The place itself is run down and dirty inside. The owner was alone when we came in at 11:30. She was rude and short with us. A server came in about 15 minutes later and she was nice. The food was ok nothing to rave about. The thing that was the most interring was the cardboard sign in the bathroom that said no toilet paper and the two trash cans without lids full of months of dirty used toilet paper. If you're going to make people not flush their dirty toilet paper at least get off your lazy ass and take the trash out. This is probably the dirtiest most disgusting restaurant I have ever been to. Thai House Meh. Charged $2.00 by management to add a slice of lime to my pad Thai dish. Totally unacceptable. Would not return. Ambiance was okay, a small restaurant that could also pass for Mexican, with four tables and seven booths. Relatively clean. Food was hit or miss. Pad Thai was okay. Thai tea was way too sweet and tasted canned, not fresh. Chicken satay was dry and overcooked. Spring rolls were bland, but the peanut sauce improved the flavor. While we decided to give this local Thai restaurant a chance, the fact that we were charged for a "double order" of lime (seriously?!) when I had only requested a small slice of lime for my pad Thai dish, which comes standard at all other Thai restaurants, was totally unacceptable. Our power went out right as I was about to start dinner, so I called for carry out since it is near by. My husband got chicken drunken noodles. I got pad tofu and for some reason I didn't read the menu closely and thought it was like pad Thai with tofu but it was just tofu with a little veg and sauce with rice. It took little while for them to prepare our food but it is close by so it was nice and hot when I got home. It's very clean and the service was good. We both really enjoyed our food but I would have liked more veg with my tofu. We will definitely order from here again. I'm looking forward to trying some more of their veggie options. read more

My first impression of Thai House tonight was that it looked very warm and inviting. Upon walking through the doors, this feeling was compounded when my friend and I were greeted by the sweet young woman who was working front of house. We ordered take out and I got the House Pad Thai and chicken spring rolls. I communicated that I wanted only chicken in the pad Thai, but unbeknownst to me the House Pad Thai, a staple of their menu includes shrimp in the base order description. Whether by lack of clarity on my part, or by simple human error on that of the staff, shrimp was included in my order and I am unfortunately quite allergic. I called and explained my predicament, and the owner was apologetic and offered to remake the order for me. I wasn't thrilled about the extra driving, but man am I glad I drove back because I can confidently report that Thai House's chicken pad Thai is the best I've had in town. Normally an experience like this might leave a sour taste in my mouth. However in rare instances like my experience tonight, the staffs response to the initial mistake (paired with the amazing pad thai) uniquely demonstrated that Thai House is a high quality establishment, operated by kind and fair people. I have tried several drunken noodle dishes around Denver and the metro area; this is by far, one of my favorite places I've gotten it from! There was so much flavor in the dish. We used to come here often 4 years ago and had always been fond of their dishes. After living overseas the past 3 years, we wanted to give them another try. The food was not like we remembered, even though we tried 4 dishes. One common theme we saw in our dishes was pre-cooked, seemingly boiled, bland meat that seems to have been thrown in at the end as an after thought. Pad See Yew: Best dish of the night but still not very good. Pre-cooked meat was not good. The medium spice was nice and spicy but the meat made the dish not so good. Pad Woon Sen: The entire dish was not seasoned... at all. I asked for medium and couldn't even taste salt, let alone anything else. The massive chunks of pre-cooked white chicken were completely devoid of any flavor. Beef and Broccoli: My teenage daughter's go-to dish... you know something is wrong when she's asking Siri what makes beef look grey. The beef was obviously pre-cooked, most likely boiled and looked like mystery meat. She was throwing the mystery meat to the dogs. She still liked the broccoli. Basil Fried Rice: Again, we asked for medium spice and it tasted like the whole dish was just plain rice with Basil. Not good. Even the tofu was tasteless. I hate to give Thai house a low rating because they used to