My original roof lasted 22 years without the "modern ventilation". Tx Traditions reroofed my house 5 years ago and cut a 3 inch slit along the peak of the roof all along the top of the roof and put a shingle cap along the cut. I recently I spent $1600 to get rid of squirrels in my attic and to close up their so called modern roofing ventilation screens. Their modern ventilation also allows leaf particles to enter attic. DO NOT allow them to give you the "modern ventilation". And make sure they place screens on the vent pipes to keep out varmints. read more

I called Michael to see if they could replace my dryer vent. He says of course and gets Matt out to my house to take a look at it same day. Matt, being the knowledgeable man he is, tells me the vent that was previously installed wasn't meant to be for a dryer vent! He came with a new and proper dryer vent that he took out of the box to show me it's workings and how it would look installed and matched my roofing to the tee when he had to replace some because the previous dryer vent was cut to 6inches and the new one was cut to 4 inches. The evening, after the hail storm had passed, I called the phone number on TTR's website and a real person answered. Later that evening, I received an email from the owner acknowledging my call. The next morning, I received an email with the name of my advisor, and later a call from Wes that he was on his way. He reviewed the damage and sent me an inspection report. Later, Wes met and worked with the claims adjuster to provide me with a contract. The crew was exceptional. After stripping off the old roof, they took time to secure the decking and worked around rain showers. As a result, the roof looks better now than when the house was built. Had a phenomenal experience with TTR recently, Stephen Shuster was a huge help getting us set up with our roof replacement. The roof was original (20+ yrs old) and after the late Dec/ early January storms we had some pretty significant damage that couldn't be repaired. We originally got a self-pay estimate for roof replacement from TX Traditions. A month or so later, a major hailstorm meant that our insurance was going to pay for the roof replacement. We decided to go with TX Traditions based on their good online reviews and interaction with their salesperson. Unfortunately, from that point everything went downhill. Our experience was the opposite of what we had read in the reviews - disappointment and frustration at every step of the process. It would take me pages to describe all the problems we encountered, so I'll just hit the highlights (or lowlights): - once our insurance was involved, the price of our roof replacement went up about $6000 (original estimate didn't include gutters, though - maybe $1500) - the ventilation materials that were delivered were incorrect. They were based on a previous design and they would have been installed, if I hadn't caught it and brought it to their attention. - I never saw the supervisor on site. I didn't even have contact information for him. I had to call our salesperson and have him relay information. - significant damage was done around the house, including ripping several window screens, smashed plants (which crew tried to cover up by tying the plant together with plastic bags), broken porch tiles, and damage to our back deck that required repainting it. We didn't trust TX Traditions to do the repair work, so we did it ourselves and submitted receipts for reimbursement. They balked at paying us for our labor, even though it was much cheaper than them hiring a contractor. - the roof vents were installed incorrectly - the holes they cut were too small. We had to wait for a repair crew to come out and correct it and they didn't even finish the job the first time. I had to follow up and have them sent back out (again, no one following up from TX Traditions) - the exhaust pipe for the water heater (in the attic) got disconnected and we had to wait about 5 days - and only after I called to follow up - to have someone come to fix it (despite it being a safety hazard). They brought the wrong part. Turned out, the vent on the roof needed to be corrected to enable the pipe to be reconnected. - it took about a month and a half to get our gutters installed, although we had been told it would be a week or two. Even then, the gutter job was not completed correctly and they had to come back a 2nd time. There's more but I'm sure you get the picture. Every customer service interaction was a disappointment. We had to continually drive the process, follow up to get things done, and act as the quality control monitor. I believe we could have chosen almost any other local roofing contractor and had a better experience. read more

I was sold on Texas Traditions Roofing during their estimating process, not simply because they're A+ rated with BBB. I contacted Texas Traditions Roofing for an insurance estimate, the last of 3 estimates I was procuring for my mother-in-law to assist her with the process. The first two companies, also A+ rated with BBB, made me believe there was in fact hail damage and a claim would be valid. Unknown to me, an insurance claim had not yet been filed by my mother-in-law. The Texas Traditions estimator, Tyler T., asked precisely the right questions and provided knowledge about the process and what insurance adjusters look for etc. I actually got short with Tyler because he was asking more questions than the 2nd company, however, he did not waver professionally the entire conversation. I simply wanted Tyler to provide a work-of-scope estimate and email it to me as the other two companies had done. The TTR estimator believed that an insurance claim would not be valid due to the good condition of the roof. After all said and done, Tyler raised enough flags in my head to go back to my mother-in-law and determine that a drive-by roofing company put some words in her head and actually provided the 1st estimate and had her believe she could get a new roof.
