Fantastic Thai in the suburban food mecca which is Thornton :) Oh what a surprise it is when you find a hidden jewel such as Thai Basil. I was tired of going to my other Thai place so yelped around and found this place. I have now visited several times doing either Pad Thai or Drunken Noodles with a variety of proteins, chicken, Beef, shrimp.. and combo. All were very tasty and the price point provides a top notch value. So visit this Thai joint. Be pleasantly surprised and leave with a happy food smile! read more

Very surprised to find this gem in Northglenn - of all places! Excellent Thai food. Excellent, considerate service. Cozy ambience - possible date restaurant. I had the curry chicken with peanut sauce, and my girlfriend had the sesame chicken. I had leftovers to last me two more meals. And for the price? Awesome. I've eaten here only once but will definitely be coming back. read more

Stopped in here for lunch with the husband the other day. I mainly wanted to come here for the thai tea. The tea was very good. The food tasted very similar to some Chinese restaurants I've been to (that's weird) but it was still very good. My husband ordered the spicy ginger shrimp dish and there was not a speck of food left on his plate. He loved it! I had the lemongrass chicken. It was quite tasty, not really what I was expecting (a little sweet) but still good. Next time I will probably try something different. We both ordered lunch sized orders which came with fried rice and one egg roll. I am very hard to please with egg rolls (and spring rolls) and I thought they were less than tasty. I don't like when it's only cabbage in the roll with no carrots (or meat or something!). I gave it to Matt to eat. We also had an order of crab and cream cheese wontons to share. They were really good, not the best I've ever had, but still yummy. However, I almost gave them 3 stars for two reasons. One, the waitress wasn't very friendly. (And considering the capacity is only 32 people you would think you would have a more personable experience.) And two, our account was pending a double-charge for several days. We had to keep checking the account to make sure it wasn't going to double charge us. It didn't (thankfully) but the waitress should have told us she charged us twice and cancelled one of the transactions (for peace of mind). In the end the tea and food definitely made it worth four stars. We will come here again soon to try other items. It's very reasonably priced. I hope they succeed because there wasn't a thai restaurant within an hour of my house before Thai Basil opened. read more

Came in thinking this would be a typical Thai place-we were certainly wrong. We ordered Pad Thai and the Panang Curry thinking there would be a balance of spiciness, sweetness, and salty flavors among others. Our dishes weren't those but comically sweet- almost dessert sweet. Strangely bland yet sweet at the same time, we couldn't finish our food which was a huge waste and disappointment for the amount of money we paid. read more

Went there yesterday for lunch and would definitely return. I had Pad Thai and my wife had Royal Chicken. Both were very good and were huge portions. The service was friendly and fast. The waitress was very helpful and had suggestions for our next visit. Small place but wasn't loud and the tables are not crowded together. Reasonably priced and good variety on the menu. We both liked it and look forward to our next time there. read more

We got the Panang chicken curry-spicy and sesame chicken. Quality white meet and the flavors are down to perfection. Also great service. Thank you. We'll be back. Deserves a much higher rating. This is much closer to a Thai than Chinese food. read more

In town visiting friend and found this little hole in the wall Thai restaurant. Ordered spring roll and pad see ew. Spring roll is huge ... ok tasting but wish less rice noodles. Pad see ew is yummy but a tad salty for me. Definitely will visit again when in town read more

My family loved all of our meals; from spicy scallop red curry, green curry, lo mein, pineapple curry, drunken noodles and szechuan noodles. Everything was hot and delicious. Thanks for the great meals read more

We ordered spring rolls and Pad Thai. The spring rolls have nothing but too many weird noodles, fake shrimp, some gelatinous rice paper and the tiniest amount of cilantro. The Pad Thai tasted like it had a gallon of sugar in it, the meat was that of a $1 dollar Chinese place, and it came with a lemon.... I asked for a lime and they said they don't have limes. I've never been to a Thai place that didn't have limes. Look to other reviews (which I agree with) that say this place is a cheap Chinese place with Thai in the name and no Thai in the actual cuisine. Will not return. read more

