Terrell and Tyler establishments. Last night Terrell was more convenient. Let me just say they need a manager desperately. There were very few at other tables. When our appetizers came, they were cold. There was a very long pause between appetizers and main course. When our entrees came, you could tell that they had been sitting in the back. Our Pad See Eu noodles were dry on top. Our shrimp Pad Thai had no shrimp. Since we were sharing, we needed plates. We saw them at the bar and when we got up to get them ourselves, it was obvious there was some type of conflict going on between our waitress and the cooking staff because we could hear yelling at our table. Our waitress was missing for long intervals. I don't mind paying a 20% mandatory tip but I really expect better. And before you ask. No, I did not say something at the restaurant because there was no obvious manager nor anyone over 18 to ask. Oh, and by the way the unkept patio mentioned in the review on August 30th is still unkept. read more

My gf and I were driving around, and we decided to grab lunch. She suggested we go here. She's been here before. She believed I would enjoy the restaurant. I really was excited to try this place. If she likes it, I felt I would like it. First thing I want to say is, appearances can be deceiving. I believed it was going to look like every other Thai restaurant I have eaten in. The outside looks very nondescript. However once you step inside, you can clearly tell they put a lot of time and effort into creating an atmosphere that might actually trick you into believing that you're in Thailand. The ambience was perfect. We were seated very quickly, even though the restaurant had quite a few guests dining. I asked the server about the decor. She mentioned it was all authentic Thailand decor. We did end up ordering a couple of appetizers. The Crab Rangoon and the Thai Dumplings . We really enjoy both appetizers. She enjoyed the Thai Chicken Lettuce Wrapped. I ordered the Pad Thai, with Chicken and Shrimp. Believe it or not, this is the first Thai restaurant I've ever eaten in, where they asking what kind of spice level I wanted. I went with a spice level of two. That level was spicy, but not overly spicy, but still gave a bit of a kick. Next visit I will hit that with a three. I definitely enjoyed what I ordered. The service was good. The ambience was incredible. The food was great. I got more food than I expected. I felt the price was reasonable for the quality of the food. Hi, my YELP Foodie Family: I want to share with you that Chiangmai Thai Kitchen is not just a restaurant; it is more of an experience. I felt like I was in Thailand the whole time I ate there, even before I tasted the food. The restaurant's interior was very much like I was in Thailand, and it gave me the feeling of one of the best meals I have had in a while. We started with the Tom Kha coconut soup, and let me tell you----this is not just a soup. It was a masterpiece. The taste was so good that it had the right amount of coconut milk, lime, and herbs. I ordered the spice level one, and trust me, this place doesn't joke with spicy food. One was enough to make me very hungry and, at the same time, provide that burning sensation one wants to have. Then there were the entrées. I ordered the basil rice with shrimp, and it was so good that each grain of rice was packed with flavor, and the shrimp were super tender and juicy. There was also Pad Thai with vegetables. I think I died and went to heaven because this was my first bite of this dish. The noodles were just right - not too soft that it melts in your mouth as soon as you put it in, but not too hard either; the vegetables were still crisp, and the sauce was something I would describe as mouth-watering, with the right amount of sweet and sour. But the most memorable drink of the evening was the Thai iced tea. I do not know what kind of spell they put in these drinks, and I ordered two because one was not enough. This is not the powdered, artificially flavored, and very sweet syrup you get at other places; this was fresh, creamy, and refreshing. This place was on its A-game the entire time we were there. The service was excellent, and the employees made me and my friends feel comfortable and valued the whole time we were there. Every aspect of the restaurant, from the design to the taste of the food to the excellent service, made me feel that I was in Thailand while eating in this restaurant. We were so excited to try this place after looking at the menu. What a disappointment!! First we walked in near a really unkept patio that had broken tables and debris all over. We walked in the side door, and no one was around to seat usso we walked to the front thinking maybe we came in the wrong door. It was 7pm, prime dinner time on a Saturday night, with only a few patrons at tables. After finally getting seated, we were given terrible torn-around-the-edges menus. We waited for 10-15 minutes for someone to take our order. There were three other tables seated and had their order taken, and no one had taken our order yet. So finally, a waitress walked by and asked if we had been helped, and said she would get someone. The waiter who came said they were trying to figure out who would wait on our table. We figured, okay, maybe they are understaffed. So we ordered our drinks and food, waited 15 mins for two waters, then 10 minutes later he brought us our appetizer and no plates, then walked away. We tried the fresh shrimp spring rolls. They were primarily iceberg lettuce in a wrapper with a sliver of shrimp. I caught the server and asked for plates, because the lettuce was falling on the table. He said he would get them and walked to the back of the place, emerged about 10-15 minutes later, took an order at another table, and completely forgot about us. What a disappointment. They have a great-looking menu. I had high hopes for the food, but decided we had waited way too long already, so we left our money and walked out. We drove in from Houston for a wedding and were excited to find Thai food nearby.Unfortunately, this place is not one I would recommend based on our experience. I went here with my partner and her pineapple fried rice had mold all over the bottom of then pineapple. We brought this up to the waiter and he chose to be very negligent and annoyed, he brought back the same dish with that piece sliced off. We asked if we could have a refund or at least a discount and his manager said all they could do was remake the dish. Remaking a dish doesn't fix the issue if your food is mold invested. We refused the offer and they told us they wouldn't discount off of the final bill. We didn't receive an apology and were made to feel as though we were the inconvenience. For anyone choosing to eat here check your food thoroughly as there can be mold and who knows what else from the negligence of their service. read more

