This was such a cute little place, the ambience really gave a Thai feel, the staff were super friendly and ready to answer all of our questions. I ordered mild spice which really wasn't spicy at all but more sweet than anything so don't be afraid to order medium and if you really like spicy, go for the hot. I definitely recommend this place if you're ever in the Berkeley Marina area.

Very solid. This is my third time coming here. Their fried tofu and chicken satay appetizers were quite good. Their cocktails were also very yummy. The place is very cute and has nice decor. The music was very loud so it was a little hard to talk, but overall still a good experience.

I had a lovely lunch here and would definitely come back Taste: We ordered the pad thai and the papaya salad. I liked the pad thai tastes and I liked how the papaya salad had a variety of ingredients like iceberg lettuce, green beans, papaya, green onion, and peanuts! Parking: We had to street park and pay, so be ready for that Service: It was good!

3.5* down Came here on a cold winter night for a big family dinner. Was easy to find street parking nearby (but might not always be the case as this is Berkeley!). Place is small and cozy, we did feel a bit boxed in as a larger party (6 people), but still manageable. Service is friendly, there were even little Ferrero rochers waiting for us at our seat when we arrived! The flavors were all generally good, we did feel like the portions were a little small for the price, but some dishes that hit the spot were: - Thai papaya salad (refreshing and delicious) - red curry with purple rice I would come back and give this place another try but probably not as such a large group, maybe with just a friend and share a few things. But with so many Thai/Lao places to choose from in the east bay, they have some stiff competition!

I came here for the big freshwater prawn noodle dish and left incredibly disappointed. Not only was the dish too salty overall, but there was also a piece of plastic in the noodle dish that I discovered. And the freshwater prawns were mushy and not fresh at all. I would strongly avoid this place, feels like a tourist trap. Good marketing, bad product.

Great experience came here late night for dinner after an aggressive happy hour Was nice to walk in with the ambience and good vibes! Got some help from people sitting nearby that were clearly regulars on what to order! Full of flavor and authentic thai flavors always makes me so happy! The lettuce wraps were perfection and I would get them over and over. Khao sao was creamy and tasty!

Was in the North Berkeley area and was looking up places to eat for dinner. It was a Saturday night and some places close fairly early and others have wait lists, on Yelp there was availability so we walked over from where we were at and they were able to seat our party of 2 and we didn't have to sign up. It was very festive with party/club like music and busy! There was indoor and outdoor seating but it was cold outside and more of a waiting area. There's street parking in a pretty busy main area. We started with the Sai Aou- Pork Sausage, Thai Papaya Salad (less spicy than Lao), then ordered Panang Curry with Beef (slow cooked) I saw lots of people review this one. It honestly reminded me of Filipino Kare Kare. And we ordered a side of roti (so good to dip) and Pad See Ew with Chicken. My friend ordered a Thai tea and it was very tea/floral. Everything was really good and delicious! Definitely hit the Thai food craving! Lively, colorful, and bright inside! We were able to easily split the bill and they had a handheld machine to pay.

The inside is so cute, workers were so sweet, and the food was delicious! The peanut sauce is very flavorful, pad Thai and Thai fried rice were so good, would come back again!

Tasty food ate within a beautiful ambiance as my wife and I celebrated our 10 yr relationship anniversary. That was our waitress that is pictured below. I had Pad See Ew and I can't remember what my wife had. However, she had an entree that had alot of seafood. We mouth enjoyed our meals. Oh..we had wings, but I was not a fan.

Didn't get pictures of the food because we absolutely DEVOURED it but the rice and noodles were very flavorful and amazing! Drinks were great the ginger on the lemonade made for a great kick and the tea was sweet yet filling. We were greeted quickly and eagerly by the staff which was great! Ambiance was cute I really liked the string lights they add a nice ambiance! Price was pretty good I shares a meal and it was about 45 bucks for 2 and we left pretty satisfied!

