Pros- Food was very hot which was great. Lunch special was very fairly priced. Shaggy dog roll was good. Green curry chicken soup was good, a lot and fresh. Cons- Tea tasted off, wrong or spoiled. I had the calamari and it was chewy rings. Too chewy so you had to eat the whole thing at one time bc it wouldn't break. Had the Karrage chicken (little fried chicken pieces). Again tuff and mystery dark meat. Over all it was ok. The lunch specials were priced nicely. Place was clean. I didn't leave feeling overly impressed. Lots of items on the menu that cover more than sushi so who knows maybe something on the menu is better. I like the other place in town better. But this place might be worth a try for you. read more

Me and My best friend came to eat here with her boyfriend and the food was fabulous and fantastic!! However, the service was crappy. We waited 15 minutes to even be greeted, then every time we would try and call our waitress over she ignored us and served her party of 7 first, i feel as if she did this because we are young and freshly 18-19 years old. I usually leave great tips for great waitresses. But the fact that she was ignoring us, not checking on us, we had to ask refills and things in that nature I only left 77¢ as a tip just to round up my bill to the next dollar. However I wish waitresses would stop assuming young people aren't gonna tip so i'm not going to give them my 100% type of mindset because it's not like that for all young adults. Will not be returning due to service. read more

Love the sushi! Must try the Stephenville roll and the Sunshine roll, the cheese Rangoons. Love going here when I'm in town read more

I ordered Hibachi Shrimp, with fried rice, grilled veggies, a house salad and clear soup for $11.99- a bargain lunch, but the service and food were far above your run of the mill Stephenville restaurant. I got a to-go box because it was more than i could eat! They have a full bar here and a personal sushi chef for guests at the sushi bar. My unsweetened Arnold Palmer was perfecto and i am out of here for under $20 with a 20% tip and I'll be back soon. read more

If you're thinking about coming here don't. Food was awful and way to expensive for how it taste. my sushi was hot and was not supposed to be. I'm not a Karen and never leave reviews. IT WAS THAT BAD!!!! read more

So first off, the place looks closed and uninviting, but it is open. The waitstaff doesn't know the menu and the prices are way too high. The sushi rolls were bland and ultra tiny! The rice on the rolls were soggy and not sticky. The fried rice looks like brown rice and has very little flavor. They served one soy sauce plate for the two of us to use even though my girlfriend told the waitress she was allergic to the shellfish roll I ordered. The rolls came out first and my dads meal came out 5 minutes later with the rice. He stated that his meal was horrible and made a statement to the waitress that acknowledged his complaint and walked off. Then it took forever to get the check. Very disappointed in food, quality, staff, and prices. I'm used to eating Sushi in Austin and it's cheaper there! Personally, other than a few small issues, the other Sushi place in Stephenville is much better and offers a better selection of popular rolls and a knowledgeable staff. it's cool to be unique, but if doing so, be amazing too and not below average like this place! read more

Walked in at noon on Saturday place was empty that should be a sign. Ordered edemame disgusting. Under cooked or beans overripe or both. Ordered ramen which was also disgusting. No flavor in broth. Table was dusty every time a plate was brought to it. Seats already delaminating. Stay away from this place read more

Food was great. Sat at sushi bar and the chefs were very friendly and helpful as it was our first time. We were able to have a nice quiet meal and watch into other room doing hibachi. read more

I really like the flavor profile of this place. Great menu and the food isn't generic. I look forward to it every time I come to town.

We are at the bar because we were in a hurry & the staff were very helpful & friendly. Our hibachi was delicious, the filets were cooked perfectly. My son had the sashimi starter & raved about it. read more

We usually eat at the other sushi place in town but decided to try this new place. The ambiance was nice and the service was good. We found the sushi to be average. The tools are smaller than most I have had but they were decent. read more

Excellent service, pleasant atmosphere and the food is delicious. Will definitely recommend to all of my friends.

Super excited to try this place out. Google said they closed at 10pm. Turns out they closed at 9. We walked in at 9. Told to leave. People were still being served. Thanks. read more

Dang this place can be amazing, and sometimes not as good as amazing. Good variety, pleasant staff. Worth a try.

Fabulous food, in an unexpected space (Stephenville). And attentive service. Delivered the goods!

service from the server was fantastic. the host/manager needs a lesson in customer service. food was good.

good servic, but probably the worst food experience ever!! the calamari was way over cooked we weren't able to even chew it and the beef and noodles and spicy California roll was awful! we are now heading to canes to go to supper! read more

Attentive staff, I tried the yellowtail on fire, I enjoyed it quite a bit, Spicy with a bit of sweet. Yum! Next was the Volcano on fire it was tasty and I would order again read more

Great Food & Service, we did Hibachi last night and a few sushi rolls. We had 2 kids with us and the Hibachi Chef was great, very entertaining and included them, they loved the food tossing and fire volcano. We tried the chicken hibachi, Shaky Dog, Hawaiian roll & Sexy Beach roll. The kids loved the Shaky dog roll. I thought the Sexy Beach was flavorful. The prices were very reasonable and we had more than enough food left over for lunch today. read more

We ate at the hibachi grill. The chef was very entertaining and put on a great show. Our son had never been before and he said it was the best food he's ever eaten. I had the steak and salmon and the salmon literally melts in your mouth. Every bite was delicious. We look forward to returning! read more

