I love Thai District! The food is delicious and full of authentic Thai flavors. The service is great, and I really love the atmosphere and beautiful Thai-inspired decor. Everything feels very cultural and welcoming. Definitely a great place to enjoy Thai food!

Thai District is excellent. The restaurant is decorated quite well. You feel the vibes of Thailand for sure. The service was incredible - Timely, thorough, and friendly. The food was fresh, flavorful, and served in good portions - Phenomenal. I have spent time in Thailand. I have had very good Thai food over the years and from across the globe. I can say that Thai District has some of the very best Thai food that I have enjoyed, hands down. Add their place to your list of must tries! You won't regret it.

Great date night or friend gathering. Best Thai Food! Love the atmosphere here. My must stop at while in Long Beach or nearby. Plus they have a bar and not just beer and wine.

By far one of the best thai places I have had in long beach. if you're looking for a good thai place with authentic and good quality food with an amazing ambiance this is the right place! I have to say the soft shell crab curry was one of the best Thai dishes i have tried and i am still craving it after trying it here. The thai tea float is also a must have! Amazing service and if you're unsure what to get they will help you decide. Cant wait to be back!

A lovely spot to enjoy thai cuisine. Friendly staff with attentive service. I highly recommend the golden bag, which is crab stuffed cream cheese in wonton. They made sure the crab was the star instead of the cream cheese Their green curry was well balanced with the coconut milk, with eggplant and bamboo, enhancing the texture. I had chicken as the protein, which was a good amount. My coworker annihilated the Kao Soi, so that means you gotta try!

The inside of this restaurant is cool with good, dark vibes. Service was super attentive and friendly. The food I got was good but nothing crazily flavorful. The drunken noodle needed more basil and more salt. The cucumber salad was solid, but again nothing too impressive. It's a solid Thai place near a bunch of hotels, so it's a good option if you're stuck in the area.

FOOD - glass noodle salad is perfect if you're looking to squeeze in vegetables without just the greens - golden bags/crab rangoons were perfectly crispy and soft/flavorfuk filling DRINKS - thai tea tastes authentic and is refreshing - lychee white sangria has a perfect balance of sweetness as the fruit doesn't overpower the drink - matai is perfect for a hot day and is one of the most popular drinks SERVICE - didn't get names but our server whom is a lady went above and beyond as i came in the last hour on a tuesday night - a young boy/teenager was insisting on taking plates/cups away when there were food/drinks left over... this threw me off BEWARE OF PARKING - located in downtown long beach so prepare time to find parking

Love love love this spot!!! The sautéed dishes are amazing! I love the crispy pork belly with peanuts and spinach-it's so unique and delicious!!!y office is nearby and we order takeout often and I opted for the pork belly and shrimp pad Thai with a side of their mouthwatering peanut sauce. We order the golden bags, and crispy spring rolls and both were sooo good!!! Perfect order every time with no mistakes or issues. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful! Street metered parking with a patio and two floors for seating. Service is phenomenal and the food is consistently a 10/10. You must go if you love Thai food!

What a great spot! Staff is friendly and service is quick, food is fantastic (definitely recommend the soft shell crab curry), and the ambiance is casual with Thai flare.

Thai district has been recommended to me soooo many times, and we finally got to try it out. Wow, this spot has such a great ambiance. It's the perfect dinner restaurant for a cozy, yet upscale date night. It's dim lighting, comfortable seating, and great service. We started off with the wings as our appetizers and Thai teas as our drinks!! The wings were crispy and flavorful. I loveeee wings so I was really happy that they were so good. The Thai tea was really good as well, it wasn't super sweet which I was a big fan of. The presentation was also done so nicely. We ordered the yellow curry and drunken noodles and both items did not disappoint. Something about yellow curry is truly just so comforting to me, and the noodles were melt in your mouth delicious. Btw, the yellow curry doesn't come with rice so you'll have to order it separately (which is what we did). All in all, I cannot wait to come back here.. this place is so delicious and truly hit all of the rankings for me in each category.

i have been here too many times to count and i only get 1 thing: gaeng hung lay. it's savory, hearty, and full of spice. i love the thick pieces of meat, garlic, ginger slices, and peanuts for that extra crunch. it comes with purple rice! the servers are very sweet and helpful with the menu. i love the wood carved door decor and the lanterns everywhere. can't wait to come back and order my favorite dish ever.

If you're going for the vibe and excellent service, Thai District is a very cute spot. However, the food itself was a bit of a letdown. The flavors are very mild and it feels heavily catered to a more Western palate. None of the dishes packed that authentic, bold punch, and the heat level was definitely not true Thai spicy. It's a nice restaurant overall, but if you want authentic Thai food, you should probably look elsewhere.

