Drove home for the weekend from college and the Tesla camera and navigation stopped working about an hour out. I called the service department on Saturday and they told me to walk in on monday so I didn't schedule an appointment. Fast forward to Monday, walked in in the morning and they said they weren't taking any walk ins not sure who told us we could walk in. they were only taking walk-ins for safety issues. I guess a car that's advertised for having all these cameras for safety and the camera is not working - isn't a safety issue. A smart car who's computer screen is the whole navigation system that isn't working - isn't a safety issue. As someone who bought this car for all the safety features, it was pretty disappointing to hear that the navigation system not working and the camera is not working is not a safety issue. sure old cars didn't have cameras or a giant tablet screen for navigation, but those weren't advertised as safety features I had to make an appointment for the following Monday due to their availability and my availability and after a few days I got an estimated quote . It also said that I would not be getting a loaner vehicle and I would be welcome to wait or basically fuck off. my vehicle's estimated completion time was on Wednesday. I tried to contact the service center regarding getting a loaner and they told me it was based off of availability, so why can't we reserve in advance? read more

This is the world's worst service and selling center of Tesla I've ever been to. I had made a 4:30 PM appointment for trying out their demo and also just trying to see my options when it comes to purchasing a car. However, everyone of the staff seems like they are neglecting me and nobody decided to ask how they can help me despite the fact that I was clearly in need of help and looking like I was confused. They just continue to stare at me and then do whether they're doing. I felt so uncomfortable after standing there for 15 minutes, and after changing eye contact with all the staff there and saying that nobody was able to help me . It was so awkward, to a point where I ended up leaving after nobody greeted me or telling me that it's gonna be a minute. And the thing was I came in. I waved and all the people looked at me and then they turned away. All the staff in there were speaking Mandarin to each other and thinking that I didn't speak any for some reason meanwhile, I am actually very fluent in Mandarin. Overall experience was very disappointing. It made me feel very unwelcome, and it seemed like they were under staff for the amount of people that were in there. There shouldn't be available appointments if they can't even greet the people who had an appointment. Everything was very disorganized. They only have a Keurig cup no water dispenser for their waiting room. And there were nobody welcoming or greeting me or telling me the instruction as I have never been to a Tesla center. I was expecting some kind of greeting or some sort of welcome like Toyota Honda and other service centers. I will try to go to Tesla in Pasadena and report back but honestly, this was a very disappointing experience. I am disappointed in the lack of care and respect that Raymond and the female manager showed me on the afternoon of 12/14/25. I came in for a demo around 2pm and talked to Raymond who asked his manager to approve an overnight demo for me. Due to an event at the time, there were no cars available, and I was told to come back between 6:30-7pm to pick up an available car. 6:45pm comes around, and I arrive at Tesla to find the store empty. They closed the store and went home while I still had an appointment. I was explicitly told that the manager approved my overnight demo, and that an appointment would be scheduled for me in their system. I shifted the rest of my afternoon plans for this. What a waste of my time. Worse than the standard dealership. At least there I know my time will be wasted. I'd be furious if Jeff, the only one left on the property and who had just locked the entire dealership without possession of keys, hadn't been the only individual to help the situation and attempt to go above and beyond (by calling the people actually responsible for this mess) and seeing if there's anything he can do. Odd that when you schedule an appointment on the Tesla app, they give you several dates of availability. I'm assuming they do this to avoid being backed up. Yet when you show up to that scheduled time, there's a line out into the street! And you're sitting around for nearly an hour to see a technician! Why the hell do you give me a time to come in and then I still have to wait this long? By the way, the service lot here is so damn small that it's a wonder how they're able to squeeze anything into this location. I've been here twice already and I've had to drive around the block a couple of times because there's no space to park in the service entrance! On a side note, some Karen in a Model Y in front of me has this large, obnoxious sticker on her bumper that says "I bought this Tesla before