Only thing I like here is the grilled calamari. The sushi, sashimi, rolls are below mediocre to mediocre at best. Have tried eating a few times to see if it would improve but still just so so. HEB Sushiya is better and cheaper. The taste of the sushi and sashimi are not as fresh. The rolls were also not satisfying. First time we ate there, I even saw 2 girls leave the sushi bar with more than 50% of their rolls not eaten. Husband tried the fried rice but he said it was just meh and had better ones before. We have also tried the deluxe combination $35-$45 and it was okay but not worth the expensive tag price~the portion is small and would be better if they add more lo mein and vegetables. Some server are really nice and some are just okay. Had high hopes for this restaurant but would rather drive to Weatherford or Keller to get my sushi fix. read more

Food is pretty good just a little over priced for the low quantity. I wish they would provide more food when it's $15-$20 a meal. Other than that, the food is good and the staff is great and I love the interior designs but again they just don't offer a lot of food especially for the high prices. read more

Meh! 1 star for the edamame... 1 star for the server's personality. The service, though friendly and attentive, wasn't really up to par for a sushi place as we had to ask for things that should be on every table, every day! The food, though visually attractive, had no personality. The atmosphere was very bland and not remotely complementary to the cuisine. We'll stick with our regular spot down the street... read more

We had Grace as our server tonight and she was such a sweetheart. She was quick and constantly moving, overall just a wonderful server. She truly made our experience here amazing. We enjoyed the food and would recommend it to others in stephenville. read more

My friend and our two daughters went in on a Wednesday night. It was not busy, but seemed short staffed. The hosts had us wait in the foyer area for a table to be cleaned off and I believe they forgot about us and sat another group that walked in after. They sat us about 5 minutes after I let them know we were still in the foyer area. The server was super sweet, but you can tell she needed to learn the menu better. The first thing that came to the table was the California roll. The rice was over cooked and mushy instead of properly cooked sticky white rice. It wasn't given the proper cooling time prior to them using it to make the sushi rolls. The next thing was edamame, it was cooked well and seasoned with salt. (Hard to go wrong with this one) Then I ordered another app that arrived with our meal instead, it was the tuna tataki prepared med rare. Cooked and seasoned perfect, had a little spiciness to it but it was served different from the menu picture. The menu shows it as it coming thinly sliced by itself and instead it was cubed and served over spinach leaves with a sesame like dressing. Overall it was good, just not as pictured. For my entree I ordered the beef with broccoli. The beef was not trimmed well and had a lot of gristle and overall the dish was lacking flavor. My daughter had the kids hibachi chicken and she liked the chicken but the noodles seemed overcooked and bland and the fried rice that came with it looked like brown rice and nothing more. I know they have newly opened and hope they get more consistent with everything, because it would be nice to have a restaurant like this in town. read more

It's our first time ordering out and it was terrible. It wasn't packaged properly that my ramen soup was leaking and as we came to our house the bag ripped opened on the bottom. Luckily most of the soup and food survived in their packages. I got pork soup and my bf got the teriyaki chicken with fried rice. They forgot the fried rice and the sauce was watered down. The soup was good until I had a bite of the pork that comes with it and it tasted as if its almost spoiled. They gave me meat that wasn't fresh but passable to think I wouldn't notice. Unfortunately the upset stomach is saying otherwise. Not sure if coming back is worth the money. read more

We had the best experience from start to finish. Arrived at 6:45pm on a Sunday. Got a drink at the bar with a great bartender while waiting for our table. Then we went to hibachi where our waiter was so friendly and made balloon animals for my kiddo. Our hibachi chef was really interactive and kid friendly! Lots of tricks! Overall we had a great time! read more

First time. Last time. Hibachi food just ok. The chef was awesome. I just made the mistake of using the ladies room first. DISGUSTING DIRTY. When I brought it to the attention of staff, they were aware of it, said nobody cleans it, and they go next door to use the bathroom. YUCK!!! All I could think was, "Does anyone clean the kitchen?!?!?" read more

I used to work here. There's no standards taught. It appeared to me to be a high risk of food poisoning or an allergy incident since food including raw fish is not properly stored and things like their spicy mayo sit out on the counter unrefrigerated all day. Maybe they've fixed it all since I laid in to them about it when I left, not sure if you want to risk it? Just go eat at Enoki sushi .5 miles away instead. read more

The food was horrible. We had sesame chicken and sweet-and-sour chicken. It was awful and the fried rice was just white rice with soy sauce or something poured over it. The egg rolls were pretty good. We had 2 cokes. The bill was $55. Waiter was nice. Everything was clean. The food was the game changer. Won't be back. read more

Been here twice. First time at 12:15 and they were not seating yet. They open at 12:00 on Sunday but we're not ready so I left. 2nd time had a short wait for seating. Asked questions about menu items and waitress had to go ask. Specifically asked about chili oil which I love. After asking the manager she said they did have it. Ordered a dish I only like with chili oil. Wife ordered a special and was pleased with her dish. I ordered egg rolls and they were delivered to the table. No soy sauce on the table. By the time she came back and went and got the soy sauce the egg rolls were cold. LoMein arrived and then they didn't have chili oil she said manager told her they did have. Had them box it to go and I paid and left. I will not be back. Wife ate the LoMein for lunch the next day and said it was ok? read more

I went to visit my daughter (Tarleton student) & adopted daughter and spend the day with them today. They wanted to go here. Food was really good. Upon arrival, plenty of open seats, greeted by an annoyed younger lady, sat down and waited! then waited, then waited! I felt eyes on me the whole time and low and behold a woman was focused in on me that worked there, evidently she didn't want me there. we waited a total of 20 minutes and went to Enoki across the parking lot. I will not be back, they walked pat me too many times, their prices are sky high and the service is sub par! I will continue to venture across the parking lot and tip the same bunch that has been there a while. this place will be a notch on the belt of this once great town. read more
