Dude, this place is delicious. It's also adorable, warm, and reasonably priced! Service was a 10/10. We ordered the southern Thai dry curry with pork and it was maybe the best thing I've ever tasted. Warm, healing curry spices stir fried with delicious pork, served with rice, omg. We also ordered the Pad Thai which was so hot and fresh from the wok and served with delicious jumbo prawns. Insane. Portions are huge, we both ate half and took half home. Had it for dinner a few hours later and it was even better than it had been at lunch! Can't stop/ won't stop thinking about these two dishes. Was in the North Berkeley area and was looking up places to eat for dinner. It was a Saturday night and some places close fairly early and others have wait lists, on Yelp there was availability so we walked over from where we were at and they were able to seat our party of 2 and we didn't have to sign up. It was very festive with party/club like music and busy! There was indoor and outdoor seating but it was cold outside and more of a waiting area. There's street parking in a pretty busy main area. We started with the Sai Aou- Pork Sausage, Thai Papaya Salad (less spicy than Lao), then ordered Panang Curry with Beef (slow cooked) I saw lots of people review this one. It honestly reminded me of Filipino Kare Kare. And we ordered a side of roti (so good to dip) and Pad See Ew with Chicken. My friend ordered a Thai tea and it was very tea/floral. A local recommended this place, so I came in expecting something decent. What I got instead was a masterclass in disappointment. Let's start with the drinks--because I wish I hadn't. My blood orange white wine spritzer was so bad I couldn't make it past the second sip. I genuinely don't know how you ruin something that simple, but they found a way. I've never been here. We came to do a little food tasting possibly use them for catering for an event. So the moment you get there you join a waitlist to be seated. The restaurant was busy but we didn't have to wait for too long. We waited maybe 8-10 minutes and we were seated. The restaurant is not that big but maybe they have an area for big parties? I'm not sure. However, the ambiance is cute, cozy, and inviting. I love the accent wall, it's picture worthy. Now, let's talk about the food. We didn't just order one or two appetizers we ordered four and I highly recommend them: crispy shrimp roll, spicy chicken wings, crispy tofu over peanut sauce, and Roti bread (which I can eat all day). Everything tasted so fresh and like off the stove. We also order a few dishes: Nam Khao lettuce wrap, crab fried rice, pumpkin curry with chicken and Pad Thai of course. I don't know if I was hungry or what but everything was delicious. I never had Nam Khao which is a crispy rice with Chinese sausage and crispy pork. I loved it! I stumbled on this place one night as I was walking down the street to try a neighboring restaurant. It was packed inside and out and so I checked it out on yelp and it looks like it had something to it. Got a couple friends together finally tried it out last night. Super excited. The food was OK. It had decent flavors and it's always fun to try a new Thai places because they're always different. The thing that stood out to me first of all was that there was gold silverware on the table no chopsticks and they didn't offer you chopsticks. There was absolutely no heat in any of the food whatsoever. Not gonna lie these two things are not very Thai. Maybe this was the most Caucasian Thai restaurant I've ever been to. The service was average. I think that I was somehow set up to believe that it was gonna be a lot better than it was. Everyone else really liked it. Pad kee mao- my second favorite of the dishes, really good flavor, really good texture, not too spicy but fun. Basil fried rice- very excellent. Haven't been able to find at any of the other Thai places in the bay for some reason (?? Someone please explain to me) and this is one of my staple dishes! This place used to be my favorite Thai spot in Berkeley. They have gone way down hill the last 2 times. They used to have the best tom yum in the Bay Area now it tastes bland and no flavor. Their shrimp tiny for a $21 soup. Pad see ew was burnt with bits of burn dots of the pan in it. Very unsafe to eat. How can someone look at that and serve it to someone? I would recommend eating at a different Thai place that actually cares about their customers and have respect for their food so you won't be disappointed and waste your hard earned money. I can only attest to the delivery, but since the food is solid, I can only imagine how it would only be improved by coming out to the table right from the kitchen. It's a small shop, plenty of fun lights and bright colors. Parking is street parking but there are lots of side streets to park on if you don't want to park right on University. The workers there are always friendly and helpful no matter how busy they are (and I have come by to pick up on random weekdays, there is a good reason why they are busy then). I would recommend trying anything on the menu. I haven't tried anything I haven't liked yet. - Starters: Roti- maybe on the smaller serving size but amazing flavor and texture - Salads: Papaya salad- always a go to for me (others might not agree) but I like the sour and crunch of this. This restaurant puts a FRESH spin to each of their traditional Thai dishes, making every meal a unique and exciting experience. Flexible seating for larger groups. Since we visited during lunch time, the space was extra bright, and airy. Immaculate plating presentation and delicious mock-tail drinks. I do recommend ordering mild if you have a lower tolerance for spice. The staff went all out to help us celebrate my sister's bday, which is beyond our expectations. Having a hard time understanding their current rating of 4.3. Three of us had dinner there on Saturday, December 14, at 6 pm. When we were seated, one couple was more than halfway through their meal, a second couple had already received their food. No other tables were occupied. For some reason, it took a really long time for them to take our order. We waited 15 minutes after we had studied the extensive menu, and decided what we wanted, for someone to take our order. The food came reasonably quickly, though. I