    barely any green beans

Large Disappointment. We need a good Thai place close for sit down and take out... this is not it unless they fix a bunch of stuff. We ordered 5 different dishes. Flavors were good on most (Pineapple rice had no flavor) and they were all lacking vegies and/or meat. For example see the photo I posted of Pad Ga Praw. I've eaten this dish ~100 times at ~30 different Thai restaurants around the USA. This version is the only one that didnt have a ton of Green Beans, which is supposed to be half the darn entrée! This is a take out place since the ambiance is a solid "We dont want you to eat here so we did nothing to make it comfortable or enjoyable." vibe. We ordered online exactly 1 hour prior to pickup (online it said it could be ready in as soon as 16 minutes). When we arrived only 2 of the 5 dishes were ready. They did get them done quickly but really it should have been done easily by then. - Pad Ga Praw, great flavor, no veg! - Pineapple Fried rice was 98% rice, not much flavor and hardly any meat or cashews, no raisins that I could see, etc - Khao Soi had almost very little meat, and no veg at all other than the bean sprouts they give you on the side - Thai Curry, great flavor, good amt of veg, ok on the meat but could use more. - Larb Salad, good flavor, lacked onions and had only 1 tiny lettuce leaf.

So nice, I went twice in one week! The service is wonderful here, I ordered mostly vegetarian options & when I placed my wonton soup order, they were so attentive they wanted to make sure I was aware there was chicken in the wontons. I really appreciated them taking the time to ask! Not only that, but the soup was delicious and the Pad Thai is some of the best I've ever had! Just the right amount of heat and texture. I am going to make this spot my Lafayette go-to!

Incredible. I was too ambitious on the spicy level of my fried rice. I take responsibility for my decisions and will suffer the consequences. 10/10 would recommend.

Mango red curry with pork was, as the kids say, fire. Yum! I ordered medium, and it was a bit on the hot side.

I followed Yelp's suggestion and took a chance on a new place. I'm glad I did. I'll be back. The ambiance isn't fancy, if that's what you're looking for, but the food is so good and the service is friendly.

We had the Khao Soi, Thai Iced Tea, and Mango Sticky Rice. It was all great, food came quickly and the service was good.

What we swallowed: *THAI EGG ROLLS: These were tasty. *FRIED TOFU *POTSTICKERS *TOM KHA: Very good. We really liked the fresh veggies in the soup. *DRUNKEN NOODLE; There was something about this dish we couldn't place our fingers on that tasted off. *THREE TASTE CHICKEN: Crunchy, breaded chicken with sauce and steamed broccoli. *RED CURRY BEEF: We didn't realize there was eggplant in this dish. *DEEP FRIED FISH IN GINGER SAUCE: So I ordered this dish specifically because it said 'deep fried' but it did not come out that way. May a quick sear but not deep fried. *MANGO STICKY RICE: This was really good. We would come here for this alone. Our favorite was the tom kha and the mango sticky rice. The other dishes were OK. Still on the search for a thicker curry...

We usually order same, a soup and a curry and at times, we order dessert of mango and sticky rice. Most of time the dessert is pretty good, but there are times when the mango is sour and it really turns mee off to ordering it. We pay so much extra for dessert, we would like sweet mangoes and if they don't have it, they should say, instead of giving us sour mangoes. I have never eaten there, I can't even say, I picked up orders there. It's mostly my husband. I have ordered online and it's very specific, which is nice if you're picky eater. We usually order there pretty often and soup, with curry always meets expectations. It's just the dessert.

Bangkok Avenue delivered a large take-out order for five people last nite that was, from start to…read morefinish, deeply forgettable. The common thread across every dish was not inconsistency but uniform blandness. What arrived on our table lacked taste, energy, and intention, as if the kitchen was simply executing recipes without engagement or care. The moo ping should have been a highlight sweet, smoky, caramelized, and alive with char. Instead, it arrived hollow and lifeless, missing the marinade and fire that define the dish. There was no depth, no fragrance, no sense that the cook believed in what was being served. The accompanying rice was merely filler, and an additional order of Thai fried rice continued the same pattern: edible, but flat, dull, and entirely uninspired. My wife's gluten-free Pad Thai with tofu, a dish built on balance and brightness, was especially disappointing. It lacked acidity, sweetness, umami, and spice every note that gives Pad Thai its character. The noodles felt seasoned out of obligation rather than intention. It was food that offered no pleasure and no reason to return to it, ultimately left unfinished out of sheer indifference. This experience was not about spice tolerance, dietary restriction, or personal preference. Five people ordered widely, and the conclusion was unanimous: nothing stood out, nothing lingered, nothing satisfied. When every plate is this muted, it signals more than an off night it suggests a chef cooking without inspiration, without curiosity, and without soul. Thai cuisine is bold by nature. Having eaten throughout Thailand, we know that even the most modest street stall delivers food with clarity, confidence, and heart. What was served here bore little resemblance to that tradition. Last night (contrary to other nights and lunches in the past) , Bangkok Avenue did not simply miss the mark it stripped Thai food of the very element that makes it special: taste. I liked that it came with a good amount of fresh veggies. Dish was a bit under-seasoned, could have used more salt and depth of flavor. I ordered medium spice and then added more spice to make up for the lack of flavor. I'd come back to try some more traditional Thai dishes, but was a little disappointed with the ramen.