be one of our favorite spots (haven't gone there on a couple years) but the takeout we got was just so disappointing. Massaman curry was bizarrely sweet. I mean spit back on your plate sweet. Maybe someone substituted sweetened coconut cream or condensed milk for regular coconut milk? So maybe what I got to taste was an accident? It did have some fun vegetables, so that was nice to try and pick out a few to eat. My husband ordered his dish spicy and there was no discernible spiciness at all. The egg rolls seemed fresh but only came with soy sauce so we added our own sauces. I can't believe I've never reviewed this place. I have been going here for years, though not often since it is out of the way, and it remains the best place for thai curry I have been to. The green curry is by far my favorite, and I love it with the fried tofu. We have also had the red, panang, masaman, and pumpkin curries - all are delicious! (My husband prefers his with chicken, he has a prejudice against tofu :) I have also had the Pad Thai, sweet rice with mango and thai tea with boba - all good. It's been a few years since I've been back and the quality is terrible. The portions are so small that it's a joke. The sticky rice (attached) was $2 worth and was hard and old. The curry portion was so small and mostly veggies. We ordered medium and spicy and none of the food was spicy. For a Thai place that's not a good thing. It seems like ownership has changed as well? The servers were very quiet and didn't say anything. We ordered: - medium spicy pork panang curry - hot spicy chicken larb - medium spicy pad thai - spicy papaya (Lao style) I don't recommend this place anymore. If you want spicy and better portions go somewhere else. More in depth about the food, I'm Asian and have been to my fair share of Asian restaurants and this was disappointing. The papaya salad was missing major ingredients and was nowhere near authentic. The larb was very sour and not spicy at all. The pad Thai and curry were good. Fresh clean cups on a dirty trash can. On top of that only one chef on a Friday night. Being from Los Angeles I know about good food (like sushi... it's either a hit or miss) and to find this jewel of a place warms my heart and tummy. Even though I saw what I saw(the cups) the wait for the food was well worth it. I would like to apologize for being so antsy to this wonderful staff. I highly recommend this place for the quality cuisine they execute. 5 stars on the food. 3 for the bathroom that nobody closes after their done with their business, but that's not the restaurants fault. Order ahead of time... for pick ups. They don't do well with takeout on the spot, but I'm sure they can work on that by having another chef! Just left there with a dinner portion off Chicken Pad Thai Spicy level 4 for my lunch. The waitress was a little short (demeanor, not stature) ... not certain if she is shy or just doesn't like to be there. The food was very quick, however, when I got back to my office the flavor was God-awful. The noodles were very dry, and the only flavor one could pick out of the dish was burnt fish sauce. What changed?? I cut back on eating out but used to Frequent this place. When friends were in town this is where we would go if we wanted to stay close to the house. Drove around N Wadsworth & N Sheridan area post-workout looking for a new place, and stumbled across Thai House, in a little collection of strip buildings loosely jumbled around a strip mall. First piece of advice: if you're driving around at night in this complex, and you loop in from 80th, and turn right, and then there is another sign after that that says "thai house (right arrow), *do not turn that way*. That's not the building you're looking for. Keep going past that sign and turn LEFT. You'll be next to a little strip building with "The Egg and I", "Papa John's", and yay, finally, Thai House. I walked in and, like other people who have commented, the decor is nothing fancy here. Small tables for 2 and 4 scattered across the floor, and booths typically built to seat 4 along the walls. Small Thai-design statues and a few prints go along the walls, and the lighting in the place seems to lean towards a yellow tinge, not white. At the order counter, there are 2 small plaques there displaying awards from Citysearch in 2007/2008 for, I don't recall the exact wording, but along the lines of "Best Thai In Denver". I was somewhat skeptical but it wouldn 't be the first time some small, no-frills decor place had great food. They also have a $6.50 lunch buffet, and most lunch specials seem to be priced at $5.95. Thai House has all the stereotypical Thai foods