Don't really want to bring anymore attention to this place due to the long lunch lines that move fast and smooth BUT this place produces an Amazing Jalapeño Burger. Bought sausage link and boudin links for the house and it is some of the best. Go and get ya some. It's good. First time we've taken our deer meat to Dorecks. Unfortunately it will be the last time. We ordered Jalapeño and cheese sausage. We were given a mix of Jalapeño and jalapeño and cheese. I tried to be positive and let it go as a mere mistake, because hey we are human. Sorry, not sorry. The jalapeño and cheese has hardly any cheese in it. Both the jalapeño and jalapeño and cheese have slices of jalapeño as you can see pictured. Never in my life have I seen this from a processor. The casings were thick and tough as well. I understand it gets busy during deer season, but this is no excuse to let the quality suffer. If you're going to have a bunch of kids working in the back handling this stuff just so you can get product out to us hunters, at least have someone ensure the quality is still in the end product. I'm definitely glad we only brought 15 lbs of venison to test this processor out. read more

people were friendly and the sausage I had made was pretty good. it was a bit chaotic when I got my order and they were scrambling to find boxes of my order all over the place. they almost sent me out without one of the boxes of my order. I bit into a piece of the cheese sausage that almost broke my teeth (some bone from the hog) and half of the sausages vacuum wraps were full of air and not sealed. I also tried a role of the summer sausage and it had some hog hair in it. all in all it was okay but the product I got wasnt as good as I expected from a highly rated place. read more

Brisket sandwiches are really tasty, nice smoky flavor, not too much fat, fresh buns. Good amount of brisket on the sandwich. Rally enjoyed the BBQ sauce. Downside, no French fries, potato salad was only so-so, and this place is not good for in- house dining. So I give 4 stars for the sandwiches and two stars for everything else. read more

Great meat market find!!!! The service was sweet and very attentive. The prices are very reasonable and they do custom slaughtering if you need. We got some sirloin stir fry, flat iron steaks and thin ribeyes and I was very pleased with the flavor and quality of the meat. They even have a little deli inside where you can get burgers, boudin balls or BBQ if you want lunch. I highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area. Call ahead if you have special requests (like oxtails) and they will do their best to accommodate. I will come back for sure! read more

I've lived here 4 years, one side of my family since the 70s and they always get there pork, deer and beef processed here. I've tried venison sausage, burgers, steaks and pork chops on several occasions as well as recently purchased sausage and steak here. I find that all the sausage that's either processed or purchased here tends to be dry and overly salted. The steak we recently purchased was also tough. I've given this place several opportunities but this is average at best. read more

Swung by and picked up some ground beef, bacon (thick cut, and absolutely delicious), and a few steaks. Their package deals look awesome, just couldn't justify it for my short term stay. The woman who assisted us was extremely patient, so many options it made it a hard decision! Definitely a place to check out, wish we would have stopped and had a burger, or something while we were there. Several people were there enjoying their lunch, everything looked great. Everyone is always welcoming and greet you as you walk in, all of the meat and sausage ( pan, crawfish link, and jalapeño cheese link ) we have tried have been superb! Super fresh and not overpriced. Even their meat packs are great deals. Today we actually got an alligator sausage as well to try . I'm sure it's amazing as well. Their ribeye sandwich is amazing and huge, can share if you order a basket, with their always fresh and crispy fries. I also get an order of their boudin balls and that's plenty for myself and hubby to share. This place is awesome! A few months ago, I ordered 8lbs of prime rib. The owner was polite enough to speak with me about how to cook it because it was my first time. It turned out great! Yesterday, we picked up two 8oz. Filets.... this is our favorite cut and we have tried many different places to get them from. Well Dorecks is the best we have ever had. The filets cut with a fork, and were so tender you barely had to chew the meat. It literally melted in your mouth. No other stores can compete with this quality. I've tried Sprouts, HEB, Kroger, Trader Joe's and many different restaurants including Perrys, Ruth Chris, Saltgrass, Outback etc... you get the point. Nothing can compete with Dorecks Filit Mignon. AND if you are in a hurry for lunch they have great bbq brisket sandwiches. I recommend this butcher shop to anyone looking for quality meat. read more

I decided to try and this meat market out after wanting to try something different for my steaks that I cook at my house. The location is close to the main access of I-45 however currently there is road construction near the meat market. This place gives you that old Meat Market feel and the staff here is very friendly and is available to help you find whatever that you need. After selecting 4 ribeyes I decided to take them home and cook them for my family. This meat is an excellent cut in the flavor of the meat showed throughout. I could not have done a better job choosing the perfect caterer for my son's graduation celebration! We had burgers and Ahi Tuna Tacos and the best French fries I have EVER had! One of the most nerve racking things when planning a party is making sure the food is good and pleases everyone. I had been coming to this place for 4 years. The customer service was mainly average. The meat packages have not changed. As of today, I will no longer be a customer. I can no longer tolerate the attitude of the staff, particularly, the older lady of the group. She has made it a point to not provide service to me every time I come, even when I am the only customer in the store. She makes it seem as if she is busy with an order, even no one is in. I have not had any confrontation with her or anyone in the store, but as soon as another customer comes in she greets them and helps with their order and selection. We just moved to Santa Fe, and I have to say that after having purchased meat at the grocery store and other meat markets in Dickinson (i.e. A.J.'s), I have to say that this is the best meat and is well worth the separate trip (grocery store/meat market). Nice place with a variety of meats, meat packages, cheeses, smoked sausages, etc.. You can also get package deals for your freezer, or have an animal processed. I'd give them 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that they don't consistently use gloves to handle the meat. They might scoop up hamburger bare handed, or use gloves, then use the same ones at the register handling money, then go out and have a smoke with the gloves still on.
