I started my Laser Hair Removal right before the covid-season. I purchased a Groupon for 9 sessions on an extra-small spot for only $56. As many have mentioned, getting a hold of the admin staff is difficult. When covid first broke out, they didn't call their patients to inform them their offices were suspending services. I came to the door for my appointment late March, no one in sight. When they reopened just weeks ago, they didn't make a peep. I had to contact THEM and to my surprise, someone answered and was able to schedule me fairly quickly. The clinic's appearance is nothing spectacular or chic, the decor is outdated, but you pay for what you get. On the upside, their Groupon offers are honestly, one of the best deals provided. I will honestly never come here again. I purchased a 6 laser treatment service package from Groupon for a Brazilian and then purchased an additional 6 treatment package at full price for a happy trail, and will not be back to use my last 3 treatments. Not only does the laser hurt so badly I want to cry every time, but they are impossible to schedule with. In order for laser hair removal to be effective, you have to have a treatment completed every 6 weeks or the hair grows back to normal. But apparently Amore only has one appointment available for you every 6-7 weeks. If you try to reschedule your appointment with Amore, even a week in advance, they do not have availability until 7 weeks out. This would render their services completely useless. Every single time I had an appointment scheduled, I have had to try to reschedule each appointment over a week in advance, because I travel across the country for a living. Meetings come up sometimes rather suddenly which is why I have to leave and try to reschedule my appointments, but I always called well Amore well in advance of my departure. Every time I called, they rudely and frankly told me they had no availability for 7 weeks out. This last time I had to beg and argue with the receptionist to squeeze me in, even though the treatment itself doesn't last longer than 5 minutes. They must not have enough staff for their salon? Or they don't care about customer service? I'm not sure what the issue is, but this is not the salon to go to if you have a busy schedule. The lesson here is probably to never buy laser hair removal services from Groupon, but it is also to never go to this salon if you want effective laser hair removal and considerate customer service. I politely asked if I could be reimbursed after the second issue due to having a hectic schedule, and was denied. I have been going here for over a year. I bought a Groupon for six treatments of my legs and nine treatments of my under arms. After about four treatments I thought my hair was almost completely gone then it pretty much all came back. Now this might be due to hormonal changes but I am still not happy with this company. When I buy six packages I expect for most of my hair to be gone by then or at least a couple more treatments after. But my hair has really not improved from when I originally started going there. If I want to buy a package for my legs it's $50 for a single package or I have to go all the way up to six there is no in between and they won't make you a deal. On top of this if you schedule a week before or even two weeks before your seven week mark they won't have any availability and they will push your appointment a month out past your date that you were supposed to be scheduled. They might not have enough staff but this is not acceptable. They did say laser hair removal treatments on average take about 12 to 16 appointments to get rid of most of the hair. From what I've seen heard and read it should not take this long. That means you would be going here for almost 2 years before you finally get the results you're looking for. After a year and a half I am officially done with Amore laser. Now I don't normally leave negative reviews but I feel this was necessary. I really hope they can improve so their future customers don't run into this problem. read more

I have had good results with my laser hair removal, but the lady who did my microneedling really messed up my face. She spent more time focused on the right side of my face than left, and avoided some of the deep wrinkles I asked her to get. She even made some worse! I'll explain: I was suspicious during the procedure because 1. she only did a single stroke over the left side areas (unlike the several she spent on the right) and 2. I didnt feel the needles come out of the pen like I did on the right. This morning my suspicions were confirmed with the results of how my face felt and looked. She didnt go over my laugh line on the left, but got close to it so now it looks more pronounced. The right looks great. Same with under my eyes, the right looks nice while the left looks untouched. And if you think it's the way I slept, no. I slept on my back and I felt this way before and after bed. Even now (the next day) it is my right side that is still stinging from the procedure. (Btw, she forgot I requested numbing cream. Then talked me out of it before the procedure when I asked. She said not using it would help her know how the procedure was going because sometimes people turned color due to the numbing cream and that made it difficult to see how the needling caused the skin to react.) She said micro needling would further harm the dark spots between my upper lip and below my nose (melasma) so she avoided this area altogether. After some google research I found out she should have done this area because several studies show micro needling is actually one of the only treatments that helps with this. (One study example: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4689089/). I also paid extra for her to get my neck. I have fold lines and after the procedure I looked in the mirror and sure enough, she hadn't even hit the base wrinkle of the neck. She did let me come back to finish up, but still