Thai Table is hands down the best Thai spot in Berkeley! It came highly recommended by my Thai friend, and now I find myself going at least once a week. The food is consistently amazing--my favorites are the spicy basil fried rice, roti, and tom kha soup. If you're into drinks, don't miss the lychee mojito, which is absolutely delicious. I like my Thai food pretty spicy so be sure to mention that as the meals are not too spicy unless requested. The service here is fantastic. The staff are always so kind and quick, making every visit a great experience. It can get pretty packed around dinner times, especially on weekends but the wait times tend to be pretty short! This place has easily become one of my all-time favorite spots in Berkeley! read more

This was my third time dining in in over a year, typically I would just get carry out so I didn't necessarily ever have an experience like this one. Even with reservation, it took an additional 20-30 minutes. I observed someone in the kitchen eating over the food while it was cooking. A lot of the staff weren't wearing gloves, so it lead me to wonder if he washed his hands afterwards? Additionally, I had to ask for a new napkin because I used the one they originally gave me to wipe rice off my table. Then I had to ask for a new glass because it wasnt clean, to which the guy seemed irritated by. When a girl was cleaning up a table, I observed her poor the half glasses of water into the big water craft that is served at the tables. This was then placed over by the register, where someone then filled it up. Now, I do not know if they were washed or not, but it left me unsettled. How do I know if my water craft was actually cleaned? I also was only checked on twice. When ordering and when it was time to pay. Not to mention my pad see ew wasn't vegan, as requested. I know because of the reaction my body had once I got home. I'm genuinely bummed because this is the first Thai spot I had tried when I moved to the bay and have really liked it, but I won't be dining here anymore unfortunately due to this experience and what I encountered. read more

As a lover of thai food, and thai, I'd have appreciated more heat, but I also understand a restaurants need to cater to a broader palate. The grilled pork skewers had a great balance of fat to meat, grilled just right and was fully cooked without being overly dry or overly charred. The glaze was on point! And the big head shrimp pad-thai was spot on. I really appreciate the more authentic addition of green onions / scallions upon the noodles. In addition, the freshwater shrimp was fried to perfection! Service staff and kitchen staff were kind and attentive. The vibes were GREAT on a Monday night (music playing, not too loud but just enough to get a groove on). Just an update- hate to dock a star form my previous review but overall we had the chicken satay, roti with curry sauce, khao soi, beef stew, fried calamari and mango shrimp. I think most of the dishes were good but the khao soi's flavor was a bit lackluster and the beef stew was a tad bit flavorless. The mango shrimp was yummy however a bit heavy on the sauce (overpoweringly sweet). I think a bit of balance would help correct the flavors. Anyways, I'd still be back! This is a great stop just off the highway on University ave. The parking can be a little hard to find but mostly just regular street parking. The inside is a little small so ideally it's more casual dining and suitable for smaller groups. The inside is decorated very nicely and looks quite vibrant. They play trendy pop music and it's a pretty loud setting so more for people who enjoy that type of atmosphere. The service was 50:50 for me. I had two different waiters helping us out. One had been very pleasant and welcoming and I really enjoyed their service. Another was less joyous and didn't disclose additional costs when taking our orders. For example, they asked if we wanted extra rice with our curry dish but wouldn't disclose that it would be an extra cost. Personally it wasn't a big deal for me, but it's something to keep in mind when ordering here that many proteins or rice additions are extra and not included in base cost of dishes. The food was pretty good. I got the pad kee mao (drunken noodle), chicken noodle soup, and yellow curry with chicken. All the dishes were pretty pleasing in flavor and portion sizes. The chicken noodle soup was tangy and savory. The yellow curry was refreshing and not overly heavy. The pad kee mao was also pretty tasty. Overall, the restaurant is a neat place to dine at with a small party and it's very conveniently located in contrast to most places in Berkeley. After being in Berkeley for a few hours, I didn't want to sit in traffic for 1hr 30min to go home. I was super hungry, and decided to eat at this Thai restaurant. I ordered a Thai papaya salad and it was decent though I wouldn't say it was the best salad I had. However, it was super refreshing to eat this on a hot day. I also ordered a Thai Fried Rice with Beef and it tasted really good. I like how the rice was seasoned as it wasn't too salty or bland. The veggies were good as well, and I love the little corn in it as well lol For my choice of drink, I got a thai iced tea, and that was really good as well. This place had good fried rice, but one time my friends and I went to go eat there and we left our tip in cash on the table. The server didn't see it, took the receipt, and basically ran a whole block until she reached us. She told me I had to tip them, extending her hand towards me to take me back to the restaurant to write a tip (trying to grab me). I was uncomfortable, confused, and upset. I explained I had left a good tip in cash and a follow-up conversation was initiated by me about what had just happened. She just walked away back towards the restaurant. It didn't help that we were the only brown people who were eating there that evening. read more

