I am surprised to see only 2.7 stars on this place. It is only our second visit and like last time, it was packed. Literally, every table but one was taken when we arrived at 6pm. With the music and voices it is pretty loud, but yet we were still able to have a conversation at a table of 4 people. The hostess sat us quickly, our waitress Dallas, did a pretty good job all night. The kitchen seems to pump food out good food quickly. We ordered the potato skins, that were pretty tasty and plentiful for an appetizer. Next she had the filet steak salad, and she enjoyed it. I had the ribs 1/2 rack with corn and steak fries. Very tasty. Last we had a birthday and they hollered out over the crowd to celevrate my brother in laws birthday. Good times . Lastly the bathrooms were clean. Private parking lot very large. We will return again.

Prime Rib medium rare

Solid food for a chain restaurant. It was Father's Day, so they were packed. Only had about a 45 minute wait. The server did an excellent job under stressful circumstances. Over all enjoyable meal and experience.

mango margarita

Awesome as always but the fries seemed a little off. Not freshly made maybe? This was 4:30 on a medium busy Monday. Server De was excellent with a welcoming smile and 110/10 on steak salad shrimp and bread. Not too loud n the back :) Tip -- ask and remind for to go bread service.

Ants

DISRESPECTUFL, RUDE & DISGUSTING. When checking in we were asked if we wanted to sit on the patio. I stated "no" but then was told I would have to. We get put out it's extremely hot and muggy, tables were dirty and then ants crawling on them. They literally turn on a small stand up fan for the whole area. Then when they crack the roll up doors it makes it worse plus people stand next to it smoking. The ants are crawling all over the crumbs and food leftover that doesn't get cleaned off . The flies are horrible. Plus the hazard of extension cords going across the floor. The salt shaker was absolutely disgusting and a severe health hazard as it rust on the Inside that had gotten on the actual salt. The food was not any better. Steak was way over cooked to the point it was like leather, sides were cold , macaroni on the kids plate was curdled Yes I did speak with the manager about EVERYTHING (she had on a tie dyed shirt ). She only said the salts normal, and the steak just needed sauce and the rest just happens.

We went yesterday to use the awesome food voucher that Texas Roadhouse passed out for Veterans on Veteran's day. I tried something new. I had the country fried sirloin. It was actually pretty good. It was also tender. I also had mashed potatoes and a side salad. Both of those were also good. Our waiter was courteous and kept my glass of tea full.

1. Bone in ribeye was not cooked correctly. 2. The complimentary bread/rolls were not cooked through and chewy/doughy. The manager was informed and the I could still see the same bread served by wait staff. 3. Two appetizers were ordered and only the blooming onion came out; however cold. I asked another team member to replace the blooming onion despite couldn't locate my waitress after 10 minutes. 4. All food was over seasoned except the sweet potato and bake potato. 5. After the problems 1-4, the waitress made an effort to promptly come check on the table in a timely manner; yet ignore the gentleman at the table. I usually have a great time at this restaurant and no complaints but this evening was not pleasant. I still left a 18% tip despite the issues. Hopefully this will reach the right people and make necessary changes.

mac and cheese with no cheese :/

Not worth carrying out or taking to go. Your order will 100% be wrong. You'll get charged extra for certain sides, like mac and cheese, and when you go pick it up, they'll give you just a cup of cooked noodles with nothing on it. So make sure you check your food there at the window. The phone number on this location also does not work, you can call all day long and not get a single person to talk to. Frustrating.

Based mainly on the food compared to other barbecue restaurants across the country, I give Meat Boss a solid four out of five stars. It's worth checking out. We rolled in with a group of eight around 12:20pm on a Friday. Luckily, we were able to combine two tables in the side room and sit together. By the time we left (shortly after 1:00pm), the dining rooms were full. This place is popular. We shared large orders, family-style, of ribs, pulled Boston butt (upper pork shoulder), pulled beef brisket, and pulled chicken, along with sides like slaw, fries, mac and cheese, "Boss" beans, and Conecuh sausage. In addition, for the barbecue, we got all the sauces: sweet, sweet and spicy, Carolina, spicy Carolina, and white BBQ. LeAnne could tell we were visiting from out of town, so she came to our table and brought us a couple of containers of Meat Boss's "rib candy" on the house. The menu describes it as "award-winning smoked rib meat, caramelized with Sweet Boss Sauce, brown sugar and honey." The entire meal was delicious and satisfying. The ribs were firm and a bit chewy (not my favorite) and I didn't care for the rib candy, but everything else - barbecue, sauces, and sides - was quite tasty. The sauces were a must. The white BBQ sauce on the pulled chicken was a memorable combo to me, but in general, all of the sauces on the barbecue were flavorful and mouthwatering. The slaw and beans were probably my favorite sides. If you're unfamiliar with Conecuh sausage, Conecuh is a famous smoked pork sausage brand from Evergreen, Alabama. The restaurant itself is situated in a humble, home-like structure. Inside, the vibe is very casual and laid back. Not "modern" or anything like that. Old school. Guy Fieri visited and featured Meat Boss on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives Season 39, Episode 1: "Smokin' Southern Decadence" (March 1, 2024). As we were leaving, LeAnne came out to the covered patio to give us suggestions on things to do during our visit to Mobile. She was really nice and sort of like a mother to us. Thank you, LeAnne! Meat Boss opened in December 2012.