tasted three of the 4 dishes we ordered. Sweet Pumpkin Curry Puffs (2.5/5): They are described as "pastry puffs filled with sweet pumpkin and potato". I ate 2 pieces. The first had more potato than pumpkin; there was one large piece of pumpkin, so the flavor was not evenly distributed. The second piece had 95% potato and a few shreds of pumpkin. I'm sure all the pieces are not like that, but it speaks to very poor execution on the kitchen. On a day where there wasn't any kind of rush. Red curry with beef (2.5/5): The curry was watery like soup, and sweet. In my book, red curry has no business being sweet. Panang curry, maybe, but not red. And even though my friend had specified medium spicy, it was neither spicy nor flavorful. Chili Lemongrass Lamb Sizzling stir-fried (4/5): This is what I ordered. As the name suggests, it was nicely spicy. And I like the flavor a lot. But I can still only give it 4 stars. One, in the middle I got one bite which had a grape-size lump of undissolved stir-fry paste. That concentrated flavor in my mouth was not pleasant at all. And again speaks to very poor execution on the kitchen. Two, my dish contained three separate pieces of unchewable meat. That's absurd. Portions were really good. The brown rice was excellent, and a good quantity again. The Cabernet Sauvignon, at $9 a glass, was acceptable. Health warning: I emailed Tumi on Sept 14, 2025, about our disappointing experience. She promised to make it right, but then disappeared without following through. Dishonesty like that is unacceptable. I am writing to you after our very first visit to your restaurant last night (party of 4; see attached receipt). As I chose your restaurant for my family & friends, I felt a strong sense of responsibility for the dining experience and my guests' well-being. While we found the food delicious, I must express a significant concern regarding the extremely high sodium content across all your dishes. I had specifically requested that our food be prepared with low sodium due to health concerns, yet every dish was overwhelmingly salty. Out of respect for my guests and because we were short on time (some needed to return home to their children in Silicon Valley), I chose not to send the food back or ask for it to be remade. The saltiness was so pronounced that, at one point, I soaked pieces of food in a glass of water to try to make them edible. I requested a fresh plate, just for myself, because I could see that some of the salty sauces dripped to bottom of plate. The Crab Fried Rice contained clumps of salt or salty seasoning, which were so overwhelming that I had to spit the food out. As you probably know, fish sauce is very high in sodium. On average, one tablespoon of fish sauce contains between 1,000-1,400 mg of sodium. This amount is nearly half--or more--of the recommended daily limit for most adults. The impact of the excessive sodium was immediate: both my husband and I felt sick after the meal, and we both experienced significant puffy eyes and facial swelling the next morning. I want to draw your attention to the serious health implications associated with excessive sodium intake: Major health organizations, including the FDA and the American Heart Association, recommend a daily sodium intake below 2,300 mg, with many experts advising even lower levels for optimal health. High sodium consumption is directly linked to increased risk of high blood pressure, heart disease, and stroke. A mixed bag. Decided to try a new Thai restaurant than my go to. Ordered 4 items delivered; arrived hot, straight from the kitchen (I'm nearby). Crispy Vegetable Rolls Thai Papaya Salad - Somtum Thai Tom Kha Chicken Coconut Soup Panang Curry with Beef (Slow-cooked Beef) The "Crispy Vegetable Rolls" are an embarrassment. These are finger-diameter rolls, not your larger broomstick-diameter. If they called them "Crispy Flour Dough Rolls," that would be accurate. There was virtually no filling to speak of. I expect vegetable rolls to be full of crunchy cabbage, carrot, etc. If there was a filling in these, it was microscopic and undetectable. Completely disappointing, hard pass. The Som Tum (green papaya salad) was eh-- okay, but without any finesse. Would not purchase here again. The Tom Kha Gai was fine, with a decent balance of the flavors one expects (citrus, creaminess, sweetness, salt). The Beef Panang has some pros and some cons. First, as the menu describes, the beef *is* slow cooked. Many Thai restaurants just stir fry the beef and throw it in panang curry sauce, so it is tough. The best beef panang is stewed, like any kind of beef stew. Definitely grateful for that. Also, the beef serving is generous, a lot of meat; the trade-off is that there's nothing else-- no carrots, potatoes, or other vegetables that one often sees with this dish. Beef and sauce, that's it. The sauce flavor is good. My biggest issue is that the beef they use is the lowest quality cut-- fatty, gristly, some kind of cheap thin steak cut cooked in large twisted hunks. The best beef panangs I've had are cubed/chunk beef (maybe chuck roast or something similar; typical stew beef cut). Cooked properly, they are melt-soft, requiring nothing more than a fork. Though this beef was stewed, I did need to get the knife out to cut through the gristly parts. Flavorwise, I enjoyed it well enough, but it falls far short of a really good beef panang-- slow-cooked melt-in-your-mouth stewed beef chunks with some nice accompanying stewed vegetables. So...I can't wholeheartedly recommend Thai Table. It's quite possibly a restaurant where, if you know the right dishes, you can have a good meal. Amazing Thai food! Me and my girl were wine tasting nearby and needed some food to soak it all up. She looked up this place and saw it had great reviews. When we got there we noticed there was a long line of people waiting... the restaurant isn't really big but they def. maximized the space! We waited about 15 min. and it was worth it! We ordered the crispy shrimp rolls, and the pineapple cream cheese wontons to share... they were all flavorful and fresh! We ate everything! For my entree I ordered the crab leg fried rice. The portion size was great and it could easily be shared. Even better the flavors were so good and fresh! I had plenty of leftovers. read more
