We stopped in for a quick lunch after running some errands in the area. We tried the chicken lettuce wraps and the fresh wraps. The Thai basil and the homemade peanut sauce were stand outs. It's a small, casual place in a shopping center. It seemed that the food was cooked fresh to order and we enjoyed our choices. The staff was friendly and quickly remade our order when they accidentally served it with shrimp though we asked for only tofu.
On rotation in our house! Every couple of months, we get the itch for some Panang curry and Palm Thai is the best restaurant around! We love the sweet creamy yet spicy flavor of the Panang curry. It comes with a healthy serving of rice to soak up all the flavors. We always get chicken, but there's plenty of other protein options. In addition, the pad Thai is just so good!! The owner is so sweet. We've dined in and carried out plenty of times. It is a classic family owned restaurant environment if you dine inside. Overall, I'd recommend this place again and again and again!
This is not my first time at Palm Thai. I first went around Nov. 2022. I thought the food was just solid. I ordered red curry at the time. Fast forward to today. I ordered Khao Soi -which is apparently a North Thailand soup with egg noodles. It was a lot more flavorful than the previous food. While it seems to use a red curry base,it had cilantro, and cardamom with a richer taste than their "standard" red curry. The were bean sprouts and egg noodles with chicken pieces. 8/10 The dining space is very small-18 seats. The gentleman at the front was pretty good at managing dine in customers and an incessant stream of phone calls for take out. They have the usual Thai staples here like curries, pad Thai ,and drunken noodles. They also have different dishes like Khao Soi, Chu Chee duck. They also have different meat options like duck and soft shell crab which are generally unavailable compared to other Tampa Thai places. Prices are fair. They are similar to Bangkok Thai Jazz on Fowler. Parking is generally ample. Cons: Closed Sundays Not much ambience and small size In terms of ambience, Thai Ruby is better. In terms of value/taste, this is comparable to Bangkok Jazz on Fowler. I think that one is slightly better.
Food was really good. The pad Thai was a little more tangy than I'm used to. Service was fast despite only one server. This small restaurant is beautifully decorated Thai decor. I would recommend this very nice restaurant.
New favorite Thai place in Tampa!! Very mom and pop vibe with 4-5 tables. recommend trying the various fried rices. They have Khao soi which is a curry noodle soup similar to Singaporean Laksa. All the dishes are super flavorful and dinner is huge portions. There is one person manning the front, serving and taking orders. He is so nice and friendly. Palm Thai opened for at least 5 years now. Good for take out as well!
Palm Thai is a hidden gem! It's a cozy, family-owned spot that feels like a true hole-in-the-wall--in the best way. I've been eating here regularly for the past month, and every meal has been consistently delicious. If you're craving authentic Thai food, this is the place to go. The flavors are bold and comforting, and you can really taste the care put into each dish. The staff is also amazing!! My go-to favorites are the drunken noodles and their rice dishes--you really can't go wrong with sHighly recommend!
I've had a lot of Thai food in the Tampa area and Palm Thai is a cut above other restaurants in every way. My family and I went on a Tuesday night close to closing hour and every table was full. The owner, Ben, is from Bangkok and really takes good care of all his customers, takes time to engage and cares about the dining experience of every person who walks into his restaurant. My family ordered the Pad See Ew, Pad Woon Sen, Pineapple Fried Rice and Tom Kha Soup. The first thing we noticed was that Palm Thai is not afraid to be bold with their flavors, whereas other restaurants are often more mild. The noodles were perfectly cooked and chewy, each dish is huge and loaded with vegetables, we had a full meal of leftovers the next day. We also loved the garlicky, savoriness of each dish. The table next to us ordered more to go during their meal and we are already planning another trip back to try more dishes, very happy this place is so close to us and will definitely be back!
Palm Thai was highly recommended by my friend and I was not disappointed! The khao soi chicken was so creamy and rich in flavor, and the red curry fried rice was bursting with spice! Those two dishes were my favorite. I'm always a fan of pad see ew noodles and combined with the beef, I enjoyed it very much. The mango sticky rice is really nice as well, it's not too sweet and it's a refreshing dessert to have. We came for the lunch special deals and so the prices were very fair for the amount of food we received. The service is very friendly and inside is clean. There is not too much seating but it's enough. If I'm in the area I will definitely be eating here again!
Ok. 2nd time to visit Palm Thai restaurant in the Tampa Palms area. Small and intimate setting, with about 10 tables. The place was half-full around 5:30pm. There was a lot of takeout delivery people dropping by to pick up food. We were greeted by a friendly waiter. I'm thinking he was the owner. His personality and behavior made us very comfortable and relaxed. Here comes the food! I ordered Pad Thai with chicken. My wife ordered Pineapple fried rice with pork. We just had water to drink. Trying to keep the calories down by not having soda or alcohol. The dishes were so plentiful and smelled so fragrant. And it tasted wonderful, especially the fried rice. The pad Thai was tasty but a bit too sweet for me. The sauce was a bit thick as well. Of course there was too much food so we asked for some take out boxes. The cost was reasonable (around $32) and worth the price. So, to summarize, go and check out this cute, little place for some good Thai food.
This is such a cute little Thai restaurant. My dining partner and I had red pineapple curry and pad Thai with scallops. They did a very good job of accommodating my food allergy and accommodating my partners fried tofu request. Some of the scallops were not as fresh I would like but overall we're not bad. The curry was terrific. All other vegetables and herbs were fresh and very flavorful.
Best Thai food in the Tampa Bay Area!! This is my go to spot. Located in Tampa palms about 25 mins without traffic but so worth the drive. Every single time I have gone there for dine in the food has never disappointed. Always comes out hot and fresh! All the flavor and you can even tell them the spice level you prefer. It's a small local spot but has all the hole in the wall feels! We are always greeted and treated so nicely. They do get super busy on the weekends and their take out is always booming. If you have not yet tried this place I highly advise you to RUN not walk but run and go check them out!
Tried the place for lunch, small clean and fast /friendly service. They seem to do a lot more to go orders than dine in. We got the drunken noodles and panang curry, all vegetarian, fried tofu. Both were delicious, drunken noodles were nice and saucy, garlicky and not dry, adding the pickled jalapeños was the perfect amount of tangy flavor and spice it needed for me. Great place for a quick, filling lunch!

