My lunch w/ pad see euw w/ pork
    Toni M.

Nina and I met here for lunch today. We had tried to meet last week but they were closed for kitchen maintenance, so we ended up across the street. Today they were open and when I arrived Nina was sitting at a table w/ menus, a pot of tea and a dish of grapes in front of her. Mam led me to the table. I knew I wanted pad see euw w/ pork since I hadn't had it in a while. Nina opted for eggplant w/ pork from the lunch menu. Mam offered her a choice of ground pork or sliced and she chose sliced. There was also a dish of candied pistachios on the table and we snacked on those and the grapes until our meals came. The grapes were incredibly sweet and Nina said Mam had told her they were candy something. When our meals came we both loved them. They were both full of vegetables and were just what we wanted. You can see from the photos. After lunch we asked Mam about the grapes and she said they were called Candy Dream and were from Peru. She said the purple ones were better than the rest. When Nina expressed interest she gave us some and then offered to go to Costco, an offer Nina appreciated but declined. Mam walked me to the bathroom then out to my car. She is so lovely and makes me feel so cared about.

Service is really friendly, the lady was very attentive and very friendly :). The restaurant is really cute and in a nice area. I got the Lunch special red curry and it was so delish!! It came with a small side salad with a sesame type dressing. 8.5/10!

We eat a lot of Thai food and this is definitely one of the best! We had lunch as pictured and they bring a beautiful plate of food! White meat chicken with nice size prawns. Food is so fresh and delicious! I can wait to try more of the menu

This is easily one of my favorite restaurants in the Bay Area. I grew up in a Lao household and a family Thai Restaurant, therefore I'm always looking for food that either reminds me of home or widens my pallet. Not only does this restaurant provide quality and flavorful meals made with love, but it feels like home too. One of the employees named, "Mam", is such a sweetheart and never fails to warm up the space. I have gone to Thai Corner four times since December & each time has been extremely memorable. I recommend this place to all of my loved ones & to anyone who's looking to try gorgeous South East Asian flavors!!!!! I order new items whenever I go, and each meal has filled me with joy. The whole team fills me with happiness and I'm so grateful for this gem. I look forward to eating here at least once a month! Honorable mention meals: Thai Corner Special Curry (Braised Beef) Crispy Fried Chicken Rice Rice Claypot All dishes are so yummy and appreciated!

We decided to try this place because it got good reviews on Yelp and I am always looking for a good Thai place. The food was great. Everything we had was good and the service was also good. I would definitely come back and try other dishes.

** The following review reflects my delivery experience DURING the COVID-19 pandemic. ** No Khao Mun Gai at this Thai spot? OK, I'll live, but I did have my hopes up since its hippy-yuppy Westbrae location made me think poached chicken might be a local favorite to eat. I've seen this newish spot walking in the neighborhood but like every other restaurant on my mental wish list, the pandemic has allowed me - and everyone else - only the opportunity of experiencing delivery from them. I decided to order dinner for Jamie W. and me one evening, and we weren't disappointed. First things first, we went with the $8.75 Fresh Rolls for an appetizer because that's our go-to, hand-rolled rice paper stuffed with braised tofu, vermicelli noodles, carrot, cucumber, and lettuce, accompanied by the requisite peanut sauce and house dressing (photo: https://bit.ly/38mQeRC). Hit the spot. Check. Next came my Khao Mun Gai substitute, the $14 Garlic Chicken. The dish instead consisted of marinated chicken seasoned with garlic and pepper and served with cucumber slices and sriracha sauce (photo: https://bit.ly/3ph7YEX). It was tasty and close enough to meet my craving. Last was the $14 Som Tum Salad, the classic dish of shredded green papaya mixed in their house dressing with cherry tomatoes, green beans, peanuts, and a few grilled prawns (photo: https://bit.ly/34EyyQt). Good stuff even without the poached poultry. FOOD - 4 stars...Thai classics well turned AMBIANCE - n/a...gee, I don't know, never been there SERVICE - 4 stars...timely and well packed TOTAL - 4 stars...more than just a corner RELATED - Hungry for Thai? So when I…read morediscovered Little Plearn Thai by my alma mater that caters to the student budget, went all out for their holiday decor, I knew I had to stop by. Arrived with 10 min left for their HH discount so got their two mojito and sunrise mocktails and 3 appetizers, satay chicken, curry puff, and potstickers. Then onto their dinner menu of Moo Dang dry noodles and ginger sole before finishing off with one of their fun holiday drinks for dessert, the peppermint eggnog for just $8.50. Even the ones with alcohol were only $10-$11. For the price of a few drinks at a popup bar, we got drinks, dinner, and leftovers for lunch. Must be the Econ major in me.

The duck over rice was probably a 2/5 for me, and I definitely would not order it again. At first, I thought it was decent because my first bite was mostly sauce and rice, but once I tried the duck, it fell short. The skin was more slimy than flavorful, and the meat itself had a noticeable funk to it that made it seem lower quality. Luckily, the pumpkin curry saved the meal. I really enjoyed the flavor, and it was easily the better dish (still would rate it a 3/5 though). If you're like me, I'd skip the lunch special and just order the curry as a regular plate since I did not care much for the side salad or vegetarian spring roll. I'm not sure I'd go out of my way to come back since there are so many Thai restaurants to try in Berkeley, but Little Plearn is definitely a convenient option near campus, especially for students looking for a quick lunch.

The corn cakes were fried just right so they were golden on the outside but soft on the inside and the slaw and sweet sauce elevated it. I would get both appetizers again. For entrees we had: Mama Pad Kee Moa (3.5/5) - instant noodles with fresh veggies and very thin beef. Flavor was good, but the beef missed the mark because it was lacking. Massaman Gai Curry (5/5) - the curry was so flavorful in this dish and the soft potato complimented it very well. Definitely the winner of the night. Chicken Khao Pad (Fried Rice) (3/5) - rice was a little too dry and the thinly cut chicken again did not pop out in the dish. Overall, very fresh and authentic Thai dishes. Service was fast and attentive. There are plenty of seating options to dine in, but I also saw a lot of take out orders. The green curry noodles came with vermicelli, and I wanted to try it since it's what they recommend, but it just was not the right texture for the curry I felt. The flavor of the curry itself was not super flavorful. I felt like more coconut milk could have been added to coat the noodles more. The spring rolls were good. I enjoyed the peanut sauce. We also sat at the front by the door, and it was rather cold in that seat.

I've always wanted to dine at Sistory for brunch, but coming in the evening, it wasn't too busy. There was a steady flow of customers and take-out orders. The restaurant is warm, cozy, and quaint. There are several tables for pairs or parties of four, plus some artwork displayed. There was only one server who was juggling customers, but we were well taken care of. My best friend and I shared Roti Dip, Pad Thai with Chicken, and Yellow Curry with Tofu. The roti was so flaky and warm! The Pad Thai tasted good and was typical of the ones I've had. The curry was robust and flavorful! Being mild, it was a bit spicier than we had anticipated. So if you have a low spice tolerance, keep that in mind! We also got Thai Tea, which was refreshing! Portion sizes were good, and we took our leftovers to go. Sistory Thai Kitchen is an addition to the Albany and North Berkeley area. I wouldn't mind coming back to try their brunch!
