I've been a regular for awhile now at the Manchaca location. With the addition of the new Kyle location, we decided to try them out the other night. We were not disappointed. The meal was exactly the same but the atmosphere of being in a brand new restaurant really helped sell it for us. Tucked away in the back corner (more or less) of this small business park, the location cannot be easily seen from the road. But it's well worth finding it! Everything just works ... the welcoming exterior, the spacious entry and waiting area, the nice bar area with TVs, the main dining room area, the patio, and finally the play area (of sorts) for kids. It all just works. Have they had some issues getting going after opening? Yes. Are they possibly still short staffed at times and trying to get a good crew of servers in place? Yes. Will they just get better every day. Yes. We ended up having Natalie as our server and subsequently had a fantastic experience. She's just the type of server any restaurant wants on staff. We also ended up chatting with GM Eric Benton for quite awhile. I can see why he's in charge. He's a very personable guy but he'll also do what needs to be done for the location to be successful. I was greeted immediately at 5he door by 3 associates. I advised them that I would be sitting at the bar. My bartender greeted me and introduced himself. He took my drink order and it only took a moment to get my drink and a menu. I ordered enchiladas. They were pretty good, but I prefer regular red enchilada sauce. I know to ask for that next time. A CDC second bartender stopped by to check on me at least twice. The place was extremely clean, and the bar wad organized with friendly service, to boot. I will be adding this spot to my regular haunts close to home. A bit pricey for Mexican food, but I was happy to pay for it because of the great service. read more

Very very good Tex Mex. Never go there and walk away underwhelmed. Servers are all friendly and the environment is enjoyable.

We've been here twice now and each time the food was outstanding. The interior has a lot of cool-looking features they did such a good job with that. Sour cream sauce enchiladas are very good, I've had the pork chop (good) and the burrito especial (very good). The queso is awesome as well. The charro beans here are the best I've had at a restaurant. You can taste the pork in the broth n beans and perfectly seasoned. They were absolutely delicious. We had flan for dessert and that too was good. I've been to the South Lamar location a few times and that place is just ok. This location just feels like a higher quality experience between the interior of the place and the higher quality food that comes out of the kitchen. The staff were very sweet and very efficient. I also love that it doesn't take forever to get a cold beer here even on a busy Saturday night. Can't wait to come back! read more

I usually order food from the location down in Austin thats located on S.Lamar and Ive always ordered their fried ice cream to go and never have had an issue. This location in Kyle said they couldn't add that to my order because they couldn't make it to go? very disappointing. Why is it that another location can but this location can't? Specially during this pandemic you should want to give customers that option to order it to go. So if inetrested in ordering fried ice cream to go this location won't do it but the one on S.Lamar in Austin TX will. Just a heads up. read more

This place was popular at 8pm in a Friday. Grabbed a margarita at the bar and then waited outside to be seated. When we were sat our server was incredibly friendly, fast, and efficient. We both got enchilada plates. Mine was the chicken green Chile enchilada and my boyfriend got the fajita chicken red sauce enchilada. Both were delicious! The queso with the meat and quac were yummy too. The reason for the four stars was the margaritas weren't the best, a bit too sweet for my taste. read more

A local Austin favorite has come to Kyle! & this location is just as great and consistent as their Austin locations! They have great food and drinks specials almost every day of the week - 99 cent tacos on Monday, $5 off enchilada plates on Tuesday, Fajitas for 2 for $18.99 on Wednesday and Two Can Dine for $19.99 on Thursday. & they have unique brunch items like carne guisada migas - yum!!! American Mexican food at its worst. Tortillas for fajitas were clearly store bought and not even good quality store bought. The crunchy tacos were basically old El Paso. First of all, no restaurant ever gets five stars from me regardless of how good they are. Now then, I stopped in after a medical appointment for some lunch. It was pretty empty at 11:30, but it took a while for someone to greet me and show me to a table. Things improved after that, however, and the food and service were good. It's rarely on my way anywhere so it won't be a regular stop, but I recommend it if you're in the area and want good Mexican food. It's better than their Manchaca location. read more

Really pretty restaurant and attentive servers. The salsa and the chips are awesome and addictive. The queso was yummy with just the right amount of heat. Table had chicken sour cream, chili rellanos, cheese enchiladas and spinach enchiladas. The plates were presented looking fantastic and everyone has great things to say about the yummy food. Lost a star for the horrible weak limeade tasting margaritas. We requested a floater to improve the flavor but it they would need more than that to improve the flavor. read more

If you like mediocre Mexican food and overly-sweet Mexican Martinis/Margaritas, this is the place to go! Added bonus is that the wait staff really sucks. I had to go to the bar to get a glass of water that I had asked for 45 minutes prior and we waited 30 minutes after asking for more hot sauce. After getting a Mexican Martini that would throw you into a diabetic coma, I asked for a classic margarita with just lime juice, tequila, and Cointreau. It tasted like they used reconstituted lime juice from the fake plastic limes in the grocery store and I don't think their was ANY Cointreau in the drink at all it was so sour. They also tried to overcharge us on the bill. I love the food, service, and drinks at the South Austin location, but this one sucked. Will NEVER go back. read more

Fantastic food, decent pricing, good service, minimal wait times. So far we haven't really had any complaints with the Texican. If anything, the only downside is that if you don't know where it is, it can be tricky to find, but that doesn't detract from anything. The queso is great, especially the Queso Maya. Great weekday specials! I'm a huge fan of enchiladas specials and fajita specials! Mexican martinis are solid and refreshing. Wait staff is consistently kind and helpful. since they've renovated the floors and tables, it feels more open and clean and inviting. Old carpet was gross and the air was stagnant and suffocating inside! So happy for the interior changes and even happier that the food quality hasn't changed or been compromised in the process. read more

Disappointed in this location. I get it, it's still new, but the salsa wasn't as good as their other locations, service was extremely slow, my shrimp flautas consisted of rubbery shrimp, and the bean and cheese nachos were less than stellar. This place is soooo good, I've been goin since they opened about once a month and each time seems better than the last. I go usually with my mom and fiancé and we always get something different and it's all been amazing. I've eaten at all 4of there restaurants and this one is hands down the best. My last visit I had the pleasure of speaking with one of there managers Eric as he dropped in to see if everything was perfect and I can tell that him and his staff are doing some really special things there. My new favorite Texmex joint!!!! The chips and salsa are to die for. I just can't stop myself from devouring them anytime I stop by & I always ask for some Togo. They really know how to make a top shelf margarita and I'm so thankful they give me the option to choose my top shelf tequila! Woohooo!!
