Display case where you can choose your steak!
    Amy A.

This was my first visit to Texas Roadhouse (gotten takeout in the past), and it was a really good experience. The restaurant was busy and had that fun, high-energy atmosphere they're known for. It's a bit loud so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to noise. The warm rolls with cinnamon butter absolutely lived up to the hype, soft, fresh, and hard to stop eating. There is a meat display case in the front and you can choose your steak if you wanted but our steak wasn't shown. I ordered a steak cooked medium rare and it came out close to as requested. The portions for apps and sides were generous, and everything tasted good and well-seasoned. It was my birthday, and I had a coupon for a free appetizer, which was a nice bonus and easy to redeem. There were a few stretches where our waitress was clearly juggling several tables, so we waited a bit at times. That said, it never became a real issue, and she remained friendly and helpful throughout the night, checking on us multiple times. A couple small observations: peanuts weren't already on the table so we had to ask for them. We didn't see any of the staff line dancing that some people talk about. Also, since it was my birthday, I appreciated that when I opted out of the big birthday spotlight moment, they completely respected that without making it weird. It was a great first experience with good food, good service, and fun atmosphere for a birthday. I'd definitely go back!

Today was probabley one of the worst experiences we have had at this location regarding customer service and food. We are a family of four and ordered. A filet dinner. When it came out it wasn't a filet. We order from here all the time and can tell between a filet cut and ribeye - sirloin etc. Our waiter disappeared for a while. There were three staffer standing along the wall adjacent to our table so we got up and asked for our server . All three continued to stand there and said "No English" so we went to the main counter and asked for a manager and told them the issue. She just looked at us in confusion . A manager never came but the server did about 5 minutes later. Three others at the table already had finished their entire meal at this point . Tell the server the issue and he says it's a filet - comes back with a plate and just takes the filet to get another. At this point my accompaniments are cold since I like to eat as a meal and 2 of the four in our party had to leave due to time . A replacement filet came out and I had to rush to eat it with my cold potato's and vegetables . I honestly think after years of coming here that this was the worst.

I didn't physically eat in the restaurant, but I utilized the To Go window on a busy Monday. I have seen on the Internet that they have decent family meals, so decided to give it a go! I ordered the barbecue chicken breasts, house salad, green beans, and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. The order automatically came either with their famous bread and cinnamon butter. One of my best guy friends said to have his memorial dinner there someday so everybody can be happy instead of sad eating their bread and now I fully understand his sentiment. I also added an order of fried pickles, half a gallon of lemonade, and half a gallon of what was supposed to be unsweet tea. (I got sweet instead ) The portions were enough so no one left hungry, but we only had some chicken and bread/butter left after dinner. The chicken was flavorful, not dry, and their sauce was good for me! (I'm usually picky about barbecue sauce and maple syrup) The green beans were delicious. The salad was a great mixture with their crunchy croutons and shredded cheese. The cheese was enough for flavor, but not too much where I didn't feel like I wasn't eating vegetables anymore, haha. The pickles had a great breading to pickle ratio and the horseradish dipping sauce was so flavorful! The lemonade was fresh tasting, with not too much pulp or sweetness. I look forward to tasting their other options--perhaps the chicken tenders next time? Definitely a good value in the family meal!

The food was exceptional--particularly the grilled pork chops, which were heavenly --and my wife's filet was cooked to perfection. We live in Skokie but traveled all the way to Mount Pleasant specifically to experience Texas Roadhouse. It was absolutely worth the thirty-minute drive. The place was lively, with a forty-five-minute wait that proved worthwhile. The service was outstanding; Gabi, our server, was terrific. The ambience, featuring country music and servers celebrating birthdays at nearby tables, created a welcoming atmosphere. We've officially found our new favorite steakhouse--Longhorn has been replaced.

No, this isn't a top steakhouse. It's a simple family restaurant which features steaks among other things. They have a large menu with lots of choices. It's a fairly large space so it can be noisy. There were three of us. We had the petite fillet, a rib eye, and grilled shrimp. Everything was good. We each had steak fries. I also had a sweet potato, which was quite good. The service was outstanding. Our server was present, listened to our special requests and ensured the instructions were followed. And the manager stopped by to check on us during our meal. So, not fancy but a good place to get a steak without breaking the bank.

Biscuits and the sweet butter. So good.

