OMG! OMG! OMG! Why don't they make air fresheners with the same smell that engulfs you when you walk through the door? The first thing that really impressed me when we first opened the door and had barely set foot inside was the VERY friendly welcome from the staff/owner and even the other patrons. Did I mention the wonderful smell of BBQ? The first difficulty was what to order... Decisions...Decisions... Pulled pork sandwich it is! Ian was with me and he got the fries while I got the collards.... Yummy! The bun was nicely toasted and the pork was topped with fried onions... Yummy x2! I visited for lunch and had the pulled pork sandwich with mac and cheese. The pork was covered with a delicious sweet sauce and the mac and cheese was delicious! The bread was grilled and added to the body of the sandwich. I honestly debated getting a second meal to take with me. The service was fantastic! The owners, Lamark and Wanda were incredibly friendly. The restaurant was very clean. There are 4 or 5 tables in the dining room but you can also get it to go. I'll be back often! read more

They have sweetened or unsweetened tea, but I opted for a canned soda (not included in the lunch special). Everything was hot and tasty. The green beans had new potatoes, and little pieces of stewed tomato and ham, and were the highlight of the meal for me. The Texas toast was buttery and a touch of garlic, garnished with parley flakes. The toast was separated from the rest of the meal with a piece of wax paper, keeping it crispy. I really had high hopes for these ribs because because they are my favorite BBQ. First off the service was excellent. The lady that took my order and brought my food was a sweetheart. Second the sides were very good. I got baked beans, potato salad and red beans and rice. It all was fresh and tasty. Lastly the ribs. They came drowned in sauce. I should have asked if they served them dry but didn't. My fault there. However being dry would have only made them worse. They were tough and the only flavor they had came from the overabundance of sauce. The meat was dry through and through. I suspect they had been overcooked and been stored in the fridge way too long. We all ordered ribs which I feel are the best thing on the menu. They have a great bark and delicious smoky flavor. I got the corn bread and collard greens. Today was my first taste of Boar Hog's and i have to say it was beautiful and delicious! The pulled pork was so tender with a hint of smoke it tasted like it just came off the pit. I was in the area on some business and looking for lunch. I used Yelp and came upon this listing, read the first review and set out. As I was pulling up I was surprised that it was a bit smaller than I expected. I came inside and was immediately greeted by a lovely lady with a hello and a smile. We talked about the options and I decided on the pulled pork and Mac and cheese. She rang me up and I sat down and waited for my food. This place is a bit of a dive, some would say a hole-in-the-wall, so it was right up my alley. The restaurant was clean and had a cool vibe with the tin paneling. The food came out and it was nice and HOT! The bun for the pulled pork was perfectly toasted and lightly buttered. The pulled pork was sauced and had great texture and flavor. The Mac and cheese was tasty as well (I am picky about Mac and cheese and generally am not impressed). I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and got a slab of ribs to take home to my lady. A+! read more
