A chocolate cone as a treat, and sometimes a shake. They are always super nice and fast! The food is fresh and made to order. There's lots of seating inside and outside. And, it's always sparkling clean! CharDog-This hotdog is absolutely perfect! I savor every last bite of it. It's a Vienna Beef hotdog. So, it's the real deal. It's not the traditional Chicago dog. So, don't expect that. This hotdog is juicy, smokey, and charred with a bold beef flavor. Loaded with mustard, sports peppers, relish, and onions. On a nice plush bun. I personally get it without onions. And, it's heavenly! Chocolate Cone-If you're in the mood for a creamy, dreamy, and delicious cone. Then, make sure to get this! The chocolate is nutty and bold. I love this tasty treat. It brings me so much joy! I every now and then will treat myself to this family sized cone. And, I happily finish every last lick of this. So, next time you see Rand Red Hots. Make sure to stop here! You won't regret it!

Tuesday nights are when I try to go because they have a little classic car meetup. French fries and muscle cars are an epic pairing. The dogs , while smaller, still pack a punch with that iconic Vienna Beef flavor. The fries are always hot and fresh. The shakes are pretty bangin' too. Cash only? Worth it. Rand's is definitely a must every summer for our family. Can't say I've ever had a bad time here. Sometimes parking is funky but it doesn't impact our experience. TIP: On Tuesday nights over the summer park on the side street so there's room for the muscle cars. :)

Not too bad for the amount of food we received. This location is themed toward the gangster days of Chicago. If you are into pictures of Al Capone, this may be a destination for you. Or not.

Many of the tables have been replaced by kiosks and an area for online orders. There are no longer lines to order, and it seemed most of the orders were online orders for pick up. Years ago it was hard to find a table to eat, but there were plenty of empty tables. We ordered via the kiosk, which was easy. I appreciate the food is always consistent. I ordered the chopped salad and my husband got a hot dog and fries. The chopped salad with some customization is one of my favorite salads. It comes with a piece of bread. The bread potion size varies, but this time it was quite generous. The salad has iceberg and romaine lettuce that is always crisp and fresh. the dressing is a sweet. Italian vinaigrette. The fries are also some of my favorite. They are crinkle cut french fries , crispy on the outside but soft inside. This is probably one of the best Portillo's around.

The ambience is smooth and friendly vibes. I mean it , the TVs aren't too loud , the lights aren't bright it's cool and relaxing. Now the food is a different story. There's a whole halal menu I didn't get to try. I wanted something that was fast but not too fast so I settle on a burger. The bun was decent but the patties looked preformed and kinda bland. There's a whole leaf of lettuce ( iceberg lettuce) of course on top. The tomato slice was double the thickness of a nice slice you would get at any other place. I asked for grilled onions and got this 1/2 thick slice slightly charred whole onion piece like a piece of tree with all the rings. When I tell you about the flimsy over pickled pickles , it was all down hill. Overall their burgers aren't the greatest but there's a whole other side to the menu . So you let me know if it's worth going back .

The bun was the first signal they knew what they were doing--lightly toasted, just enough structure to hold everything together without stealing attention. Then came the patty: thick, juicy, with that perfect sear that gives you a bit of crisp before it melts into richness. But the real centerpiece? The fried egg. Perfectly cooked--edges slightly crisp, yolk still runny. The moment you bite in, it breaks and seeps into the meat, turning each bite into something borderline indulgent. It doesn't overpower the burger; it elevates it, adding a creamy texture that balances the salt and char of the beef. The toppings were minimal but intentional--fresh lettuce for crunch, a slice of tomato for brightness, and just enough sauce to tie it all together without making a mess. It's the kind of burger that makes you slow down halfway through, not because you're full, but because you realize it deserves your full attention. Messy in the best way, rich without being overwhelming, and anchored by that fried egg that takes it from good to unforgettable.
