Great place to go for any celebration, this one was for my son 18th birthday. Great food, great staff and amazing atmosphere

chicken teriyaki hibachi

we came to dinner and got the habachi chicken teriyaki with fried rice. my friend got the same thing but also with shrimp! was honestly expecting a bigger side of rice but it was still really good! we got spicy mayo on the side and it was really good! the service was also good, our waitress made sure we had everything we needed!

Went in Christmas Eve for dinner, was sat down at one of the Hibachi grills within 5 minutes as a party of 2. The chef took a little while to appear but our waitress was very attentive and very polite. Once our chef did arrive he put on a spectacle with how he cooked our food, and it tasted as good as it looked when it came off the grill. My NY Strip steak was delicious and the chef even offered me the fat. I don't know why Miyako has such a low rating; a Japanese restaurant like Miyako in a town like Granbury just didn't seem possible to me before, but after just one night it's single-handedly changed my opinion on small-town Asian restaurants.

Came here with my husband and enjoyed our meal. The sushi was nice and fresh, sushi rice had good texture and stuck together, and our appetizers were good as well. The service could be improved upon. Our waitress was very interested in another guest , and other servers and one of the sushi chefs were kinda huddled around this person. I wouldn't have minded too much, but we waited a while for food and drink refills. Overall, I would recommend this place for the food as the sushi was quite tasty!

Bento Boxes for lunch are outstanding! Bloody Marys are pretty good too! I'm not a big sushi eater but what I have had was really good!

Great food. Sat at the hibachi table and enjoyed every minute. My food was cooked to perfection and the chef was very amiable.

Do they serve noodles?

No, they do not serve noodles. My wife asked the very same question when we were there.

Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar is a Japanese hand roll restaurant that focuses on fresh seafood,…read moremade-to-order sushi, and a more interactive dining experience. We walked into a space centered around sitting at the bar and watching the chefs prepare each hand roll in front of us, which gave the meal a more personal feel compared to a traditional sushi restaurant. The setup is smaller and more intimate, making the experience feel closer to a sushi bar rather than a casual meal spot. The biggest highlight is the quality of the fish and the hand rolls themselves. The seafood tastes fresh, clean, and carefully prepared, with options like salmon belly, otoro, kanpachi, and crab hand rolls standing out. We ordered a few different rolls and found each one well executed, with the fish having a clean, bright flavor that did not rely on heavy sauces or toppings. Each roll is made individually, so the nori stays crisp and the textures come through better than pre-made sushi. The menu has a good balance of classic choices and more creative combinations, making it easy to try different flavors throughout the meal. The chef interaction adds another layer to the visit. Since everything is prepared right in front of you, we could see the attention put into each piece, from assembling the ingredients to serving it at the right moment. The chefs were precise in their movements and took the time to explain the different fish and flavor profiles, which made the meal feel more like an experience rather than just ordering sushi off a menu. One thing to plan for is the wait. Hatsuyuki does not take reservations, and the popularity means there can be a significant line during busy hours. We arrived earlier and found it helped us avoid a longer wait. Seating is limited, but that also helps maintain the quality and atmosphere of the restaurant. The intimate size of the bar means the service stays focused and the pacing remains personal, even when the restaurant is full. Hatsuyuki Handroll Bar is one of the stronger sushi experiences in the area for anyone who enjoys fresh seafood and a more curated dining style. The wait can be a downside, but the quality of the fish, chef preparation, and overall atmosphere make it worth visiting, especially if you are looking for something beyond standard sushi rolls. The focus on craftsmanship and the personal interaction with the chefs elevate the meal into something more memorable than a typical sushi stop.

We ended up waiting about an hour and a half, even though we noticed other people arriving after us and getting seated right away while we were still waiting. That felt pretty uncalled for, especially since other guests who arrived after us were seated first, and a few other couples agreed. That being said, the sushi was delicious, and the service was very attentive and friendly. I just wish the seating process had been handled better.

After being loyal customers of Otani for over 5 years, two bad experiences back-to-back were enough…read morefor us to stop coming altogether. Our first issue was with a chef named Uncle Sam. We understand every hibachi chef has their own style, but the constant humming and singing throughout the entire meal was distracting rather than entertaining. More importantly, the food was terrible--burnt vegetables, overcooked rice, excessive oil and butter, and very little flavor. Wanting to give the restaurant another chance, we returned a few weeks later. We specifically told our server we did not want to be seated with that chef and were willing to wait. After being moved to a different table, ordering our food, receiving drinks and appetizers, and waiting over 40 minutes, we were finally told that due to another chef leaving, we would have no choice but to use the same chef we had requested not to have. The problem wasn't the emergency--the problem was the complete lack of communication. By that point we had already invested time, ordered food, and waited. When we decided to leave, we were still charged for our drinks and appetizer. The manager's response was basically that the chef didn't want to cook for us either. To top it off, the floors are consistently sticky and the bathrooms need attention. It's disappointing because this used to be one of our favorite local restaurants, but poor management, poor communication, and declining cleanliness have lost us as customers.

They were all good but the favorites were the brussel sprouts they were so light and tasty and the bao buns, my kid wanted a second order. For our entrees we got combination fried rice with beef and chicken, chicken fried rice, and two sushi rolls. They have their own parking lot which was nice. The staff was friendly, we were seated immediately even though they were busy. The decor is cute and clean. They have a bar and desserts too. This is not from the house so we will definitely be back.

The cars kind of block it, so you just have to commit and trust you are not in the wrong place. Once you get inside though, it is actually really cute and cozy. Also had a funny moment walking in like... where are my Asian people at? It is small but has a few different seating vibes. A sushi bar if you want something more low key, some dimly lit tables, and a brighter dining area where I landed. No outdoor seating, but it stays busy which was surprising given the location. Menu looked like it might be tough for a vegan at first glance, but my server was super knowledgeable and made it easy. I ended up with seaweed salad, cucumber salad, edamame, roasted brussels sprouts, and a tofu style poke bowl situation that was actually really good. Green tea was solid too. Only note is if you like spice, you have to ask for it because it is very mild on its own. It is a little pricier than expected for the setting, I was around $40 for lunch, and service was great. I also ended up chatting with a regular who basically treats it like his go to spot, which says a lot. Not a mind blown moment, but definitely a solid 4 star, would go back.