I should have come here earlier! This is hands down the best Thai restaurant in Tampa Palms. The storefront is unassuming, but don't let that fool you, inside is a fantastic spot with friendly, quick service and consistently excellent food. The prices are very fair, especially considering the generous portion sizes. I ordered the pineapple fried rice with chicken (10/10), the tom kha soup, and the mango sticky rice for dessert. Every dish was flavorful, fresh, and perfectly prepared. Whether you're looking for takeout or dining in, this place delivers. Everything exceeded my expectations, and it has officially become my go-to Thai restaurant. Highly recommend! read more
To be honest we were waiting for our table at Cali next door and then I got a random craving for Thai food. Looked up Thai on the map and saw one was 200 feet away. What a blessing! This place is a true gem. Owner was super sweet and you could taste all the amazing flavor and love in the food! If you ever find yourself in the Wesley Chapel area definitely check it out. Smaller inside seating are but cozy, we saw lots of people picking up takeout which is a good move if you're local. Pictured are the pad see ew, and Khao soi. Both incredible read more
I stopped in to order food to go in the restaurant and also ordered to go by calling. Both times, service was friendly and the wait wasn't long for the food. The portion sizes and prices are a good value in my opinion. Red curry fried rice with chicken- The flavor was a delicious, well balanced combination of two great dishes. Side egg fried rice- Very simple and well cooked fried rice. Pad see ew with beef- I wish the flavor was a little stronger based on other versions of this dish I've had and the beef could be a little more tender, but overall it tasted good. read more

Visited more frequently before COVID. Staff is always friendly. The settling is clean and inviting. Not much inside seating so be sure to arrive before the mealtime rush. Menu offers a food selection and I've never ordered anything I didn't enjoy. Today's selection was fresh rolls. Yum! read more

small shop, Pad thai was a big course, but it had missed all the flavors, almost tasted ketchupy. edible but not great. Drunken noodles. Also miss its flavor entirely seemed very bland. chicken satay was good and the mango, sticky rice was also very good. Hi iced tea was good too. Service was quick all in all, appetizers and dessert were a thumbs up, but entrées were a thumbs down probably wouldn't return. read more
I'm so glad I stumbled upon this restaurant today. I really enjoyed the meal, customer service, and atmosphere. The restaurant is situated in a cozy, not too busy area of Tampa. Once I entered the establishment I was immediately greeted by the friendly host/waiter and I was told that I could sit anywhere. The restaurant is somewhat small, but I really liked that about this restaurant. A very cozy vibe. The restaurant was very clean. The restaurant was also very nicely decorated with cultural decor. I ordered the iced Thai tea, the chicken satay, and the drunken noodles with shrimp. This was my first time trying the iced Thai tea. I'm so glad I ordered this! It was DELICIOUS. Based on my quick google search and taste test, It's a strong black tea (I think) mixed with spices such as tamarind and maybe cardamom and possibly some other spices, and it's combined with sugar and sweetened condensed milk. This is served on ice. I highly recommend ordering this. The chicken satay appetizer was AMAZING! Very well seasoned, perfectly cooked. The chicken was juicy! There were 2 dipping sauces. A vinegar based dipping sauce and a peanut sauce. I poured the vinegary dip on top of my chicken and I dipped it in the peanut sauce. I really wanted to order another chicken satay. Definitely a must try. This appetizer came with 6 chicken skewers. My main was the shrimp drunken noodles. I have never had drunken noodles before. I really enjoyed this dish. Very flavorful. The noodles were perfectly cooked, had a nice chew to them. There were plenty of fresh vegetables in my dish. I believe there were onions, bell peppers, carrots, and maybe green beans. It was all tossed in a Thai chili sauce. There were also plenty of shrimp in my dish. They were not stingy with this shrimp. My picture does not show fully how many shrimp were in this dish. I loved that they were a decent size. My only wish for this dish is that I wanted for it to be spicier. I enjoy heat to my dish. But that is my own personal preference. I will ask next time if they can add some spice. But overall, this was a great dish and I'd order it again. I recommend checking this place out. read more