Best sit down Thai place in Berkeley!! I loved every dish here, and the customer service was just super friendly and efficient. Get the pork skewers!! It could've been an entree with how big it is, but the skewers were cooked to perfection. There was a perfect amount of char and smoky flavor, but the inside was still juicy and tender. One plate came with 4 but after 1 I could already feel myself getting full! The dipping sauce had some sesame and fish sauce and it was such a great compliment. The pad see ew was also very good and the noodles were fresh. The beef was very tender, and there was a right amount of sauce and smokiness! We also got the Thai pumpkin curry with chicken, and the pumpkin was so delicious and soaked up all the curry sauce. The curry was a little bit more liquidy than I was used to, but the flavor was still there, and I liked the little kick of spice! It paired very well with a side of their soft and chewy roti! To wash it all down, we had many liquids which were both amazing. The seafood tom yum soup keeps you on your toes and helps you cut back from the filling food because of its acidity! The seafood was very good quality and the soup was also well seasoned. To top it all off, the lychee mojito and mango nigiri were very yummy and affordable drinks! There were big portions and I loved the mango nigori the most since I could drink it with their amazing mango sticky rice. I had never had it with black rice but it was SO GOOD. We have ordered takeout from Thai Table twice now. It's our new close-by, local Thai spot. We really love this place and the prices are average. We have tried a variety of different dishes and they are all tasty. My favorite is the Pad Kee Mao - this is always my favorite Thai dish, and this place does it right. Just the right amount of tofu, veggies, and flavor. Appetizers: Pineapple cream cheese wontons (4/5) - I quite liked this one, it was different and I'd get it again Sweet pumpkin curry puffs (4.8/5) - A solid appetizer, would probably get this on the regular Mushroom dumplings (3.7/5) - Not my favorite, I don't know what I am missing with all the rave reviews, they are OK. Hints of sour and tanginess from the soup was smoothed out by the creaminess of the coconut milk. The chicken slices were plentiful and overall a really hearty soup. Thai Table has become such a favorite among my friends and me that we joke about becoming ambassadors for the restaurant. Every item I've tried here has been a 5/5 in taste, and it's only elevated by the reasonable prices (~$15 for each noodle dish) and huge servings. You get to choose your protein with the noodle dish (prices varying), and this time, we ordered pad kee mao, pad thai, pad see ew, and a panang beef curry. My friend also ordered a pina colada, which was delicious and didn't taste too strong. The server who's there most nights, Micki(?) is so sweet, and the restaurant overall has a great ambiance, with its vibrantly colorful but harmonious decorations and plates. Only warning I'd give is that if you ask for the dish to be spicy, they will deliver! I tried this place as I was in the area and it had great reviews on yelp.. also thai food is always on the top of my list! I have actually been back many times now and love this place, it is a true gem! The latest visit I got the Tom kha soup 10/10, Basil eggplant with tofu 15/10, Thai fried rice 12/10 and the Pad see Ew 10/10. We also tried the Taro puffs and those were really really delicious, must try 12/10! Every single dish was full of flavor and you can taste the fresh ingredients in each bite. What I love is the variety of different flavors in their dishes balancing the spices and freshness of vegetable with perfectly cooked protein options. This is now my go to place and I eat here any chance I get! :) The staff is extremely kind and helpful making the dining in experience great as well. If you want to-go, they do an excellent job of packing the food. They have a bathroom inside the restaurant and have limited outdoor seating ( call ahead to reserve) and plenty of indoor seating.
