Definitely not coming back, did not eat all day and came here with my family and got sick and the waitress was rude. But the food was good.

I wanna love it. I really do. If I was limited to queso and margaritas, it'd be fine. The location is cool since there's a place for the kids to play while we chill. The food just hasn't been great yet. The nachos had a pool of clear liquid in the middle under the chips and toppings which was super unappealing. My husband has complained both visits that his meal has weird cheap tasting beef in it. Maybe we are ordering the wrong things? read more

I come in here fairly often and the food and service never disappoint, today I had Tori as my server and she does an excellent job of being friendly to guest and timely on checking in to see how everything is going. I generally always get the Mexican dinner where the pork tamale is the star of the show, the earthy sauce sauce complements the pork very well while still leaving up to the guests interpretation on what to add with it such as pico, quac or queso. This is the type of place you know is gonna be a 3-star before you even try it. I mean by golly garsh dang the name is "Texican" for heavens sake. I must preface this review by saying - it's not a bad 3-star type of joint. It was just built to be a 3-star by design. If you want a solid 3-star place... you know where to go. Thoughts before going into this place were... A.) "I bet this place is gonna have guys working there who call you bro." B.) "I bet this place is going to be like a fancy Taco Bell. " C.) "I bet this place would be cool to hang out in when COVID is over" D.) ALL THE ABOVE If you guess "D.) ALL THE ABOVE" you're the winner!!! DING DING DING! The guys working there for sure called me "bro", the food was basically glorified Taco Bell, and yes, the place looks like it would be fun to hang out in... once people aren't wearing masks all over the place all cuz of this Coronavirus what have you. The burrito was amateur hour. When I order a burrito I want it big and wrapped nice and tight. So tight that the insides are trying to spill out of the burrito. So tight that they almost need to double wrap the thing in two tortillas to even contain the beast. For $16 I would've expected more awe inspiring. This was not wrapped right and wasn't spilling anywhere. I thought they gave me the burrito off the kids menu on accident. Childish. I've had bigger, better burritos from Chipotle... for $8. By the way I've even had the folks at Chipotle double wrap that puppy in a second tortilla a time or two because that's how I like to party. Note: It was odd that my chicken burrito had two shrimps in the middle of it too from Texican. I'm a huge fan of shrimp, so it was an oddly pleasant surprise, but I would've felt bad for someone if they got that and were allergic to shrimp. Again, this is just a straight forward 3 star type of place. I'd say a 3.4 to be fair. They focus on a good atmosphere, a kitschy name, a decent location, and hip staff. Lots of businesses do this. But to break free from 3-star land you gotta focus on the FOOD. I've given 5-stars to hole in the wall, divey authentic Mexican joints... BECAUSE THEIR FOOD WAS DAMN GOOD. This wasn't terrible but I wouldn't go to Texican again for the food. Might go in there to get wasted and call everyone "bro". Feel free to try the food and let me know how right I am. Wow delicious!! Worth the wait however, make sure the staff in the front taking names aren't rude. They laugh when people get anxious after waiting 30 mins being told 15 mins. I was very sad they did that to an elderly couple. Kindness is free but will cost you everything if you don't show it. read more

Dropped in to Texican and yes, I am a fan. Especially of their specials: Monday: Tacos, Tuesday: Enchiladas and Wednesday: Fajitas. They are reopening their dining room. (Others, like them have postedponed due to the Virus hoax... offering pickup only after being closed.) I was happy to eat their good food. Not happy that they were not yet offering their specials/prices. So... my 2 cents: Basic economics... reopen, offer the specials to bring your customers back in and make a bundle before other "cautious" restaurants get wise too! read more

We usually order our take out Tex-Mex from the local Casa Garcias and have become resigned to incomplete orders, soggy tacos, etc. we decided to give the Texican a shot despite it being a bit more expensive. It was well worth the extra cost and we will be back! Food was great, packed perfectly, separated, tin trays, generous portions, etc. and the togo margaritas weren't bad either. Wish we had not assumed all Tex-Mex was the same and continued to subject ourselves to the other place all this time to save a few bucks. read more

