Long, long, long story short: AVOID PIETRI POOLS AT ALL COSTS!!!…read more Long, long long story: I was referred to Pietri Perfect Pools by my home owner's warranty. What a disaster. William was rude, condescending, arrogant, and did less than shoddy work. The spider gasket in my multi-port valve was allowing water to go down the waste line. William came to my house, checked out my equipment and recommended replacing my entire filter. I had the original stainless steel filter and didn't want to switch to a fiber glass filter. He said it was possible to replace the multi-port valve, but it would take more time and effort. When I told him I wanted to keep the stainless steel filter he stopped returning my phone calls. I called the home owner's warranty to get them to contact him. I said I only wanted the work done if I kept my filter. I came home one day to find a fiber glass filter installed without my sign off. I called to get the stainless steel one back, but he said he had already thrown it in the trash. He was so flippant about the whole thing. I dreaded any contact I had to have with him. He didn't check his work either. When I turned on the pump, water shot out of the water line leading into the pump. It was like a geyser. I called him to tell him that he forgot to put the glue on that union joint. He told me I had probably done something wrong. I sent him a photo of the union and he said he would "look into it when he could". I complained to the home owner's warranty about his service, attitude, and workmanship. They logged my complaint, but to my knowledge people are still getting bad service from this guy. To top it all off, the plumbing he had "installed" started leaking soon after he installed it. This happened when we were actually getting rain, so I didn't notice the water near the filter and my water level wasn't dropping. I called him to get him to come check out what was happening. He said I would have to contact the home owner's warranty. I did, but they said it had been more than 60 days since my first call (not since he had actually done the work) so they wouldn't cover it. They said they could send him back out, but it would be an additional service call fee. He wouldn't take care of his work in good faith even after I explained the situation to him. I had to call the home owner's warranty again. I requested anyone besides Pietri Perfect Pools. Another service company (who gave me excellent service, attitude, and workmanship) come to inspect the work. Apparently Pietri Perfect Pools used PVC on the pump connection instead of the heat resistant CPVC which would have prevented the warping which occurred when the pump heated up during normal use. The second service provider said that he probably saved $8 by using the cheaper grade connectors. The second service provider came to my house twice. Once to inspect the equipment, and the next with the parts to fix the problems (all of which I did not actually list here) created by Pietri Pools. On both occasions he left my home to re-service homes previously serviced by William Pietri. Needless to say: EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED, IRRITATED, and PISSED OFF by this man and his "service".

Short story - find another pool company to work with. I'd give them 0 stars if Yelp allowed it…read more Long story - These guys were assigned by AHS to service our pool twice. The first time - I was losing water in our negative edge basin. The guy came out and said he thought we had a leak somewhere and that we need to contact a leak detection company. He said they may need to jackhammer our patio to get to the plumbing and it's a really big deal. Basically got me all freaked out. So I contacted the leak detection company and the guy said - "before we go tearing up your pool deck, have you looked at the check valves? That's usually the issue." I told him I thought Pietri would have checked that but I had the company who does our weekly cleaning look at them just in case, and sure enough that was the problem. They just went ahead and fixed it since it was such a small, quick fix. So instead of a $20,000, multi-week repair that Pietri was telling me...it cost $50 and took 15 minutes. The second time - had a malfunctioning heater. Again, American Home Shield sent these guys. Same guy who told me I needed to jackhammer my patio / pool deck came out, fiddled with the heater for a few minutes and then said he couldn't fix it because the filter needed to be cleaned and the heater wasn't getting enough water flow. Ok...I had my weekly cleaning guys clean the filter - they said it wasn't that bad and wouldn't be the cause of the heater not firing up in their opinion. So I requested American Home Shield send a DIFFERENT service provider. The new guys came out - said the heater had some bad parts that they need to order. I'm waiting for them to come back and fix the issue.

If you're looking for an automatic pool cover in Austin Todd with Waterloo Pool & Spa is your guy!…read moreSuper knowledgeable, very responsive and reasonable. I contacted everyone I could find for an automatic pool cover to keep my babies safe and had many contractors out to the house. Todd was the best! He is able to build the footers, do the electrical and install the box to hold the pool cover. His rate was expensive but fair given that this is an automatic cover custom built to fit our pool. Specifically, Todd's rate matches precious quotes but he was way more knowledgeable about our pool and the quote included electrical which no one else was willing to provide. Automatic pool covers require electrical to be properly installed and I was very glad to hear that this was included in the price. I'll continue to post progress pics and details about the cover installation process!

If you are considering the investment in a swimming pool, look no further. This has been one of the…read moremost pleasant experiences as a consumer making a large purchase in a long time! From the beginning, Bianca ticked all the boxes when it came to knowledge, promptness, responsiveness, design actualization, budget tweaking, and ease of consultations both online and in person. She gave us REALISTIC timeframes for each phase of the project, no empty promises, and if something was delayed or ahead of schedule, communication was prompt. Once our contract was signed, the process of city permit and HOA approval was streamlined and without delay. With the green light from permits and HOA the crews were at my home immediately. These guys work FAST without big gaps in crews which stands them apart from most contractors. We broke ground on August 6 and were swimming by September 13th. That's 5 weeks! Unheard of! Jim, who is the owner of ADS, is exactly the kind of man you want on your property during a largescale build like a swimming pool! He was onsite most days to make sure that our dream pool became a reality. He kept the project fluid and allowed us to make edits as the project developed in order to ensure we were completely happy. Building a pool is a large undertaking, but ADS made it enjoyable! My husband and I joke that we miss chatting with Jim over our morning coffee as the crews arrived each day of work. Jim's son, Trevor, was also onsite many of the days and we love supporting a family business! When concerns came up, as they do in any construction project, they were not dismissed and remedies were applied until we were completely satisfied. In all, ADS went above and beyond what I would expect while they were employed at my home. Respect, cleanliness (within reason, this is a messy project by nature), quality, and long term value. Construction projects don't have to be a nightmare-headache, and ADS is proof of that!

Deciding to install a pool in your backyard is a huge decision - it is a big financial commitment,…read morea big time commitment, and you are going to be dealing with some sort of inconvenience for at least several months. Our first decision was what kind of pool to put in - gunite or fiberglass. The fiberglass was tempting just because of the shorter timeframe, but after lots of research, we felt better about a gunite pool. Then next we had to find a good company, and there are many choices out there. We interviewed several different companies, including the big name companies, but we were so lucky to find Austin Dreamscapes. A local family-run company, it was obvious from the git-go this was going to be a good experience. Bianca walked us through the whole design process, including tile, coping, and other design features, and basically did ALL the legwork to get the HOA approval done. They went through the whole contracting process, which was a big relief to us to have the protections of a detailed contract. The actual construction was a little painful because we have three big dogs, but the staff worked with us to make it very seamless with minimal disruptions to our life. The turn-around time was much less than what some other companies gave us. Dad Jim, who has been in this business a long time, was on site constantly, communicating with us about what was going on and helping us manage changes we wanted as construction progressed. In a few short months, the pool was done, but Austin Dreamscapes didn't just take off - they walked us through curing of the concrete, how to manage the pool, and set us up with Scott, who did "Pool School" with us to learn all about the pool and how to manage it. Was it cheap? No in-ground pool is going to be cheap (if done right), but the cost was in line with quotes from other companies, and we had the benefit of a hands-on family experience. They have been in contact frequently since completion to ensure all is going well, and they send out reminders of what to do as freezing weather approaches, etc. We would use Austin Dreamscapes again in a heartbeat if we put in another pool at a future house.