A little bit of a wait but you get free peanuts. Had the ribeye steak it was very good, cooked the way I like it. Salad on the side and steak fries. The rest of my party also enjoyed theirs. I was expecting a bigger bill so I was happy with it. Fun place too:

Food is good! Not our first visit to this location. Drinks here are great and obviously we come for the steaks. Service is always quick but during the holiday rush during dinner time it was a bit hectic. Great space for groups and we've never had any issues with being seated. It's our group go-to.

I mean, come on, where do I start? Roadhouse has it going man. I have been here many times for many different occasions and they don't ever miss. A solid dinner place any night of the week. I was here most recently back in December for a family meal just cause we were on holiday break. The online waitlist thing they have is really neat, as it allows us to plan things out a bit more smoothly. Sometimes its a little longer than they tell us but never anything terrible. It beats standing inside a packed waiting area for sure. It is always busy when we go, and they seem to do well managing the crowds. The wait staff is usually friendly and very helpful and do a great job making the experience worthwhile. The rolls they serve are incredible. They're fresh and baked to perfection. I always go for their grilled BBQ chicken, with french fries and the side caesar salad. The chicken is done nicely, and you best believe the sauce is smothered on that thang! The fries are superb and stand out with excellent quality. The salad is no joke either , and lowkey is my favorite place to order it. Solid crisp and dressing flavors are epic! Hands down one of my favorite dinner spots, and I super glad there's a location here. I eagerly anticipate my next visit!

    Bone in ribeye!
    Zain P.

I've always had a solid experience at Texas Roadhouse. It's a great spot if you're craving a good steak without going to a super expensive steakhouse. The ribeye is the best item on the menu in my opinion. It's flavorful, cooked well, and definitely satisfies if you're in the mood for a hearty steak dinner. I'd say the steak quality is comparable to LongHorn Steakhouse in terms of steakhouse tiers. One of the best parts of the meal is the free buns they bring to the table with their cinnamon butter, which are honestly amazing and hard to stop eating. The restaurants usually have plenty of parking, but wait times can get pretty long when it's busy, especially during dinner hours. The ambiance is lively. It is ALWAYS BUSY!!!

It took me so long to finally try Texas Roadhouse. It was pretty solid and met my expectations of how the food would taste. We came on a Tuesday night and it was so packed!! My friend took a video of me and my fiancé trying their famous bread and cinnamon butter for the first time haha btw they were delicious! Accidentally ate too many before my entree and got full but I'm sure everyone does that here. I went big and got the 20oz bone-in ribeye. Asked for medium and it came out perfectly. The meat was pretty fatty but it didn't bother me. The corn and mashed potatoes were decent but nothing crazy. I definitely had leftovers to take home. Our server was super nice! She gave all 3 of us a personal box of bread and cinnamon butter to take home!

Came by for Dinner on a rainy day and it was pretty busy but we still got seated right away. The waiter was nice and made sure we had some bread when we were out. The butter with the bread is delicious and you also get a free bag of peanuts! I got the 8oz Steak with Shrimp and it also comes with 2 sides with good options too choose from. They also have a bar area with TVs for watching sports. It is family friendly here which they also have a horse settle you can sit on if it's your birthday! I got Medium steak and it was cooked just right! Also had the fried pickles as appetizer and didn't have to wait to long for them.

We looked at the menu and decided while we wait we would go grab a drink at the bar. There were no open chairs at the bar and people were standing around the area as well so my girlfriend walked over to the side of the bar to order drinks near the spot where servers will pick up drinks at the bar counter. My gf was not in the way or anything and the bartender points at her in disgust and says "you cannot stand there you need to move". Not one moment of this did he look friendly or happy to serve a customer. My gf stood there for another 5 minutes, neither of the 2 bartenders acknowledged her, or said they would be right with her, they even took an empty glass of a customer at the bar and asked them if they wanted another. Both my gf and I have held jobs involving customer service. I have worked in restaurants for many years of my life when I was a younger adult. We are reasonable and patient people. The Prospect claims to be classy and fine dining, which I will say, the ambiance is wonderful, but your customer service sucks. I'm a big believer in "you get what you pay for" and this does not match. I hope you treat other customers with more care in the future.

