We decided to dine in for the first time. Normally, we order to go, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. The attendant was very cordial and attentive. This is definitely one of our favorite places to order from. The food is very good and reasonably priced. Highly recommended.

If you want food that is nothing like what's advertised this is the spot! Called in saying I'd like to place an order for pick up and the priority of the girl who answered was collecting my personal information including phone number, first and last name. That was red flag number one but I looked it over, fine. Placed the order and came to pick up. Got handed an empty Styrofoam cup for the drink and two sloppy bags, not very presentable even by fast food standard but okay, we are hungry. Opened the food at home to our greatest disappointment, this is nothing like what we were imagining based off the website! Side by shots included below. The star of this tragedy were the so called "fries" or potato scraps drenched in old oil. The meat was not seasoned and the small amount of sauce barely helped. All the vegetables looked pale and had little flavor. The burger that was requested well done was so undercooked it looked like it only licked the surface of the grill and was probably not safe for consumption. The steak that was requested medium rare was overcooked, rubbery and thin. I am posting this review as a service to those who may consider spending their hard earned money at this overpriced fast food joint hoping for something with more quality. I don't want a refund or the 10% off my next order as there won't be any more orders placed here by us. If the owner cares for their business surviving I recommend quality checks for food before it reaches the customer and less young girls working at the registers focused on collecting the personal information of customers.

Italian beef was kinda bland. Maybe Im not used to the texture of it but it was definitely tender and easy to chew. Just needed seasonings. Also got chili fries - they were crispy and cheese was good but also under seasoned. Just need a bunch of salt. My friend got the chicken sandwich and it came on a brioche bun he said that was much better

I didn't realize the place is so tiny from the inside since it looks larger for the outside as I have always driven by. The location is rather odd to get into the parking lot since you need to on the way right side of the street as you drive fast down Milwaukee heading towards downtown. It's not a issue if you really wants to get there. I have never stopped I there until today. They are nice and good choice of burgers, wings and more. The food it decent although higher priced than expected and since worth to give it a try. There isn't many food places like this in the surrounding 1 mile except super dogs which is different. I could read the menu easily since it rather dimly lit. If they have an online menu, I would take a look at that first. The back door was stuck and it was hard to open. I couldn't imagine if that would be a fire hazard since it took a big push to get out and it seemed as I escaped for a locked cage since it was hard to open. After eating, I get a bit drained although it could have been the heavy oils on fried fries. It since not a bad place and I would give it a shot when you have time to drop in.

