Firstly, I'm not one to write negative reviews for any business and in fact this is my first time doing it. That is how strongly I feel you should not dine at this TGIF location near the Mall of America. The part that stood out the most was the food quality. I ordered the chicken bites appetizer. They were so smothered in bbq sauce I felt like I was eating mouthfuls of sugar, had to chase it with my Mac and cheese side that tasted like jarred sauce with raw flour. My biggest complaint was we had tried to use a coupon for a free appetizer but because no one at the table ordered an entree we couldn't use the coupon. This was our fault for not reading it correctly, but when the mistake was explained to us we took the burden and no complimentary money was taken off the check which is very customary for almost all restaurants. If a mistake was made and a customer isn't satisfied a small compensation is given. The manager just put the blame on us and walked away. The appetizer we paid full price for was the potato skins which were 6 mini half size potatoes that weren't worth the whole price to begin with. I understand the restaurant industry is a challenging place to work but this was a pathetic experience. read more

The server was very friendly and sweet! Have no issue with our service! However, the food absolutely was awful. I'm not a picky eater and have had my fair share of lame meals, but this restaurant made its dishes practically inedible. The fish and chips was somehow undercooked and overcooked at the same time. Couldn't even eat it because it would crumble to pieces. The pasta I had was watered down and quite frankly, had a taste that resembled vomit. The chicken in the dish was very dry, flavorless, and had a gritty texture. I physically could not eat this dish without gagging. The aloha rice bowl was very good though! The lemonade was super yummy, but tasted like alcohol. Would not recommend for children. Was interested they had different portion sizes, which was new usually got 6 and that was quite a bit so, I ordered 4 instead. We'll to my disappointment the usually large chicken fingered are now the size of fingers. To top it off they have changed their honey mustard sauce as well. Soooo disappointed. Had been looking forward to the old chicken and honey mustard. My husband got a bacon cheeseburger he said it was ok. I was very bummed because I had been looked forward to the meal. Went here for my Birthday celebration dinner with a dear friend! My favorite part about dinner with the time with my friend. I haven't eaten at TGIFridays in AGES! I felt like I went back in time. As sad as it is to say this...the days of this place have come to an end. They need to just close out this chapter and retire. The food quality was very so so. Not that the chef did anything wrong. Everything g was cooked well. But it just felt so blah...It made me realize how far behind they are in keeping up with the competition and menu items. They are stuck in the past as well. We have been here twice in the last couple nights as we are from out of town and staying at the hotel that is right next to the restaurant. The food has been excellent both times and the servers have been fast and friendly! We had Keith as our server tonight and he was awesome! Went there for happy hour, which the website said was from 5 until 8 PM. However, the bartender said it was only 3 to 6. No matter. I was there before 6 o'clock, so still had access to the happy hour specials. I ordered a glass of wine and the potstickers. What came out were the potato skins. When I asked the server if these were in fact the potstickers, she said, "No,, do you still want them?" Well, yes, that's what I ordered. A good restaurant would have taken the wrong order away immediately, and without question. I ended up, finishing the potato skins, which wasn't bad, but small, and then wrapping up my visit. There was a large table. I would appear to be a company function. They weren't especially rowdy, but they were getting a little loud in the atmosphere was not really what I was looking for. Couple that with the missteps on the order and the fact that a couple of happy hour dishes had been crossed off the menu with a Sharpie, I decided it was just not the atmosphere I was looking for. This is the first time I've ever been to a TGI Fridays in my life. I wanted to check it out since it was connected to my hotel and I enjoyed my time here, it's a big restaurant with many of the patrons crowding the bar table. Their drink options are fair and even had non alcoholic options and great signiture drinks. Their burgers, especially their fries were outstanding. The staff at least has fun and enjoys their job with really quick response time. My negatives about this place is that, the food can take a while to make but the presentation is great. Prices are really high, bathrooms aren't the cleanest. The patrons are really friendly as well. read more

