    Pad Thai with Chicken
    Kait W.

It's rare that service truly wows me anymore, which is why I'm here to tell you that you NEED to check out this incredible unassuming Thai spot. I had been to La Mai a few years back and remembered it being tasty and quite empty so when we were looking for a last minute option for a dinner date, this spot came to mind. We walked in and were able to seat ourselves immediately in their intimate dining room. We were one of maybe 7 couples there in total, a very relaxing environment. The food was delicious, exactly what you'd expect out of an American Thai restaurant, your favorite dishes like pad see ew and pad Thai of course, with some fusion appetizers like crab rangoon and delicious themed beverages. When I asked about the spice level, Dan gave me a great example to work off of, noting a "sriracha level spice" for their medium spice. The real star of the show, however, was our server, Dan. Dan went above and beyond to explain the menu to us, going into detail about the type of basil used and delighting the nerds in us with his knowledge and detail. What really stuck out to me was this instance, though: his creative problem solving! I ordered a mocktail that has boba in it, and they had unfortunately run out of boba straws. Instead of leaving me to my own devices, Dan offered a long spoon so I could scoop the boba out, but on top of that, he also brought over an extra side of the boba so I wouldn't have to fish for it if I didn't want to! Totally unprompted! I mean WOW. Local content creators will tell you service in Denver is dead, Dan is proving that wrong. We will definitely be returning, we usually order Thai as takeout, but this experience will definitely create dine-in customers out of us. You've got to check this spot out!

Loved this spot! Our waiter was very attentive and the food came out so quick! It was the best pad Thai I've had in Denver for sure. Perfect peanut balanced flavor.

Massaman with chicken, Roti, jasmine rice ($23)

Today at La Mai Thai kitchen I tried the best massaman curry that I have ever had. It was rich, full of flavor and a large portion. I loved the whole peanuts mixed in to the curry, it made for a great crunch. The Thai iced tea was also the best I've ever had, it was perfectly sweet and full of Thai tea flavor. My mom got the pad thai: it was creamy and flavorful, with the right amount of sweetness. It wasn't too heavy on the peanut flavor. The massaman came with fried roti, which was flaky and delicious with the curry. It was a large portion for $23, which included chicken; beef is extra. We tried the crab cheese wontons, they were light on crab but delectably soft and warm with a tasty sauce. Overall, La Mai Thai kitchen will probably be my new go-to Thai place.

I had a lunch here with my brother last week. I had really been looking forward to it because this is my favorite Thai restaurant in Denver and I just didn't think the food was as good as it used to be. The chicken was a little rough our Thai iced teas were very good But I wish I would've ordered differently, especially since my brother is in accustomed to Thai food and I am not sure he's super loved it

I've been here a few times and every visit it's fantastic & consistent. The staff is super nice and welcoming. The menu has a great variety and everything is so good-- it can make ordering a challenge just because you want a little bit of everything (I highly recommended going with some friends for this reason). The food is super fresh, made to order and great flavors. This is a go to spot especially on those cold winter days. Highly recommend and will absolutely be back!

This place was in my 'Want to Try' folder and I was in the area so I decided to stop by! Popped in just before dinner time and the place was about half full. Cute decor and lighting, even has a bar for seating and drinks. Ordered the Pad Thai, and unfortunately they don't offer pork so I settled on chicken. Other protein choices were tofu and beef...I'll probably go with tofu next time. They had varying spice levels, mild to very spicy. Medium was a perfect level for me but I still felt like the sauce was a bit too sweet. I'm not sure if this can be adjusted or not. I did like that the server (maybe owner?) offered chopsticks in addition to the fork placed on the table. Overall, the best Thai I've had so far since moving to Denver. Will definitely go again and try other menu items!!

La Mai Thai is a cute Thai restaurant right by sloans lake. I ordered the lunch special- pad Thai with chicken and two chicken dumplings (all for $16!) and a Thai iced tea. The food came out quickly and was extremely delicious (although a bit too saucy for my liking). Service was exceptional and our server Dan attended to all our needs. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal at La Mai Thai and look forward to coming back!

We got here on a random Sat for dinner and were seated right away. Elegant and chill vibe throughout the moment we walked in. Service was prompt and friendly. Here's everything we ordered: son tum, Tom kha, crispy chicken Khao soi, and la mai pad Thai with beef. Everything was pretty tasty except the turmeric in the Khao soi broth was a bit overwhelming the rest of the dish. Overall, decent place to grab some Thai food for your family.

My friends and I came for a quick bite. We shared pad Thai noodles, drunken noodles and egg rolls. What wasn't pictured was the vegetarian curry that my friend ordered. The only feedback was that the curry was too watery for our liking. Besides that, the noodles were very savory and packed with flavors. Our waitress was very attentive and frequently refilled our waters. We had a great time here.

