I meet friends here because it is an easy location for us all. Our waitress was manning the whole restaurant by herself while staff talked at the bar. Didn't seem fair. She was wonderful but also overwhelmed. The others should have stepped up. I ordered the French toast. It wasn't any better than I could make at home. Food came out not great. You can tell the side potatoes were made ahead of time and plopped on a plate. It wasn't remarkable at all. The bloody Mary's are good. I asked for a beer back but never received it. I won't go back. Too bad. I used to really like this location.

This bar doesn't pay its bands. Do not patronize! I saw this on a Chicago Musicans' Facebook group.

Always a great spot for food - I typically do breakfast but today I got the lunch. Burgers are good but my recommendation is to NOT get a stuffed burger but get a burger and have the stuff on it or accompany it . The stuffed burger could only be cooked one temperature because of the stuffings Steak fries are good and glad they brought back the sweet potato tots - hope they bring back the curly fries next :) Great spot for breakfast lunch and dinner always have specials

House was packed, a lot of tables were reserved for a shower, managed to find a spot. Had the 3 dollar Sunday special, sloppy Joe's and potatoes, pigs in the blanket. Food was delicious and the service was great from the young woman who had our part of the bench table.

The firewater saloon is an awesome spot! I really love their breakfast. It is a mountain country style breakfast. They always have live music and the beer and drinks are always great! If you are looking for a good time or a good breakfast in the morning, come to the firewater saloon!

Have been to Firewater a handful of times; definitely a local spot in town. Have eaten their food which has been good, but this review is on their breakfast. We stopped in for brunch on a Saturday, plenty of space. I was between the skillets or a wrap and chose the Hoedown skillet. Their skillets all look good, but a little heavy. My boyfriend chose the classic eggs Benedict. He enjoyed his. My skillet was decently good, but the ratio of eggs and the rest of the food in it was off. If you're looking for a skillet with a lot of meat, choose the hoedown. It does come with a Texas toast which was good. Lots of breakfast options, the wrap looked good going past me. Just felt like I chose the wrong dish this morning, but also, nothing out of this world. Fun bar to go to on the weekends at night though! Just might skip the skillet next time.

Solid establishment with excellent menu items and strong pours!!! Bartender was attentive and knowledgeable about the area

Gross jalapeno popper grilled cheese (more like a cheese sandwich with overcooked innards). Not recommending

Came here again for the first time in at least a year, and it changed so much in such negative ways. Our server was really nice, and my sister's salad was good, but the food that both me and my mom got sucked. We came here yesterday on President's Day for lunch, and it was DEAD at 11am. It used to always be busy here, and on a day where teens are off, we saw a red flag in no one else being here. We should've listened to our gut feeling. When we got the menu, we noticed tons of their great menu items from before are no longer on the menu. The menu used to be pages and pages long and in this cute binder-like way, but now it's just a laminated sheet, which is fine, but it's so much smaller than before. Just a few of the things that I regularly order that changed: they don't have curly fries anymore, they only sell tacos on Fridays, and they don't have a taco salad anymore. I also asked what soup they had, and they didn't have any even though it was 11am and a side you can get on the menu. Yesterday, I ordered a jalapeno popper grilled cheese, my sister ordered a chopped salad with grilled chicken, and my mom ordered a chicken pot pie. My sandwich sucked and literally wasn't a grilled cheese. It was hard melted cheese on a bun with overcooked crispy bacon and fried jalapeno peppers that were overcooked and had no taste... and their steak fries were undercooked and flavorless. My mom's chicken pot pie was not thick, had nothing inside of it but flavorless shredded chicken (no veggies or anything even mixed in), and the breading on top was half cooked and SO greasy that it was literally glistening. Hers was so bad that she told the waitress that she couldn't eat it, and then she ended up ordering the same salad as my sister because that was good and the chicken was seasoned well. Our waitress comped us for the uneaten chicken pot pie, but I can't believe no one looked at the pot pie and saw it didn't look right. That was a total red flag, too. Overall, I will not be back, at least for a very long time. I once used to come here ALL the time, especially when I was younger, but it used to be so much fun with a young crowd at night, and now it's all older people. I'm not sure if they changed management recently, but the quality was also MUCH better a few years ago.

It came as a great recommendation! We didn't have it for a while since we live the low-carb life but were thrilled to learn they do a "sub in a tub". I love their tuna salad/sub. Their bread is soft, back when I could eat it. They don't overfill it with mayo either and add some mild peppers or hot on request. I like that they don't have onions at the deli so it doesn't overpower everything else. My husband typically loves the club. They rolled a generous amount into a container and I used scissors to quickly and easily cut it. It was a perfect lunch and I have enough for another tomorrow! For $8, or $11 for a generous tuna scoop, you can't beat it. Staff is also quick and friendly at the deli, as well as checkout. You can find all kinds of things for the house or to gift someone whether it's food, a cookie jar, something imported from Italy, or a homemade meal. You'll find something for everyone.
