Don't judge this place by the cover --the food is excellent. The restaurant looks a bit outdated, but the quality easily beats many $20+ meals elsewhere. I stopped in for a quick lunch and ordered a combo and the chicken katsu--fresh, generous, and very satisfying for $10-$12. Met the owner Chris, who was super friendly, and the place was very clean. Highly recommended.

Great little mom and pop in an old strip mall. Food is freshly prepared and value is thru the roof. I highly recommend R&T for a quick and delicious meal!

Great size food! Variety is there, and quality as well! Portion sizes are generous especially in this economy!! Wild! Food came out fast and fish was fresh! :) Combo C and Alaskan roll were very good! Interior is cozy and decently clean! Service is fast and efficient!

If you're looking for a great chicken teriyaki, this is the place! The chicken was cooked moist and tasty. And the sauce got the real taste. Salad dressing was the one I've been searching for. The hot miso soup was perfect. It also came with 4 slices of sushi. For $8, you can't go wrong. Went there at their opening time to avoid the lunch hour rush. Ordered the daily special combo C. The food came out fast. I asked for some pickled ginger. They charge 54 cents each. The lady at the counter was nice and accommodating. The place is clean. And lots of parking. This is my first and will be back for more to try everything on their menu.

California hand roll + Spider roll

Got the California hand roll and Spider roll. I liked it: standard, generous portion of imitation crab in the hand roll, an extra deep fried portion of crab over the roll. Sushi rice was on the sweet side, but I am not complainin'. Presenation was nice for takeout, and came with plenty of pickled ginger and wasabi. Seems reasonably priced at $12 without tax. Shop was homey with seating for at least 30. You can order and sit down, so pretty casual. Service was attentive. Will have to bring others back to try the real sushi. Would come back for reasonably priced "sushi" if I have a craving.

I have been coming to this place since it first opened and have seen it improve so much! This place is a cute little mom and pop shop located in a strip mall. Plenty of parking and the owner is super sweet! The sushi and roll combos and frankly everything else is such a good price! I especially love the albacore in the sushi and roll combo

Combo A Special

Fast service and great food. We got Combo A, Combo B, and the Lakers Tempura Roll in under 20 minutes. It's to-go and weekdays only, but definitely worth it for a quick, quality meal.

Combo C Special

Cheap and good local food spot! It's so good for the price! Highly recommend for a good lunch sit down spot, service was quick and good ambiance

Menu

Picture is of the updated menu. Best bang for your buck for sushi, udon, hand rolls, and rolls. Service is quick and efficient. Ambiance is that of a mom and pop sushi shop.

Chicken was fresh and juicy

I bought three lunch boxes today, and the kids absolutely loved the Cal rolls! I'm honestly surprised that in this economy, you can still find such high quality at such a friendly price. The meat was so fresh and delicious--I highly recommend it

What's not to like with pricing dating back to pre-Covid days? Not sure how they do it but their lunch specials are great. Chicken teriyaki was a little well done but still tasty. Definitely will add this place to my lunch rotation when I'm working at my Buena Park office. Ambiance is okay with tables. Make sure you bus your own table. I saw some people just leave without picking up their plates which was uncool. Service is what you'd expect. I'll be back.

The owner is a complete jerk. Besides having a terrible attitude, every other day, he closes the dining room for no apparent reason.

Also first impressions is the shop is really cute with green and pink being the main colors giving it a kitschy and homey feel ^_^. Now onto the food! The crispy sisig was so good and the serving size is big enough for two people! It satisfied my craving for something crunchy and salty. Disclaimer, I've never had sisig before but the added red onion and crisp jalapeño made every bite extra delightful. The halo halo is everything!1!1 honestly a small is big enough for two people and it is packed full of yummy goodness. Best of all the ube soft serve is non dairy! They also closed early without notice which threw us off. We got bicol express, sweet and sour pork, pineapple fried rice, longanisa, and lumpia. Bicol Express- Meat was tender. Sauce had a good creaminess to it and just the right amount of heat. Sweet and Sour Pork- The breading on the pork stayed crisp which was lovely. The sauce had a good balance of sweat and tangy. Pineapple Fried Rice- Flavorful rice and the contrast of the pineapple pieces was bright and refreshing. They gave us a generous portion. Longanisa- This was served silog style with garlic rice and fried egg. Longanisa was sweet and meaty and paired well with rhe rice and egg. A breakfast classic you can eat any time of the day. Lumpia- This is always a favorite. Fried to perfection so you get a crisp exterior and a juicy interior. Paired well with sweet chili dipping sauce. Good experience but service could be improved.

The mix of flavors and textures with the lime, cashews and strawberries worked well together. I could have eaten this whole appetizer by myself. We found it odd it wasn't served with any sort of chips or bread or anything but it was really good regardless. Jjamppong pasta: had just the right amount of spice, though the bottom of the bowl was super spicy. Tomato based soup with mussels, squid and shrimp. Shared between two people. OC Galbi American: marinated short rib comes with fries, corn, coleslaw and dinner rolls. The short rib was marinated and cooked so soft and tender and just right! We opted for the American version because it came with fries and those were fried so good - crispy around the outside/edges but the middle was warm and just the right texture. The corn was prepared kinda like esquite. This entree was also shared between two people but depending on how much a person eats could easily be shared between 2-4 people. We were kinda struggling to finish it all haha There is a server assigned to your table and you can place your order with them or use the tablet on the table. The tablet includes photos for the menu items, which was helpful. Alcohol beverages have to be ordered with the server. Food comes out on a robot cart. We were seated where we could see them line up and prep to deliver food. It was kinda cool to see. The server follows them to the table to actually serve the plates. Random detail: I like that their "chopsticks" are more like thin tongs. It makes it easier for those that have difficulty with traditional chopsticks. They do also have forks if you ask.

TO DIE FOR. Just kidding. I'm still alive and already thinking about going back. I ordered the crispy pork belly with cilantro rice, and WOW. Such a unique dish and incredibly rich in flavor. The pork belly was crispy, savory, and so satisfying, and the cilantro rice was delish! They take an already flavorful dish and elevate it to another level. That combination of Sambal Olek, richness, and their special sauce just brings everything together. This is exactly my kind of hidden gem...nothing fancy, no trendy décor needed, just seriously good food that speaks for itself. Five stars for the food alone. My stomach left very happy

I got the roasted pork (heo quay) vermicelli bowl, and it was a good mix of fresh veggies, bouncy noodles, and crispy pork. I liked that they put a lot of crispy garlic bits. Pho was pretty good. The broth was flavorful and noodles were plentiful. The one miss / skip for me on the menu was the garlic noodles with bulgogi meat. The bulgogi was slightly chewy and didn't taste thattt marinated to me. Garlic noodles were otherwise fine. It was decent enough, but I wouldn't get this again. Solid place when a pho craving hits.

It was our first time trying the mushroom and beef dish, and while it was good, it didn't really stand out compared to the Saltado Fries. Still, no complaints! Service was ok. The servers checked in on us once, and after that, we had to call them over whenever we needed something. We do appreciate them refilling our lychee lemonade, though! That drink was so good! We sat in the outdoor patio area, and it was pretty loud. For some reason, the sound echoed a lot whenever people were talking, which made it a little hard to have a conversation.