That started a great discussion with the two girls that were working and a guy that may have been the owner, I forgot to ask because we were having a great conversation My first test is, do I need to use BBQ sauce. If it needs BBQ sauce, you did it wrong! I didn't use BBQ sauce. Everything was great, my favorite was the brisket. An important note is that a lot of BBQ places we go to just kinda "phone in" the sides, no real effort at all, sometimes even generic bulk stuff. That is not so here! The green beans were good, but the Mac and cheese!! I have been hankerin' for some good Mac and cheese, this was it! Eat here! Tell em the guy from Texas told ya to come!

It's always a pleasure to go eat where the gal behind the counter recognizes and speaks to you, the proprietor comes out and speaks and then the food, my lord piled high and delicious. I had the fabulous pork sandwich, one pal had the brisket and added some ribs and last man up had loaded fries. Except for being completely useless the rest of the day and enough leftovers to feed two families it was GREAT. But sometimes I worry Bobby will be able to maintain serving up those portions in today's economy, but if he goes up on price, I will just pay more. Turberville is wrong about me paying higher gas prices and being ok, but for this food I would. As always an epic visit to the best Lil' BBQ Stand in 'Bama. And I challenge anyone to offer me a better option anywhere in the country. Thanks again Bobby for being there and sharing your talents.

You can see the big grill where all the meat is smoked. Our table of six had an assortment of combo meals from the pulled chicken to the ribs to the half chicken to the smoked sausage, even a baked potato. I forget the name of the dessert we tried, but it was good. It was almost like a chocolate mousse. I didn't have the iced tea, but it seemed to be popular there. I really enjoyed that mac & cheese, it was really creamy and typically don't have mac and cheese. The coleslaw was good too! The beans were a bit too sweet for many at the table. I wasn't a huge fan of the vinegar styled barbecue sauce, but I'm glad I tried it. Yeah, atmosphere is welcoming, and I would recommend trying out their barbecue in the future if you're in the area.

As others have mentioned, it's a bit off the beaten path, but certainly a worthwhile stop if you enjoy bbq. This business has more seating/space inside than it looks like it might outside. We arrived and parked near the entrance in the gravel lot. It looked like they were working on a food truck while we were there. Stepping inside, it was dimly lit but clean. There are some nostalgic kids' games on the tables which provided my dad with lots of entertainment (Hungry, Hungry Hippos anyone?). The service was very kind and friendly and took care to ensure we were comfortable. I thought the prices were a touch high but they probably have to be to stay afloat. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich with two sides, collard greens and smoked mac and cheese. My parents did the same thing, though I don't remember what their sides were. I thought the barbeque pork was really quite solid. It was a huge portion, so large I ultimately wound up taking the top bun off, spearing hunks of pork and putting sauce on them, then tearing off a hunk of bun rather than eating it as a traditional sandwich. The pork was tender but not mushy, not too fatty, and with a pleasant smoke flavor. The bun was nice and soft too. Definitely recommend the bbq! The sweet and slightly smoky thick bbq sauce was a great accompaniment. I liked the mac and cheese on first bite but as I kept eating it something about the smoke taste just seemed off to me. It became more and more chemical-y and artificial tasting to me, and by the time I was halfway done I was over it. I also was pretty meh on the collard greens, but to be honest I'm not normally a huge fan of them anyway so YMMV. They were a nice texture at least. Overall, solid bbq meat and great service. They're worth a shot if you're in the area.

I ordered the sampler platter with four sides and cornbread for $35 before tax. Let me tell you, I got home and opened up the platter and then all the sides, and I knew this was about to be good. The pulled pork doesn't need any sauce; it doesn't need anything. It has flavor in every bite. Not one piece is dried out, then I ate one of them sausages....... these will be the death of me, the sausage was perfectly cooked I don't know if they make them but man that flavor with the smoke hit me like a flyball, the ribs, fell off the bone, these ribs are so good they give big known restaurants a run for their money and then the chicken, how do they get that skin so crispy and not Burnt or dried out that chicken is nostalgic. Let's get into these sides GET THE GREEN BEANS!!! Goodness, that flavor can awaken a sleeping person, so get them! Potato salad is very good. I love the freshness of the onion and how it was not oversalted. You could add more if you want, but it's very good! Baked beans--no words. The flavor is undeniably fantastic, and the savory richness with a little kick is so good. I mixed a bit of potato salad with the beans, and oh my!!! Mac and cheese will have you aching for more. The pepper was not overwhelming, just a perfect amount of spice, and the creaminess was in every bite; not one bite was plain. All the macaroni was covered in cheese as it should be. Lastly, every bite of cornbread had me grinning from ear to ear. Definitely try this spot out. This meal is enough to feed two adults and two teenagers, and no one will be disappointed or feel hungry! Check out their sitting area. I love the fans to keep the bugs away, and all the shade! This business just made a Lifetime customer! Happy and Full, now I need a nap lol
