The machine they use at SEV was different than what I'm used to, but my tech, Lexi, was amazing. She was welcoming, covered many details, and just made the overall experience a positive one. I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was extremely disappointing. Before my appointment, I completed all of the required intake forms, including disclosing that I use retinol and that I've had microneedling. I assumed this information would be reviewed before my appointment if it affected my eligibility for treatment. Instead, I received a phone call as I was parking for my appointment--after driving about 45 minutes --to tell me they couldn't perform the laser facial because I use retinol. To make matters worse, I had called the day before to ask which parking garage to use and whether parking was validated. I was told to use a specific garage and that parking would be validated. After arriving, I learned they only validate parking on weekdays--not Saturdays. That information should have been provided when I specifically asked. I appreciate providers prioritizing patient safety, and I don't fault them for declining treatment but the lack of prior notice and incorrect information about parking left a really bitter taste. the staff took zero responsibility for their oversight and said I should have read the policy. read more

Mind you, I cancelled my appointment 44 hours before my appointment so I guess that's not an excessive charge at all since I was 4 hours outside their cancellation policy. I've been coming to SEV for a little over 1.5 years now. I originally got a good Groupon deal for 1 large area and 1 small area (6 sessions), and after that pack concluded, I've scheduled a few follow-up touch-up sessions. I have some mixed feelings about my experience here. The pros: I see a difference in my hair growth and am overall pleased with the laser results. I was primarily waxing prior to starting laser, which was actually the same cost as my sessions at SEV, so laser is definitely a more cost effective options for me. The cons: you get what you get with your technician. My latest appointment, I had someone new (to me) and really liked them. However, all of my previous sessions have been with technicians who, honestly, have been quite rude. They have seemed judgmental, cold, and lofty - I don't have any other way to describe it. The front desk staff have also always seemed like they just want to churn clients in and out as fast as possible, and they also clearly just want to make as much money as possible. For instance, I checked in on Yelp and saw a pop-up about redeeming 5% on the appointment. I was just about to be taken back for the laser session, so I put my phone away and planned to redeem it at the end of the session when I was paying. Of course, the pop-up went away (just my luck...) but I figured I could just explain it to the front desk and they would understand. Nope. Without any remorse, they said I should have told them prior to the appointment. How would I have known to do that? Then, they told me that they weren't offering parking garage validations that day. The iPad was malfunctioning, so I had to wait several minutes for them to figure it out so I could pay. By the time that I finally ran back to my car, I had been parked for 33 minutes. The first 20 min in the garage are free, an extra 10 min (so 30 total) are $6, and then every half hour after that is another $4. They charged me $10. Although I've liked the results of the laser itself, I have not liked my experience at SEV and will likely be exploring other options. It's a shame, because I have recommended SEV to a handful of other people, but have had to share this experience with them, as well, and we're all going to explore other places for laser. read more