Coconut soup is delicious with medium spice and soft tofu. Had you ew ice, nice change from pad Thai, balance of noodles greens and seafood. Restaurant was full and busy but did not feel overly crowded. Service was prompt and efficient with water refills and empty plate pickups at regular intervals. Sticky rice was that interesting dessert with a base of rice in a sweet blob, a a scoop of mango sorbet on top, and trimmed with pieces of fresh mango. Quite an eclectic collection that didn't really work for me but I could see why it was popular.

No curries in most Thai restaurants don’t come with rice, the specialty items will have rice as well as Lunch specials. Cheers

Yes almost our entire menu is or can be. Just mention it to your server, we are closed until Tuesday.…

Do you have gluten free options available?

    Yes Amanda, dog friendly. Cheers

I would like to know do we need to show our vaccination card to dine in?

No it is not required. Thank you

What is the Tom kah soup made with? I have a family member with some food allergies and would like to double check. All I was able to read was coconut, mushrooms, and tofu. Any answers would be greatly appreciate. Thanks!

Yes it is made with coconut milk, lime juice, lemongrass, galanga (ginger’s family), lime leaves, fish sauce, mushrooms, you can chose the proteins like chicken, beef, pork, tofu, vegetables etc… topped with cilantro…

Is the chicken organic (free of hormones and free of antibiotics) and not frozen?

Thank you for your question, it is not organic like all Thai restaurants but it is fresh, we only buy black label quality, it never disappoints. Cheers.

Are all of the food cooked in peanut oil?

No peanut oil in our kitchen we only use canola oil which is the healthiest one.

What should I do about my order not being delivered tonight?

What is the difference between Kai Kua and Pad See Ew noodles?

Hi, They both are the same wide flat noodles the Kai Kia has beans sprouts and garlic, the Pad See Eww is stir fried with sweet soy sauce both come with fried egg and both are mild in flavor, I like to say if one is not too familiar with Thai food…

It's clear the owners put a lot of thought and creativity into making their cocktails the centerpiece of the experience. That said, the execution didn't live up to the concept. The menu appears to rotate regularly, and while the drinks were certainly unique, most of the cocktails we tried were hit or miss. At roughly $22 per drink, I expected more balance and refinement. One cocktail started with flavors reminiscent of an Old Fashioned, but after the initial sip, the combination of bitters and fruit syrups created an unpleasant cough syrup like finish. We tried a mocktail as well, and it was mostly ice and soda water, with what seemed like a collection of syrups doing most of the heavy lifting. The drinks were creative, but many of the flavor profiles felt disjointed rather than intentional. The biggest issue, however, was the bar service and sanitation practices. I watched a bartender place a cucumber garnish into a glass using his bare hands, touching the entire garnish in the process. He then continued to take credit cards, cash, and other items before stuffing ice into additional drinks with his bare hands. Whether or not this technically violates health code standards, it certainly wasn't appetizing to watch and left a poor impression. Parking is another challenge. There is no dedicated parking, and unless you get lucky, expect to park several blocks away and walk. Overall, the atmosphere is a lot of fun and the cocktail menu is ambitious, but the drinks didn't justify the price point, and the sanitation concerns were hard to overlook. I wouldn't rush back, especially given the cost and parking difficulties.

Here you can actually taste the ingredients they describe and somehow work really well together. And it's not just one or two drinks that feel unique and interesting it's basically their whole menu. Most recent time we went was when they had a guest bartender (Polo Chang). Some of the best cocktails I've had recently. I'm a huge fan of tea in cocktail his menu was amazing. We got way more drinks than we usually do that night because each one was better than the last. Only thing tho I really wish they kept their old menu. The drawings were beautiful and it had so much character while very easily communicating how each drink will look and taste. It went so well with the overall vibe of the place. But I may just be nitpicking because I have hard time reading the new dark menu in the dim light lolol I honestly would come here wayyyy more often if it wasn't for the very limited parking. We sat at the bar, and I expected to receive service from the bartender, but he didn't acknowledge us for the entire night. Instead, our server took our order. After a while, she informed us that the crispy rice we ordered was sold out. She mentioned that the bartender was supposed to let us know, but he never did. What made the experience more uncomfortable was that the bartender seemed to be giving most of his attention to the Caucasian customers on the other side of the bar. We were the only Asian customers there, and unfortunately, this left us feeling like we were being treated differently because of our race. The good food and drinks helped compensate for the poor service, so we decided not to let it ruin our evening. However, things got even more disappointing at the end. After I paid, I noticed that I had been charged for the crispy rice even though we never received it. When our server tried to address the issue, the bartender appeared to ignore both her and us, so we eventually left. I hope management sees this review and reaches out to me to address the overcharge and the overall experience. Overall, although the food and drinks were good, the service and the way we were treated left a very negative impression. Unfortunately, I will not be returning.