I think la mai Thai is a solid option for Thai in Edgewater! It's not as spicy as other Thai places in Denver/Edgewater but I their portions make up for it!! We usually get the pad see ew and the Panang curry but switched it up this time and got the Thai fried rice. I got the hot option and it really didn't have too much heat to it! Super flavorful though and the portions WILL fill you up!! We order for pick up and walk there and it's always ready in less than 15 minutes it's awesome

    Pad See Ew w chicken

Tried La Mai and would give it a Meh for the following reasons. The Pad See Ew had very little flavor. The noodles were good and the chicken sliced thin and prepared well but it was light in color and not a lot of flavor. I assume they went too light on the soy sauces. We also had the boat noodle soup. The flavors were good but the beef was way overcooked and not tender. It also was light on any vegetables and only had bean sprouts and a basil bunch. The chicken wing appetizer was fried perfectly for a good crunch but still moist on the inside. The sauce for the chicken wings was pretty good but not awesome or unique - think sweet Thai chili sauce. The service was very good and we liked both the server and who we think might be the owner came to check on us. The ambiance was nice. Unfortunately the first two tables we sat at were very sticky and we kept moving until we found a clean table. It was a 3 star experience but I give 4 stars because I feel there is potential if they tighten up the areas mentioned.

A cozy Thai food spot right near Sloan Lake. The food was seasoned, well-done and flavorful with an affordable lunch special combo. We ordered the shrimp fried rice and the Pad Thai lunch combo. The side salad it came with was fresh and the dressing was a tasty peanut sauce. The staff was very accommodating when I ordered the Thai coffee and was not a fan. They switch it to a Thai tea and I was very grateful for the grace they gave me. Thank you very much to their team.

This place was so delicious, we traveled to Colorado for my birthday celebration and was looking for somewhere to eat. I am so glad we stop here. From the beginning to the end the food and service was excellent. The inside was clean and had cute decor. If I ever come back to Colorado I will eat here and recommend to anyone. Get the Thai tea it's so delicious, I had Thai tea before but this one was different.

Portions were on the smaller side, especially for the price--we spent around $60 for two entrées and an appetizer, which felt a bit steep for the quality. Our server rarely checked on us, even though we were seated right next to the counter. At one point, we also felt a bit rushed. We were repeatedly asked if we were done, despite it not being close to closing time and there being plenty of open tables. We were still eating--literally had one spring roll left--and a staff member tried to take the plate after we had already said we were finishing it. There are definitely a few things that could be improved. Overall, not the best Thai food experience in Denver, unfortunately.

There has been a recent boom in Thai restaurants all over Denver and I am here for it! The restaurant does a really good job of cultivating a spot ideal to grab some Thai food while also having a business lunch. It is clear that the wait staff was trained to handle those kinds of customers very well. It is also just loud enough in there to not be awkward in between conversation but quiet enough to easily hear the person across from you. Just for that, I don't hesitate to bring my customers here. With that said, their lunch special is at a very reasonable price and the portions are such that you won't be falling asleep at your desk after lunch. The dinner prices are, in my opinion, very inflated. The food itself is pretty good. The appetizers leave a lot to be desired but the entrees are good and close enough to being authentic. I'm a big fan of their true Thai spice levels. If you haven't had Thai food or are unaware of the Thai spice levels, please start with mild or ask the wait staff to explain. I will be visiting more in the future for my business lunches!

So pleased in fact that I often got a craving and today I finally got the chance to satisfy that craving. Unfortunately, when my order arrived, I could tell at first glance that the duck portion was anemic. It looked dried out and shriveled up and pathetically small. In retrospect, I should've told the server it was not acceptable, but my general tendency is to not make a big issue about it and carry on. However, not only was the portion compromise, but also the taste. On top of the food deficiency, I sat at the bar, and when I sat down and looked down the bar, half of the chairs had rips, tears, and or duct tape, and this made me wonder what deficiencies or issues might exist in the kitchen, given the neglect of those items. I was extremely disappointed, my craving for what I had experienced previously is it delicious meal was unfulfilled, and my general tendency in these situations is not go back to such an establishment and risk disappointment again. After all, we all know the phrase fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me. I like to see businesses in general and especially restaurant succeed, and I hope the owners will take these comments into account so they don't join the growing list of restaurants that are closing in Denver. Listening to customers is an excellent business strategy. I would consider my first meal here of five star experience but regrettably this one has charitably been given to stars. Cook should know when they have an item that even a casual glance is subpar not to serve it. Cooking skill is one thing. Judgment and discernment are also important skills. If you wouldn't serve it to your best friend or close relative, don't serve it to a customer.