I found out Elon was crazy!" So sell your car instead of bringing it in for service to make him even more rich, hypocrite! By the time it took you to find this stupid sticker on Etsy, you could've sold your Model Y on craigslist! Is it Tesla guilt, narcissim, or EDS (Elon Derangement Syndrome)? Who knows? Pick one or all. Further compounding this BS, I'm being charged $300-plus JUST for a test drive with a tech and a diagnosis (in this instance, it's an annoying squeaky noise coming out of the front wheel side). AND, I'll be charged on top of the assessment for any repairs to be made! Oh yeah, for whatever reason, they don't provide loaners any more or free ride share credits, a nice perk that Tesla owners used to have. I guess the richest man in our solar system is bleeding red from his Tesla money so he's cutting back! Lmfao. And let's talk about the waiting area. It's what it is, just an area to wait out this mess. It's the size of a bedroom with a few chairs and a couple of Keurigs that nobody bothers to refill or clean up occasionally. No visible outlets to charge your phone, or even magazines to peruse. This is really spartan and basic AF stuff that everyone should look forward to. Anyway, come on man. I paid premium for this car and I would to get some sort of a decent service experience. Guess not! BREAKING NEWS: So I finally got a tech to look at my car. Turned out the test drive wasn't needed as I just turned my wheel side to side and he quickly diagnosed it. I asked if they could just waive the 300-plus BS diagnosis fee, and the service rep did just that. But, to replace control arms and a few other connecting parts, the total damage came out to $1600 plus. FML! read more

In Praise of Tesla (Service!) A lot of people have problems with Elon Musk. And I'm one of them. But we bought our 3 series in 2018 before he went off his meds. Or too deeply into them. And it's been a great car. The only time we had it in the shop was to replace a front windshield hit by a rock on the highway. So two months ago, when my wife noticed a slight shudder when turning the wheel and we were told the suspension work would cost about $1200, we figured, well, after over 7 years that's pretty reasonable. We had the work done and the car was back and driving as smoothly as ever. Then, last Thursday, she was driving home on the 134 and heard a clunk as something fell off the car. The steering began to feel loose, but she was able to make it to the exit and drive the short distance home. The next day she pulled the car out of the garage so I could take a look underneath and a large bolt fell off in the driveway. We turned off the car immediately and went online (pretty much the only option in our wonderful internet age) to get the car in. We received an automated response that the next available appointment was in two weeks. Not great under normal circumstances, but a potential disaster now. Our son's wedding was scheduled for the following Saturday and we had a ton of family and friends who would be coming over. Plus, we had been handed a gift from the universe when a film crew that was going to be shooting down the street offered to pay us a chunk of unexpected cash to use our circular driveway and front lawn for catering of a five day film shoot. Well, that wasn't going to happen with a 4,000 pound paperweight sitting in the middle of the driveway. And with money flying out the door for this wedding (which we're thrilled to spend, she's a fantastic young woman!), we did not want to lose that catering money. But after 45 minutes on hold with the service center I realized I wasn't going to get to explain the situation to a human. So I drove to the jam-packed Alhambra Tesla service center and spied Nelson, the service manager at his desk. It was clear the guy (and the whole shop) was massively overworked, so I put on my most understanding face and gave him what I hoped was a dispassionate account of the work done in June and the developments of the last two days, pulling out the bolt in the kind of dramatic final gesture you might see in any episode of any version of Law & Order. He was everything you could hope for in a sympathetic service manager. He got our situation, told us that we could have the car towed in immediately and agreed the timing of the bolts falling off was, at the very least, suspicious. What followed that Friday night and into Saturday was a series of voicemails (from other reps, not Nelson) and automated texts from Tesla first telling us that the bolt (and the one that had fallen off on the freeway) had come from a different area of the suspension then the one worked on in June, and the work would cost $1300, updated eventually to $2400. First thing Monday morning I was on the phone to the service center and after an hour of listening to a loop of increasingly irritating AI generated muzak that was clearly intended to be upbeat but instead felt like the worst Grateful Dead cover band ever, I once again drove to Alhambra and was able to find poor, beleaguered Nelson at his desk. I apologized