I understand that prices have gone up across the board everywhere so i know I'm paying more to eat out now but my kids eat cheese quesadillas and it's the same price for cheese as it is for a meat. That's not even the problem though. The size of the portion for what they charge you is ridiculous. We can't order from here if our kids want food because I have to order them an extra order if they want to be full and at that price no thanks. At least fill it up with cheese if I'm spending over $17 for one tortilla with some cheese. read more

Being from El Paso although it claims to be El Paso American food it's not, but it is Excellent TexMex. Food. Been going to the Manchaca location for years and love their chips and salsa or queso compuesto with a house Margarita. Recently have discovered their new Kyle location and nothing has changed. Was very pleased to enjoy the same recipe's and taste. Overall very good. I've tried or had just about everything even their fish tacos. Loved their flautas. read more

We've been coming here since we moved to Kyle and the food has always been great. Entrées to dessert, everything is a hit. The service wasn't as I expected this time though, I asked if I can have a candle on a dessert I ordered to celebrate my mom's birthday. Our server literally had an unlit candle on the dessert, dropped the plate in front of my mom and left. When she returned to ask if we need anything else, we then asked for a lighter - she gave it. I was hoping it would be like the other birthdays we witnessed at this place where a few team members would be singing with us. I ended up singing happy birthday by myself to celebrate my mother. First time here at the Kyle location .Friday night wait of "not too long" What does that even mean? Turned out to be about 15 minutes for us. Our wait included manager asking twice if he could bring us drinks from the bar. Our waitress was pleasant and just right attentive. As usual the chips were warm and difficult to STOP eating. Only giving a 1 star review because you can't give a zero! Let me preface that statement with the fact that I've never given less than 3 stars. Went in on a Friday at 7pm, got our pager and commenced to waiting. 20-30 mins no problem. After 30 minutes and noticing 4 tables being sat that came in after us we went to the hostess. She claimed to have been paging us (sitting 20ft away)but it never went off. Took our name down again (party of 2) and gave us no pager. After constantly look at us for another 20 mins (50 total) we walked past the hostess station with no trying to stop us to fix the situation and we walked the f out. ZERO STARS!!! read more

The quality of food is pretty good considering what is available in Kyle. But the staff is inconsistent as hell and aren't always pleasant. I'm not fond of the poor treatment I received as a person of color. Furthermore, portions of food are all over the place and I assume that is because of the inconsistent staff. Again, the food is good. But I don't think it makes up for everything else that is wrong. read more

Was excited to see a Mexican restaurant I hadn't tried before when I went to a neighboring business, so I ordered lunch to go. Got the steak TAMPIQUENA, as it is a favorite dish at other Mexican restaurants and thought I'd try theirs out. When I arrived for pickup, my food and drink were on the front side counter by the register but no one was at the host counter. I looked to check in with a host or server to pick it up. It was not busy and I made eye contact with no less than four employees who very clearly looked directly at me and then continued what they were doing, but never came over after or asked anyone else to. After being there for quite a while, I held the door open for a large group that came behind me. I waited longer. And longer. And finally just took my order off their side counter and left. If only that was where the bad review ended... The "well done" steak was RAW up to the edges, which were a pale brown grey, barely flipped on heat at all. The guacamole and pico were completely missing from the order. The coke was light colored and did not taste right at all. Overall, this was as disappointing as it can get. Bummed my lunch sucked, even more bummed it was so expensive and didn't even come with all that the menu said it came with. An absolute joke compared to local Mexican restaurants. Food was severely overpriced especially considering the serving sizes, and the lack of service. Fajitas for two here are fajitas for one anywhere else. Rice and beans were super bland. Our server came by our table a total of two times. No refills on drinks or chips and salsa. This location has only been open a couple of weeks but WOW! Welcome to Kyle. Been here twice since they opened. First time, I got the HUGE Texican Nachos. I only got through half of it. Was absolutely delicious! Then, went with a friend on Monday for Dollar Taco Night. Fast and friendly server, Victoria and fun flight of margaritas. Tacos were dreamy.
