That was the worst BBQ I've ever had. The brisket was EXTREMELY DRY and had no flavor. I could literally use it as a hammer. My buddies food was cold and flavorless. Would NOT recommend. read more

We were in Galveston and was looking for a good BBQ place that was close. When we saw Texas Pit Stop we thought we were going to have some good BBQ. Unfortunately this was not the case. I ordered the three meat meal with sliced brisket, pulled pork, and sausage. The sides were green beans and mac and cheese. I also ordered a loaded bake potato and a cheese burger with fried okra. For the dessert I was hoping to purchase Pecan Pie but unfortunately they didn't have any so I ordered banana pudding. I was very suspicious once we got home because we drove around the property and noticed no smoke pits whatsoever on the property. After seeing this we should have skipped this place all together. I have been smoking meat for well over 25 years so this was my bad for not checking before I purchased. To all the non Texans please don't take this place as true Texas BBQ because it is not true Texan whatsoever. The brisket I purchased had little to no smoke ring whatsoever, and was very dry. The pulled pork was drowned in some type of sauce that was extremely sweet and the sausage was good....but no smoke ring. The green beans tasted like they were from a can with no flavor and the mac and cheese tasted like it was out of a box and drowned in Velveeta cheese. The banana pudding was ok but tasted like it was poured out of a can. The cheese hamburger was very bland and tasted like a cheap Burger King burger. The stuffed baked potato was good ,but very hard to mess up a baked potato. If you ever had true BBQ no matter where your from you know a smoke ring means it was truly smoked. This place does not have a smoke ring on the meat and if you don't believe me look at their website or other peoples pictures and you will see there is no smoke ring. I try to give every business a chance but when you label yourself as Texas BBQ that is a big standard to hold up to. If the owner sees this please fix these issues and use a true smoker because without doing this you are just another Dickey's Barbecue Pit which is not true BBQ FYI we paid almost $70 for all the food. Very very sad. read more

Oh, man. That really sucked! I just had a TX Cheesesteak Sandwich, and the first time I had it, completely different from this time. For starters, the sandwich had way more meat. This times order had way less meat to the point, I felt like, I was eating a value menu sandwich. I told myself today, I was going to get a good meal from here, and got ripped off. Secondly I ordered half a pound of ribs that came out dry as heck. It seems like, every time I buy from there, they mess the order up a new way. I will say, I like the service. The front desk waiter with braids is very formal, kind, and has great manners. It's the actual food is inconsistent. read more

The food is good, not the best I've had but they've been around a long time and the bbq is really good. Fried okra is great! Will be back soon! read more

I went to dine in. The food was dry. I did not complain because no one seemed to care. After all they served that to us. The brisket was drIed up, chicken looked dried up with heated lap, & we got old bread. The sausage and ribs were decent. I got the last cup of tea since the staff didn't restock it. The people who prepared our order obviously do not care about food service! I was not impressed with the customer service or quality of the food! read more

Delicious food! I went with one pther person around 5:30pm on a Thursday night. The food was delicious. We both orderes the two meat plate with 2 sides and split brisket nachos. My friend had the ribs and pulled pork, twice baked potato, and mac and cheese. I had the turkey and pulled pork whith mac and cheese and baked beans. I loved the turkey and pulled pork. My friend enjoyed her ribs too. I think the twice baked potato was the best our of all the sides we got. I got the regular and spicy bbq sauce and the spicy is definitely my favorite. We had to wait about 20-30 minutes for our food and it was not that busy. The staff did apologize for our wait though. I would return to this restaurant in the future. read more

The three best letters in the English alphabet and this place halfway between La Marque and Galveston does it right. And it has the trophies to prove it -- more on that later. Despite BBQ being a huge, integral part of this wonderful state, I haven't had any since last Christmas. Also, I haven't been here in quite a while (read: three years) so I figured a lunch visit was in order. I got the two meat platter with pork ribs and brisket. For my sides, I chose mac and cheese and Cajun potato salad. The brisket was melt in your mouth great. No grease, just juices. When it comes to ribs -- pork ribs, especially, I judge them by how easy the meat comes off the bone. That said, I could eat the ribs here until I pop. Tender, nicely marinated, and just the right size, a full rack is a probable must on my next visit. Regarding trophies, diners will see a lot of them all over the restaurant. For give or take more a decade, Pit Stop has competed in many a event and placed. Granted, you won't be disappointed with what you'll grub on here. read more

BBQ and sides are delicious. That's hard to find at a BBQ spot. But they got both going for them here!

Went to the location at the mall of the mainland. Lady behind the counter was a zombie and never acknowledged us just said "what do you want". Sliced beef sandwich, potato salad and a tea. $21. I think that is high for lunch. Won't go back. Nice place though. read more

Great standard Texas BBQ. Staff were very friendly, definitely get your money's worth, and having only visited once, it is evident that we would have a consistent good experience at this location. Very clean and comforting here too. read more

Let's start with the reason for the visit, Food is good. I ordered stuffed baked potato and a drink, leaving still hungry compared to other competitors. Bacon bits used were those you purchase at H‑E‑B or Walmart. If you're seeking to try out something different, by all means come check them out however you'll get more for your buck elsewhere. Lastly, only had interaction with the cashier. The lady working on Sunday 04-24-22 around 1:20PM, very much not happy to be here nor care to provide any time of welcoming anything. Dry, robotic, your not desired interaction all in one. Absolutely nothing wrong with soul/church music but doesn't fit the restaurant style. Not the full experience, I gave it the opportunity to find a new favorite place, unfortunately not impressed with todays visit at all. read more

