I am a big fan of Thai cuisine. Unfortunately, Thai Chili Pepper does not capture that which is wonderful and delicious about the Thai culinary arts. I can't put my finger on it, but everything we ordered here was sub-par. From the Pad Thai which had a cardboard taste to the coconut soup which was boring. On a Sunday evening, we took our three children here to dine in. We ordered appetizers and immediately put in our entree orders as well since we had kids. The appetizers appeared in a reasonable amount of time. After 10/15 minutes, my entree appeared. 15 minutes later, we inquired about the rest of the entrees and they told us it would be an additional 15 minutes! Thirty minutes between the first entree and the rest! We had to leave with our kids hungry and they forced us to pay for the appetizers. Zero apologies. My husband and I decided to try this restaurant. We first ordered Spring rolls - came out hot and very delicious. I ordered the Red Curry Chicken mild to medium. It was very good and just the right amount of spice for me- I don't like it too spicy. My husband ordered Red Curry Seafood medium spice. He said his was delicious. Both came with jasmine rice. I had hot green tea and he had a Thai beer. Our server was very polite and attentive. I would definitely recommend this business. My first experience At THAI Chili Pepper and decided on last minute take out. I love panang curry with ToFu and vegetables. The dinner serving was 12.95 and the curry sauce was very good. I was disappointed in the very large slices of peppers and zucchini. The pieces of ToFu were also huge. It may be that I am used to nice diced size of vegetables and Tofu. It makes it more difficult to eat having to cut everything up. Just seemed that there could have been a few pea pods or other vegetables included. I Also had 4 small fried spring rolls, 4.95, and they did not have much filling. I asked for some peanut sauce and was informed it would be more, which was ok, just did not like the vibes. I ordered: Pad Thai (chicken), Drunken noodles (veggie), Tom Yum soup, Red Curry and the Bangkok Wings (appetizer) - "hot" level spice - for take-out during Covid. It was EXTREMELY good. The flavor, the quantity/portions, the way the chicken was cooked, everything was really good. I haven't found a really good Thai place around here in a while, and this is newly open (March I believe). And they wrote "thank you :)" on every container which was a sweet touch. I do think the fact that I ordered before rush hour dinner time made a difference, but nonetheless I was very pleased with my food. Why 4 stars? As always, I wait until my second visit for a review. The Chicken Pad Thai was really good and the spice level was great. Medium is spicy, so do not get crazy kids! The Chicken Satay was very good as well and the Thai lemon flavor was a hit. The kids liked the chicken fried rice and I stole a couple bites as well. Very tasty. The only downside was the dumplings. We waited four forty minutes for our order! I had to call the restaurant again to verify it! The food was horrendous! The pad see ew barely had any meat, noodles were over cooked! I am giving this restaurant 2 stars because it is overpriced for the portions. i ordered two entrees one with chicken and one with shrimp costing approximately $15-$18, respectfully. Each entree bately had 3 oz of protein in the meal and The rest was all filler vegetables. We've been here dozens of times and the food is honestly fantastic. My too suggestion is that whatever you order, get it super saucey as sauce in Thai food tends to dry out and with this option here it'll keep that from happening so fast. Customer service has improved compared to times in the past few months, which is great to see. Prior to this we did have a couple experiences where they would provide a 20-30 minute wait for food and it ended up being 1 hour or even worse-- they forgot to put our order in after waiting for 1 hour. Well we waited 2 months and must say it may have gotten worse. This is what happens when the owners open up too many places before getting existing restaurants established. First the smell is back. That may be why there were only 6 people in the restaurant for dinner, or maybe it was the very little, dry and flavorless dumplings. Maybe the extremely GREASY spicy fried rice, or the dirty table, and yet may the be very dirty spice tray, etc.etc. We also had a little disagreement with what seemed to be a very new waitress about the dumpling sauce not being plain, and very salty, soy sauce. I don't usually post a review, let's just say with my week work and weekend ( mom to toddler), I hardly find time to stay sane. I couldn't resist posting for this amazing gem. Here goes a quick review: Having been to Thailand, this is the most closest food to authentic Thai food that I have had by far in Tampa. The spices are freshly ground and you can taste that in their food, so much flavor! Even their regular fried rice has a ton of flavor unlike any other restaurants. We always get Thai Hot (spice level) food just because we absolutely love heat. But I would recommend any spice level- it would still taste amazing! Do me a favor and get your favorite Thai dish from this place. You will not regret it! To the owners- please keep the spice, recipes and every you still have the same as is! Do not change anything to cater to a majority crowd's palate. In a time when everybody is looking at food differently and wanting to try the real deal, there needn't be 'extra sugar' 'extra fish sauce' 'extra coconut milk' added to a Thai dish please!!