here and a few unique looking ones (pumpkin red curry, awesome, gotta try that!), as well as 9 vegetarian dishes on their menu - and 12 different types of salads. Some of the unusual dishes were "Saiua", which is spicy Thai sausage with ginger, fresh chili, peanuts and lettuce; and "mee krob", which are fried rice sticks with pork, shrimp and tofu stir-fried in a special sauce. You can order your foods at 5 levels of heat: mild, medium, hot, extra hot, and "thai hot". After perusing the menu for a good 10+ minutes (there were that many tempting selections) I ordered a small (16 oz) "tom kar kai" (chicken, coconut and lemongrass soup), 2 spring rolls, and finally gave up and ordered the panang curry, spiced medium as well as the soup. The soup is very flavorful although I'd say it was spiced "hot" versus the medium...no biggie though, it's still delicious and doesn't burn for minutes in your mouth The rich liquid portion tastes like a combination of coconut milk and cream of tomato soup -- so good. The spring rolls are great and forego the rice noodles in favor of fresh herbs and veggies, which was a pleasant change (not that I hate rice noodles, it was just a cool changeup). I ordered pork with my panang curry and the meat was very tender, swimming in a gravy of bamboo shoots, basil and of course, the curry and coconut milk. It was served with glutinous white rice which suits the dish well, better than normal white rice, I'd venture to say. You can substitute noodles for rice in any non-noodle dish, but it'll run you $2 extra...more than the $1 or even free substitutions in some places. Staff was pleasant, and food came out in about 10 minutes time; 1 order of the curry and rice is probably enough to carry you into 2 meals, almost definitely if you have a side with it like I did. They do have beer and wine, I didn't observe any hard booze here. Low on pretention, high on flavor -- I'll be back for sure! It's not the best Thai I've had, but it seems to be solidly good fare. read more

I downgraded my previous review by two stars for the following reasons: 1.They are always short staffed, so you do not get your drinks refilled often and it may take a while to place the order. They usually have 1 waitress serving 10 or so tables. 2.The spice level is inconsistent. The curries at Thai House are excellent (definitely one of the better ones in the Greater Denver area), but the spice level varies. One day I ordered green curry medium, and I barely tasted any spice at all. On my next visit I ordered the same dish hot. Unfortunately, I couldn't even get halfway through my dish because the heat was burning my lips and my mouth. By the way, I eat a lot of spicy foods, so my tolerance level is really high. On most visits the spice level would match the requested level. 3. We were extremely let down during our last visit. First and foremost, they forgot to put any shrimps into my yellow curry noodles dish. The dish is supposed to come with chicken and shrimp as written in the menu. We promptly alerted the server of the missing shrimps . The waitress only said sorry and that's it. We thought she was going to bring out a side of shrimps but we never got anything. It's kinda sad that we didn't get to have what we paid for. 4. Pad Thai was served red(???) and it had quite a sizable chunk of an eggshell(!!!) in the dish. That's a health hazard right there. 5. Do not order soft shell crab. You will get a super teeny tiny crabie drenched in a huge amount of mediocre dough (A hint to the cooks at Thai House - when deep frying always put the food on the paper towel to absorb some of the grease). I used to love Thai House and always highly recommended the restaurant to my friends. For the most part the food is great, but the inconsistency and poor customer service are certainly the reasons why I won't be visiting the restaurant any time soon. read more

We got takeout from here last night and were incredibly pleased with everything we had. We've had Thai food from a handful of places in the area and this was by far the best. We had drunken noodle, pad see ew, lo mein, duck & pineapple curry, chicken larb and mango sticky rice. The flavor of the larb was amazing and I would gladly get it again. My husband order his pad see ew hot and it was actually very spicy (most places are not spicy enough when we ask for hot). I know you don't normally think about ordering lo mein from a Thai restaurant but it really was that good. Even though this is a 20 minute drive from our house, I will order from here in a second again! They are only doing takeout right now and the wait was over an hour, so FYI if you are ordering now.
