I've been coming here for a few years now for laser treatments and I can't recommend it enough. To be fair, that is the only service I ever get so I can't speak to their plethora of other services. However, everyone is always super nice and laser treatments are dirt-cheap because it's a school so I can't complain much. To be transparent, the reason laser treatments are cheap is because you might have a student or 2 in your session and depending on how far along they are in the program, they might be the one doing your program - but it's always with the assistance and the direction of the teacher. PLUS, I end up getting a treatment with just one of the teachers and no students in the room half the time. Their new location off West Gate is bigger, still very clean and inviting. They also have coffee, teas and water for guests. read more

I just moved to Texas and need to comply with the Texas laws for my esthetic license and laser tech training. In order to do so that means I have to get certified in many areas that I have some training in from Virginia. I signed up for the laser apprentice class and completed my 100 body site requirements. This will allow me to be a laser technician in the state of Texas. Well of course once the state of Texas receives the paperwork and inspects it to ensure all qualifications were met. I had a meeting with Katie, one of the owners of this school, which I was encouraged to sign up for a few other classes. This should allow me to get into the medical esthetic industry in Austin. I learned so much since not being from the area and new to this career that I wouldn't have learned this on my own. I would like to state that I want to advance in this career and I knew already it would require a few more classes. The school has been very helpful to me. They want me to succeed in my career with helping with career placement as well as additional training. I never had that from any other school I have been to. Who would allow me to come back to do more laser hair removal on body sites if I wasn't comfortable or wanted to brush up on my skills? No other school I have been to would have. All the instructors here really know there stuff. I was highly impressed because some of them seemed quite young to me. Maybe it was all the great procedures they do on or have done on themselves? Haha If you are looking for cheaper services on yourself that are high quality i would recommend coming here. Students do perform some of the services but you will have the instructor in the room guiding them and making corrections if needed. read more

My experience and training at this academy has been nothing short of exceptional. I have attended the Hydrafacial, chemical peels, and senior laser technician courses and have been so impressed with the education and experience I received. This is my first time getting any laser treatment done. 5 stars for the clean and aesthetic site, and the great customer service of the front desk, tech and trainees. Currently on the 4/6 of the recommended underarm treatment, and there has been visible hair thinning, reduction, and hopefully after the sixth treatment, complete hair removal. Since it is a training academy, the skill level and technique of each visit did vary, but not significantly enough to be any kind of problem. read more

I get my botox and laser hair removal done here. 1- I actually get Dysport and they are amazing here. I have tried several other medical spas in the area and hands down Kaylee is my favorite injector. I get better results here than any other place I have been and they last. 2- I had laser hair removal years ago but Melanie (works here) convinced me to give it another try. I have had such an amazing experience and my results have been outstanding. So far I've done three treatments and I barely need to shave. Plus it's not painful at all to get treated. I had high hopes after all the stellar reviews about this school and the work people had done here. I took the Cool Sculpting class and had injections completed during a class training as well as 2 follow ups afterwards. The school was definitely not prepared to offer this class. Their curriculum and instructor was not focused on day one and on day two I was working with only their staff as "models". In regards to my injections. While I appreciate that I was taken in as a model for my injections the first time. I was not serviced by a student, but by one of the owners, Katie. She also did the next two follow up visits. I received the same results. Very minimal. In theory, the Cool Sculpting class would be a great class. However, I think the school should rethink the class before offering it (I was the only student in the class). read more

Update: the owner reached out to me personally and wanted to fix the problems I had with the services. She was really nice and understanding and really did a lot to make things right. I went in a few weeks ago for another treatment and the service was really great. The technician was really through and made sure all my areas were treated properly. I was very happy with the service and really impressed with management reaching out to make things right. I will update my star rating once the remaining procedures are done to provide a proper review on the consistency of quality. --------------- Original review: I went here for laser hair removal and it's really hit or miss. I've had one great technician (Texas) that is really accurate and precise. He is super detailed even when he is training the students in the room. I've had female technicians that have missed areas, so I had to return the next day to get that area treated, I've had another go through my procedure so quick that the laser was all over the place, and another that didn't get my Brazilian done properly. It's definitely not consistent and you can't request a specific tech so you're getting different people each time. They're also so booked that it's so hard to get a weekend appointment. My results are not great and I never got to finish (I only did 6 treatments) Texas is the only reason this place got 3 stars. Consistency is really important to the results you are looking for, unfortunately they don't have that. read more

As both a client and a student of Texas Laser & Aesthetics Academy, I can whole-heartedly say it is AMAZING for treatments and learning alike. Even while I was just a patient for laser hair removal, I got educated with every appointment. And after finally investing in the Laser Apprentice class? I know more than ever! Even at my current spa where I simply do lash extensions, I feel quite confident in recommending tlaa to clients and even can tell them about the laser hair removal process. It's all thanks to the staff!! Each lesson we got to meet a different staff member - Tristen gave us the introduction and how to become a laser tech, Kaylee gave us a hands-on demo of the lasers, Skyler explained possible conditions/afflictions, Melanie was amazing with ingredients, Katie explained the physics of laser, etc. There's so much to learn, but it's throughly explained and you're totally free to ask the instructors questions at any time. The classes were all so exciting and everyone is incredibly kmowledgable -- it made me want to come to school! I'm not a huge beauty person. I'm lucky if I manage to keep my toenails painted, and I rarely wear makeup anymore. But when I saw the had the opportunity to get laser hair removal at TLATA, I jumped at it. Not having to shave my armpits sounded amazing, and the price was just right. Sure, getting laser treatments by students sounds scary, but I they are well supervised and do a great job. The staff and faculty are incredibly knowledgeable and make sure the students are always doing things right. I've now completed five treatments, the hair is almost completely gone; I've had the absolute best experience. My only reason for the four stars is the relatively strict cancellation policy. That said, I don't think it'd any more stringent than other salons and medspas (24 hours notice). read more
