Based on recommendations from our neighborhood Facebook group, we called Top Dog Roofing to inspect our roof after the big ice storm in Austin. They found long term hail damages and helped us work with our homeowner insurance to get our whole roof replaced. Top Dog only charged us the amount set by insurance, which is way less than what other companies quoted us. My agent from Top Dog was Vance Blair. He was the nicest guy - friendly, knowledgeable, super attentive and punctual. He was helpful without being pushy. He responded to all my texts and calls within the hour. He guided us step by step while dealing with insurance and in getting approval from the HOA. The Top Dog team replaced my whole roof in one day. The team was fast, efficient, and respectful to us and our property. They did a thorough cleanup after the job. It's been 4 months and the roof holds up great and beautiful. We were very happy with Top Dog Roofing and highly recommend them. Thank you, Vance and the Top Dog team, for a job well done! read more

I paid them off several years ago. Just wanted to be given credit for doing so. Paul McKenzie was the owner. It was called TOP DOG. They said they would change my report and indicate they were paid off completely. I talked with Paul and he seemed like an honest person. But apparently he is not. If you value honesty in the company you work with, DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE. JUST GO TO THE NEXT ROOFING COMPANY. THEY SEEM HONEST BUT ARE NOT. JUST SNAKE OIL SALESMAN. read more

Hands down the best experience for home repair I've had in the 8 years as a homeowner. After putting some feelers out there to help with some roof repairs due to insurance recommendations, Dynamite came in clutch to help with getting our home back in and protected from the crazy spring weather and brutal heat of Texas. Vance and team got us set up with some valuable pricing info and outstanding product knowledge to ensure we were making the best decision to save us in the long run. Contractors were considerate of our home and did a great job as efficiently as possible. Need some impressive roofing experts call on Dynamite to get the task done. read more

Dynamite Roofing did an excellent job replacing our home's roof. Billy Gwin and his crew were absolute professionals. Billy worked with our insurance provider and answered all our detailed questions. Dynamite's bid was competitive. Great people to work with; that made the difference. We have complete confidence that if there are any future issues with our roof (which I doubt will occur because it was done right the first time) that Dynamite will stand behind its work. True professionals. read more

A little over a week ago I reached out to Top Dog Roofing via their website to inquire about a roof inspection and the installation of rain gutters. I received a phone call back and was scheduled an appointment. Jessie Jackson (the roof inspector) who came to my house performed a roof inspection with a video and when he was done showed me the video inspection and notes taken during the inspection. Although I did not require a new roof nor roof repairs, I did get a quote for rain gutters. I had the rain gutters placed in within a week from when I completed the paperwork and placed the work order in. Jessie and the workers who placed the gutters in were professional, prompt and friendly. read more

Had our roof replaced by Top Dog Roofing last year (2020) during the pandemic. They had the job completed same day. My job lead James Beaver led us through the process from start to finish. The result was incredible. They installed attic roof vents, checked the stacks and patched any holes in the plywood that were found. We went with an architectural style roof shingle and the quality is great. The entire financing process takes place via iPads and photos/scans of documents are provided digitally. I was even provided drone images of our roof to review. They helped coordinate with the insurance process as well. I write the review now because.. we have now survived two crazy storms (winter storm 2021 in February and a crazy 70mph wind storm over Memorial day weekend where our neighbor's tree clipped our house) Both times the roof held up perfectly and protected our house. I requested an inspection post storm and James was out to walk around the roof and check it out the next business day after the storm. Would definitely recommend their team. read more

Used Top Dog Roofing for the second time after a massive hail storm at the end of 2023. Being a previous customer, James Beaver reached out and promptly took a look at my roof the following day and helped prioritize fixes and patching before we could work out details of the next roof replacement. The second star of the show was the actual team, which found issues with the angle of pipes and offered to go into the attic and correct some other small issues unrelated to roofing. They completed the full job in a full day. Overall I'm very happy and recommend Top Dog Roofing, end to end the process was a breeze and left my new roof looking immaculate! read more

Everything went well. A year later no leaks. Came back as requested on a warranty visit to check everything after we had a rat in the attic.

