Steve did a bunch of work for us around our home. He and his team replaced all the floors upstairs in our home, installing both hardwoods and tile, and he replaced the countertops and backsplash in our kitchen. Steve was excellent to work with. Steve was amazing to work with! We had to replace our flooring due to water damage. I had already purchased the tiles and had trouble finding a reputable company that would install it since the flooring wasn't purchased through them. My neighbor is in the construction industry and referred me to Steve. Steve came out right away and did a beautiful job! I had many many questions throughout the process and he was always polite and thorough with his responses. He also communicated with my insurance company when they had questions and he pointed out items missing in the claim that I should have been reimbursed for. Our salesman was great. The financing was great. The proposal was great...until the work began. The actual work schedule and order of installation was completely different than agreed upon, with no communication regarding the changes. Additionally, a large number of our boards were damaged during installation. While we were promised excellent and warrantied installation, what we got was not as promised. We had them replace a number of the boards, but after those boards looks worse, we decided to register a complaint with the manufacturer to get the lower quality than promised floors checked out, before Texas floors makes them even worse. It took 8-10 weeks after inspection for Hoboken Floors to deny the claim, with a form letter. We made a significant purchase and Are now considering small claims court. Texas Flooring has changed owners in the fairly recent past and thus I would count on my experience rather than that of the previous reviewer. A friend of mine shopped around and highly recommended Texas Flooring. I did a bit of shopping myself and found Texas Flooring to be competitive... some of the large Do-It-Yourself type places (your initials are HD, sir) advertise great prices and "specials" but they don't tell you that they aren't including labor costs, padding, and extra "haul off" fees for your existing flooring. Texas Flooring includes all of that in their price. I recently had new flooring installed and couldn't be happier. So give them a shot and ask for Chris Paul. He's one of the new owners and he's very knowledgeable and a straight shooter. He talked me out of potential "upgrades" because he said that I'd never notice a difference. read more

Go elsewhere for your flooring needs unless you want to be waiting around for over 2 hours without a call, leave a message with no reply, and be completely blown off. I had an appointment with the Chris that a previous reviewer liked. He never showed up and never bothered to call and aplogize even though I left messages for him. LOVE THIS COMPANY!!!! This company has done two jobs for us at our homes and we couldn't be more happier with the outcome and especially with the customer service! The first floor was a wood plank tile throughout the house and we loved it!! It over exceeded our expectations and helped us sell our house for much more! We also loved how the owner came out and was very professional and proficient with his quotes, as well as answering our questions. He also came and made several walk-throughs to ensure the job was going on as scheduled. The contractors were very professional and carried out each day from start to finish without disrupting the living environment. It was as if they were not even there doing our floors! We've worked with Texas Flooring three times now (hardwood, laminite, carpeting) and have been really satisfied. (I wanted to rate them a 4.5 but this review only offers either 4 or 5.) The owner (Chris) is extremely helpful and provides good value. He works within your budget and needs without trying to sell you more expensive options. And he's a straight shooter. At one point I had narrowed it down to two products - one more expensive. He candidly told me the less expensive product would suit our needs just fine, there was really no reason to pay more. The quote provided was competetive and all-inclusive. No surprises. The install guys have always been very professional, done quality work, very tidy, and been determined to place my furniture back exactly as I ask. (Plus, their memory for what goes where is amazing.) The only reason I don't rate Texas Flooring 5 stars is that they aren't quite as smooth on the office side. Websites and email aren't their strong point and I wish they had an assistant to manage the office. Important - they aren't non-responsive, it's just as a small business their strength is in what they do - flooring - and not so much running an office. This is a relatively small thing considering the value provided. I'd much rather work with a small, high-quality, owner-operated business than a big box store where it's all impersonal. I just replace my carpets with bamboo flooring. Chris negotiated price with me to suit my budget and beat two other estimates I got including from DIY stores. I used him before for the tile job right after Chris became an owner. He did do a good job then so naturally, I went back to him for this job. He gave me the best price for the job. He sent Byron and Lenny to install the floor. They were very hard working, polite and punctual. They left the job site clean and neat every night. His tools neatly put away in the garage. They helped to move furniture in and out of the room. They also helped to place felt tips at the bottom of the furniture to minimize scratching. My floor looks great. House looks bigger, cleaner and allergen free. read more

Not sure what happened to Joe C. but we used Texas Flooring last year and this had to be one of the greatest experiences. The new owners were terrific to deal with and you could,t have asked for a better installation crew. The pricing and salesmanship were outstanding and the installation crew was on time and schedule. I have been using Texas flooring co since 2009. Altogether 6 times now. Whether it was for my own residence or for the rental properties, the owner Steve is always very helpful and offers good sounding advice. His installers are very good at what they are doing. I used other flooring company before, personally I think Texas flooring co. Installers' skills are better. They always show up on time and finish the work as scheduled. Very professional. What impressed me the most is that after each job, Steve will come back to inspect the work. Sometimes after the project is done and I paid them in full. If I noticed anything and called Steve, he would always show up at my doorstep again to deal with my concerns. Nowadays, some business will just ignore you or find excuse or just to blame you if you have any concerns. But I find Steve's ethics towards his customers are very reassuring, Recently Steve helped me dealt with the broken glass backsplash. He managed to remove the broken pieces while the other company told me that they have to redo the whole back splash. Thanks again, Steve. read more

I just had 1300 sq.ft tile removed and hardwood installed. These guys worked their tails off getting everything done in a timely manner. These guys went above and beyond on attention to detail and cleanly ness . Also they were very helpful with moving items as if it were there's. I would use them and only them again. I worked with Chris on one of my investment properties in 2012. He gave me a great deal on high quality wood. I went with his guys for the installation even though they weren't the cheapest quote, because they seemed extremely professional. They did an excellent job and I don't have any complaints. After reading a very negative review I was concerned about using this company. They actually fit in the time line and after calling references who assured me they did a good job. I found out my worries were unfounded. We had hardwoods put in by Texas Flooring and I have nothing but good things to say. Steve was helpful, knowledgable and efficient. He made sure to have flooring we needed, as well as come out and check on the job being done. He answered any concerns, the installers were on time and very professional. We will use this company again. They actually finished ahead of schedule and took care of minor issues immediately. The price was better than other quotes and the fact they were professional and on time, made it a very good experience. I was really happy at first, but after the excitement of having new carpet wore off. I found nails sticking up that I only found out about because my son hurt his foot while walking barefoot upstairs. I did a check and actually found 4 nails sticking out! The carpet is already begining to fray. I was not given any materials on warranty although I was sold one. The installers didn't bring any clean up equipment (after removing pad and carpet) to clean up the dust and dirt under the pad. They had to use my vaccum and broom, I don't think they even planned on cleaining up. The plus side is that we have an upgraded pad at the same cost as a 6lb pad. read more

Chris is amazing and very accomodating (he picked up a sample at my work to help me out). His crew were a bit on the slow side though, hence the 4 stars--they were finishing up the trim while our moving guys were starting to unload everything, which was a bit stressful! If I had a do over I would not use Texas flooring. Gaps in wood, glue exposed everywhere, and you have to get your own 100# weights to put on the transition pieces overnight to glue down the pieces. Hired another company to fix their mistakes. $2500 for not the best job. Texas Flooring Co.took a week to call to see if everything was good, which it wasn't. Do yourself a favor an try another company, or roll your dice on this company. read more
