5-Star Review for Miyako Sushi in Granbury We've been coming to Miyako for years and it's still our favorite sushi spot in Granbury! The sushi is consistently fresh and delicious they have an excellent variety of both creative rolls and high-quality sashimi. My personal favorite is the Submarine Bowl with sashimi it's always a winner. The food and service are outstanding every single time. The staff is genuinely helpful, happy to make recommendations if you're unsure what to order, and they make you feel welcome whether you're stopping in solo, as a couple at the sushi bar, or with the whole family. We love sitting at the hibachi tables when the kids and grandkids join us everyone has a great time. If you're in Granbury and craving sushi (or hibachi), Miyako is the place to go. I've been here before and don't think I was an Elite and didn't post much at the time. If you are in Granbury and want sushi there isn't a lot of options but luckily this place can fill the needs of a sushi eating person. The prices are a bit high compared to a big city with lots of competition but not having to drive 50 miles to a big city helps offset the cost. I was with 3 other people, 2 of the others were taking out the other one and said they would pay for their meal because it was their birthday but weren't going to pay for mine because they said I eat too much at sushi places :-) That's okay because I always feel like I should order the cheapest stuff if someone else is paying for it. I didn't have to worry about how much it cost and I wasn't looking at the prices. Everything all of us had was great. I only had sushi but others did have other things as well. My sushi was all fresh tasting. This was lunch time on a Wednesday. Turns out the tab for the other 3 people was 65.25 and mine was 65.26 so guess they were right! read more

The hibachi was so so. The interior was run down and hibachi's and vents were looking like they needed to be replaced. Additionally; how many people can you honestly fit into a small space. Never again! read more

I have been sick since eating there. The service was horrible and the staff had not a clue what they are serving. I have a gluten allergy. My server had no idea what that even means so he brought another lady over that knew a little bit more but when we finally figured out two rolls that were gluten free, they served me one that was not. It was really dark in there but I figured it out about halfway through. It took her at least 15 minutes to finally come back. I explained it to her and showed her, she grabbed the roll and left. She didn't say anything else or was ever seen again. The other server finally showed up another 15 minutes later with the bill. That place is an absolute mess. Never again. read more

A group of 8 did lunch there this past Sunday. The food overall was good and the service was excellent. The food portions weren't small but not too big either. Several of us did the Bento box, which had salads, stir fried vegetables, and the main protein with your choice of rice. I did the fried rice, and it was really good. The only negative was my Teriyaki Steak had little seasoning, and soy sauce was all they had to improve the flavor or lack of flavor. Granbury is so lucky to have such a great sushi/hibachi restaurant. I have traveled a lot and experience some of the fine sushi places in Las Vegas. Food quality is amazing and they always have the freshest sashimi. The owners are super friendly and gave us small tastings of things to try. If raw fish is not your thing they have one of the best steaks/chicken hibachi's around. read more

Went in Christmas Eve for dinner, was sat down at one of the Hibachi grills within 5 minutes as a party of 2. The chef took a little while to appear but our waitress was very attentive and very polite. Once our chef did arrive he put on a spectacle with how he cooked our food, and it tasted as good as it looked when it came off the grill. My NY Strip steak was delicious and the chef even offered me the fat. I don't know why Miyako has such a low rating; a Japanese restaurant like Miyako in a town like Granbury just didn't seem possible to me before, but after just one night it's single-handedly changed my opinion on small-town Asian restaurants. read more

Came here with my husband and enjoyed our meal. The sushi was nice and fresh, sushi rice had good texture and stuck together, and our appetizers were good as well. The service could be improved upon. Our waitress was very interested in another guest , and other servers and one of the sushi chefs were kinda huddled around this person. I wouldn't have minded too much, but we waited a while for food and drink refills. Overall, I would recommend this place for the food as the sushi was quite tasty! read more

Great food. Sat at the hibachi table and enjoyed every minute. My food was cooked to perfection and the chef was very amiable.

