And never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that I would eventually agree to have hot wax laid onto my lady parts. Surely there are worse things than having hot wax put on your bootyhole, but I can't think of anything worse at the current moment. Really though, Kimberly and her associate Thais run a small business here without the frills of a salon, very reasonable prices, while still making you feel comfortable. I have seen both ladies and they are professional, highly skilled in what they do, and offer a wide range of services. If you've got hair somewhere, they will remove it one way or another! Pro tip: I use texting as a means to communicate with Kimberly (since its her business) and she has no staff. Don't be discouraged if you don't receive a return call or text immediately. Ok. I'm not reviewing any laser procedures that are done here. ONLY reviewing the brazilian waxing services. You know what I like to expect when I get a brazilian? Hair removal. I mean, that's a reasonable expectation to have when you ask someone to take the hair away from your snatch, right?---for all the hair, to actually be---taken away. So, at a bare minimum.....this is a service that should be rendered ... pretty, thoroughly, right? *sigh* If only. Now I came here on the recommendation of a friend, and as far as that friend knows....I had a fantastic experience here. Essentially, when she asked me how everything went---I lied to spare her feelings. Let's start with the technique. I'm not a fan. Here's how mine went: Smear (sorry for a lack of a better term) the wax on Then tug a little. Tug a little more. Tug a little more. HELL TO THE NO!!! I am telling you right now--if I hadn't been doing brazilians for the last 4 years, I probably would have given up at some point with this technique and left with a half stripped vajayjay. NO!! This drove me nuts. Maybe this means I'm not a fan of the particular type of wax...but I have to believe that those who choose to use this type of wax have a more solid technique than,,,smear, little tug, little tug, little tug. Here's the thing, I haven't TOUCHED myself with a razor since I was old enough to know better....so over the last couple of years of brazilianing---I've become pretty accustom to the "pain." And typically, it's NOT a painful experience for me. Sure, I have 1 particularly sensitive spot....but I get through it. :) The next thing is---and I'll spare you the EXACT details, but when I came home to find LOTS of little hairs still hanging out in several areas---I was appalled. I literally was just shocked. You don't shell out $50+ so that you get a half assed job done, you know? LIke I mentioned earlier, I've been getting brazilians done for 4 years. And in D-town, I found the MOST AMAZING technician EVER. She was quick, thorough, the clean up process that she assisted with involved calendula oil---and she was able to hold a really engaging conversation with you through the whole process so that A) You didn't feel so awkward about a stranger staring straight at your vagina and B) The process went by faster. I literally sent her an email the next day thanking her for being the complete badass that she is at rendering this particular service. Essentially, my hunt for a great brazilianer is still underway. And I'm sad to say....Angel Face II was not where I found it. *sigh* read more

Zap! There's goes the hair! Well, actually, it will take 5 more times but it felt like it was working. Not being a super hairy person (TMI?) I've not had laser done before. But I'm done with the indecision, the agony: Four blades or three? Aloe Strip or no aloe strip? Ladies cute pink or men's silver sleek razor? The marketing assault needs to stop. Anyhow, I found Angel Face II near my hood through a revshare deal. Made an appointment really easily and walked into a calm and pretty little place with a couple of rooms, complimentary water bottles and two very kind and reassuring women. We went through the steps (spot testing, various warnings) and then the cold, cold laser was placed on my flesh. From what I understand, this is a helluva lot better than the previous incarnation of this machine which was like hot rubber band snaps. My appt was at 2 and we were finished at 2:34 after making my next five appointments. I can't compare the laser tool to anything else and the efficacy is TBD since you have to do so many treatments but this is what I really like about this place: It's homey. It's small. It's a one woman show. We had a reasonable and intelligent conversation about life and work and body hair and I never once felt uncomfortable or out of my element. And when someone's zapping hair off your body, that's pretty impressive. read more

I couldn't possibly say enough about how amazing Kimberly is. I visited her after I complained about how expensive a Brazilian wax was, especially when it hurt and damaged my skin and started to grow back again almost immediately. My good friend recommended Kimberly and I'm so grateful that she did! I've had Brazilian waxes monthly for the past two years (at half the price of the place I used to go!). Kimberly uses a special kind of wax--hard wax--from Switzerland that actually inhibits future hair growth, so after visiting her for several months in a row I started to notice a change. I also have had facials and microdermabrasion with Kimberly, both with excellent results. My skin looks and feels incredible. Kimberly has products for sale if you're interested. They're decently priced, despite my initial sticker shock. $25 for daily facial cleanser? No way! But my first bottle lasted for about four or five months, so I pay it happily now. She has great sunscreen, too! I use it as a moisturizer, and I have never been happier with how smooth and moisturized and acne-free my skin is. Thank you so much, Kimberly! I have nothing to complain about my visit to Angel Face II. The business is