Tried La Mai on Friday night. We tried the chicken wings, drunken noodles, crispy chicken khoa soi, and spicy basil fried rice. We also had the Thai tea and Thai Coffee - these drinks where not what I was expecting, incredibly sweet- that might be my ignorance and maybe that is what the drink traditionally is like! Chicken Wings - very good and crispy with a sweet chilly dipping sauce Drunk noodles with chicken - chose medium spice which was definitely a good kick. Great standard drunken noodles! Crispy chicken khoa soi - amazing ginger flavor in the broth. Really good dish I've never had before Spicy basil fried rice with beef- very tasty but not super spicy! I think the price was probably a little high for the portion, but overall everything we had was great! Perhaps there's a difference between dine in and delivery? I respect all the 5 star dine in reviews. And I see many of the critical reviews are for delivery. We paid $72 before tipping the driver for one entree and two soups. Ouch. One was a highly mediocre Tom Kha (that consisted of too sweet condensed milk, overcooked chicken breast and a couple delicious cherry tomatoes), one a passable Farang Pad Thai, one a pretty good Tom Yam, and no utensils, napkins, nothing. The BEST Thai in the neighborhood. My friends and I love this spot. It's a new spot in the Sloans area right by the dunkin donuts - there's plenty of parking in this which is a huge perk! The main doors to the restaurant are accessible from the parking lot area. I only say this bc my friend once walked into the kitchen from the back door once, haha. NOW- To the food... my favorite is the Khao soi- which can easily be made gluten free by subbing for rice noodles, no wonton strips, and not the crispy chicken the other one.. I believe most of their menu can be made GF! Also, I love all of their curries, the tom kha soup, drunken noodles... seriously, everything I've tried there has been top-notch. Trust me, being from NYC, I'm usually not impressed in Denver, but this place is up there. My bf is vegetarian and loves their tofu because its crispy and well seasoned! He likes the basil fried rice the most, panang curry, spring rolls, gyoza... we go often and always have such a pleasant experience! Their drinks are also phenomenal. I love Thai tea, Thai coffee (can be made dairy free!), and their new cocktails and the snow white sake - YUM. We stumbled upon this place and so glad we did! It's not super loud inside and the service was friendly, attentive, and not overbearing. On a Saturday night we had no wait. I got the tofu panang curry, mild+, and it was delicious. It was a generous serving with a creamy, spicy flavor. The tofu wasn't over cooked either. My boyfriend got the la mai pad Thai - regular pad Thai but the sauce has lemongrass and some other flavors in it too. He really enjoyed it! I loved the lemongrass addition. I arrived for lunch to find the owner straightening out menus, making sure the flowers were the right angle checking over her seat rangement's. I was greeted by the bartender And the owner they encourage you to sit wherever I like. I order the drunken noodles with chicken, mild spice level as well as the pad Thai chicken spice level with an extra fried egg Togo. also I ordered a Thai tea which was extremely delightful and welcoming on this nice 80° day the bartenders was very nice and helpful. Ugh. I used to LOVE this place, but not sure if they changed management or owners, but the flavor has gone down hill. My boyfriend and I would always get Panang curry, pad Thai and pad see ew. I had to stop getting the panang curry because the texture started to become clumpy and flavorless. And now, I just had pad see ew and there was absolutely no flavor. I'm so disappointed that I'm going to have to look for another Thai place in the area :( hopefully they can get their flavor back. read more

Went with a large group (19) and did mostly family style dining. The food was excellent and generous and the service was on point. Because of the party size, gratuity was included and was very reasonable. I had a fabulous Thai tea cocktail with coconut rum and my brother had Prosecco (his favorite). Stopped in during the middle of the day on a weekday and had a great experience. The place is simply, but beautiful decorated. Our server was so nice and was the only person working, but despite that the service was much faster than a lot of places in the Denver area. I had the Pad Thai w/shrimp which was nicely plated. It was on the sweeter side which isn't usually my thing but it was packed with flavor and spice so I thought it was pretty well balanced. I don't know if they took the feedback from other reviews, but my dish was the perfect spicy level (and I can handle my spice). My partner had the drunken noodle with chicken (mild) and said it was some of the best he's ever had- he was very impressed! The portions were a little small for the price. We ate every bit of ours, but I definitely pushed through the last few bites and was a little too full walking out. So I would say you're not likely to get a second meal out of it, but certainly is enough for one. I'm excited to go back and try more dishes! read more

My new local go to. This place opened just last week so thought I would give it a go for quick take out. I ordered the Pad Thai, delicious but also very clean, not oily, but still very flavourful. When I picked up my food, you could tell the two ladies that I spoke with were greatful that I was giving their restaurant a go, also really pleasant and likeable. Basil Fried Rice was incredible. The veggies are all fresh and the portions are just right. The drunk noodles were just as good.m as anywhere I've had. The steak was so juicy and tender. I thought they were a little light on the noodles the first time, but I think enough feedback made them change it. The veggies and meat portions have always been satisfactory. Wanted to try a new Thai restaurant and wow! Danny was an absolutely awesome server! So friendly, helpful, and attentive. Very knowledgable about the menu. Made jokes and was an all around great waiter. We got the panang curry and the pumpkin curry and then shared. Both were soo delicious!!! Truly very tasty Thai food!