I can't get over how good the sushi is here. We got the Alaskan roll, rattlesnake roll, FDN2 roll and the dancing eel roll. They were all top tear and we ordered them to go. The only one that didn't have really great flavor was the FDN2 roll, so we won't be ordering it again. It was a little bit on the pricier side, but still worth it. read more

We went on last minute after thought for sushi.. Food was good, we ordered four sushi rolls and a fillet steak with shrimp. Its Pricey. The steak was good right medium rare but had a slight taste of freezer burn to it. Almost as it was an old piece of meat Shrimp was yummy. The sushi rolls were great although we tried one off the specialty board, volcano roll ,didn't really care for that one. Too much sweet to it. I have never been here but my parents were in an unfortunate situation recently. They were from out of town but took an Uber to this restaurant. They enjoyed their evening but found themselves stranded without an Uber to return to their hotel after their meal. One of the restaurant's sushi staff graciously dropped what he was doing and gave them a ride back to their hotel in his own vehicle. 5 star service! read more

Mask up before you enter! This placed was packed. I was impressed that the people just standing around at the bar kept their mask on! We were in a hurry, so I didn't have time to check Yelp pictures. Alas, I made a bad pick. My teriyaki chicken was quite bland, while the vegetables with it were delicious. I did enjoy the soup and salad, the dressing was quite good. Glenda's tempura shrimp was a massive plate, way to much for her. She ate what she could, and then I dug in! The shrimp, broccoli, and sweet potatoes were so good in the light tempura batter. Place is way over rated. The Food was terrible and the price was extremely high for the Food that you receive. You pay extra for fried rice. All the Hibachi grills i have ever eaten at, the rice came with the price of the meal. I paid over $100 for 3 people and it was terrible. My party was told upon arrival it would be a 30 min wait and we waited almost 90 min. The cook was too busy talking to one of his friends that wanted to buy him a shot of liquor. What the heck! Miyako Japanese Restaurant, I've been craving sushi for a few months now. What I just had in your restaurant was beyond mouth watering. Hands down my favorite to date! I took my 16 year old Grandson out with family and his best friend. The cook put on a great show for us. The food was delicious and more than any of our party could eat. We each had a enough for another meal to take home with us. The service was top notch and our server never let our drinks go dry. She was easy to ask for additional appetizers. So apparently after five things on the menu go up a TON in price. This is not mentioned on the menu nor did the lady on the phone when I was placing my take out order mention it to me. A junior chicken teriyaki on the menu is priced at $10.99 & we subbed to fried rice which is $3.00 as a side item. I was charged $14.50 for the meal and $3.75 to substitute the white for fried. If this was mentioned on the menu or on the phone when I ordered there would be no issue. But my meal was a lot more than expected & when I brought it to the person at the front attention she looked at me like I was stupid and said she'd just throw it away if I didn't wanna pay the price... read more

I enjoyed it so much and the people sitting at the hibachi table with us was fun and engaging. I would recommend the steak lobster and shrimp I'm not fond of the vegetables so I usually ask him to leave that off but my wife loves vegetables and she said they were done very nicely. Went to try their Hibachi lunch - Had steak, vegetables, and fried rice (with soup and salad). Always fun watching someone else cook:). On of the best places in Granbury for birthday hibachi, a nice lunch, or carry out, it's always packed on the weekends. My favorite rolls are (Holiday & Summertime Fun (not on menu, but ask they are so good). Their rainbow roll is one of the most generous portions I've had. We just moved to Granbury and Japanese is our favorite type of food. I had sashimi and my fiancée had a spicy tuna and a shrimp tempura roll. Food was very good, and served quickly. Best sushi in Granbury! OK, it's now the only sushi in Granbury. Even though they have no competition, the sushi bar is not resting on its market dominance. Sushi is consistently good and the portions on the lunch bento boxes is very good. Miyako not only has a full bar, but an actual bar if you are looking for dark, cool place to recover from the heat. Miyako also has hibachi tables, but we've never tried it (hibachi is not really our thing). read more
