Years ago I had one of the worst restaurant experiences of my life at this restaurant so I boycotted it. I met my friend and his coworkers for lunch and they picked here to my dismay. It wasn't bad so I have gone a few more times with them. It's not the best or worst. Staff doesn't really seem to care if you're there or not and I have never seen another customer while eating. Lunch specials give you a discount but it's a much smaller portion than the regular menu and doesn't come with anything like other lunch specials do so not really a deal. Larb was expensive and tiny portion but tasty. Was so full of liquid though it was like larb soup. The pad thai wasn't very photogenic but I really enjoyed that. My favorite dish so far here. On the bright side, the veggie egg rolls were absolutely delicious, especially with the sauce. Pro tip: adding that sauce to the rice really brings out all the flavors. The rice itself was fresh and hot, topped with cucumber and two big chunks of tomato, which complemented it well. Overall, the food was tasty and served hot, but if you're advertising crab fried rice, make sure it actually has crab in it! A little more accuracy in the menu would go a long way. read more

Oh my gosh. The mango sticky rice here is AMAZING. It's about $10, but omg it is soooo worth it. The mango was tender and juicy, probably the best mango I've had in my life, and there was more mango than rice!!!! That's the kind of portioning I like haha. The coconut cream was the perfect sweetness. The rice had an even and delightful texture to it. On top of that, the service here is always great. Food always comes out in a timely manner, and staff has always been welcoming. When we ordered pineapple friend rice he ask me what kind of meat and I replied chicken in thai. He asked me for the tomyum..guess what...same word khai... This Thai might not scream "flashy," but let me tell you, they quietly overachieve in the best way possible. I came in thinking I'd get a simple Thai meal and left plotting how soon I could come back without seeming suspicious. Let's start with the tofu tom yum soup, a bowl of cozy, citrusy warmth with tofu soaking up every spicy, sour, and slightly sweet note like it trained its whole life for this. Then came the tom yum noodle soup, and oh man, the noodles held onto that broth like a secret they weren't willing to let go. It had heat, depth, and a flavor punch that hit all the right spots. And then there's the mango sticky rice to finish off the night -- sweet, creamy, fruity perfection that could singlehandedly turn a bad day around. I've had this three times and all three times, the mangos was ripe, the sticky rice had the perfect chew, and the coconut drizzle brought it all together like a well-rehearsed boy band harmony. Food was ok, got usual suspects..chili fried rice, panang curry and tried garlic squid. Garlic squid portion was horrible, the squid pieces were so tiny they wouldn't even pass as squid. I won't be going here anymore. What used to cost 20 dollars then cost 30 now costs 50 and you basically get half the amount of food. From getting half the amount to everything being watered down I need to find a new spot. Only thing that was actually good was the cucumber salad which I might get again. The food was good. Parking was fine although a bit small. Service i would say was good. While the experience was not bad it wasn't spectacular. So it is what it is. It's family friendly, so kids are ok. On the weekends there is a swap meet across the street at the Cypress College so parking may be a bit tight. If I can I would give a 3.5. I got their lunch special today, I got chili beef , total was $10.72 with tax. Food flavor is decently good, but the portion is really small. Not sure if is because I ordered beef, so the portion is so small or because it's lunch special. They gave a lot of rice, the rice is a little hard in the middle (kind of like undercooked). The salad dressing was good. Overall, I do like the food, although the portion is small and rice wasn't that great. But, I would visit again to try something else. By looking at the menu, a little overpriced in my opinion. So I would just get their lunch special. read more

