Literally hundreds of dollars spent there for over a decade, and I was blown off today. Because I had the audacity to try to call them, not once, but THREE different times, and they never answered the phone. Desperately trying to let them know that I was running 4 minutes late. Four. They refused to go beyond a five minute grace period. When this place changed to one location, off William Cannon, I was not the only one impacted. There were many of us who were loyal to the 47th St. location, but who kept coming down south, even though it's over a 40 minute drive, because we like the brand. It's this sort of customer loyalty that businesses should be grateful for! Instead? I got no phone call, no follow up email, no attempt to touch base with me to try to work this out, and come to a better understanding. Nothing. So thank you for using me for my money! Way to go. It's not about the money. It's not about not being allowed to be four minutes late. It's about being blown off, when local businesses tout building relationships" with clients. My going there for 12 years, was that not proving that I was loyal? Fuck You, Waxing Studio. Those of you who want to go there still, that's on you. Beware of being blown off, and treated like you are a cog in the machine, just like anybody else. It's that sort of corporate BS I was hoping to avoid in the first place. Period.

The waxing itself is great; I prefer hard wax and appreciate how efficient the appointments are. I've worked with several, more senior specialists over the years, and they've all been great, friendly aestheticians. I've also had great service booking by phone or online. That said, I'm pretty sure I just had my last appointment, and the reasons have nothing to do with the quality of the service (hence why I'm still giving 5 stars). The reasons are more about how the business is run: 1. High Turnover. It's not a good sign that these facilities run through aestheticians. If you find someone you like and trust, it's highly likely that person will leave within about 2 years. Find another person, same thing. Rinse and repeat. 2. Treatment of Women. For this to be a place that primarily serves women, I've continued to hear about European Wax Center's less-than-ideal arrangements for female staff. No maternity leave? No flexible work schedules for new moms? I'll take my business elsewhere for the time being, but I do hope the owners/managers of these locations will take this feedback to heart and make some improvements.

There's water in the waiting room and plenty of seating and reading material. Lucianne was super patient and provided a lot of information on the process. I really wanted to love the results of my visit at WaxxPot, especially since it was an appointment for services I desperately needed after going through the worst summer of my life. But that wasn't the case. This appointment took place on August 12, but all wax results were visible on the 16th during my time at EWC, and my eyelash treatments have almost completely disappeared. I showed up with an appointment to get my full legs, upper lip, and eyebrows waxed, and also took the plunge and got a lash lift & tint. The visit was pleasant, but I felt incredibly uncomfortable the entire time due to how the aesthetician did her work - and the results. To further qualify, I went to the European Wax Center later in the week to get other services done, and they agreed that my concerns were valid. My legs: sloppily waxed, and I walked out with clumps of hair growth still on my thighs and calves, along with leftover beads of wax. I had tried to point them out during the appointment but was dismissed, even though I was paying for a service that should have given me smooth legs. Eyebrows - I trusted her judgment when she said to wax, not pluck, even though I had scheduled a wax pluck. I've already had to clean the parts she had fixed. It felt like I'd wasted my money. Eyelash lift and tint- I'm most upset about this. My eyelashes were burning on my left inner eye during the treatment and even though I said something multiple times she barely removed whatever chemicals were burning my eyes. I did not touch or wet or do anything that may ruin my lashes for almost two days, way past the 24 hour mark - however, my tint came out the following week - on my birthday, no less. My eyelashes were only pulled "up", not curled - I was really disappointed when I saw the results but felt intimidated because this was my first time and I should trust the professional, right? Wrong. It has now been 3 weeks and my lash lift has almost completely disappeared, and even when I left the salon, having made appointments for returning services because I felt so uncomfortable saying no -- the receptionist was definitely bullshitting when I asked her if she saw a difference in my lashes. I wanted an empowering experience and would have said something on the day of, but had been dealing with/am dealing with some immense trauma so the services were meant to make me feel better -- but I left feeling worse about myself. This needs to be resolved asap. read more