I also got to try their seasonal blood orange margarita, which was also delicious! We had the flautas appetizer and for my entree, I ordered the chorizo taco and the pork belly taco. I didn't even make it to the pork belly taco because I was full off the flauta and chorizo taco lol. The hot sauces that they bring to your table in the squirt bottles were bomb dot com!! Spicy enough for some "flava" but not burn your bottle hole spicy. Overall, I highly recommend this establishment for the vibes (I requested they play Bad Bunny and they obliged- zero questions asked and no pushback) and the food! If you're ever having group get together or small party, this place would be great! They also have brunch on the weekends which I will bring some moms back for, for some "Momosa" Dates! All it would take would…read morebe the brilliant inspiration of an owner who possessed a love for its rich history and a passion for giving this iconic restaurant the treatment and respect it so very much deserved. It is now time to celebrate, for owner/director Paulo Villabona has created an astonishing, newly-renovated dining experience at Gale Street Inn that pays homage to the exquisite supper clubs of the 40's, 50's and 60's where the likes of Frank Sinatra, Julie London and Sergio Mendez would transfix audiences through their rapturous melodies and golden voices while partaking in superb cuisine. Founded in 1963 in Jefferson Park, Gale Street Inn had seen quite a few owners over the years and had, sadly, closed for a time when it had lost its way and the spirit was gone. Thankfully, Mr. Villabona had a vision to restore the restaurant to its former illustrious self and remodeled it with the desire to have its customers transported to a more wonderful time when life was simpler and love of family, neighbors and friends felt deeper, stronger and truly heartfelt. Beautiful, elegant dark woods, gold fixtures and vintage murals bedeck the interior and set the stage for an unforgettable dining experience. An actual small stage has been placed in back of the restaurant for live music that creates the perfect tone. Martini, anyone? When live entertainment isn't playing, expertly balanced sound system background music exemplifies this supper club theme to amazing effect. One can almost feel the Rat Pack presence. There is a beautifully designed bar area that is warm and inviting, and the bartenders are extremely courteous, friendly and consummate ambassadors for the restaurant --- as is the entire waitstaff. It's rare to find this perfect a waitstaff unless, perhaps, one has experienced the Four Seasons or Ritz-Carlton Hotels. The crown jewel, however, is the cuisine itself. Chef de Cuisine Greg Manuel has worked his magic and created a menu to rival some of the finest traditional dining establishments out there while energizing classic fare with sumptuous, original and thoroughly enjoyable flavor components. The last time I was at Gale Street Inn was with a good friend of mine, and we shared their warm and wondrous Parker rolls as a starter which were ideal and received gratefully on the freezing evening we arrived. My guest dined on the blackened pork chop which was a marvel to behold. She always comments when restaurants serve chops that arrive dry and flavorless, but this beauty tonight was magnificent. Well-proportioned, tender, juicy and cooked to perfection, it was complimented with expertly prepared apple chutney, charred fennel and sweet potato puree. This one received highest honors from her. I was completely blown away by the mouth-watering, vodka-battered fish (cod) and chips that had such a distinctive resonance of flavor that I simply could not get enough of it. It came with coleslaw and homemade tartar sauce which were, by far, the best I ever ate. Another home run! Since my friend and I both have a brutal sweet tooth which we should be ashamed of but aren't, we finished everything up with their delicious key lime pie and creme brûlée --- both of which were five-star Oscar winners in their own right. Other champions on the menu include their ribs which are known to be the finest in Chicago, standout appetizers, hearty jambalaya, excellent prime steaks, terrific salads and the legendary Gale Street Burger. It is virtually impossible to not fall in love with everything on this menu. I know, it's a bold statement, but Gale Street Inn exceeds expectations on all levels. My deepest thanks to Mr. Villabona, Mr. Manuel and the entire staff for breathing new life into this diamond of a restaurant. The love is definitely there, and it shows!

Just like another…read morereviewer, I had high hopes for this place as it had great reviews and the fact that it was near public transit (assuming it gets high foot traffic). We went here after our flight landed in Chicago - instant regret. I ordered the chicken gyro, which, for some odd reason came with a quarter of white onion chunks, a whole Roma tomato, lots of lettuce, and a whole vat of tzatziki sauce. I requested feta, as that is pretty typical in a chicken gyro. I was told it would be an extra cost, to which I agreed. Yet imagine my surprise when I received not one, not two, but three entire sticks of whole feta. Not crumbled on top of my pita like I was expecting. Additionally these three blocks of feta ended up being $5. That's on me. If I had known to check the menu for whole feta sticks, I would have known better. Aside from that, the pita was almost completely inedible, as it was just coated and lathered in the tzatziki sauce. It came to me on a flat pita, completely impossible to pick up. I ended up requesting just a plain side pita to just construct my own. Wayyyy too much stuff wasted on one pita. Cook could have made a whole second pita from the very mid ingredients - would have made it more worth the price and excessive amount of feta. The side pita was reasonably priced. Just like the other hopeful reviewer, our fries were overcooked and practically hollow. Additionally, we each got a "side of fries" and that was practically a BASKET of fries. So...two baskets of too many overcooked fries. Another waste. I wanted to do more than pay and leave, but God did we have a rough flight. Was not expecting to be so disappointed upon stepping into what seems like a "Mom 'n Pop" kinda place. Run the other way so you don't feel guilty about the amount of food you are bound to waste.

We ordered the honey siracha and buffalo wings. We also ordered the corned beef egg rolls. They had a sweetness to them that we didn't love. It's a cool set up that you could tell is an old house. Our server was rude to another coworker by spouting off commands and when she was confused the server goes, "you need to wake up." The other woman didn't even do anything to warrant that. Coworker rudeness is really unnecessary so that depleted one star, another star was taken for the sweetness of an egg roll. I do want to come back for the wings again.
