Pros- Food was very hot which was great. Lunch special was very fairly priced. Shaggy dog roll was good. Green curry chicken soup was good, a lot and fresh. Cons- Tea tasted off, wrong or spoiled. I had the calamari and it was chewy rings. Too chewy so you had to eat the whole thing at one time bc it wouldn't break. Had the Karrage chicken (little fried chicken pieces). Again tuff and mystery dark meat. Over all it was ok. The lunch specials were priced nicely. Place was clean. I didn't leave feeling overly impressed. Lots of items on the menu that cover more than sushi so who knows maybe something on the menu is better. I like the other place in town better. But this place might be worth a try for you. read more

I ordered Hibachi Shrimp, with fried rice, grilled veggies, a house salad and clear soup for $11.99- a bargain lunch, but the service and food were far above your run of the mill Stephenville restaurant. I got a to-go box because it was more than i could eat! They have a full bar here and a personal sushi chef for guests at the sushi bar. So first off, the place looks closed and uninviting, but it is open. The waitstaff doesn't know the menu and the prices are way too high. The sushi rolls were bland and ultra tiny! The rice on the rolls were soggy and not sticky. The fried rice looks like brown rice and has very little flavor. They served one soy sauce plate for the two of us to use even though my girlfriend told the waitress she was allergic to the shellfish roll I ordered. The rolls came out first and my dads meal came out 5 minutes later with the rice. He stated that his meal was horrible and made a statement to the waitress that acknowledged his complaint and walked off. Then it took forever to get the check. Very disappointed in food, quality, staff, and prices. I'm used to eating Sushi in Austin and it's cheaper there! Great Food & Service, we did Hibachi last night and a few sushi rolls. We had 2 kids with us and the Hibachi Chef was great, very entertaining and included them, they loved the food tossing and fire volcano. We tried the chicken hibachi, Shaky Dog, Hawaiian roll & Sexy Beach roll. The kids loved the Shaky dog roll. I thought the Sexy Beach was flavorful. We ate at the hibachi grill. The chef was very entertaining and put on a great show. Our son had never been before and he said it was the best food he's ever eaten. Only thing I like here is the grilled calamari. The sushi, sashimi, rolls are below mediocre to mediocre at best. Have tried eating a few times to see if it would improve but still just so so. HEB Sushiya is better and cheaper. The taste of the sushi and sashimi are not as fresh. The rolls were also not satisfying. First time we ate there, I even saw 2 girls leave the sushi bar with more than 50% of their rolls not eaten. Husband tried the fried rice but he said it was just meh and had better ones before. We have also tried the deluxe combination $35-$45 and it was okay but not worth the expensive tag price~the portion is small and would be better if they add more lo mein and vegetables. Some server are really nice and some are just okay. Had high hopes for this restaurant but would rather drive to Weatherford or Keller to get my sushi fix. read more

My friend and our two daughters went in on a Wednesday night. It was not busy, but seemed short staffed. The hosts had us wait in the foyer area for a table to be cleaned off and I believe they forgot about us and sat another group that walked in after. They sat us about 5 minutes after I let them know we were still in the foyer area. The server was super sweet, but you can tell she needed to learn the menu better. The first thing that came to the table was the California roll. The rice was over cooked and mushy instead of properly cooked sticky white rice. It wasn't given the proper cooling time prior to them using it to make the sushi rolls. The next thing was edamame, it was cooked well and seasoned with salt. (Hard to go wrong with this one) Then I ordered another app that arrived with our meal instead, it was the tuna tataki prepared med rare. Cooked and seasoned perfect, had a little spiciness to it but it was served different from the menu picture. The menu shows it as it coming thinly sliced by itself and instead it was cubed and served over spinach leaves with a sesame like dressing. Overall it was good, just not as pictured. For my entree I ordered the beef with broccoli. The beef was not trimmed well and had a lot of gristle and overall the dish was lacking flavor. My daughter had the kids hibachi chicken and she liked the chicken but the noodles seemed overcooked and bland and the fried rice that came with it looked like brown rice and nothing more. I know they have newly opened and hope they get more consistent with everything, because it would be nice to have a restaurant like this in town. read more

It's our first time ordering out and it was terrible. It wasn't packaged properly that my ramen soup was leaking and as we came to our house the bag ripped opened on the bottom. Luckily most of the soup and food survived in their packages. I got pork soup and my bf got the teriyaki chicken with fried rice. They forgot the fried rice and the sauce was watered down. The soup was good until I had a bite of the pork that comes with it and it tasted as if its almost spoiled. They gave me meat that wasn't fresh but passable to think I wouldn't notice. We went in when the restaurant wasn't busy, but was active enough. It took a couple of minutes for the 5 or so people standing around to finish their conversation and come greet us. The sushi was warm, which was concerning since it had raw fish. The menu had ramen listed, but the waiter said they do not actually serve it. We ordered $32 worth of food for each person and it was difficult to get down. The steak was over cooked and almost impossible to chew (lots of fat) but cool to the touch, the rice was like soup, and nothing had any flavor. Part of our order was missing when the waiter originally brought our food. We finally got some of the missing items, but left without ever receiving some side dishes we had ordered. We asked an employee a question and they turned away and walked off without saying a word. Once it was time to pay, our card was misplaced and we had to wait about 10 minutes for the waiter to find it and bring it back to us. The restaurant itself was decorated tastefully, but it was difficult to hear each other speak through the sound of dishes being thrown around. This does explain why all of our dishes in this new restaurant had large chunks missing. Overall, it was disappointing and we spent the rest of the day going to the restroom after eating here. We had heard all negative reviews from friends and family but went anyway thinking they were too critical. They were right on this one. read more