I've been here a total of 3 times. . . It's a really clean and tidy place! They did great w/ the decor considering the space they had to work with. The best dish i've had is their Thai eggplant. Their coconut soup is ok and fills the need. Other known goods are their Crab Rangoons and Sriracha Beef. I've had some garlic chicken dish previously. It wasnt that great - and.. well I took it home and it stayed in my fridge for a while, until it was tossed in the trash. The service is alright. This past visit the waitress was polite and attentive. Some waitress we had the first time we ate there was so confused ~ brought out the wrong food, charged us incorrectly and wasn't friendly at all. She even had the cook come out and yell at her.. TWICE!? I felt bad for her! I wanted to hug her and tell her.. just breathe.. it's ok - it's just a job...! My conclusion is - I'll probably skip on this place in the future. I'd rather make the trek down to Swing Thai if I'm craving Thai. read more

Thai Basil - Thai Eggplant - Thai Near Me - Northglenn, Colorado

Always consistently great. We have tried so many dishes but the curries, chicken fried rice, pad thai, drunken noodles, soups and sides are our faves. Delivery comes quickly and correctly every time. We are never disappointed and this has been a staple in our household even more so now. read more

Drunken noodles had an ok taste to them but were way too greasy to be considered great & they lacked garlic & spice which hurt my soul. The staff seemed nice but as far as the food goes I probably won't be coming back to here read more

This place is always delicious. We've ordered several different dishes & they're always good. We eat here a couple times a month & glad they stayed open through the hard times of 2020. We love your food & your staff is always nice! Thank you for the great experiences! read more

This place was extremely good, I was impressed since I usually don't like going to places I'm not sure of but they give you quite a bit of food for the price and everything tasted super super fresh^_^ I had chicken pineapple curry and the chicken wasn't dry(which is something I experience with a lot of Currys) and the curry had a bit of spice to it, perfect amount to cut the sweetness. The waitress and staff were all extremely nice. read more

Read the reviews and the restaurant is very close to my hotel. The Tom Yum Soup was very flavorsome as was the red chicken curry. Their spice heat levels are very low, that said every thing was yummy and very satisfying Will definitely give Thai Basil another try, looking forward to it! read more

The food was really really good. We had the chicken coconut soup and TOM yum soup. Spring rolls and chicken appetizers and a beer $23 we were so full we had to take the chicken home. Oh and the peanut sauce wozer. Really good food read more

So glad we were nearby and tried this place tonight! Compared to other places in the area, I think this might be one of my favorites now. We ordered pineapple curry, panang curry, and drunken noodles. The portions are huge. I couldn't even eat half of my curry, but that's ok because leftovers are always good! The flavors of the curry were excellent, however, it was a bit sweet for my tastes, and wasn't at all spicy even though I asked for med-hot. I think if it were spicier then it would've balanced the sweetness better. The drunken noodles were my favorite though...very flavorful, although again not as spicy as I'd like. I think next time I'll just ask for as hot as they can make it then it might be better. Despite the lack of spice, the food overall was great and the service for pick up was extremely fast (they had it ready in 10 minutes). read more

So this place has the BEST of everything...I've been coming here for 8 years and it's some of the most delicious Thai food...their peanut sauce is to die for paired with spring rolls. The service is outstanding, very sweet people who have great memories and have always remembered me and what I do for work and also my kiddo...when I eat here I feel like I'm At home and I feel very cared for. If you've never been here you should definitely give it a try...everything tastes so fresh and authentic, I am a Thai Basil customer for life read more

This review is for Sunday, March 18th. I came in for dinner around 6:30pm and the restaurant was fairly busy. The person at the front register was on the phone, and curt with her acknowledgement, but then the nice waitress showed me to a seat. I like that they have some Chinese options, as well as the regular Thai fare. I was even happier that I was able to order an appetizer and a soup for one person (usually you have to order a soup large enough for two people. WOW did the Coconut Chicken soup come with a TON of Chicken. (It doesn't say Tom Kah Gai on the menu) Holy crap their Thai ice tea is SWEET. And then I waited... and waited... did I mention I waited for my Panang Curry Chicken to show up? It finally arrived and they must of been trying to make up for the wait - it also had a TON of chicken. The curry had good flavor, and it was decent quantity for two to make a meal out of. I may go back - and go a little earlier, or a little later next time. To the reviewer who ordered Teriyaki Chicken from a Thai restaurant: Shame on you! If you want Teriyaki, go to a Teriyaki place. read more