I've been a customer at this location many times since it opened but won't be back. My food today was extremely underwhelming, except for the macaroni and cheese. The turkey tasted like shoe leather and dirty smoke and I've had better brisket at gas stations, not even named bucees. Very unfortunate that a restaurant built on competition and countless trophies is this bad. read more

Ordered two different meat plates and requested "moist brisket" on each. At best, one was lean on the dry side and the other was super dry. Just awful terrible brisket. Better than the first brisket I ever made but not by much. The other meats were okay and sides were too which kept this from being a one star review. Not a top five worst brisket I've ever had but a top five worst brisket from a bbq restaurant. Too awful to even make chopped beef with yet they served me slices of it after I requested moist only. If they posted their recipe I would use it as tips and tricks for things to avoid in a brisket cook read more

Texas Pit Stop BBQ - What you get if you order "moist brisket" - Barbeque Near Me - La Marque, Texas

Quick stop but highly recommended. Thank you for the recommendation I was not disappointed. I tried a 3 meat to sample a bit of major meats that came with two sides. After devouring the 3 meats and sides of Mac n Cheese and Vaquero Beans, I could only say that the weakest item was the fountain drink! Hahaha Nothing wrong with the drink other that I had no room for it in my belly! All meats seasoned and cooked to near perfection. This is one of those places that have BBQ as a condiment but it's not required... the meant is that tasty!!! The staff was beyond friendly and service was quick. The location was clean... what else can you ask for? Give the team at Texas Pit Stop BBQ a try at one of their 3 locations. You will not be disappointed. Enjoy! read more

I would have ranked them 5 stars when they were just at one location. I'm not sure if the LaMarque location is still 5 stars or if it has fallen to a 3 as well. The TC mall location has BBQ that is just OK. I ordered takeout so I can't speak about the service, but the LM location had very nice employees and good service. The ambiance is BBQ like. Big open room with long tables. read more

Texas Pit Stop BBQ - 2 meat plate - Barbeque Near Me - La Marque, Texas

Hands down, the best bar-b-que I've had in a restaurant setting. This place has got to be a hidden gem in La Marque. Walking in, almost the entire staff greeted us. I can't say for sure whether there were smiles behind their masks but I'm pretty sure there was lol. Some tables are closed off as they are practicing social distancing. I ordered the two meat plate which comes with two sides. I opted for the brisket and ribs accompanied by mashed potatoes and mac & cheese. The brisket was amazing and not overly peppered which is a mistake that most places make in my opinion. The ribs were tender and sticky with lots of flavors, they literally fell off the bones. The mashed potatoes were similar to homemade and the mac & cheese reminded me of Luby's but even better. My wife also ordered the two meat plate, choosing the turkey, sausage. She asked for the green beans and the mac & cheese as well. The turkey was great, not dry and the sausage was not too spicy but still had a tasty kick. I'm glad she ordered the green beans because they were surprisingly good. We both had enough to take home and have for dinner the following night. We'll definitely be back! read more

I love their ribs!! Ask for gloves to eat them. It will keep your fingers clean. Staff is very attentive.

Awesome food. Service is quick and my food is always correct. I am not huge bbq fan but I will eat ANYTHING from this place! So good especially the brisket nachos..yum!! read more

Their restaurant is adorned with dusty trophies, so I was hopeful. Everything was covered in plastic wrap when we went there which lead me to believe that not everything was fresh and/or they did not have a lot of traffic. The brisket I ordered was nothing special-- min fact, no one asked me if I wanted lean or moist...they just served me whatever. Whatever was given to me was not delcious... it tasted like it was boiled. My BBQ sauce was unmemorable and my sides were bland. Definitely not the the price. Not returning. read more

Awesome food fast service and great employees. The atmosphere was a little cold but the food made up for it.

Had a Baked potato all the way. With sausage links. It was pretty legit. I would try it again

Great food and super nice staff! They were very kind to explain the menu and take good care of us.

Used to be good. Wife ordered two meat plate with brisket and turkey. Both served cold. Greasy potatoes and dry Mac and cheese. I ordered hamburger that looked more like a sausage patty. Definite mystery meat. But at least I didn't get sick. She was up all night. Really don't appreciate being served day old, off temperature food for $50. read more

Good food. Great service. Great portions, brisket was a tad dry-but we did order lean.

I ordered chopped brisket sandwich was sooo good with bbq sauce and my husband has a sliced brisket and boudin he said it was very good .

My mom and I visited here for lunch recently and I decided to venture from my usual. I tried the chicken salad and like everything else I've tried, it was superb! The chicken was so tender and they definitely didn't hold back. The staff were very approachable as always, but there was a bit of a wait to pay for the food that I didn't understand considering there was no one in front of us in line. I think their's only one person who can work the register, and she was also running food for those who ordered something that had to be prepared off the buffet line. In this case, maybe an adjustment to the system would be beneficial. Overall, another great experience with some tasty BBQ! read more

Called in an order and was a little confused about the increase in prices. I understand everything has been going up in price. That's not my issue.