Thai Table sits on University Ave, basically a stone's throw from UC Berkeley -- the kind of distance where you could leave class mid-rant about postmodernism, snag a plate of shrimp rolls, and still make it back having memorized all 24 d-block elements like it's speed dating for metals before anyone noticed you were gone (trust me, they won't). The vibe? Warm, welcoming, none of that Berkeley strain of hyper-correct energy where everyone's triple-checking which ballot initiatives to petition for, what compost bins are displayed, and whether their aura is culturally appropriated. Here, it's just food, people, and actual enjoyment -- which in Berkeley feels borderline illegal. Parking? Yeah, it's Berkeley, so you'll do a few laps, but compared to San Francisco it's basically valet. Indoors is cozy, and outdoors is... well, it's University Ave. Imagine dining next to traffic fumes while watching the Berkeley Catwalk™ -- a nonstop parade of people who look like they're auditioning for a documentary called "Too Cool to Smile." Cyclists wobble by, cars cough up exhaust, and the main attraction is deciding which bumper sticker is the most sanctimonious. Alfresco dining? Sure. Romantic? Only if you're turned on by brake lights and self-righteous glares. The shrimp rolls? Lettuce, carrots, cabbage, garlic fish sauce -- crisp, bright, perfect. Basically, the kind of thing that makes you say "I'd share this, but I don't actually want to." (5/5). The basil chicken with black rice, fried egg on top? That dish has its life together. Balanced, bold, delicious -- everything your LinkedIn app profile pretends to be. (5/5). Mango shrimp was a pleasant surprise. Mango can get pushy, like that guy in your DMs who thinks "heyyy" is a personality. But here, it played nice with the shrimp, peppers, and even the zucchini cameo. (4/5). And then dessert -- mango sticky rice. Sweet, creamy coconut drizzle, sticky in the right ways, the whole thing just... worked. (5/5). If you're not smiling after that, I'd check your pulse. Overall: Nearly perfect. It's got the flavor, the vibe, and none of the Berkeley overthinking. You eat, you laugh, you leave happier. That's rare, dare I say unpseudointellectual?

This food was so delicious that it made feel like I was in Thailand. Their plates do have many spices so if you're intolerant to that do beware. Service was quick and easy. My friend and I were in and out like we wanted to. Their decor was so cute, definitely gave Pataya beach dining in type of vibes. Staff were friendly, always very attentive. Many vegetarian and some gluten free options on the menu. I look forward to enjoying their food next time I crave Thai food!

If you didn't know, know ya…read moreknow...located essentially across the way from CAL in Berkeley, East Bay Spice to me is a hidden gem filled with such nostalgic memories shared with friends over the years. They closed for a time, and now seem to be thriving again! Heading to the Greek for a weekend show, we wanted to pop in somewhere close-by. We cozied up to bar seating, and enjoy a couple of martinis featuring local gin and vodka, and ordered some food to share: the Original Tikka Masala Flatbread (we had to finally try it!), and the Sev Puri Chaat (first time trying this ever!). Service was amazing, and if I could write this review purely on the originality and creativity of the menus, I would (see pics!) The menus were CD cases (remember those, ha) with a fun take on 'Spice Girls', titled 'East Bay Spice Company'. For Spice Girls fans, you will recognize what album this was derived from. Each page of the cd book was a different part of the menu, including drinks, happy hour (from 2-6pm), and food. So fun, and unlike anything I've ever seen before. The food was so fresh and delicious. Loved the pomegranate seeds and lightness from the Sev Puri Chaat, bite size garbanzo bean/potato goodness! And standing O for that flatbread..pro-tip: get a side of the Tikka Masala sauce to pour on top. Absolutely amazing. I'm a huge fan of Tikka Masala, and having that sauce be a base for a pizza...come on!! We did chicken as the protein. Overall, so happy to return and have East Bay Spice back apart of the Berkeley rotation again. Small, dimly-lit, cool digs. Also check out their sister spots: Tap in Lounge and Tipsea in Berk, Blue Rabbit Bar off San Pablo, and Lemon Drop in Alameda.

The presentation was impeccable, and the sauce was rich, creamy, and full of flavor. The chicken seemed like a leaner cut, possibly breast, but it was still tender and not overcooked. I thoroughly enjoyed this plate and would 100% come back to order it again. My husband ordered the flatbread, though I can't remember the exact name, and it was surprisingly delicious as well. It tasted almost like a pizza version of the chicken tikka masala, making it a great shareable option if you're looking to snack, chat, and enjoy cocktails. Speaking of cocktails, the bartenders seemed very knowledgeable and helped me choose a drink based on my preferred spirit and cocktail style. I ended up with the Skeleton Key, which was strong, but still paired well with the meal. I'd happily come back to try more cocktails and, of course, order that chicken tikka masala again.

If you want a chatty, friendly bartender, go to an Irish pub. This place is all about creating unique concoctions in volume. Having said that, I'll tell you a story. In March 2019, I was with a chatty bartender here, since it was a quiet night. I was looking at the vast array of bottles, and noticed something that said "Buffalo Trace" but looked different from their usual bottle. I asked her what it was, and she didn't know. It had about three fingers left at the bottom, so she looked at me mischievously and said, "wanna finish it with me?" So we did. Turns out, that 375 ml bottle was worth about $300. It was one of their experimental batches, made with oats in 2002. I found a bottle online in England and got it shipped here. Best whiskey I've ever had.