We stopped by late Saturday night and were able to snag an immediate walk-in at the bar at Hao Peng You, which is the intimate speakeasy portion of Midnight Oil. The decor definitely reminded me of my grandparents' house in Taiwan, with vintage, ornate wooden chairs, dragon/lion statue carvings, and even a historic century old marital bed that had been repurposed into a booth. The drinks were also VERY unique, with my favorite being Hua sheng (literally meaning peanut), which was crafted from a nostalgic childhood peanut milk drink. All our cocktails were crafted very well, to the point where I thought they were a bit on the lighter side since I couldn't really taste the alcohol. This section does get really busy though and only had one bartender who is making/serving drinks and taking orders, so do expect a bit of a wait. Honestly thought it was the bar that we came inside. First impression, why did we need reservations.... Since we didn't know the hidden entrance. Well, it's a cool concept once we entered. There's a dress code so be advised. What I found out was the entrance of the speakeasy was through a phone booth that next to the pool table of Roxanne's bar. Once reservations is made, you'll received an email with a password to enter. Enter phone booth and to connect to the inside and they'll open the door for you. We had the first reservations I believe they opened at 7pm. We were the first group to arrive. As it was my first time, we had ordered bar food and were waiting for it inside the main bar. So half an hour was used from our time limit. The speakeasy, dark and moody but perfect for the place. Special crafted cocktails by the bartenders which were great. They also have food as well, found out later. We did try the meat pie, which it was just ok. Basically an empanadas, the pickle veggies accompanied it was my favorite. It was good but nothing major to rave about. The drinks were quite nice and tasty. What they offered on the menu did have a load of good choices. Tables scattered throughout as well as bar seating. There's a piano which maybe used for live music. Overall, the moody speakeasy vibe was great. Friendly staff and bartender made some great drinks. What we had to snack on, the meat pie was just ok. They're very strict with the time limits. Once it's reached they'll let you know.

Honestly for a super cute speakeasy, the drinks were very lackluster and not really well thought…read moreout. I expected to pay so much for cocktails that don't really seem balanced or designed with intent. It also took a very long time to receive drinks, the bartender seemed more into doing his sub par flair than getting drinks out at a decent time. Definitely not coming back, such a waste of money and time.

So this is a review that's been a *long* time coming (I've just been chronically overwhelmed for an…read moreequally long time.) I haven't been here often, but I *was* here right around when they opened, wherein I determined that the food ranged from quality but a bit overpriced, to just overpriced, a feeling I would still hold, generally speaking. Great vibe, solid service, but maybe a little pretentiously priced (and/or it's just stupid expensive to run a restaurant in this area, granted.) And with *super* pretentiously-priced cocktails, for how relatively simple they mostly are (if I'm gonna spend $18+ plus tip on a drink, I expect Baby Gee-level cocktails.) They also had an impressive wall of craft beer on tap, but also a bit pricey, especially compared to places not on 2nd street, so there was never a particular *draw*. But then I never actually finished reviewing it, because I'm super behind. Anyway, then also not particularly recently, they launched a happy hour, which at the time, especially for this particular part of Long Beach, was pretty stupidly good, with $5 decent sized smashburgers (6 with cheese, 10 with cheese and also fries), as well as $5 craft beer, pretty much all of them, including the fancy, exciting stuff (exciting if you're a nerd like me, the barrel aged stuff, for instance). They also had one specific half hour at the time, which I'd like to immortalize as a super fun idea, where one specific cheap but craft beer was some stupid price, I think like a dollar, but since they had a whole wall of rotating craft beer, a *different* specific cheap craft beer any given day. That's not relevant at all to my current review, but it was fun. Anyway, I still didn't write a review like a year ago when I took advantage of that happy hour, though I did take advantage of it a solid couple of times. Skip forward again to just a few weeks ago, I happened to be attending an event in the general area again, an event that was going to involve more alcohol than food and for which having a happy-hour-timed dinner in the area was going to be useful, so I figured I'd check out whether the happy hour was still there, and it was. At least as of a few weeks ago, the happy hour (3-6 weekdays) was still a thing, and it had gone up a whopping 55 cents per item. Ends up being effectively ~$17 plus tip for a quality smashburger, quality fries and a craft beer, though they didn't have as *many* of the fancy (barrel-aged or equivalent) stuff as they had the first time, they did still have some, and it was still $5.55 for any beer on draft they had. So happy hour wise, that's a pretty good price for this part of the country, I'd say. Obviously only since the burgers and fries *are* also absolutely quality burgers and fries. Not quite as wonderful as my gold standard smashburger at The Stache, perhaps, but still a great smashburger. My opinion on spending almost 20 bucks for what is effectively still just an old fashioned, hasn't changed, though. :p
