Contrary to other reviews I did not have a positive experience here. I've been getting my lashes done for over 2 years now and only scheduled an appt at Lash-Me when I couldn't get an appt with my regular woman. Booking- online booking was easy and directions for the location were easy to find. Professionalism- At my Appt - the woman's hands smelled like cigarettes which is somewhat unprofessional when you know you have to touch a persons face for a living. Would have been helpful if she'd just worn gloves (she didn't during my session). When I paid out she looked up and asked if I would like to tip prior to completing my CC transaction. Their prices are already on the high end of a fill at $70. Lash Expertise- She seemed experienced and knowledgeable with regards to lash extensions and suggested voluminous lashes in a few places to make lashes appear more ample there. She also had colored lashes in her inventory, which I love and took advantage of. She suggested a few ombre lashes and I was very happy with the results. That being said. . . Post Appt Experience - While the lashes looked great at first, I noticed that they were aggressively falling out in the first week and a half . . and I now have 'holes' where lashes should be and they're going all different directions. I will be spending an additional $50 (after only 2 weeks) to get them fixed. :/ for reference i got my lashes done on 11.29 And it is now 12.11 I debated on writing this review, but felt the need to express my frustration after dealing with these crazy lashes day in and day out. This is an honest review - I got my lashes done by Michelle yesterday in hopes that her work lived up to her reviews online. I'm new to Austin and wanted to find someone I could trust to do a good job considering lash extensions are on the pricey end... I wish I could say that I'm satisfied but I'm not at all. I've had two previous eyelash technicians in the past whom I regularly went to and always did a phenomenal job. They're full set price points were 125 for volume lashes and I paid Michelle 150 for a set that looks quite honestly like a sub-par at home job done with one of those individual semi permanent lash sets you buy at CVS. I honestly wish I would have done that myself rather than paying 150 dollars for the same look. I am always willing to pay for good work and would have had no problem paying that if the results matched her rates. The lashes were not applied close enough to the root of my lashes (which are blonde) so you can literally see a gap of natural lash between my lid and lash extensions and it looks tacky! Not professional at all!! And since they are applied this way, they twist and flip and don't sit naturally. They are also falling out quite quickly - and yes, I haven't gotten them wet or picked them or slept on them.. they're falling out because of the way they were applied. Also, the room / office she works out of is not relaxing or professional feeling at all. It wreaked of strong perfume and it was quite cluttered. I felt dirty there. And I'm sorry, but if you charge 150 -200 dollars for a service... this includes a cleanly, relaxing and professional environment. Which is NOT what Michelle has as her set up. It's a tiny office in a professional business building downtown. The whole thing is weird and feels very out of place. I should have gone with my gut instinct and left when I saw her work space. I texted Michelle, kindly explaining my concerns asking if she could squeeze me in today to fix them and I haven't gotten a response in the four hours since then. So now, I'm writing this review as a very frustrated client. At this point I would rather remove them then go to a wedding with my lashes like this.. it's a shame. And only makes me realize how lucky I was to have such talented technicians in the past. Of course this could be one unfortunate instance, but first impressions are lasting impressions. I don't recommend and would not go again. I work hard for my money and it sucks when you pay for a service that is less than satisfactory. If I would have gotten a response from her, I would have loved to give her another chance and resolve this between the two of us. Perhaps I didn't explain well enough what I was looking for but I was just really surprised with what I ended up with and not in a good way. It seems like many of my lashes are without any extensions so the entire set was sparse and both eyes were uneven in the number of lashes on each side. It feels like as soon as they start falling out they will be gone quickly as there aren't many in the first place, which is nothing like my previous experiences having lashes. And let me add, I tried to call and Sam (her assistant? Idk who he is) answered and when I told him (very kindly) I'm not satisfied with my lashes he literally yelled "EXCUSE ME!? There is no one better in this town than Michelle." I said okay, I'm not trying to argue with you, I'm just telling you I paid 150 