Overall, this is a good place to eat. It is situated in a small shopping area across from a nursery. The decoration in the restaurant is nice and the place has a clean and comfortable feel to it. The menu is not expensive but has a good selection of basic Thai food as well as a nice number of options. Overall our experience eating here was pleasant. But four stars is about the most I can give. Not exceptional. I would actually give it about 3.5 but this is a relatively new place I think so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. FOOD: Good. Completely solid Thai food. The yellow curry (by which I judge all Thai restaurants) was only okay. But their pad thai was flavorful and with great texture. The selection was not as extensive as some Thai restaurants and interestingly they had some different appetizers that didn't seem to fit in but sounded good anyway like calamari. SERVICE: Again good but not great. Considering we were the only people in the restaurant we probably shouldn't have had to ask for water or anything but the service was nice and friendly and quick. Food came out hot and in good time. And we didn't feel rushed. And they actually have a parking lot although curiously it was almost full even though the restaurant was pretty empty. I'm sure other local businesses use it too. COST: Reasonable. The curry was about $10 and the pad thai was about $14. read more

Choose this Thai restaurant based on reviews on Yelp. With a perfect 5 Star rating it wasn't wrong. What terrific food. We came in around 1pm on a Sunday and had no wait. We ordered several items figuring we would end up with some food leftover to-go. We ordered Spring Rolls, Calamari, Emerald Eggplant, Pad Thai, Pumkin Curry and Beef Penang Curry. We meant to order spicy string beans but forgot to. The Emerald Eggplant comes with chicken and shrimp. It was the star of the table but didn't outshine the other items by much. It was all very good. I like my Penang curry a little on the spicier side but, no knock on this. I will just order it with a higher level of spice next time. The plate presentation of the food is very nice, and the quantity and price value were right on target. The service was pleasant and timely. If you like Thai food I would suggest this restaurant. Good take out! Was in Berkeley and craving Thai. Gave Thai Corner a chance because it's right across the way from my friends place. Their menu has all the classics which is good. Really wanted pad see ew and was happy they had it on their menu. Their food is a bit pricey but the flavor was well worth it. Was ready in 15 minutes and portion was on the heavier side. Flavor was right. It also came with a fresh chili sauce on the side I've never had before. Had bell peppers in it. Added a nice crunch to my noodles. I inhaled everything in about 5 minutes. The fried mushroom salad is good. They have sticky rice. I say, if the fried calamari is tender, the place is excellent. The calamari was chewy. But this place is in my neighborhood. Quality and original flavors at this new restaurant. The Interiors have been redone in modern style fashion wood table seating. It's a wonderful place with big windows and nice people working here. The crispy prawn dish was listed as gluten free. After a couple of bites, I grew suspicious and called the restaurant who confirmed that it was NOT gluten free. I noticed Thai corner was under new management a few months ago, and had been wanting to try it out. Yesterday we were enticed to finally eat there by noticing the delicious plate of pad thai a man was enjoying at a table by the window. We were not disappointed! My husband ordered the lunch special, spicy eggplant, which came with crab rangoon, rice, and a small salad, and I had the pad thai with tofu. Both were beautifully presented and were absolutely delicious! They had a curated selection of tasty beers on tap and I had a generous pour of Kim Crawford sauvignon blanc. This is a solid Thai spot in the area and at a good price. I've only been for lunch, but at around $12 a lunch you get a nice portion of yum. They don't do salad and soup with lunch, so if you are expecting that complementary extra you might need to head to a pricier place. I had the panang curry and it was very flavorful and had copious amounts of fresh veggies. Hubby had the coconut soup and said it's one of his favorites. Came here for lunch on a weekday around 1 PM. Got seated right away as there were only a few other parties dining as well. We ordered the Pad Kee Mao and Som Tom and split the two dishes. The portions seemed smaller than other similar restaurants, but we both left satisfied. I just had lunch today at the newly re-opened Thai Corner, under new ownership. The food, ambiance and service were all enjoyable. The new owner, Palm, served me, and she is very intent on providing a good experience to guests. I had the lunch special, with brown rice ($1 extra), chicken satay appetizer with a tasty peanut sauce, green salad with a tasty dressing, and my entree was mixed vegetables with ginger which I liked. Good flavor of the vegetables with ginger. Nice presentation of food on a ceramic tray. The total, including tax but before tip, was $19.85. The Pad Thai was alright. The only downsides were the portion and the five (5) pieces of chicken. I ordered through GrubHub, in which the prices are roughly $2 more than what is listed on their website. When a new restaurant opens, bring your patience. All new teams need time to sync. I came in at 6:30 on Wednesday to order food to go, which is Berkekey's dining "bewitching hour". When I left the place was completely full. It did take almost 30 minutes for my order to arrive, but I was checked in on and offered a beverage more than once. The owner, Mark, was gracious. The staff are still finding their rhythm but attentive and eager to please. The food is delicious and of high quality. The beef salad was my favorite of the 6 dishes we ordered - incredible picante flavor with tender beef. We also had an exceptional pra ram, and the sauces served with dishes (even the peanut sauce) were a step above. We will be back soon. I imagine a 5 star review will be in their future with us once they hit their "service stride". We wish our neighbors the best! It would be great if they are able to put a few tables outside later down the road. And we are happy to hear a liquor license application is in process. read more

I'm so happy this place finally opened!! I've been driving by this location for months now dying to try. I came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and ordered a Thai ice tea, pad see ew with beef, and the green curry with chicken. All portions were a little smaller than most Thai places, which was perfect!! The resturant is clean, and simple decorations. Very modern. Service was super quick, although when we ordered we were the only ones in the resturant. All prices are very reasonable and all dishes tasted great! I will definitely be returning. On the second day of the grand opening and with much anticipation for another quality neighborhood restaurant to add to the list, we went to Thai Corner. The food was very good, but the dining experience was not good. The staff was obviously inexperienced and flustered and frustrated and perhaps not enough for the small size ? the food did not come out of the kitchen with any pace. we ordered an appetizer and they were out at 6:30 pm day 2. we ordered lemon grass tea and they said they would check to see if they had any. they never returned with the answer and when we asked they brought regular Thai iced tea. there was no communication between the staff regarding the request. we ordered and after the appetizers and first entree, we were presented with the check. we said we never received the fourth dish (a chicken salad to finish the meal) and we wanted to look at the dessert menu BEFORE we paid. the dishwasher came out and started serving water to the new customers and refilled others. take out was a mess. wrong orders and slow wait time were apparent. other diners including families with children were quite frustrated by the lack of food coming out of the kitchen with any regularity. one family wanted to leave, but stayed with the promise of food service. we can only hope day 3, 4, 5 improves vastly. the food itself was good but an overall poor dining experience. This place use to be good. I don't know what happened! We ordered our usual Shrimp Pad Thai, Red Curry, Jasmine Rice and Chicken Satay. The Paid Thai had a bleach like flavor(not good). The Red Curry was runny with a few vegetables and a couple of pieces dark meat chicken. It was flavorless. In the past they always used white meat in the curry, which I prefer. Tossed the leftovers!