Had Top Dog Roofing to come out as several neighbors had severe hail damage. Luckily for me they reported very minor damage and didn't recommend repairs. Came out same day and right on time. Ask for Steve Robinson. read more

I picked this group because they are a local business and during Covid wanted to go local as much as possible. They arrived quickly and assessed my roof. They told me to tell them when my adjuster was coming so they could advocate for me. My estimate was right in line with my insurance payment. They showed up exactly as promised, started and finished in 6 hours, cleaned up my entire property and I am blown away with their professionalism. Very Covid cautious. Wore masks, maintained distance. I can't say enough great things. This is your go-to company for ANY roofing needs!! read more

Had appointment with Top Dog Roofing set up for an estimate for new roof. Estimator was a no show, no phone call. I can only assume not interested in new business. Recommend to look for a company who does what they say if you need roofing service. read more

We put a new roof on to help market our house. Eric Riojas came out to give us an estimate, and did his presentation about materials, warranty, and installation process. The project supervisor Peter came out to get the job started, and a crew leader was on site at all times. The manager Jason even came out to the house to be sure the roof got done on time. Crew worked thru inclement weather, kept the job site clean, and did a great job. Top Dog Roofing (512) 505-8008 also has great prices and worked with us to get project paid out at time of closing! read more

If looking for a reliable and trustworthy roofing company, I suggest Top Dog all the way! We quoted with multiple roofing companies after the 2021 hail storm. They made the process easy and kept us informed every step of the way. We have skylights and experienced some leaking from a strong storm. We contacted Top Dog and they didn't hesitate to come out to look at the issue. While there was an issue with the flashing, they first came out and diagnosed the issue. Taking full responsibility, with no resistance, they first made some temporary fix so to stop the leak. They then came out and fixed it. Completely fine. Additionally, with the leak we did have some minor interior ceiling damage. They had it all repaired. Perfect in fact. So with all this being said, highly recommend Top Dog!! read more

James was our salesman he is extremely knowledgeable and professional. We received the claim information from our insurance company and didn't know what any of it meant. James came over and walked us through everything. The office staff Kayla and Mary were friendly and always available for questions and issues. In order for us to have our mortgage company endorse our insurance check we had to have several documents and Kayla and Mary were great at helping in this process and helping with scheduling. The roofers who came to fix our roof were timely and friendly. They kept us updated on ever step. We are extremely happy with Top Dog Roofing. read more

Top Dog roofing replaced our hail damaged roof and I couldn't be happier. Eric Riojas was there from start to finish. In a world in which customer service is a dying art, Eric is the epitome of customer service. He was especially helpful when I was having issues with the insurance company. Thanks to his efforts and attention to detail, the insurance company came through. The team did a great job replacing the roof and cleaning up afterwards. From the moment I started working with Top Dog, I was kept informed of each and every step and the time involved. Thanks, Eric and Top Dog. read more

Fast response came out for free to inspect my roof and provided tips that someone just wants your money wouldn't.

When though their website to schedule appointment to get an estimate for my roof replacement. After 3 days, I called them directly. They stated they tried to call me and left voice mail and sent me an emailed. I did not have any voice mails on my phone and emails. I even checked my spam folder to confirm no emails. I went ahead and schedule appointment for today, no one showed up and no phone call. Would not recommend this company due to their very poor customer service and follow though. read more

Like so many people on Yelp, I am confessing that I should have written this review a long time ago. My roof was completed last summer and Top Dog did a fabulous job! I first called them because a person I had out for tree trimming mentioned that squirrels were getting in due to a missing tile. They came out and did an inspection and found that there had been hail damage the previous fall. James Beaver did a great job keeping me in the loop and Michelle Emerson is a wizard when it comes to dealing with insurance! My, she put in a lot of work to get the job approved and an appropriate amount allocated for the repair. At the end James and two supervisors came out and walked the roof and made sure everything looked good. I have had leaking around the chimney area in the past so I wanted to be absolutely sure that there would not be an issue there. The roof looks great and it came through the ice storm with flying colors. I think the fire and ice shield really did it's job! read more