didn't get them very well. She got next to the lines and that only emphasized the line more since the surrounding skin got poofy and just made the crease deeper!! Furthermore she spent SO much time on my right jawbone and under my chin. I don't know if she was trying to grow me a double chin or what, but I saw no need for that. I had a really nice natural jawline, and now it's messed up because of this. Seriously, A good 2/3 of my session was focused on the underside of my chin and right cheek. I woke up and I look like I have a double chin and my right jawline is puffy. Never had either of these issues before. I have been complimented on the symmetry of my face my entire life and now I'm freaking out a bit that this lady has RUINED that. I've spent this morning in tears. I only got this treatment because other ladies close to me were doing so before a wedding. I'll be in the pictures too and I just didn't want to be left out with dullish looking skin. I figured I didn't need much done so I opted for a Groupon; now I wish I had never bought it. I was only prepared for the facial not to work, not how horribly it could ruin the symmetry of my face and pronounce the wrinkles! I love a good deal and believe in businesses that are good and just need a marketing push using Groupon. I'm currently doing a 6 session treatment for my underarms and it's been great! My technician is Svetlana and she always greets me with a smile and is super fast and efficient. The first treatment was pretty painful but the last few were not as bad. I was also just informed they do "touch ups" in case there are any stubborn hairs in an area that's been previously treated after your package is completed. They can get pretty booked up so planning ahead at least a month would be advisable. read more

I have been very happy with my experience at Amoré Laser and I think the first thing to take into consideration when doing a round of laser hair removal treatment sessions is that it takes a long time to see the results and there is action on your part to ensure you don't have too much sun exposure before or after. If you do, it won't work well and they won't treat the area because it can cause skin discoloration. To me that's a good thing to have the technicians and staff looking out for your best interest! I have had moderate to good results, which I know varies from person to person based on different factors. I have definitely seen improvement and they've been informative about what to expect along with making me feel very comfortable! I've had Svetlana for most of my sessions and she is absolutely wonderful. Before that I think that I had received sessions from Sarah. Hmm, I have mixed feelings about this place. I found a deal on Groupon and they were nice enough to accommodate me and make me feel welcome. They were willing to match deals on Groupon. I was under the assumption that the person that was assigned to treat me was the one that I will see for all my sessions but that was not true. I saw 3 different people. It is not easy getting comfortable with that many people. I also didn't like that they ask you to tip the workers. This is not a restaurant where people are working for $2/hour. This is a clinic and they should pay their people enough to not expect tips. That is just very unprofessional in my eyes. The last bone I have to pick is that the treatment I paid for didn't work at all. Maybe I had high expectations or maybe it was because I saw different people every time I went. I have read online that hair removal treatments are less effective on folks that have similar skin and hair color. I have dark soon and black hair so that may have played a role. Nine the less, I was led to believe that the treatment will work at least a little and reduce the hair growth. I have seen no change at all. I bought a Groupon for laser hair removal from Amore and had my first treatment on my bikini area almost six weeks ago. The office is clean, and comfortable, and the front desk staff is friendly and nice. After filling out paperwork to assess my skin type (burns easily vs. not so much, etc.) I decided to add a package to take care of my belly hair; I'm half Italian - the bottom half...so this was needed. The package was pretty affordable. The procedure was literally painless and I had no redness or swelling afterward; waxing is far more painful and uncomfortable. Mindy was my technician and she was quick but thorough. After the procedure I was a little skeptical about the whole thing, BUT within two days hair was falling out at a rapid pace. There is literally one hair left on my belly (I counted about 15 before the treatment), and the hair in my bikini area has been reduced by about 60-70%. This is after only one treatment! I am so happy and excited about the results. I have my next treatment in a week and I can't wait to go back. The only constructive criticism I have for Amore is that I wasn't told at the time of booking the appointment that I needed to shave within 24 hours of the appointment and that I could not be taking antibiotics at the time of the procedure. The shaving thing I found out just by googling what to do to prepare for laser hair removal, but I got lucky on the antibiotic thing because they asked if I was on antibiotics when they called to confirm/remind me of my appointment. I did have a respiratory infection and was supposed to begin taking meds the day they called, but opted to delay until after the removal. Priorities, people. Also, I've heard from some people who went to other places for hair removal that those places threw in removal of belly hair or light patches of hair on the upper leg that are extensions of the bikini area for free. But I'm still happy with my results, and the additional amount charged isn't going to break the bank. read more

