I've been coming here for a little over year and have never had any issues until yesterday. I always ask for just a clean up because I like my brows to be full. Unfortunately yesterday Allison waxed way too much from my eye brows - they are so thin compared to what I'm used to and I'm so unhappy about it. Just a warning for anyone who has full eye brows and wants to keep them full - I would recommend maybe trying someone else for this service. Also, when I brought it to the person at the front desk, they didn't apologize, they said, "yeah it happens" as if maybe this is a consistent thing? Not sure, but will probably try another waxxpot since I bought credits ahead of time : /. read more

I have never been to a salon that was so cold and sterile, but for my first visit here, I would rather give them another try when things are back to normal. The waiting area was comprised of two low steel benches that were very uncomfortable and the when I went into the room for my wax, there was no sheet just the vinyl bed. I do not know if the a/c was on low or if it was due to the fact that I was lying on vinyl but I was sweating more than normal and it was unpleasant. I also did not like that Tiffaney was not provided with a magnifying lamp. If you are going to run a salon that deals with hair removal, a lamp is a necessity to ensure even the finest of hairs are removed; it should not be up to the client to analyze every spot missed. Called and scheduled a wax and was told I had to fill out the consent form when I arrive. As I was handing the consent form back to her, she said that she'll have to reschedule me for a later time since we're a few mins into my time slot. I responded that I have somewhere to be and can't do it today and she said she'd have to charge me a last min cancellation fee. WHAT? Overall the receptionist's attitude was awful. Let me start by saying that I am an esthetician that works at a high volume wax center myself so I know a thing or two about a brazilian wax-that being said, Madison blew my mind! I left waxxpot and called three other people to say that was the best wax of my life. I routinely wax myself using hard wax but every few months I get a soft wax brazilian- Madison just changed that. I prebooked with her when I left and fully intend to keep coming back. The service was nearly painless, there was minimal (if any) irritation/redness and I was in and out fairly quickly. I love Waxxpot! I have gotten my eyebrows and lip done there a couple of times now and each time I leave satisfied and IN LOVE the work they do. So many times in the past have I been scarred by the experience, not listened to, or left with bad rashes and acne breakouts following my waxing. When I go in to Waxxpot, they are always clean and I feel like my opinions/thoughts are actually heard by someone that cares and wants to give me a great experience. I came here today after my lady convinced me to get my back waxed. I'm always getting mistaken for a Yeti. Hikers on the green belt are always throwing rocks at me and taking pictures while saying "quick, take a picture. It's BigFoot". After being attacked three times last week, enough was enough. They need to offer a nitrous oxide option. This was the most pain I've ever been in, and I paid someone to do this to me. Everyone was nice but here are the cons: I've gotten many Brazilians before and this was by far the most painful one, I even bled. There's also no sort of comforting "vibe" I felt like I was in a science lab or something. The bed is covered with a plastic like material which is uncomfortable & made me sweat. I got my full arms waxed a week ago, and I am someone that has been waxing my whole life. The overall place was nice and employees seemed like they knew what they were doing. I hadn't had soft wax in a long time and I assumed the discomfort during the appointment and the post-wax redness and mild swelling would go away. I was wrong, I may have permanent scarring and this is likely the worst it's ever been and I've been waxed at discount places. I don't even have sensitive skin, see the attached picture. I've had a few waxes at European Wax Center, but decided to try Waxxpot as they were running free waxes. I upgraded to the Brazilian for $14. First I'd like to speak on the good. The staff was so very kind. The spa was very clean and efficient. However, a lot of hair remained after paining through the wax. I was told it was because I hadn't gotten waxed in a while, but this was never an issue at European. Also, it's been ~30 hours and my skin is still extremely sensitive to the touch. They use a soft wax unlike European who uses a hard wax. Honestly not sure what the differences are, but can vouch: hard wax hurts less and the post-wax recovery is very quick. All in all, maybe less sensitive areas are fine. However, I'll stick with European Wax Center down there. Not worth it. read more