Top Dog did a tip-top job on our roof replacement! I cannot say enough about James Beaver and the team. He was so communicative, easy to work with, explained everything, and then viola! everything he said matched what actually occurred. My insurance agency suggested we call Top Dog when we needed to have our roof replaced and I am glad we did. The job was quick, professional and looks excellent. read more

Jason worked with us and got us some numbers to work with. I'm hoping we can use this local company. We started research over a year ago. Down to earth people and I want to take our money local. I hope I get a new Top Dog roof. It will be a beautiful thing. Updates provided as we can. read more

They are very responsive and were upfront to let me know that the area did not receive hailstorm and roof looked new and did not need any detailed inspection. I appreciate the honesty. Totally recommended! read more

Brian Chipman and his team are very professional and we highly recommend. They were patient and flexible with the schedule of the roof installation since we needed to coordinate with the removal of our solar panels. While we were working with the solar company to schedule the solar panel removal Brian got on the roof and installed a temporary tarp to avoid additional damage. During installation, the crew was punctual and finished as scheduled. Also, after installation, they visited our house several times to ensure the work was completed to our satisfaction, and to clean (especially the gutters). read more

These guys did a GREAT job! They worked well with my insurance, answered my calls in prompt fashion, and finished the job as soon as weather permitted! Definitely impressed! read more

I would highly recommend Doug and Chris at Top Dog Roofing! They are knowledgeable, trustworthy, and care deeply about customer service and getting the job done right, which is exactly what I want from someone who is working on my roof. So many roofing companies seem to be giant operations intent on convincing every person in a neighborhood that they need a new roof. Top Dog Roofing is different. I had been impressed with the demeanor and professionalism of one of Top Dog's representatives who was working on a nearby home ages ago and kept the business card I was given. When it came time to have some work done our 15-year-old home, I called Top Dog Roofing. Doug and Chris came out, looked at the roof, and gave me the exact same recommendations an independent inspector had listed on his report. They answered all my questions, gave a great bid on the job, and stayed in regular communication throughout the process. The workers came out soon after, and no evidence of their work (stray nails, shingle bits, etc.) was left in my yard when they were done. When Doug and Chris came to look at the completed work, they were not pleased with the color match of the new shingles. They had it changed immediately and came back again to make sure the work was done to their standards. I appreciated their attention to detail and that they did not consider the job complete until they were satisfied with the work and I was pleased with the result. It is rare these days to find a company that cares so much about their work product and their customers. Top Dog Roofing is that company, and I recommend them without reservation. read more

We recently had our roof replaced by Top Dog Roofing, and are very happy with the results. Our roof had suffered some hail damage, and it became necessary to replace it, along with the roofs of two out-buildings and a gazebo! We had met a couple of reps of Top Dog Roofing at the Austin Home and Garden Show a few years ago. We were impressed with their professionalism and for the fact that they donate a percentage of each job to Austin Pets Alive. We knew we wanted to use them and contacted them for an estimate. Martin arranged for an inspection to assess the damage, and then returned to meet with the insurance adjuster to answer any questions. The "team" arrived promptly on the scheduled date, and in a whirl of activity removed the old roof and replaced it with a brand new one! After they left, there was no evidence they had been here - except for the beautiful new roofs! We were kept apprised of every step throughout the process. From the office staff, to our rep, as well as the entire roofing team, we couldn't have asked for better service. Top Dog Roofing always went above and beyond and we highly recommend them to anyone needing any type of roof repairs / replacement. read more

Top Dog Roofing was, by far, the best roofing company we interviewed and got a quote from for replacing the roof on our house. Jason was honest and up-front from the start, and the installation crew was efficient, clean, and thorough. The majority of the work was completed in one day, and the clean-up was impeccable. The finished roof looks great and I am completely satisfied with the work. I would highly recommend Jason and Top Dog Roofing. read more

I used Top Dog Roofing last year to replace my roof after a bad hail storm. I really cannot say enough great things about the company, in particular how they communicate. My project manager (James) was consistently on top of every single little detail. He was always just a phone call away and went above and beyond to make sure that everything was taken care, including all the back-and-forth with my insurance company. They are not pushy trying to sell you anything, and genuinely make you feel like they just want to give you the best service/solution for your needs. They have completely earned my trust and I highly recommend!! read more