dollars + gratuity for something that I'm not happy with and I was wondering if she could fix them for me today. I'm not calling to complain, I'm just asking if there is anything she can do.. he was SO defensive and aggressive and told me he will have Michelle call me when she can... and that was it. So we will see if she calls, and I will update my review according to how this plays out. UPDATE : Michelle contacted me in a timely manner and addressed my concerns and offered to get me in and have my lashes fixed as well as pay for my parking. She also informed me that the number I texted was a landline so that was my mistake I suppose.. She made it clear than she cares about my satisfaction and wanted to make it right. Which I really appreciate and have added two stars to this review for. Unfortunately I can't get in and have them fixed before I leave for my trip and after my experience with Sam on the phone I felt really uncomfortable returning there. I hate confrontation. So I'd rather just not return and just be refunded in some way, which probably won't happen... ugh. This experience just bums me out. Complete disaster. I wish I could go back in time and get my money back. I almost cried when I got back to my car and looked in the mirror. I paid $100 to circle around downtown Austin trying to find a parking lot, spent 45 minutes smelling stale smoke on her, to look worse then I did when I walked in. I've been getting my lashes done for about 8 years. Sadly for me my previous lash expert has moved on to doing hair. I made an apt here after a recommendation from a woman I just met. I wish I'd read the reviews here first!!! Lesson learned.... the hard/expensive way. When I called to book the appointment, the gentleman on the phone was abrupt and defensive when I expressed that it wasn't that great to have to park in another building's parking lot. I wish I'd listened to him when he basically said not to go. My lashes are a disaster. They literally look worse than when I walked in. They aren't even even from one eye to the other. I will have to find a new person ASAP to correct this $100 disaster. It's that bad. She was friendly greeting me in the front waiting room. Once in her 'office,' more red flags as soon as we started talking. I asked her if the gentleman on the phone was her husband. She got SUPER defensive "WHY!?!" Goodness, just asking. My intention was to tell her that he was a bit abrupt/rude on the phone.... but never mind. (Should have walked out). She acted completely shocked, defensive and almost rude when I said I wanted my lashes to look like I have mascara on, kind of natural, but not too long. She spoke to me like I was stupid and like it didn't make any sense. (Should have walked out). I said, "well it's like a spectrum - no false lashes, natural looking/like you have mascara on, all the way to it being very obvious you have false lashes on. While some women look great in that and can pull it off, I cannot." She asked me, "do you want 30?" I paused, expecting her to say more. When I asked, she said "do you want 30, 40, 50?" When I asked again, she said, "do you want 30 on each eye?" I told her my previous lash woman never told me how many she put on. (Should have walked out). She then said she keeps quiet during sessions. OK, you don't want to talk, got it. Sheesh. (Should have walked out). When I say that she reeked of smoke - I'm NOT putting it lightly. As a previous smoker, I 100% get it! But it smelled to me as if she smokes in her house, a lot. I had to take a shower to get the smell off me. It was THAT strong of a smoke smell. I really don't like to leave negative reviews, but this was THAT bad. I obviously would have said something in the moment, face to face or call them rather then write this review here... but I've already experienced their defensive board line rudeness. I was SHOCKED to come on Yelp and see positive reviews. Shocked. Ya'll got lucky! I only wish I'd read all the reviews before I made the appointment. I think the business owner's response only reiterates my concerns, but let me clarify. The intention of my Yelp review is to give my opinion of my experience and synthesize the fine print of the website and the membership paperwork. I never stated that all of these policies were not somewhere in writing (although several of them weren't). I'm sorry if the business thinks it unfair that I have highlighted some of the more punitive and negative aspects, but I think it is important for potential customers to know. For most beauty services (hair appointments, nail appointments) people are NOT charged $50 for a missed appointment. If any customers on Yelp are like me, and they lead busy lives where occasionally something pops up 24 hours before an appointment (sick kids, house repairs, a meeting that ran late, got stuck in traffic, etc.) they can expect to pay $50 on top of the frustration they are already probably feeling. In addition, just to clarify, I was signed