We were there waiting to order food for 15 more minutes. In total, the fiasco was 1 1/2 hours of my life lost. We watched as other patrons received similar treatment. The buzz on the internet is that the TGIFridays franchise is struggling. The restaurant closest to me is closed permanently, necessitating a half-hour drive to use a gift card. if this burger meal is any indication, it's easy to see why they might be going under water like a cargo-carrying colander. No problem getting seated. Happy Hour only was good in the bar...have no idea what that's all about. Maybe this is a subtle way of telling customers, "We care more about making money off of you than we care about you." A look over the menu sent the same message. Compared their competitors (think Applebees, Chili's and the like), Fridays is significantly more expensive, and worse, there are no specials. Even most burgers are pushing $20. I ordered a simple cheeseburger and a Diet Coke. I asked specifically that the fries be fresh (I always ask for this, from hard-earned experience). The Diet Coked tasted more like Dr. Pepper than Coke. Ugh. The burger came after a longer wait than I would have expected, given that the restaurant was pretty empty. Maybe that explains why both the burger and fries were warm, but not hot. Probably sat on the shelf after cooking, which would explain both the lascivious of both speed and temperature. The cheese was hardly melted, although the meat patty was cooked. My mistake was to shrug my shoulders and start eating...my server came by after a long delay to check on my order...he arrived when I was about to take my last bite! No stopping to see if I needed a refill on my Diet Dr. Coke-Pepper. My bad,I know...I should have spoken up immediately, which is what the manager suggested (instead of offering any reduction on the bill) when I told him (in very polite terms) about my meal's several shortcomings. This matched perfectly the issue I mentioned in paragraphs 2 and 3, which showed a disturbing disconnect between value/customer service and making more money. The manager did offer me a refill to go, which tasted worse than the one on my table... I dumped it out at the first stoplight on the way home. Server was fine, got the order right, but it can't be that tough to produce a cheeseburger and fries, and have it hit the diner's table hot. Or stop by within the first 20-some minutes to see if the meal is acceptable. Since my gift card is used up, and TGIFridays are closing left and right, I obviously won't be back to this, or any other Fridays in the future. read more

Price for food is fair. We ordered a chicken sandwich, a hamburger, and the Cajun chicken and shrimp pasta. The appetizer sampler was a bit disappointing. Wings on the sampler were super small. The service was not good either. When ordering all our food they brought our appetizer with our entrees which made the meal less enjoyable. It's been years since I've been here.... I'd say at least 5 years. My bestie and I were looking for some late night food and decided we'd give here a try. Arrived around 8:40pm Monday evening. Walked in, no staff at the hostess stand, however, we waited patiently for assistance. About 5 minutes later a guy by the name of Mike greeted us and sat us in a booth. He brought us waters and gave us a few minutes to look at the menu. When he returned, he took our order. While we were awaiting for our food, he returned to ask if we needed more water. I said yes, my bestie said no thank you. Mike's response to my bestie was "I wasn't asking you anyway" and he laughed. We were both taken back by his response (couldn't believe he said that). We know he was trying to be funny, but not the type of humor we appreciated as it was rude vs funny. Food was okay. Mozzarella sticks had quite a bit of Parmesan cheese on them (scraped some off) and the inside was cold. Personally, I was not a fan of the marinara sauce. Whiskey glazed boneless wings were crispy on the outside. I think they could have used more sauce. I was disappointed to see 12 wings were the smallest size you could order. I believe they call it the starter wings. I tried some of my bestie's fries and those were very good. Served hot and seasoned well. Overall, food was nothing to write home about. Restaurant is a little outdated and dark except over the tables, the light is shinning directly in your face (you may wanna bring your sunglasses). I don't see myself returning. I've came here for the past few years and never really had a bad experience. The service and food has gone DOWN. My food had 0 flavor and I left over half the plate. Our server didn't bring us any silverware or napkins. She didn't check on us one single time either. This location is where my now wife and spend every anniversary as it is the place we went to enjoy drinks at the bar after our first dinner date. So, this location is rather special. So, now to the review portion. We continue to frequent this location l, typically it's at night (after 6pm) and it is a fun place to be. Their 2 main bartenders are awesome and so much fun to be around. You can intend to go for maybe an hour but we always find ourselves there past midnight. Food is always good, and everything is reasonably priced. However, we have also been there for the lunch time and it is a different atmosphere which is pretty typical. We did end up waiting longer for our food than when it's busier at night. Maybe due to staffing?? It's still great food but definitely isn't the "fun, hang out for hours" atmosphere that the nights bring to the place. We enjoy visiting, but we'll stick to the party time at TGIs. read more