for stalking him but said I'd been on hold for over an hour and held up my phone (Exhibit B after Exhibit A, the bolt, if you're keeping score) so he could hear the concert still playing. I thought it was a pretty effective presentation, but I don't think I needed it. Nelson had already come to the conclusion that even though the bolts were not from the work done in June, the techs should have recognized that if one area of the suspension had worn out, the bolts in this section should also have been examined, which would have triggered a recommendation that they needed to be replaced as well. Particularly since there had been a recall for the same bolts on the 2019 3 Series because of the possibility of this kind of failure. And had my wife had a slightly longer drive to the freeway exit, the second bolt might very well have fallen off at 65 miles an hour. Which would have put a severe damper on my speech at the wedding dinner. He fought for and won a free repair and apologized for the incident and my multiple trips to Alhambra. It's clear to me from the empirical evidence of my experience that not only are the service workers at Tesla understaffed and overworked, but that the near impossibility of getting an actual human to answer the phone leads to further customer frustration that can only make the job of the people who work at Tesla ever harder. Under the daily pressure that Nelson (and every service manager) must face, he was patient, thoughtful, understanding, and willing to go to bat for a customer. So when I got my car for some reason it still had transparent tape stuck to parts of it. I drove to a dealership, a sales guy tried to help me, but advised me to schedule an appointment. Which I did. The mobile Tesla technician came to my house and got some of the tape off, which was great because it was covering the camera on my pillar so it was affecting full self driving. But, he couldn't get it all off, so he told me to schedule an appointment at the dealership to have it fixed. Well, even though a Tesla technician took pictures of the problem for Tesla and told them there was a problem, they refused to fix it! I got a nail in my Model Y Rear tire. My tire patch guy said he's unable to do it since it's close to the rim. My tire PSI was already at 17. On the Tesla App, next service appointment availability by my house stated in three days. Called Alhambra Tesla Service Center and they said they can take me in right away. Once at the service center, they went over the cost and time it would take. They offered me a Model Y loaner car for the couple hours while my tire was being replaced. That seriously made my experience 10/10. I was able to go home and have breakfast instead of waiting in the service center. My car was ready exactly at the time stated on the app. I am very happy with this smooth experience and friendly service of the staff. read more

I was given misinformation regarding a Tesla rental. Over the phone I was told I would receive a Tesla over the weekend. Once I arrived to the location I was told that wasn't an option over the weekend and that I could only have it for 30 min or until a specific time tomorrow. My options didn't work for the plans I made. I paid for an Uber to arrive to Tesla from Pasadena to Alhambra. I believe the fault leans on the worker who booked this over the phone however, the woman with blonde hair on Friday March 27 in the evening was not helpful nor did she seem apologetic. In a world of terms and conditions, The Tesla team is not honoring the agreements. My personal experience has been a nightmare. Since the first service appointment I was concerned with the quality of service and thoroughness. A complete disregard for failing parts and the only response is "we couldn't replicate the concern" yet the warranty indicates "for which there are no malfunctioning parts requiring replacement". All it takes to identify malfunctioning parts is a quick glance at the suspension components. Additional concerns relate to the poor service of the window components. I now feel air coming through and the windows rattle. The interior camera was replaced and now...the camera creaks and the window appears to be bulging out. I've noticed odd behavior when in autopilot. According to the team there are no errors. I interrupted auto pilot as it took me in a non-turning center lane with a post. Thankfully I was able to avoid crashing. In the order agreement it states the remaining new vehicle warranty carries over and yet after reporting panel alignment concerns and cracks on the rear trunk, Tesla is denying me access to a warranty that was agreed upon. My car has felt unsafe since I purchased it. The Tesla team has made it clear they are not acting on good faith nor are they holding up their end of the agreement. This is not right. This is a complete disregard for customer safety. This is false advertisement. This feels illegal. read more