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. Mine and hubbys favorite date night place. They have Coke product (a plus for me) their crab wontons are amazing! My husband loves their potstickers. They are stuffed full and not skimpy at all. This time we went we decided to both try something new. I got pineapple shrimp curry and he got the duck. The curry was good I liked it but GET THE DUCK you will not be disappointed. In the past we have gotten the sesame chicken and the orange beef and those are very good as well. All around just love this place. Small space. Romantic. Great staff. Awesome food. Next time will be trying the noodles read more

I would highly recommend this restaurant whether you dine in or take out. The food is delicious. The staff are friendly. It has a nice atmosphere. Note: they are closed on Mondays.. read more

Nothing special about my experience here. Green curry chicken was fine. Portions were reasonable - maybe a couple dollars overpriced for the amount. Chicken was either impressively tenderized or not real chicken - still can't decide. With a lack of Thai food up north, I may still find my way back here. But I'd rather go somewhere else. Not bad here, just nothing special. read more

thai tea 10/10 Food 3/10 We just order pad thai and it was okay at best. Little to no seasoning read more

The service was extremely terrible. From the moment we walked in when the women was clearly in a bad mood, she slammed our food and credit card on the table. When I asked for a couple extra packets of soy sauce she snapped back that there was already some in the bag. Which is why I had asked for extra, there was two packets in the bag. And she got even more upset when I asked for 2 Thai Chili sauce (none in the bag). She gave me one, even tho we had 2 main dish orders. I asked for another and she said no, you pay. Pay for a small chili sauce? I order Thai from alot of places, and never have I been charged for chili sauce when for the amount of food ordered (one sauce per dish). Most places have the sauce out on the tables when you dine in.. Just moved to the area and I will definitely not return, her attitude was bad enough. ***Update base on the food*** The Drunken Noodles were delicious, full of favor, nice and spicy. The Pad Thai, was not so great. No favor, tasteless, only had a hint of curry and lemon. Missing oyster sauce and peanuts.. Based on the food alone, I would not come back to this place. Pad Thai is one of my favorite dishes, and that was not Pad Thai. read more

This place is delicious and the service is wonderful. Pineapple curry was delectable. Great flavor with fresh mushrooms, pineapples, chicken, jalapeño. Strongly recommend. Loved the spring rolls with yummy peanut sauce. The drunken noodles are also fantastic. Strong flavor. Delicious!! Everything was so reasonably priced. This is definitely my go to Thai food!!! read more

The food was not flavorful and my egg roll had a hair in it . Only perk is that it's open late.

Ate here for lunch today, first time at a Thai Basil, so my experience is specifically for this location. Ordered a pork noodle bowl, which was the worst I have ever had. I make them better at home. Theirs had no carrots, cilantro, mint, peanuts, cucumber, bean sprouts, jalapeno...just over cooked pork and rice noodles with fish sauce. Then, we had to order bottle water as they wouldn't serve tap water due to COVID, an extra buck. All meals served in to go containers with plastic forks. If you want noodle bowls, go to The Asian Cafe, E. 104th and Colorado, those are legit! read more

I'm not sure why Thai basil has a 3.5 star rating. It was fabulous. We ordered egg rolls and dumplings as starters and my husband declared the egg rolls to be the best he's ever had. They were light in texture, but substantial in filling. The dumplings came out fast and were incredibly good. We both ordered pad Thai, one with chicken and one with shrimp. The portions were huge for $9.95. Both of our protein choices were plentiful. Definitely more than expected. The shrimp was cooked to perfection...not rubbery at all. In addition, the service was attentive yet not overbearing. I highly recommend Thai Basil. read more