Our starter was a shrimp cocktail- always hits the spot. While not "quite" as jumbo or crisp as I'd like, it was fresh and tasty. I ordered the artichoke, potato, and leek soup- loved it! Hubby ordered their signature pork chop and oh my god- that thing was huge! No joke- it was humongous! The taste was mildly reminiscent of a Honeybaked Ham, but it was OH so tender and juicy! I had a koji-aged filet mignon, cooked perfectly at a medium- and I was amazed with the flavor- absolutely spot on! I'd ordered it Oscar Style (lump crab and asparagus) but on the side. We ordered a Caesar Salad to share. They brought the salad along with two individual bowls and serving utensils. They also offered to split it for us. Very nice. First issue was with our waitress. She was nice and pleasant. But had very little knowledge of the menu. Didn't know the sauces or add-ons for the steak. She clearly made her own answers up because when we received the food she corrected herself. My wife asked about a chicken dish and she described it very differently including getting the accompanied sides wrong. I ordered a Delmonico Ribeye and it was cooked great. Unfortunately this steak had so much connective tissue or silver skin (not fat) that I couldn't even cut it with their steak knife. It was inedible. The waitress tried convincing me it was fat and this was good. Finally a manager came over and was five-stars. Apologized and asked if he could please get me something else. Even suggested a dish. I agreed and it was good. Since it was a birthday, our waitress brought us a complimentary dessert. She was clearly annoyed with us. Didn't ask if we wanted coffee, or even an after dinner drink (my frequent diners know I love a good Cognac). This place is worthy another visit, but I can see, for the prices, how this could go either way. And that waitress needs to be properly trained (tested on her knowledge of sauces prepped and sides for all dishes).

We made a reservation because I'd heard this place can get pretty busy. Although it didn't seem too crowded when we first arrived on a Saturday, it filled up quickly throughout our meal. I definitely recommend making a reservation, especially if you're planning to come for dinner. As soon as we walked in, I was struck by how beautiful the restaurant is. Since the building was once a church, they preserved the stained-glass windows and cathedral ceilings, which give the space so much character. We ended up sitting on the patio because it was a gorgeous day, but I definitely want to come back and dine inside so I can fully appreciate the interior. The patio was modern, spacious, and completely shaded, making it very comfortable. Since it's located right next to the little lake, we also enjoyed a nice breeze throughout our meal. Our waitress was friendly and attentive overall, but there was one moment that stood out. My friend's baby accidentally knocked over a full glass of iced coffee, spilling it all over my friend's lap and onto the floor. The waitress watched as my friend cleaned up the mess herself but didn't offer to help or replace the spilled drink. Aside from that, the service was good. My friends and I all ordered something different, and everyone enjoyed their meals. I had the salmon poke bowl ($19), which was fresh, flavorful, and incredibly refreshing. The ingredients tasted high quality, and all the flavors worked really well together. It was more filling than I was expecting! Price-wise, I expected the menu to be more expensive than it actually was. I'm sure dinner prices are higher, especially for steak and seafood, but the brunch menu was quite reasonable. Most breakfast and brunch dishes range from $12-$20, making it a great value for both the quality of the food and the beautiful atmosphere. Overall, we all enjoyed our experience and I'll for sure be back! I'd love to try other menu items and come for dinner, too!

The service was outstanding: attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming without ever feeling rushed. My friend and i ate here based on the reviews and will say i would normally give this 2 stars BUT…read morethe service was so outstanding that I bumped it up to 3. First impression walking in was NOT great. We immediately smelled what can only be described as a VERY DIRTY bathroom smell. Other than the smell which we couldn't stop smelling until we ate and had some wine. The server was great to let us know that it was half off bottles of wine. And since the glass we initially wanted they didn't have this was a great option for us. We weren't able to finish the bottle so the server closed it up and sealed it in a bag for us to take with us. (Tuscan blend which was delicious) We ordered the Lobster Bisque to share to start with. The server/kitchen were kind enough to split it for us into two bowls. Overall the soup was good but NOT great. Then we ordered a bone in Ribeye (22oz) which came with crispy new potatoes and some some sautéed brocollini. We ordered the steak Medium Rare, it came out Medium + and since we were never checked in with on the temperature we ate it anyhow. The flavor was good but definitely far overcooked. The crispy new potatoes were perfectly crispy and the broccolini was sautéed and cooked very well. At the end of the day the service saved our experience. BUT because of the smell and the mis-cooked steak we would not return.

Those TVs don't really fit with the rest of the aesthetic here.