Getting work done with Tesla in the past has been pretty grim, but I recently had the good fortune of having Danny at Alhamabra assigned as my service advisor. He is the best! I had a passenger restraint error code that needed to be corrected in the shop, as well as some random cosmetic items that has failed over time. Danny helped me figure out what I needed done, revealed that most of it was covered under warranty which I would not have known, and got all the parts ordered and set up the appointment for me. He was so competent and responsive and even made sure I had a loaner during the 24 hr repair time, (HUGE since I have a toddler.) Danny Roca is a shining beacon of light in an otherwise hellish landscape and should be promoted. 10/10! read more

I have had several bad experiences with Tesla, but the worst has been with this service department. I've only had my car for two months, and I've already encountered multiple issues: 1. A dent upon delivery, which had to be resolved. 2. A crashed computer that required a full computer replacement. Which took 3 weeks and my car computer was not operational when waiting during the 3 weeks time. I paid for FSD and not able to use and did not get compensated. 3. My car was not at the offsite pickup location when I arrived, despite receiving a text hours earlier stating it was ready for pickup. I had to drive back to the service department and my car was still parked at their location. Why sent me a text stating it's ready when is not. 4. My user profile was removed and could not be added back. 5. Lastly, my car mat on the passenger side went missing--either stolen or taken out during service and not returned. I don't know if anyone else has gone through something similar, but this is my first time dealing with Tesla, and it has been a highly frustrating experience. I've never faced these kinds of issues or poor service with any other car brand. If you're considering Tesla or this service location, I recommend avoiding them. If you're dropping your car off for service, take everything with you--including your car mats--which is absolutely ridiculous. I've never had to worry about something like this at any other vehicle service center. And as you may know, Tesla car mats are not cheap. read more

One morning I noticed that my car was making some weird and loud noises. I wasn't too concerned when I was driving to work, but when I was leaving work, it sounded like the noises were even louder. I drove around the parking lot at work, trying to either record the sounds or tried to let my husband hear the sounds while we were on the phone. I did not feel comfortable driving home, which was almost a 20 mile commute. So I called the closest Tesla center, which happens to be in Alhambra. Fortunately they closed at 7 so I had enough time to get over there. Once I was there, we met with Luis, who was the manager on site that evening. (Hubby met me at the Tesla center). He explained that it could be the control arms that were causing the noises but they need to run full diagnostics. The hourly rate was almost $200! The signs were posted everywhere. I was really worried about the cost of the repairs as our car was already out of warranty and this wasn't something that was going to be covered by insurance. Luis said it could come out to roughly $900-$1000. I was ready to cry! Luis asked if I needed a loaner and I asked if it was free (of course I asked, I'm Asian!). He said it's not free because our car was out of warranty, so I said I'll just take an uber to work instead, trying to save some money. He felt bad for me so he let me take a loaner at no charge. After we got all the paperwork squared away, Luis handed me the loaner and assured me that he'll do his best to take care of me and he heard all my concerns. While we were just down the street grocery shopping, Husband got the call from Tesla. After a few minutes, he got off the phone and said Tesla called and said it was the control arms causing the noise - and our estimate for repairs came out to about $400 including the diagnostics, parts & labor. WHEW, what a relief! Come the morning that the car was ready for pick up (a day later), our grand total came out to $208. HALLELUJAH! The drop off was easy, they provided drop off/pick up instructions via the Tesla app. We were able to drop off the car and pick up our own car without hassle. I am grateful for Luis and his 5 star service. We were not prepared to spend nearly $1000 on car repairs, especially since the car was JUST paid off in July (car is barely 5 years old) - and I have student loans and not to mention we just had to get our bedroom repaired after the heavy rainy season that damaged our roof/ceiling/bedroom back in January. Theres still a small gap left but i think i can live with it. I brought my car to Buena Park Tesla to fix my charging cable but they didn't fix it last week so I brought it here. I explained my problem with the cable and how it's not connecting and communicating to my car. The service tech was helpful and got me a loaner. Everything was done by the end of the day with a seamless loaner drop off and pickup. They replaced my charging port and charging cable