Never ever like writing poor reviews but I feel the need to on this one. My sessions that I had with Devon (brows, lip, bikini) were perfect! She's super conversational and caring, and knows what she's doing. The front desk ladies were nothing but kind to me. My issue lies with the other waxers though. Devon nailed it every time, but any time I had to go to someone else, it ended horribly. Not going to name names for the sake of preserving their privacy, but I have never felt so disappointed and not taken care of. One of the girls completely disregarded my health, and didn't use any cleaning or oils at all. Just plain wax. I have sensitive skin, and I was not ok with that. She also felt the need to educate me in not the kindest manner about what exactly a bikini wax was (I've been getting these since I was 12 for competitive swimming-I think I have some knowledge on the subject). Returning home, I saw she had also waxed a portion of my eyebrow off, and also did a horrible job on the bikini wax. There was leftover hair, which I then had to take care of. I tried to push past that one bad experience, but unfortunately, this one pushed me out that door completely. I had to rebook my appointment because Devon wasn't available, and I ended up with a lady who was highly recommended. She was very nice for the first portion, explaining what she was doing and asking how I wanted everything to be. But halfway through I felt my skin start to burn, and turns out my skin had been pulled. I stop taking my acne medication for 3-4 days prior to a wax, as my skin has pulled before, but this lady insisted that wasn't smart and I needed to wait a week. I can't go off my meds for a week, and my skin hadn't pulled anytime I did the 3-4 method. She asked if I wanted to continue the session, which I did as I just wanted to get it over with, but the manager deemed it unsafe to do so. I completely understand safety precautions, but I was incredibly upset. I was already in pain, got talked down to, and my session was basically cancelled. At the front desk, all they did was hand me some vacatracin, say they'd follow up (they haven't!) and see how I was doing/rebook the rest of my appointment. The girl had the nerve to see me crying and in pain and ask if I wanted to sign up for the package and/or tip my waxxer. I declined all of that. I really mean no ill will to the place or the workers, but that is not how you treat a client. I will not be returning, and hope they can improve. read more

This was my first and last time at WaxxPot. To start off with the appointment seemed rushed and toward the end the wax specialist confirmed she is running behind. She left the wax strips and stick which had wax on them on bed which got stuck to my pants. I had to bring it to her notice and then she applied some oil, which didn't help. I have wax on my car seat now. I had to stop mid-way and pick new pants from target to not ruin the car seat any further. Still it has black sticky stains right now. Also, after the service is done, do you not wipe down with a cloth or lotion. There were small spots where she didn't get the wax off. This has by far been my most disappointing waxing experience ever. read more

The space is nice and the staff is too but it's super hot in here. I felt uncomfortable bc I was hot and sweating and that obviously doesn't pair well with waxing. They also put you on a piece of plastic and I was just like sweating on top of it. Also, I feel that she didn't get all of the hair off completely and I've been waxing consistently so that was a bummer as well. Although I would not recommend this location it is not because of the staff, both Allie and Carmen were very friendly and helpful throughout my experience. To me, the issue with this location comes down to the quality of product they use and the set up. I booked a full leg wax and Brazilian with Allie last minute when my normal place was fully booked. Although the space they are in is very nice and well decorated the rooms were not ideal for waxing. The table was covered in plastic which was very sweaty and uncomfortable, the lighting was very soft and they did not have lamps in the room to help them see blonde leg hairs. As soon as I got in the room I asked what kind of wax they use for leg waxes and was told they only use soft wax for all their services. I raised concerns about this since I have very fine blonde leg hair that has not been removed well by soft wax in the past, typically hard wax is used on my legs. Allie started by covering my calves with a 'cleanser' that seemed to be pure oil, when she started applying the wax it seemed to almost slide off the oil and as she pulled it up there were big shiny oil patches on my skin where the wax was removed. I mentioned that I have never had oil put on before a wax before and that usually they put baby powder on me, I was told they do not keep baby powder at the location. The wax it self seemed to be very low quality and ineffectual. There was not one single strip that got all the hair off, it seemed to be breaking most of the hairs instead. Looking down my calves it looked like I had a few days worth of stubble in every area she waxed. The wax they were using was extremely sticky and appeared to be very hard to work with. Allie used three-five sticks for each application and never got a clean rip. A couple times it even looked like taffy as it was pulled up, every time there was wax left behind with the oil on my skin. After a few minutes of this I checked their website and confirmed it did not say they only use soft wax, on the website it lists a choice of soft and hard with hard being suggested for some areas. I brought this up to Allie who said they do have hard wax but not very much of it, so they only use it on noses. After about 30 minutes spent on the front of my calves there were still whole long patched of untouched hair and the areas that had been done still had many full length hairs as well as the breakage. Allie brought in Carmen who examined my legs and seemed to be having a hard time seeing the hairs until she came around to my view and I used my phone flashlight to help her see. At that point Carmen decided to use the hard wax, the hard wax they had in the room seemed to be very under heated, instead of the thick honey consistency it should have been it was more like a partially melted crayon. Carmen did two strips of hard wax which did work considerably better, but also seemed to be of low quality or severely impaired by the oil that had been applied earlier since it left a lot of residue and patches of blue. At this point Carmen left instructing Allie to use the hard wax on me, but instead I decided to leave. It had already been 40 minutes, only the front of my calves had been touched and with the quality of the products in question I was hesitant to have them be used in a brazillian situation. The post-treatment Allie used on me was not effective in removing all the wax and oil left behind, it took 20 minutes of scrubbing with apple cider vinegar at home to get it off fully. Allie and Carmen were very nice and apologetic at the end, if they had better products to work with I am confident they would have done an excellent job. read more