Delicious food and warm service! The plate came out with a mountain of food on it, I couldn't even finish it all off! Small place but very well kept, even their condiments were fancy! About 15$ whatever plate you get but it's definitely worth it! I got the chicken pineapple fried rice and was pleasantly surprised! Planning to return again! read more

Definitely a quality restaurant; I've had better Thai food & I've had Thai food that wasn't as good. Will I return? Of course. Current hours are Monday thru Friday from 11:30 till 9:00 PM, & Saturday from Noon till 9:00. The restaurant is closed on Sunday. RESTAURANT POSITIVES: it's not a chain; its menu is straightforward (user friendly); the prices are standard; the food quality is very good; & there are daily lunch specials. The dining room is small w/ approximately 8 tables, but it was clean. This is not a fancy restaurant; soup is presented in paper bowls & entrees on paper plates. The utensils are white plastic. This was visit #2 for me. The Pineapple Fried Rice w/ Pork was EXCELLENT. The Miso Soup was very good, as was the Red Curry Fried Tofu w/ a side of white rice. The Chicken Pad Thai was good, but it could have been better-- the chicken was cut too thin & the noodles were too soft (slightly overcooked). What should have been two distinct & complimentary textures was lacking. And the Crab Rangoon (made w/ curry) was lacking in flavor, but still quite good. There is no free water; a bottle of water is overpriced @ $1.50; it will arrive w/ a small plastic cup. Other available beverages include Coke products, as well as Unsweetened Iced Tea; Thai Iced Tea; Thai Iced Coffee; Apple Juice; Perrier; & Hot Tea. There is no alcohol sold here. The large, two-sided plastic menu is easy to read (see pics). It offers the following: 8 appetizers; 7 soups by the cup & by the bowl; 6 salads; 10 "Signature Dishes" (including Duck, Soft Shell Crab, Minced Pork; Seafood; & Eggplant); 7 Sides; & 3 Desserts; they include Mango & Sticky Rice; Thai Donuts; & Crispy Banana (wrapped w/ rice paper & served w/ honey & sesame seed). Add one of the following proteins to these additional dishes: 6 Fried Rice entrees; 6 Noodle entrees; 5 Curry entrees; & 8 Sautéed entrees. The prices are as follows: chicken ($13.95); pork ($13.95); Tofu ($13.95); mixed vegetables ($13.95); beef ($15.95); shrimp ($15.95); squid ($15.95); scallops ($15.95); Combination of chicken, pork, beef, & shrimp ($16.95); fish fillet ($23.95), Seafood Combo of shrimp, scallops, & squid ($20.95), & duck or soft shell crab ($23.95). Reservations are accepted. There appears to be a healthy flow of take out orders. No delivery option is listed on the website. read more

For Friday night we were looking for Thai place to have dinner and decided to have dinner at Palm Thai since it was just around 10 minutes from our place. Accessibility Palm Thai has a lot of parking places since it is located in the area where there are around 3-4 restaurants. One can park in the parking place and can directly go to Palm Thai Restaurant. Ambience When we entered the restaurant we saw that they have small seating area. They were decorated with Thai Idols on the walls. The restaurant was decorated very well showing the beauty of Thailand. Service Our server Ben was an amazing guy who was also the owner and he treated us well as well as answered all the questions regarding food and respected all our demands. Foods By exploring the menu we started first with appetizers and soup which included vegetarian spring roll, crab rangoon and tom kha soup. For dinner we ordered Drunken Noodles and Massama Curry. The server soon bought our disposable plates and soon for the food. Soon we got our appetizers and soup. The spring roll as well as crab rangoon were delicious. We loved both of them. It was a delicious start to our dinner. The soup was delicious too. It was amazing food freshly made with vegetables. Then soon we got our food which was drunken noodles and massaman curry. The noodles as well as curry was hot and deliciously made. Loved the dinner too along with the appetizers. The food as well as appetizers were hot and freshly made with perfect vegetables. Price The prices were perfect and it was according to the food we ordered. We didn't think it was pricey. It was really worth it. One of the best thai restaurants in the area with hot and delicious thai food. read more

If you are looking for amazing Thai food... this is the place to go! Service was incredibly fast and very attentive. Lunch prices were not expensive and still a good amount of food. The curry was incredibly flavorful and I got the meat combo in my curry. Would probably stick to just beef next time, the chicken was a tad dry but the shrimp was great too. However, if you are looking for a nicer place.. this might not be the place for you! Food is served on paper plates (A+ for cleanliness I guess!) and you get charged $1.50 for water from a bottle with a plastic cup. They just recently opened so that might be the reason for these things. Overall a great place to eat, I will definitely be returning. read more