I will admit we had pretty low expectations for thai food in Terrell, but wow were we wrong. For apps: dumplins (we did them fried, I'd do steamed next) and crab Rangoon. The crab Rangoon was fantastic. Tons of crab and not a lot of cream cheese. Both came out piping hot. For entrees, we got yellow curry with extra shrimp (and there were a lot of extra shrimp), red curry with chicken and pad thai combo. Each were fantastic. We did a 3 for heat on all - warm, lingering but not over powering. Everything was creamy, fragrent, and flavorful. The pad thai was some of the best I've had. And, the portions were super generous. I saw this place when I got out the movies & just had to try it. The area is really cute and inviting. The waitress was really helpful with my questions and very nice. The appetizers were delicious but lacking some seasoning, it was definitely fresh though which was a plus. The pad Thai was at the spice level I asked for and was delicious, I just wish the shrimp didn't have the tails. I had to take time out to rummage around to take the tails off of my shrimp. The Prik Khing with the recommended beef as a protein was flavored well (at extra spicy, I did not find it was too spicy, but I enjoy spicy food) and paired well with the jasmine white rice. The vegetables were crisp and fresh. I love that you can order a la carte! My mom ordered a fried egg (which was round - not flat- and looked crisp on the outside with an easy yolk, perfect), a side of jasmine rice, and a side of steamed vegetables, which were fresh and crisp as well! First time Going to this place and it was AMAZING and out waiter Alex was AMAZING the food came out quick, the place look so cool, it was clean, they had boba and many options. I recommend the fried dumplings and Chow Mein. I love this place I totally recommend if you like Chinese food and the tofu was amazing as well. The food was really good/ the service great. I had a chicken Panang curry and my husband the duck curry. We started off with chicken egg rolls and chicken satay. Both lacked flavor tho but were cooked very well. I had a nice jasmine tea and my husband a coffee that was kind of weak. The lacking star is because his duck curry had hardly any duck tho it was flavorful and cooked well but if it's a duck curry there should've been noticeable amounts of duck meat. The ambience is wonderful & I love how it's been decorated and especially how clean the inside is. It's hard to categorize this restaurant and everything that's wrong with it. I'll start with the obvious, the food has almost nothing to do with Thai food. I've been in and out of Thailand on business for almost 30 years and traveled the country extensively. The cuisine is both amazing and varied. Apparently, the owners of this place think they can fool people with decorations and nik-make resembling Thailand. The food though reminds me more of bad 'would be' Thai cuisine. I guess they think Americans can't appreciate proper Thai food. Add to that for some reason I was given a tour of the kitchen. Huge mistake for them and me. Seeing the filthy environment completely threw me off my appetite. How the City of Terrell allows such abysmal conditions to exist in a public service facility is beyond me. Stacks of dirty towels being used near serving stations and even openly happy pests, cockroaches in this instance, scurrying around. I politely and quickly paid my bill, had my food in a to go box and dumped it in the trashcan outside. I will never forget back. Disgusting. read more

I was on a business trip and stayed in Terrell. Luckily this restaurant is across the street from my hotel. I ordered the snow salmon entree. The salmon was tender with a light crisp on the outside. (I was so hungry that I forgot to take a photo of the food.) The flavors hit the spot for me because I miss having Asian food so n my trip in Texas. The interior design is lovely of Thai decor. I had everything from the Pad Thai Noodles, to Chicken Massaman Curry, to their spring rolls; that were all delicious. Service was horrible. Food was bland and almost no taste. Got the spicy duck dish. There was maybe one little pice of duck cubed in the entire small dish. It's was nothing but peppers onions and mushrooms. Only thing going for it was it was nice and spicy. I questioned this with the server and was blown off and told it's the portion and that's it. Took about 40 minutes just to get waters on the table. It was not busy at this time, I did not receive silverware even when I asked for silverware and no napkins.
