Loved this spot! Our waiter was very attentive and the food came out so quick! It was the best pad Thai I've had in Denver for sure. Perfect peanut balanced flavor.

Pad Thai with Chicken

It's rare that service truly wows me anymore, which is why I'm here to tell you that you NEED to check out this incredible unassuming Thai spot. I had been to La Mai a few years back and remembered it being tasty and quite empty so when we were looking for a last minute option for a dinner date, this spot came to mind. We walked in and were able to seat ourselves immediately in their intimate dining room. We were one of maybe 7 couples there in total, a very relaxing environment. The food was delicious, exactly what you'd expect out of an American Thai restaurant, your favorite dishes like pad see ew and pad Thai of course, with some fusion appetizers like crab rangoon and delicious themed beverages. When I asked about the spice level, Dan gave me a great example to work off of, noting a "sriracha level spice" for their medium spice. The real star of the show, however, was our server, Dan. Dan went above and beyond to explain the menu to us, going into detail about the type of basil used and delighting the nerds in us with his knowledge and detail. What really stuck out to me was this instance, though: his creative problem solving! I ordered a mocktail that has boba in it, and they had unfortunately run out of boba straws. Instead of leaving me to my own devices, Dan offered a long spoon so I could scoop the boba out, but on top of that, he also brought over an extra side of the boba so I wouldn't have to fish for it if I didn't want to! Totally unprompted! I mean WOW. Local content creators will tell you service in Denver is dead, Dan is proving that wrong. We will definitely be returning, we usually order Thai as takeout, but this experience will definitely create dine-in customers out of us. You've got to check this spot out!

Yummy Thai food, the hosts were friendly and the kitchen worked fast! We ordered takeout, but can't wait to come back to sit and enjoy the romantic, softly lit dining room. The Lamai Pad Thai was delicious, hinting a sour-tangy undertone. I would have preferred the regular chicken to avoid the crispy chicken getting soggy. I suggest mild spice if you're sensitive!

I had a lunch here with my brother last week. I had really been looking forward to it because this is my favorite Thai restaurant in Denver and I just didn't think the food was as good as it used to be. The chicken was a little rough our Thai iced teas were very good But I wish I would've ordered differently, especially since my brother is in accustomed to Thai food and I am not sure he's super loved it

I've been here a few times and every visit it's fantastic & consistent. The staff is super nice and welcoming. The menu has a great variety and everything is so good-- it can make ordering a challenge just because you want a little bit of everything (I highly recommended going with some friends for this reason). The food is super fresh, made to order and great flavors. This is a go to spot especially on those cold winter days. Highly recommend and will absolutely be back!

This place was in my 'Want to Try' folder and I was in the area so I decided to stop by! Popped in just before dinner time and the place was about half full. Cute decor and lighting, even has a bar for seating and drinks. Ordered the Pad Thai, and unfortunately they don't offer pork so I settled on chicken. Other protein choices were tofu and beef...I'll probably go with tofu next time. They had varying spice levels, mild to very spicy. Medium was a perfect level for me but I still felt like the sauce was a bit too sweet. I'm not sure if this can be adjusted or not. I did like that the server (maybe owner?) offered chopsticks in addition to the fork placed on the table. Overall, the best Thai I've had so far since moving to Denver. Will definitely go again and try other menu items!!

La Mai Thai is a cute Thai restaurant right by sloans lake. I ordered the lunch special- pad Thai with chicken and two chicken dumplings (all for $16!) and a Thai iced tea. The food came out quickly and was extremely delicious (although a bit too saucy for my liking). Service was exceptional and our server Dan attended to all our needs. Overall, we really enjoyed our meal at La Mai Thai and look forward to coming back!

Son tum med hot, Tom kha med hot and lychee frizzy. 4 stars overall.

We got here on a random Sat for dinner and were seated right away. Elegant and chill vibe throughout the moment we walked in. Service was prompt and friendly. Here's everything we ordered: son tum, Tom kha, crispy chicken Khao soi, and la mai pad Thai with beef. Everything was pretty tasty except the turmeric in the Khao soi broth was a bit overwhelming the rest of the dish. Overall, decent place to grab some Thai food for your family.

Massaman with chicken, Roti, jasmine rice ($23)

Today at La Mai Thai kitchen I tried the best massaman curry that I have ever had. It was rich, full of flavor and a large portion. I loved the whole peanuts mixed in to the curry, it made for a great crunch. The Thai iced tea was also the best I've ever had, it was perfectly sweet and full of Thai tea flavor. My mom got the pad thai: it was creamy and flavorful, with the right amount of sweetness. It wasn't too heavy on the peanut flavor. The massaman came with fried roti, which was flaky and delicious with the curry. It was a large portion for $23, which included chicken; beef is extra. We tried the crab cheese wontons, they were light on crab but delectably soft and warm with a tasty sauce. Overall, La Mai Thai kitchen will probably be my new go-to Thai place.

My friends and I came for a quick bite. We shared pad Thai noodles, drunken noodles and egg rolls. What wasn't pictured was the vegetarian curry that my friend ordered. The only feedback was that the curry was too watery for our liking. Besides that, the noodles were very savory and packed with flavors. Our waitress was very attentive and frequently refilled our waters. We had a great time here.