up for a $35 service. I had to pay $50 for not showing up. She actually PROFITED from me not showing up, because my cancellation fee was more than the actual service. And oh yeah, I also had to pay the $35 for the service I didn't receive, on TOP of the cancellation fee. So she gets $35 minus the cost of supplies if you actually show up to get the service, $85 for doing nothing if you're late or have to cancel within 24 hours. I know of no business that charges a cancellation fee that's MORE than it would have cost to actually go to the appointment. For my first visit I purchased a Groupon for a full set of BASIC lashes for $59 (originally $99) so I did not receive volume lashes the first time, unless they were given to me for free as an incentive to sign a contract. I did not, and would not, pay $200 for a set of lashes that reportedly last only three weeks. I stand by my statement that the lashes I received before signing the contract were not the same ones I ended up getting after I signed, and that I was under the impression that they were supposed to be the same. I still do not see the gratuity policy laid out anywhere on the website/email/paperwork, but I think that it is important for people to know that tip is expected and not included in the price, and that the tipping percentage is based off of non-membership pricing, even if you have signed up for membership pricing. It is just one more thing that makes the "membership" less of an attractive option. It is baffling to me that any business would rather grab a $50 late/no show fee than keep a repeat customer. I'm not a business guru, but I do know that one of the most difficult aspects of building a successful business is getting customers in the door, getting them to come back, and getting them to tell their friends and family. It's equally confusing to me that a business owner would rather post a long-winded argument on Yelp than do the "customer is always right" thing and refund part of the contract cancellation fee, or else just say something diplomatic like "We're sorry we didn't meet your expectations, we'll work on it." But sadly, this is consistent with my experience with Lash-Me. read more

I've been getting my lashes done for about 5 years consistently, without any break whatsoever. Out of those 5 years, Michelle has done my lashes for 3 of those years. I found her on Groupon of all places and have stayed ever since because she is so good at what she does. I came to Michelle with really thick and heavy lashes. I told her this is how I wanted them. I have been getting my lashes done with Michelle for over a year now and I cannot tell you how many compliments I receive all the time. I don't wear much make up and Michelle is able to take my short, blonde stubby lashes and create extensions that look natural and not overdone! The best complement I feel like I get is when people just tell me I have beautiful lashes--not extensions-- because they think they are real. They are shocked when I tell them they are extensions. This is also the best value for your money in Austin when it comes to lashes. With a membership price, you are paying a fraction of the cost of what boutique salons charge. I will say there are two things to note, but really do not detract from my experience/review at all: 1. She books up EARLY. You need to book your appointments months out. I guess that is what you get for being only one talented woman with many loyal clients. 2. There isn't any parking. There is a garage attached to the building, but they do not validate. Personally, I would rather drive around for 5 mins and pay the $1 for street parking, but that can be a bit of a hassle downtown-- just be aware if you aren't already downtown for work. read more

I started going to Michelle once my other lash stylist was rude/unprofessional with me. Michelle is the complete opposite. A) some of the reviews say she smells as if she smokes, I have never had that experience with her. She never once has smelled of smoke. She is always very professional. Michelle actually did a way better job than my other lash stylist. She takes her time and gives you a product you will like. If you don't like it she encourages you to be honest so she can give you a product you do like. That being said I have never not liked the lashes she has done. She even suggests switching it up and mixing different lashes to get a better product. I get the 3 D lash membership and she does not sit and count how many lashes she gives you, she just makes sure your lashes are full and look fabulous. She also is super sweet and good for conversation. The parking can be a pain but that's anywhere in downtown Austin. If you are organized and plan accordingly you can find street parking. I was late and she was very nice and accommodating. My lashes last a whole month, I was use to going twice a month. But, I was getting compliments about my lashes a month in when I needed a fill. 10/10 recommend. read more