Oh man, was this good! We ordered the chicken curry with peanut sauce and the green curry, both full of vegetables and flavor. We got Vietnamese egg rolls too which were unbelievably delicious. This place is a new favorite. Go to Thai Basil. read more

This was absolutely the worst Thai food I have ever had. The green curry was way to sweet and tasted like they just threw everything together in a bowl warmed it up and sent it out. The pad Thai had 0 flavor, again was too sweet and the noodles where mushy. It felt like all ingredients were precooked/ chopped and just throw together upon ordering. read more

We've never dined in, but our few takeout experiences here have been solid. Food is good, prices are normal, service is extremely fast.

Great value, big portions, nice friendly staff. Definitely recommend for family and dates

This is by no means a Thai restaurant and there is an old obnoxious rude man working in the front counter taking orders. After I place my order I asked him for the sauce that is traditionally supposed to be served with the Thai fried rice and I use the Thai term for it and he had no clue what I was talking about. Serving Thai food and surprised by him not knowing, I asked him if they are not Thai and then he tells me that he doesn't not have to be Thai to be serving Thai food. I don't care where he's from but if he's working around Thai food he needs to know about it. I tried the food and after the first sip I threw the Thai spicy soup away cause it tasted so awful that it was inedible, the peanut curry chicken was too sweet and too creamy and no spice or taste at all and the Thai fried rice had nothing Thai about it, tasted exactly like a Chinese fried rice but no taste or spice it was actually sweet. If this is considered a Thai restaurant by far this is the worst Thai food I've ever tried. If you are looking for Thai food and if you try this place get ready to be disappointed. You get some awful food plus an attitude from the old man. read more

Just meh. Not bad, not great. We got the chicken drunken noodles and Panang curry. We ordered spicy and they were medium. Noodles were kind of oily. read more

We love the Thai food here. Our family usually orders the Pad Tai, Drunken Noodles, soft crab, soups, and we've tried several other things too. Everything we've had has been great and service fast. We've also order the food through a delivery service and we're not disappointed! read more

not bad, I ordered the pad thai and it was okay. Pretty sweet with A LOT of peanuts. Needed more spice, veggies or anything! probably wouldn't order it again but maybe try something else on the menu read more

One star based on service and manager. Servers walked by us like five times and just looked at us. A table for four came in they got their water and order taken before we even got served. had to get up and asked if we could be served. Ordered something that just said it had a mild spice but it was super spicy, so much we couldn't even eat it, so we sent it back and the manager tried to argue with us And got pissy. Food was good but not worth the manager and the poor customer service. read more

Now having experienced so much Thai in California, I was hesitant, but looking forward to trying some Colorado Thai. Sadly, I didn't end up actually eating Thai, I ended up ordering their Vietnamese vermicelli dish. I was pleasently surprised and delighted! I have recently become obsessed with vietnamese and was sad to see that they did not have my usual yellow curry, so I ordered it. It was delicious and the fish sauce had a nice kick to it, which I haven't experienced before. As well, I topped off my meal with a delicious Thai tea, which is very difficult to mess up. If I am ever in the area, or decide to move out that way, I would definitely make this one of my go-to restaurants, so you should definitely check it out! read more

Quite honestly I have no idea why people like this place. Yes, it's the best Thai place in Thornton, because it's the ONLY Thai place in Thornton. We live down wind from Thai Basil and the smell is amazing. The taste of the food doesn't even come close to the exterior smell. We went once and will never return. We got Pad Thai, which tasted like lime more than anything else. Other than that it had no flavor what so ever. The rest of the food I don't remember because it also had no flavor. This is a general problem up here in Thornton, the food has no flavor, no spice. I'm actually glad I'll be moving to Denver in a couple months, the food in Denver is so much better. I'm just flat out disappointed in this place I can't stand it. read more

Food was fantastic and fresh. Great customer service as well. We ordered spring rolls, chicken pad Thai, thai basil shrimp and a Thai tea.