Panang Curry (Gluten Free)

I think la mai Thai is a solid option for Thai in Edgewater! It's not as spicy as other Thai places in Denver/Edgewater but I their portions make up for it!! We usually get the pad see ew and the Panang curry but switched it up this time and got the Thai fried rice. I got the hot option and it really didn't have too much heat to it! Super flavorful though and the portions WILL fill you up!! We order for pick up and walk there and it's always ready in less than 15 minutes it's awesome

Pad See Ew w chicken
Rick K.

Tried La Mai and would give it a Meh for the following reasons. The Pad See Ew had very little flavor. The noodles were good and the chicken sliced thin and prepared well but it was light in color and not a lot of flavor. I assume they went too light on the soy sauces. We also had the boat noodle soup. The flavors were good but the beef was way overcooked and not tender. It also was light on any vegetables and only had bean sprouts and a basil bunch. The chicken wing appetizer was fried perfectly for a good crunch but still moist on the inside. The sauce for the chicken wings was pretty good but not awesome or unique - think sweet Thai chili sauce. The service was very good and we liked both the server and who we think might be the owner came to check on us. The ambiance was nice. Unfortunately the first two tables we sat at were very sticky and we kept moving until we found a clean table. It was a 3 star experience but I give 4 stars because I feel there is potential if they tighten up the areas mentioned.

Thai tea and iced coffee

A cozy Thai food spot right near Sloan Lake. The food was seasoned, well-done and flavorful with an affordable lunch special combo. We ordered the shrimp fried rice and the Pad Thai lunch combo. The side salad it came with was fresh and the dressing was a tasty peanut sauce. The staff was very accommodating when I ordered the Thai coffee and was not a fan. They switch it to a Thai tea and I was very grateful for the grace they gave me. Thank you very much to their team.

The location is on the nice, quiet neighborhood of the Highlands on 32nd Street aside a good amount of other businesses. Street parking is easy on 32nd and the perpendicular residential streets. The food is decent. Keep in mind that they don't use the true Thai spice levels here. It goes from 1 to 7. I ordered a 5 which anywhere else would be very spicy but I barely tasted any spice. The Pad Kee Mao was made very well and I thought it was one of the better ones I've had in Denver. The pad Thai was very bland. Spring rolls were very bland with almost no meat inside. The papaya salad was decent but it mostly just papaya and not much of the other ingredients. The service was good. She was very attentive and nice. No complaints there. If you are in the neighborhood and want Thai food but don't like spice then Ubon is a decent choice.

The Satay was decent. A little on the dry side but definitely not bad. The Gyoza were great. A note on service, they are not the fastest. When they say 25-30 minutes for a takeout order, expect closer to the 30 minute mark. We made a reservation for 6:45 on Sunday, hoping to enjoy a family dinner, but unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. When we arrived, several tables were still covered with dishes and glassware. Throughout our entire visit, the only employees we saw were one young woman and a man bringing takeout orders to the front. The young woman appeared to be handling nearly everything--seating guests, waiting tables, making drinks, and working behind the bar. We genuinely felt bad for her because she clearly needed help. Our drink order was incomplete, our water was never refilled, and it took about 40 minutes for our food to arrive. Although the dining room wasn't very busy, there was a steady stream of takeout and delivery pickups. At one point, a delivery driver returned because the order he had picked up was incorrect, so it had to be remade. I'm sure that was frustrating for him as well. The other employee seemed focused entirely on bringing takeout orders to the front and repeatedly walked past tables covered with dirty dishes without helping clear them. We ordered the crab rangoons, yellow curry, Thai basil fried rice with chicken, and two orders of pad Thai. The crab rangoons were the highlight of the meal, and the yellow curry was also very good. Unfortunately, the fried rice had almost no flavor, and the pad Thai noodles were mushy and lacked flavor as well. Our bill was also incorrect. By the time we left, it was nearly 8:00 p.m., and the same tables that had been covered with dirty dishes when we arrived were still uncleared. I never enjoy writing a review like this, and I genuinely hope the experience improves. The employee serving us was clearly doing the work of several people and needed more support. Between the long wait, limited service, disappointing food, and billing error, the experience put a damper on our family's evening. We probably won't return, and we're still searching for a great Thai restaurant.

Overall, the experience was fine. Not bad, not memorable. Fine. The highlights were the La Zi Ji (the spicy fried chicken) and the smashed cucumber salad. The chicken was the best thing we ordered. The cucumber salad is delicious, but be warned: it's quite spicy. Don't let the word "cucumber" fool you. The Beijing dumplings had a strong, assertive flavor. I'm still not sure I loved it. My wife got the Chinese borscht stew and her verdict was "it's ok," which was about the level of enthusiasm the whole table settled into. Then there was the char siu. This is supposedly the signature dish. It's been on the menu since the food truck days, and plenty of reviewers call it the best thing here. Mine was dry and badly overcooked. I ate two pieces, gave up halfway through the third, and sent it back. Good char siu should be juicy with a sticky, caramelized edge. This was closer to pork jerky with sauce on it. Given how many people rave about it, I'm willing to believe I caught an off night. But at $25 a plate, the signature dish shouldn't have off nights. One more thing. Hidden at the very bottom of the menu is a 6% "support fee" added to everything, along with a note that it's "not a tip." I can't stand this. If your costs went up, raise your menu prices so people walk in with both eyes open. The owner has framed this fee as a way to keep menu prices approachable. That's the problem. The prices only look approachable because 6% of them is hiding at the bottom of the page. This could have been a solid 4 star meal. The chicken and the cucumber salad prove the kitchen can cook. I may come back to give the char siu another shot, but for now Ginger Pig sits pretty low on my list.
