I love being pampered - I work my tail off and rarely do things just for me. Avenue Five not only pampers you, they go above and beyond and all for a REALLY incredible price. I have very long, thick, wild hair. It's a pain in the rear to wash and dry. So, to treat myself, I come here. I get my hair washed and dried and leave an excellent tip and it is STILL cheaper than going to one of those blow dry spots AND the people here are so much nicer. I've never had a bad experience here EVER. Here's what I have had done: Eyebrow and eyelash tint - perfection! I feel so pretty! Lash lift - oh my goodness! It was so awesome and I felt so pretty! Blowdry - I try to do this at least every 4 or 5 weeks for myself and the South Campus never misses! I'm getting the scalp renewal next Tuesday and can't wait! NOW - here's the best part for me: I have a son who's super particular about people touching and braiding his hair. He's navigating life with several disabilities (Autism and ADHD, for example), and social interactions can be exhausting for him (masking is HARD, y'all - be kind to your friends and family with Autism, NVLD, and the like). That said, the way Santana has not only connected with him but also boosted his self-esteem is nothing short of amazing. The vibe and rapport they have is something that fills this mama's heart with so much love. Santana makes him feel comfortable, has fun with him, and, on top of that, does a SPECTACULAR job with his hair. My son looks incredible every time he walks out! She's got him on a regimen of scalp treatments and braids every two weeks, and the transformation has been incredible. He's so proud of his hair now, and I can't even begin to describe the difference in his confidence and how much better he cares for his hair and scalp. ALLLLL of this is why I love Avenue Five. They really do care about their guests. They really do want to have you walking out looking and feeling your best. They REALLY do care. So, go get yourself a blow dry or scalp treatment or facial or wax those brows, baby. If Santana is available, definitely sit in her chair. I had my haircut at the North location off Burnet Road this past week. I was greeted by a very friendly front desk person, Terry. She is always helpful and smiles at the customer. After checking in, I was then greeted by Shay, the student who had given me my haircut. Her instructor, Dawn, is a very patient and knowledgeable professional. She showed Shay how to cut my hair according to my requirements. Shay did a very good job. She is patient and tender to my needs. I keep coming back to this location and would highly recommend it to everyone. read more

don't go there if you want a hack job. I asked for 1 inch off and ended up with 4 inches off. On top of that, I asked for minimal layers and received HEAVY layers That started above my shoulders. I was trying to grow my hair out, and months of it went into the floor. When I straightened it when I got home, I had chunks of hair from sections missing. I had to go spend $100 to get it fixed, which involved me having to nearly get a bob. So much for trying to grow my hair out. Don't take shortcuts to save money and go to a real salon unless you want to spend extra money to look like a normal human being. When I tried to reach out in social media, my messages were reviewed and the ignored. No one reached out, nothing. read more

best student facial ever im an esthetician visiting from seattle and love to support student lead spas, so i was happy to find Avenue Five just down the road from my hotel! everyone was very friendly and professional when i walked in, Stephanie did my 60 min custom facial and was truly amazing. i have dry acneic skin and she chose the most perfect products and treatments for me including an oat exfoliant, extractions with ultrasonic, blue LED and gentle finishing products! i felt so spoiled and my skin was left glowing, smooth, and hydrated! she had a gentle touch with firm pressure when needed (especially during the shoulder, neck, and face massage) overall an amazing experience! will definitely come back and highly recommend if in the area. thank you Avenue Five and Stephanie for the hour of relaxation (cross posting because im so impressed lol) read more

Got my hair cut and deep conditioned here and with the May special, it all cost a total of only $14. My hair cut was really simple - just a trim, but it really made a huge difference. All the products used on my hair smelled soooo good and my hair looked better and healthier the next 5 days than it had over the whole rest of the year. The student who cut my hair was really nice and friendly, and the whole experience was faster than I expected (faster than at another hair academy; but still longer than at a regular hairdresser). I want to come back here for their massages and facials - they have excellent prices that can get even better when they have deals. I don't think they always have the facial and massage services though (depends on their classes), so you should call to ask about that. read more

They give some of the best facial treatments, the students are always so sweet, easy to book - I love that they have a south location now.

First of all, I love the convenience of this south campus off Ben White. The salon/school is bright, clean, and I was greeted with a smile. I was a bit nervous as this was my first chemical peel, but my esthetician student, Miranda, had a very calming demeanor and talked me through each step of the process with her instructor overseeing the entire time. This is my second visit to Avenue Five South and I had another amazing experience! This time around, I went for a shampoo, blow out and flat iron and Itzel did such a great job!