If I could give them 0 stars I would. My friend had to deal with a situation that was out of her control (traffic due to an accident in the freeway)... she ended up arriving late for her appointment after driving for 2 hours. Staff couldn't even listen to what she had to say and did not have any empathy regarding her situation. She also paid for parking and wasted her time just to be told she would not have her laser session today. I am a SEV customer and I never imagined that they could do that to a customer. I know as a customer we have to make sure we arrive on time but I also know very well most of the times we also seat and wait for a bit prior to our laser sessions. To be able to provide a good customer service we need to listen to the customer and understand certain aspects of each situation before making a decision that may impact their whole day. I should have wrote this review a really long time ago but today Iv had enough with this place. I had purchased a bundle of six treatments for laser hair removal for two different areas on my body. Out of the six appointments I've only done five, they can keep the last one because of how unprofessional this place is and I won't be back. Out of the five appointments that I have had here I'm constantly getting called to reschedule to an earlier time then my scheduled appointment. Iv even showed up at my last appointment that I confirmed but they canceled in their system so i had to wait around it get snuck in. They turn clients in and out of the rooms way too fast thoroughly to even clean them. I'm pretty sure all they do to clean those rooms is literally just change the paper on the beds in-between clients. I've never once heard them wipe down the beds before. Well, today I went in for my last laser treatment and when we were about to start, the technician asked me if I started any medication and I told her yes and she had told me I need to reschedule because the medication unfortunately is not something they want me to be on if they are going to do laser hair removal. EVEN THOUGH MY DOCTOR cleared it BTW. Totally fine though, I could reschedule and It's not the end of the world. It then took a turn when the girls at the front desk then told me I need to pay 50% for my visit today because they told me I COULDNT get it done. Tell me how that makes sense? I was refused the service and now I'm told I need to pay for the service even though I showed up and wanted it done and they declined to do it. They will mark off your area in which will be treated and test before the strength to make sure you are comfortable before starting. The process is quick and painless. Laser is a scam. I have gotten laser in 3 different places for over a year now. On my face, i always tell them upper lip/ sideburns and they zap me all over my lower face and neck. I guess if they zap you in places where you don't grow hair, you'll start to. I guess thats how they keep getting you to come back. Im growing a full on beard now, even halfway down my neck and i have NEVER grown hair there. I literally have to shave my face 2/3 times a WEEK, I even went to my doctor to get tested for PCOS and i was negative so this is the only thing it could be. I won't go back ever. Through various negative experiences, it finally came to a head when they severely burned my legs in one session by lasering at too high of a level. I repeatedly told the technician that it was hurting, and she kept going. Prior to that, my experience had already been negative, but they had convinced me to buy sessions in bulk up front, so I felt I should keep going to get what I paid for. One sunday they texted to confirm my appt and I didn't reply within 2 hours and they texted again threatening to cancel the appt?? They also have free parking from 9-5 at a nearby garage. One time they stamped my parking ticket at 5:00 (this appt went longer than normal since I was in so much pain). I asked if the validation would work for a few minutes so I could get to my car and they said yes. It didn't work, charged me $15, and the parking attendant said the people at SEV know it doesn't work past 5. I called them immediately to let them know it didn't work and charged me, and the lady said "I'm sorry that happened to you" and hung up, without offering to cover the parking charge for their mistake. The ladies that work there are all young and unprofessional. My technician mentioned that she was about to turn 20. Just not what I'd expect for a med spa. Even after almost a year of treatments, my hair grows back quickly, and I'm fair skinned with brown hair. Next time, I'll go somewhere that you pay per area, not per session. read more

I find this office very frustrating to deal with. Called several times throughout the day, was on hold for over 10 minutes at a time until it hangs up and still couldn't get anyone on phone. Had to drive over there to ask them a question. Wasted my time. The girl that works reception is a bimbo lacking any common sense, manager doesn't seem to be anywhere, any issue and these girls disappear into a room to call their manager and spend a good amount of time there. Then when it's time for appointment they have audacity to tell you it's too late for full service, well that's not my problem, if you weren't a complete idiot you wouldn't have wasted all that time on phone with manager - who btw should be there, not working from home. SEV Laser is more of a production service rather than a spa experience, but their prices reflect that (very reasonable!). The equipment is up to date and they are thorough in asking the relevant questions each time. So I had 6 sessions done and I bought a Groupon so I would say you get what you pay for... the sessions themselves were fine. Everyone was polite and I didn't have issues scheduling. The technicians kind of rush though and you're done very quickly. However after 6 sessions my hair is completely growing back on both areas I had the laser done. It doesn't even appear to be reduced. I had 2 technicians who were doing it and I don't have any questions to them BUT (session with one technician was 1 hour and so and with another one about 40 minutes) I know that only black hair can be removed and I know that everyone's different and have different bodies and blah blah blah ( I didn't take any medications for year, we're using sunscreen and wearing sunscreen clothes) But after a month from last session all black hair FULLY growing back like it was never EVER lasered before. And it's not one little spot or few little hairs growing back - it's full legs, bikini, underarms, face. Of course I'm disappointed and not happy as it appeared they don't remove hair only in the end when I called to tell them the nothing worked out. The front desk staff is nice, the facility is clean, the laser technology is painless, there is little to no wait time, and I appreciate their strict adherence to COVID protocols. One thing I will mention is that appointment slots are typically only 5-10 minutes long (depending on the size of the area you are treating) so you MUST show up early or on time. I have seen people get into arguments with the front desk staff over this policy and demand their money back to no avail. Therefore, if you are running late you may as well call to reschedule otherwise you will not be seen.