I do not have to shave, or very very rarely, like once a month. The groupon was for 1 year or 6 sessions. Unfortunately, 6 sessions is not enough for most people. After I found a pretty fantastic deal on Groupon, I came into see Susan who immediately treated me how I wanted to be treated: as a woman and with respect. Susan was always exceptionally kind, clear about the prices and services, and wonderfully generous. She worked with me to create a custom price for the areas I needed and went above and beyond by locking in my price after my initial six sessions had run out. Svetlana was my technician. She was wonderful and had no problem being aggressive and methodical in removing my face hair, which is some of the most stubborn hair to get rid of. She was also always receptive to my feedback about problem areas and focused there as needed. Make no mistake, this is painful! Especially if you're getting a sensitive area done (upper lip = owwww). But they are also very fast; I never had a session take more than 5 minutes for my whole front face and neck, so the pain was short-lived. After nine sessions, my face shows practically no stubble when shaved and the few hairs that do come in are extremely thin and light. I was a little nervous because the last place that I had tried actually burned me with their laser, but she put me at ease and carefully explained the settings and the laser, etc. They recently moved out of the mall (with all the salons and spas) and into their own building... and its only a short distance away. They even added another laser. I find the staff to be very friendly and professional... they even squeeze me in last minute for a touch up appointment, which I really appreciated. Like most people, I found Amore Laser via Groupon. First for my husband (facial hair) and then for myself (lower legs). My husband had so-so results from his treatments. I think he did 10 sessions total before deciding not to spend any more money on them. His facial hair growth is significantly decreased, such that he doesn't have to shave as often, but it's not gone entirely. These things happen, but it's still a little disappointing to spend so much money and have mediocre results. I'm still in the middle of my treatments for leg hair (3 down, 3 to go). I saw great results even as early as the 2nd treatment. The hair that is still growing is very sparse and light and I'm now shaving my legs only once a week, if that. With this quick progress, I'd be very surprised if the hair wasn't completely gone after the 6 sessions. So, mixed results on the treatments themselves. They're pricey (even with Groupon), so that's real concern and the main reason I'm not giving 4 or 5 stars. As for atmosphere and customer service: The location is cute and clean, though parking is a pain. Bookkeeping is disorganized, as others have noted. I observed one lady come in for an appointment after getting an email confirmation of it, only for it to not be in the system. I haven't had any lost appointments, but I think I've only been called with a reminder about one out of the 3. I do feel like "just a number" here - the other laser place I've been too had receptionist and tech calling me by name before introducing myself, smiling and chatting like we were old friends. The facilities are always clean and Susan (owner) was always so sweet and helpful. Megan G was my technician and I loved her! The process is very painful, but she always did her best to be quick and efficient while still being gentle. And she just has an awesome attitude and smile. It does really require more than 6 sessions to complete the process properly and if i were not moving away, I would have bought 3 more sessions. Out of college, my first job was at a laser hair removal company. I worked there for 2 years and ironically, they have locations here in Texas. I did not go with them (American Laser Skincare formerly known as American Laser Centers) because I did not like the way the business was run (by a bunch of coke head owners which I later found out after I quit) and they treated their employees terrible. By deciding to FINALLY do laser hair removal treatments, I wanted to do a little bit of research. I found Amore Laser and then I actually found a Group On! I was super pumped. I had no problem making an appointment and they did not question the Group On at all. In fact, they were excited to hear that I learned about their company through Yelp AND Group On. I met with a consultant and we discussed everything about laser hair removal. The consultation was quick because after working for one for 2 years, I already knew all of the information there was to know. I just had my 3rd treatment done on my bikini line and I can already start to see results! I am kicking myself for not having this done earlier. I will be very honest though and say laser hair removal is NOT for the faint of heart. The first and second treatments were not that bad, but the 3rd one (they used the Yag laser which I do not recommend......) I wanted to punch someone in the face! It hurt like a *#&%*#&%#. So, I've always wanted laser hair removal and one day while perusing the groupon site I came across a great deal for Amore. I figured I'd give them a shot and see how effective the treatments were. They are a quaint little joint located right next to Shipley's Donuts on Anderson. The front office and waiting area is very small. Even so, I had a very pleasant experience. After filling out paperwork I was taken back by Lisa. She was very informative and really nice. Mindy later came and gave me my first treatment. The laser feels like a hot rubber band snap. Not too bad. I jumped every time. Not really due to pain, just more of a reaction. One down, five more to go. Due to my skin type/color, I may need even more. We shall see. Mindy was careful to explain my procedure and she showed me a very nice option for sunblock with a foundation base. And although I liked the sunblock I just couldn't afford $51 a bottle. So, I'll have to hunt around for something that is effective for protecting my skin. They were very kind and I had no troubles setting up my next appt.
