I think this is going to be my favorite place, such good food, and the people there where nice and helpful. Was nice and slow/laid back, clean from what I seen. Stopped here on our way to the airport from Galveston and we were so happy we did! First we were greeted by the most friendliest girl named Gaylynn. She was so nice and smiled the whole time. Wonderful employee!! The entire staff was actually friendly. We had the brisket and ribs and both were excellent!! The twice baked potatoes are a must try!! My daughter ordered the hamburger lunch special with fries for 5.99 and it was seriously one of the best hamburgers ever she said. And for the price it was huge!! The fries were definitely freshly cut with the skin on and so yummy!!! A definite must try if your on your way to or from Galveston. It's right off the freeway so easy off and on!! Only reason for the 4 stars is that we didn't care for the potato salad or baked beans. But then again we are from California so what do we know about southern beans and potato salad!! read more

Finally stopped by here after passing it up going to from Gtown. The ribs were super tender. Glove it when you get marrow out of rib bones. Yeah, I love marrow. Good smoked taste. I found the ribs a little on the too sweet and salty side. If these 2 opposing taste could be dialed down a hair, these ribs would be perfect. Sauce was a little on he sweet side as well. Dry, flavorless brisket and ribs. Couldn't taste much in the way of smoke or seasoning. Asked for moist brisket, and they pulled out a piece of the flat from beneath the point (which was nowhere to be seen), sliced it less than 1/16" thick and served it in a pile. No bark, gray and chewy. Ribs were old-tasting and chewy as well. It's too bad, they have a nice restaurant space. Can't say much more. read more

Not bad. The meats were tender. I got the spicy sauce, my husband got the original. I found the sauce too sweet for my taste. I dont know if it just was not stirred well though, because it was not very spicy but I had a different piece of meat and got a little bite in the sauce on it. The green beans would have been good if they were not canned. But they were fixed up nicely. The twice baked potato was good. I tried the smoked veggies and they were interesting. Everything was just, eh. Service wasn't exceptional but there wasn't anything wrong with it either, my issue was with the food. I've always been a fan of good barbecue, as well as good sides. Everything out looked bland and wilted, the only thing that looked promising was the baked beans. I got my choice of meat, biscuit, and two sides of baked beans. The beans were hot (which I prefer greatly to cold), and the meat was there looking, again, bland. Nothing tasted exceptional, and I don't believe I'll be back. read more

Hands down the best BBQ in La Marque ordered the brisket very juicy and flavored just right the smoke ring was perfect. I also had the pasta salad and let me just say that was also on point wish I would have ordered a large .. LoL . I love the food here but will probably stop going. The parking lot has giant holes that threaten to swallow my car every time I pull in. Today I ordered food to go...brisket nachos. I asked to put the chips in a separate bag so they wouldn't sog out before i got home. They charged me an extra $2.00. Lots of bbq joints in the area. I'll find a new one.UPDATE... I actually ordered brisket nachos and a barbecue baked potato to go. They were so focused on getting the extra two dollars out of me, they forgot to give me the bbq baked potato. Now I have to drive back and get it. Not very happy. Update 2...went back to get the potato. They made me a fresh one...apologized and gave me a free dessert. We visited during the reopening of Covid-19. My family and I love a good BBQ and Google rated this place a 4.5 and YELP had it at 4 stars. The outside of the building gave my husband and I the impression of "we should find other BBQ" and we were right! Upon entering the food smelled great. The staff was super friendly and the cost for 3-1 plate meals with drinks was $50. We got our drinks and our meat was cold, and not like just starting to get cold, i mean my twice baked potatoes were microwave warmer than my brisket. My brisket was so cold that you would think I was late for dinner. Then, I started looking around and noticed that there was dust HANGING off of the ceiling fans and that the air vents were either moldy, rusted or just in need or replacement. All in all, we probably ate $5 worth of our food due to seeing a fruit fly that was giant and with covid and all, the place should be really clean and not have flies. So, all of our drinks and food went in the trash. The 2 stars are for the staff, that 1 extra star is for their niceness. read more

I'll start with the positive. The twice cooked potatoes can be good. Yet i find them inconsistent. Sometimes they're good. Sometimes mediocre. My overall opinion about this place..... there's alot better barbecue not to far away. I've only checked in once through the yelp app. Although I've been here a few times. If i didn't think it was that great then why did i come back you might ask. Two times i was with friends that wanted to try it, and i didn't want to force my personal preferences on them. The last time i went, i was on lunch break from work, it was on the way back, and the closest thing available. Me being gluten intolerant gives me less options when it comes to where i can eat. But the chicken is lacking in flavor among other things being mediocre. I want to like this, i really do. But every time i go it's just more and more ingrained into my head that if you have time to drive just a little farther over into Galveston; Queen's barbecue and Leon's bbq are both alot better. I do want to stress that this is just my opinion, i have friends that like this place. I mean, they have a few trophies in the place. Some people obviously like them. read more