a house that's functioning as commercial so don't over look it. I past it once assuming it was a house only so don't make that mistake like I did. The reason for coming here was to try out 5 sessions of microdermabrasion (w/ Crystals) to help my face out. I came out loving it already. Most of the sebums that were out of my control came out like nothing. Gross, I know. 4 more sessions and I can't wait for the next visit in 10-13 days. It was a relaxing experience overall. Highly recommend guys or girls that needs to have their face scrubbed hard :D It stings so if you're able to tolerate pain go for it. I am thrilled to find Kimberly! Encouraged by the Yelp reviews, relative proximity and reasonable price, I called for an appointment. I left a message mid-afternoon on a Thursday and was discouraged that I'd not heard back from her by the end of the day. She called back, however, mid-afternoon on Friday, and I was able to schedule a brow wax for the next day. When I arrived, I realized that I'd passed this place a thousand times without noticing it. It was pleasant and modest, so much so that I knocked before entering. Kimberly greeted me warmly and made me feel instantly at ease. I focused so much on getting my skin cleared up before my wedding, that I totally overlooked the importance of texture until literally the week before. This was my first microderm treatment, and it was so much more than I was expecting. While the actual microderm treatment was slightly uncomfortable, the rest of the treatment was absolutely relaxing and pampering, just like a facial. Angel Face is a relaxing spa environment, so it was a nice way to build a treat into my wedding week. Kimberly is super nice and knowledgeable. Cannot say enough good things about this place. I've been getting Brazilian waxes for about 5 years now and this is one of the best experiences I've had. I recently moved to Austin from Dallas and from what I've found there are not a lot of stripless/hard waxing places here. I went to European Wax Center (they give a discount for first time customers) and that was not a good experience. So after that I decided to give Angel Face II a try and it's worth every penny. The room I was in was so calming and Thais really knows her stuff. I've never had a more thorough wax. She really made sure to get every single hair (front and back) and even took some off my stomach which was awesome. I don't know what that one review is talking about that they aren't thorough here because I am smooth left, right, and center. For as long as I'm in Austin I will keep going to Angel Face II. Had a bit of an unsure start as I decided to try out a coupon deal for this place and I believe the business was a bit overwhelmed by the response at first, and as such at first I initially wasn't able to get in contact to schedule appointments. Kimberly did get back with me though as soon as she could, on a Sunday on her own time, to make sure I could get scheduled, and since then the communication has been great. I believe a reasonable consumer gives a business proprietor sufficient good faith to 'make things right', and she has done that and more. Besides, I like supporting independent business as well. I was interested in hair removal for my neck as I tend to get razor burn/bumps no matter what I do. Kimberly was great at explaining how the process works and answering my questions. I am light skinned with dark hair so of course YMMV according to your situation, but after 6 sessions I'd estimate about 95% of the hair is gone from the treated area, even higher than my expectations. (Note, Kimberly explained that actually the hair apparently is not "gone" but rather is made very fine, light, and wispy and grows much slower, but my position is since I can't even see it, and I don't get razor burn in the area anymore, it's the same as gone.) Love, love, love Kimberly!! This is the best place in Austin to get a bikini wax, hands down. Every person I refer here calls me as soon as they leave and thanks me profusely for the best experience. Yeah, that's how good she is, people are THANKING me after getting their lady-business hairs ripped out by the roots. She uses hard wax, so there are no muslin strips, and she is quick and to the point. Kimberley is a rock star. About a year before I went to see Kimberley, I encountered some very serious dry skin with an unexpected bout of adult onset. After a couple sessions with her we had my inflamed face under control and I had my healthy skin back. My skin looks great, and my eye brows are fabulous. Kimberly, the owner of Angel Face II, is a highly-skilled professional and on top of that, a smart, funny and genuinely nice person who provides excellent customer service. I've seen her for many years (7?), every 4-6 weeks for waxing--including today, and also had a laser series for underarm hair removal. I was feeling a little shy going into my first bikini waxing appointment--not that I'm normally shy or especially modest, but I'd never had such an intimate service before and thought I might feel uncomfortably self-conscious. What a relief it was to meet Kimberly, with whom I immediately felt totally at ease. I quickly progressed from bikini-line to Brazilian and underarm waxes and love the long-lasting, silky smoothness. Thais is amazing! It is so hard to find someone to do an eyebrow wax without taking away too much hair, and leaving your eyebrows looking unnatural. I love the way my eyebrows look after Thais waxes them - they are cleaned up perfectly/thoroughly, yet still look very natural - not too thin like many salons like to do. And the high-frequency wand she uses on my eyebrows after the wax is over is the greatest thing ever! Before Thais, every time I got an eyebrow wax, I was sure to breakout afterwards due to the irritation. The high-frequency wand eliminates bacteria, and I've never had a breakout after a wax with Thais because of it.