A week or so ago, I provided Top Dog with a one star rating for a lack of communication in returning a couple of phone calls. Today I am giving Top Dog a 5 star rating ... the company got back to me right away acknowledging their difficulty in handling the volume of calls as a result of the recent hail storm, promptly scheduled a visit to inspect the roof, received a text confirming their arrival today, was on time, and thoroughly and patiently answered all questions following the inspection. I am moving forward with Top Dog and will post again following the completion of the project. read more

Top Dog is Top notch. We met Hunter in the beginning of the process and he was outstanding throughout. He is very knowledgeable, articulate, thorough, and detailed in his explanations and answered every question without hesitation with correct information. He took all the guesswork out of everything and worked with the adjusters so we did not have to lift a finger or talk to anyone but him. On top of that Hunter is just a nice cool dude with very interesting hobbies and a great personality who I will be friends with moving forward. He is one of those guys that puts you at ease when you are talking to him and you can tell he is a perfectionist in everything he does. Now on to the crew....great, efficient, fast, thorough, and clean...enough said! I highly recommend Top Dog for any roofing needs! Drop the mic!!!!!!!!!!! read more

I found Top Dog Roofing on Yelp after noticing that water was dripping from the ceiling of the master bathroom. Jessie did an initial inspection and suggested that the problem may be the skylight in the bathroom or a leak near the chimney. After another more thorough check the next day, he said that his initial assessment had been wrong and the problem was a leaky AC duct. So there was no work for him and the inspection was free. I have to commend them for their honesty. read more

Great experience. They answered my inquiry right away (can't remember if I called or filled out their online form!) and were able to come by the next business day - to remove an old satellite dish. Not a sexy job for them I'm sure. Hunter was on time, friendly, answered some questions about my roof, and offered some good advice. When I need roof repair or a new roof, I'll definitely choose Top Dog. read more

These guys stayed on the phone with me for nearly an hour to explain many things about roofing and their products that I was unaware of. While I did not eventually choose these guys when deciding to get a roof, I was very impressed with how courteous they were, knowledgeable and friendly. Sometimes those things are more important than the roof itself. I would also recommend going with them first, particularly if your homeowner's is footing some of the bill because their crew is fully employed and is not contracted, so +1 to that. In my case my roof was going to be out of pocket, but the slightly higher price is worth it I think to make sure good Texans get good jobs. =) read more

I had two roofing companies come out and give me quotes on some work. I was so frustrated when both gave me completely opposite opinions. I had Top Dog come out, and Hunter was so informative. His crew was amazing. I definitely recommend them to others and will use them again- hopefully not for another 15-20 years :) read more

Top dog roofing is awesome! Met them at the austin home show. They came out and inspected my roof - told me the roof looked good and should last another 5 yrs. Wow, what could have been a horrible experience getting our roof replaced turned out to be a very pleasant one. Doug Bishop and Christopher Bishop did a top notch job taking care of our every needs and addressed all our concerns beforehand. I'm a little late posting my review of Top Dog, but I need to tell you I could not be more pleased with how easy this whole process was. I contacted Jason in late December (we already had our Christmas lights hung). He came out same day to walk my roof (took lots of pictures) and give me a quote. A few days later, Jason met our insurance adjuster at the house to assess the damage together. Within a few days we had the paperwork written up, the materials picked out to use, and the date to start the job. They were nice enough to wait until after the holiday to come back and do the job after family was gone and lights were down, which I thought was nice. No pressure to lock us in and get the job on the books before the end of the year. Materials were delivered one day, the job was done the next day. The installation crew was very efficient and clean up was kind of unreal. I was worried about finding nails and debris in the yard because I have kids and pets but they did a fabulous job leaving virtually no trace of their work. Since our roof was 17 years old, it's nice to have new energy efficient materials I didn't realize existed protecting our house! Our roof looks great and we would highly recommend contacting Jason at Top Dog for your project. read more