We were hesitant to come here because of some of the negative reviews but one thing I've learned is to never totally rely on bad reviews as there's always some bias. We tried this place as it looked cozy and we didn't want to wait at Kura Sushi down the street. The food here is very legit. I will agree with many of the reviews that the portions on the noodle dishes are kind of small, but their beef sate was a very generous portion with a large side of ketchup shrimp fried rice. I love that they deliver, especially during COVID. Thai food is something that never disappoints. We ordered Pad Thai with chicken, Chicken Satay a la carte and BBQ chicken with fried rice. If your a big meat eater the 1/2 BBQ chicken plate is the way to go. Unfortunately a lot of the curry dishes do not have a lot of meat. It's not just here. For some reason you always get more veggies than meat. Anyways everything tasted great. Especially after we added more peanut butter to the Pad Thai. Washed it down with Thai iced coffee. Tom Yum looked and tasted like pho. What happened to the red, spicy and milky sauce? Very disappointing. The fried rice looks like it was just thrown together and n the plate. The staff is welcoming & I like that they have tables set up with menus & pictures of their popular dishes. Our order was ready within 10 minutes freshly cooked and hot... 5 stars for the beef satay --good size portions of beef - nice texture with a smokey sweet marinade flavor. The side pickled cucumbers were good. The side peanut sauce is runny but surprisingly good. 4 stars for the Pad Thai (with meat combo & shrimp). The noodles were very flavorful & the meats were tender. 2-1/2 stars for the vegetable chow mein- Nice size portions of vegetables. But, it was just blah. I added soy sauce for more flavor. Had ordered a pad Thai and fried rice. It was lacking so much flavor. Pad Thai is supposed to be sweet, spicy and tangy and have an orange hue from fur sauce seasoning. The noodles is nice texture. Stopped by here to grab a quick lunch. The food was okay, just wish their overall portion size was bigger. I just won't be coming back due to service-related reasons. PARKING: Free in the plaza it's located. COVID-RELATED: They offer delivery, take-out, and outdoor seating (3-4 tables). Restrooms are available for customers. Staff wear a mask. SERVICE: I had my dog with me that day and came into the restaurant asking for a table outside. The server asked if the dog was mine as she pointed to my husband and dog. I said yes and she asked if my dog was "vicious." For context, I have a Sheltie who is slightly overweight haha but also the sweetest, gentlest dog in the whole world. When she had asked that, my dog was sitting very properly. Puzzled, I said, "no." And she asked me TWO more times, "are you sure?" I was slightly offended by this point. The only thing my dog will do is bombard you with hi-fives you because that's the one trick she knows best! It was very obvious that she did not want to interact with us because of our "vicious" dog, but knew she couldn't refuse services for that reason. When seating and providing us with the food/check, she stayed 5 feet away from our table so I either had to stand or reach for our plates the entire time. My dog did NOT bark once during our meal and was very well-behaved per usual (see photo for reference). She could tell that I was upset and apologized at the end, but the damage was already kind of done. I understand that there are people who have a huge fear of dogs, but then admit that first instead of trying to pawn it off as "I have a vicious dog." If my dog was also barking or appeared to be rowdy, then I would understand why she would ask if I was sure....but it's honestly really rude to ask that when there was no reason warranting that. Will not be coming back mainly for this reason. CHICKEN PAD THAI: This rice noodle dish came with bean sprouts and scrambled egg. Their noodles were a little undercooked. Not a fan. KAI YANG LUNCH SPECIAL: We ordered their bbq chicken lunch special that came with fried rice and salad. The dressing on the salad was honey mustard-would get it on the side next time as they drenched it a bit. There was only one piece of bbq chicken...and the fried rice was more of the ketchup rice. I love the eggplant basil with fried tofu. Wish they'd add more veggies because it's lacking substance; if you don't have rice with it also. I love the savory lightly sweet sauce and how the eggplant and veggies are always super fresh.My boyfriend loves the phad see ew. He always gets it. Nice char on the veggies and noodles from a hot wok. I've gotten the larb nar with noodles, also similar to the Thai basil but with the starchy addition at no extra charge--unlike adding rice. Thai tea is how is should taste not to sweet but not to subtle. They get more carry out orders than they do dine in patrons from the times we've gone it's usually only 1 or 2 seated tables at most but don't be discouraged. You'll find it's good eats. read more

Never felt the need to leave a review because it always felt like a 3 star place (current average rating). We ordered the wonton noodle soup, and pad woon sen with shrimp, and the eggplant with tofu. I am giving it two stars for the following reasons. Quality: I ordered the wonton noodle soup. It was somehow salty and bland at the same time. The broth was really salty and the noodles which came in a separate container were bland. The eggplant with tofu was decent but they went super hard on the onions. Value: I know inflation is killing everyone, but I have been to other Thai places in Cypress lately and compared to them I feel this is pretty pricey for what you get. The wonton noodle soup had 3 wonton, two pieces of shrimp a few baby bok choy and a small box of egg noodles and it was $12, the eggplant with tofu was a small portion for a similar price and the pad woon sen was a really tiny portion as well. The staff was really nice. And that is why I am giving two stars instead of one. read more

My husband and I decided to try this place while driving by it and must say we are pretty disappointed. We ordered the Tom Kha, Beef Chilli, & Chilli Fried Rice. The portions was enough for literally one person. The Tom Kha soup wasn't even filled up all the way. Wasn't worth the price to be honest. Definitely recommend Thai Noodle King in Bellflower.
