Thai Cottage is OK. The ambiance is nice and the people are super friendly. I've watched the prices just go up, up, up since they've opened but the food quality hasn't gone with those prices. So I don't go here as often as I used to. Maybe once a month now versus once a week in years past. We only live 2 blocks away so I should give them another try. But seriously, I'll drive to another town to get better Thai food for more reasonable prices if I have to. If I do go, it will be for the red curry lunch special. Today we ate at this restaurant again. We have eaten here a couple of times before. I had Pad Thai and my husband ate a chicken and vegetable dish both of which are on the lunch menu. We were not disappointed. The food was very good and the staff attentive. The price is comparable and the setting typical for this type of food. I would recommend it. read more

I took my mom here for lunch on a Saturday afternoon after walking around the shops for bit. We had just gotten there before the lunch rush. I ordered us their house salad that has tiny chunks of tofu, their peanut sauce was thick for salad dressing. The tofu cook have been cooked more. Also, we shared their Thai Pad, it was nothing special, it came way to quick. So it sat there, while we just got our salad. By the time we got to eating it, it was semi warm. Not the greatest! The rice noodles were mushy, sauce was too sugary and it was so plain. No egg, green onion, idk. read more

I'm obsessed with this place. Their Crispy Garlic Chicken is soooo good. We ordered takeout for dinner last night and I kept telling my kids "eat more vegetables" (the Cottage Garden, which is good too) and "how 'bout more rice?", but what I really meant was "stay away from my chicken!' The staff is friendly & quick & the food is soo good. I get the pad see ew with chicken or a special noddle dish they have that is wide noodles with vegetables and chicken (or whatever meat you choose) in a spicy sriracha sauce. The food always comes out quick, fresh, and hot and I usually end up with enough leftovers for another meal. read more

I have never had anything other than great food here and was reminded how good it was yesterday when I stopped by for some Thai Basil with Tofu. The vegetables were crispy and the sauce was good. My lunch companion had the same but with beef and also enjoyed her meal very much. We both really enjoyed their jasmine tea as well. The service was wonderful and even though I hadn't been in for almost a year, the owner still recognized me and made me feel special. They may charge for rice but the meal was well worth it and if you go to lunch during the weekdays as I used to, they have a great deal which includes an entree, rice and soup for a very reasonable price. And they are happy to change out the white rice for brown. read more

Great neighborhood Thai spot! Delicious food & incredible service.

Despite having had a few bad meals here in the past, I decided to give Thai Cottage another try. What a mistake. I ordered the soft rolls, which I have found to be a safe bet at any Thai restaurant, but these soft rolls were so bad that they were almost inedible. Instead of being wrapped in rice paper, as stated in the menu, they were wrapped in uncooked, dried out eggroll dough. The filling was almost exclusively soggy bean sprouts. There was a tiny sliver of tofu, but it was barely detectable. And to paraphrase an old joke...the food was terrible, and the servings were so tiny! Each roll was about the size of two small fingers. The charge for this culinary disaster was $6.50, which was an outrageous charge for such garbage. For about the same price you can get a magnificent order of large delectable fresh rolls at places such as Thai Ocean in Seattle. My dining companion said her very small portion of Green Curry was adequate, but she was astonished that she had to pay extra for a small bowl of rice to accompany the curry. It is bad enough to be nickel and dimed for good food, but for bad food it is absurd. My advice to anyone who is considering eating at this restaurant is to try almost any other restaurant in downtown Edmonds for a better dining experience. read more

I go here for lunch during work as the food comes out quick! Don't understand the review complaints about food coming out too fast? Doesn't seem like a negative to me. I usually order the pad thai with chicken, or the combo C chicken with peanut sauce on spinach with rice and noodles. Both are great. They serve soup while you're waiting for your food which is nice especially when you're starving. read more

We normally have liked this local Thai restaurant. Staff is great and always helpful, but I think the speed of food arrival says something about the freshness. Had the house prawn Thai cottage and it was very bland and tasted old and reheated, prawns mushy, eggs mushy as well. The cashew chicken was also bland and the cashews were old, definitely not fresh. The service is always great and extremely fast. They do get a bit annoying when they ask you every two min how the food is and if you need anything, sometimes I want to just eat without being bombarded with questions constantly. I also don't care for the fact that if you ask for rice, they give you a teeny teeny cup of it and charge you for it. The taste is always great for all the dishes I have tried however. read more

Stopped here for lunch the other day before catching a ferry. The lunch special was a nice deal, it comes with rice, pad Thai, soup and a serving of a few entree choices for $9 I believe. I had the Rama tofu with spinach. Generous portions made for good leftovers. The server overheard me mentioning my dad's birthday and brought us a complimentary scoop of coconut ice cream! She brought it out with a candle and sang happy birthday, the ice cream was delicious. Great spot in downtown Edmonds. read more

This was my first thai expirience, except for some place in anacortez, i would recomend it!

I went there for a Sunday lunch around 2 pm. whole time when I was dining, new customers kept coming in but the place was quiet enough. the service was quick and friendly even when they were busy. My Tom yum goong soup was very good and the shrimp were decent size and numbers. many Thai place make this soup very sweet which I don't like but this place made it perfect balance of sweetness and sourness. My red curry was not overly rich with coconut cream and it had a lot of vegetable and chicken pieces which cooked nicely . Beef salad tastes good too. beef was tender. I wished there was a little more amount of it. Basil fried rice was cooked well too. it wasn't greasy. this dish also had a lot of vegetable and chicken pieces. What I liked this place best was their seasoning of food was well balanced of everything. nothing was too much. The each ingredients were cooked in the right timing and kept nice texture. I am not local of this area but I would like to go there again if I have chance to come near by. read more

Called in order, gave cc # because someone else was picking up order. They took wrong phone number and wrong cc number (language barrier or something) so instead of making the food and getting correct info when the person picked it up they publicly humiliated the person picking up, didn't make the food and it was a big order too. When I found out and called to find out why the food wasn't made they said we can make now and you can come pick up. Like really I'm going to make a second trip and give business to you when you didn't do it the first time and humiliated my friend! Seriously! So good! I've always gotten orders to go so I can't say how the service is. My to go orders have always been fast and accurate though. Their good is incredible. I usually get the Veggie Thai Fried Rice and it's the perfect lunch. Not oily, tons of big fresh vegetables an their Pad Thai is not bland what so ever. This restaurant took service to a whole new levels. I can't sing their praises enough. Not only was the food great, the service during our meal great, but the staff also when way above and beyond the call of duty for me afterwards. I lost my purse and didn't know where. When I went back to check the restaurant, it was already closed. I flew back home early the next morning (with the challendge of no id, no credit cards, no keys, no phone, etc). Luckily, the staff found my purse., Chayaninh at Thai Cottage contacted me, and at my request put my purse in the mail to me. I tried to gift her money to thank her for this great kindness. She refused. She considered this kindness part of taking care of me as one of her customers. Wow. read more
