I hadn't been to Lickin Good Donuts in a good minute. At my previous job occasionally someone would bring donuts and kolaches. They never disappointed and I needed breakfast so I made the trip. Because I was working from home I decided to go through the drive thru. It seemed like a lot of cars but I was able to move along quickly to make my order. Having had the sausage kolaches and maple glaze donuts in the past I knew what I wanted instantly. I ordered one maple donut and one sausage kolach(es). The sausage kolach was just as I remembered it. The bread was warm and buttery with a hint of sweetness. And the sausage was cooked to perfection. I know it's not Conecuh but it was as flavorful as a sausage you can get next to Conecuh. As for the maple glazed donut, it still is amazing. The maple frosting is absolutely delicious. I'm a sucker for sweets and this is by far my favorite specialty donut. I love Krispy Kreme but you can't go wrong with a Lickin Good maple glaze. Lickin Good gets a 5 from me. read more

There's nothing fancy about it, but they were doing good business when I passed through the area and there were plenty of tasty looking options. The maple cake donut I settled on was unsubtle in its sweetness and probably had less than zero nutritional value, but it was pretty delicious. Here in Mobile, AL for the second time in a month at the Hwy 90 near Azalea location their donuts were so greasy that we had to throw them out plus the grease was old and tasted rancid. I am definitely over due on writing a review for Lickin Good Donuts! Been here several times and never dissapointed. Forget the commercial donut stops, this is the bees knees! The donuts and kolachies (spelling?) here are fresh and delightfully tasty. My favorite kolachie is probably the cheese, sausage, and jalapeño one. They have regular sausage and cheese, ham and cheese, boudin, and plain sausage kolachies. The dough in these kolachies are perfect! Soft, chewy, and a slight sweetness...the way kolachi dough should be. If you don't know what a kolachi is, it's similar to a pig in a blanket or hot pocket but WAY better (as my daughter would say 100 times better all the way to the moon and back times infinity!) . Try one...you won't regret it! The donuts are pretty dang good too! They're soft and fresh. The donut holes are probably the best I've ever had. They almost melt in your mouth when they're fresh. I picked some up and saved them for the following morning and they harden up slightly and are so dang good dunked in coffee. For a dozen it's a dollar and some change....I could easily put down a dozen by myself, but I find the strength to share! As for the cream filled donuts, the cream isn't overly sweet, which is nice. The cake donuts are traditional and perfect. Regular glazed puts Krispy Kreme to shame! The employees here are always friendly to me and I've never had a bad experience. Inside is quaint but is clean and friendly. There is a drive thru for convenience, but I suggest going inside if it's your first visit so you can see what all they have to offer. These are excellent donuts. The standard glazed are light, but with just enough chew. I tried a sausage and cheese kolache, which had a delicious wrap around a nice smoked sausage. I would have liked to try the boudin, but it is apparently a popular item, and requires earlier than my 9:30 am arrival. The cream and jelly-filled selection was awesome, and I was especially delighted by the Bavarian cream. Another favorite sample was the blueberry donut, which was one of the best I have ever had. Nothing here is overly sugary. If you prefer the tasteless sugar bombs, stick to the big chains. These have been made with care and taste. Went here and had some pretty decent donuts. They seemed fresh and the price wasn't too bad. I always get basic chocolate donuts or donut holes. I am pretty simple with my flavor choices.