and it was covered under warranty. Worst service center ever Dropped off Tesla for 2 issues, seat not reclining and door not closing Went to pick it up as it was marked "Resolved" for both issues. Issue 1 Seat: At pickup, my back-row seats were still not reclining. The technician tried to tell me that the seat will start reclining after 1k miles. What kind of joke is that? I asked him to actually try it. He tried it couldn't recline it and agreed to keep the car and re-open the ticket. How is it that no one actually tried it but marked it as resolved? (now remember that this part of "reopening" becomes important and annoying later) issue 2 Door: The "door" is not an issue according to them and will loosen up with time yadidada etc.. Well guess what? While they kept my car overnight They left it in the auxiliary parking lot and that door that I reported to fix DIDNT FREAKING CLOSE!! Oh well maybe the door isn't working as "specification" could it be??? I had to call them 3 times and of course no one picked up and was re-routed to the Vannuys branch. I called a total of 13 times, still haven't talk to a single person from the Alhambra center this whole time and keep being rerouted to different center or customer service center. Now it's not those other employees fault but they just go with the Tesla script and read the "service messages" and keep telling me the same "oh your car is marked as ready" when it's NOT ready because guess what the tech never re-open the ticket like he was supposed to. They did however fix one on the passenger side that clearly needed attention. I dropped off my car at 8 am and it wasn't finished until about 6 pm. TLDR: Be prepared to be car-less for SEVERAL DAYS as this service center takes forever to complete service on your car. I am honestly surprised that this service center has several 5 star reviews. This is now my second time doing service at Tesla Alhambra and I am extremely unsatisfied with the service and false promises I've received both times. Problem #1: Made an appointment end of last year to come get my AC & heater checked and filters changed. My heater was making a weird noise once I turned it on. Brought my car in for maintenance, expecting it to be done same day, or next day, max (it's what they promised). They ended up keeping my car for 6 days. Wasn't as pressed or angry cause I understood that they were busy. But looking back, 6 days is A LONG TIME without a car. And of course, no loaners available. Problem #2: I have a big crack in my rear window so I scheduled an appointment to get it replaced on Saturday, July 15th. Several days before the appointment, I get a notification from Tesla in the app letting me know that my appointment is canceled due to the fact that their window glass technicians are not available on the weekends. Why did they have open availability and let me make an appointment for a Saturday then? Found it odd but it wasn't a big deal. I rescheduled my appointment to Friday, July 21st at 9:45am. I asked how long it would take to replace the window through the chat on the app. They said it'll be done same day by 7pm. Cool. Dropped off my car and then the in-person service technician said it likely wouldn't be done same day and would possibly be done next day at 10am. Got a message next day (which is today for me) and they said it won't be done till Monday, July 24th. I ended up going to Tesla today to pick up my car and cancel my appointment since I need my car this weekend. Love my Tesla but hate that this service center is backed up and continuously makes false promises on the completed service date of my car. It's okay if it takes a few days to fix, I just need to know ahead of time so I can make plans accordingly without my car. I only have this one car and Tesla didn't have any loaners available. Are we surprised by this??? I know the demand is high and there are a lot of cars that come in without appointments and need fixing, but they need to stop making false promises. Just be honest! I've been lied to twice now about the false date of completed service on my car and it's quite annoying. I used to have a CR-V and had to change my front windshield once because it cracked from a rock on the freeway. Made an appointment with a body shop through my insurance, brought my car in and it was done 2 hours later. My appointment wasn't canceled and I was promised my car back at a reasonable time. Wish it was this quick and easy with my Tesla. I just don't understand why changing a rear windshield takes so long, especially when an appointment has already been made. I don't get it. Y'all knew I was coming in! Honda ain't luxury but Tesla supposedly is?!?!? Doesn't feel like it. On another note, when I brought my car in yesterday, my service technician, Luis, was really nice and friendly. When I picked up my car today, he was not as nice and not even sincerely apologetic. Luckily, everyone else that worked there was nice and sincerely apologized when they found out about the situation. A lot of people that live in the 626 have Tesla's. I'm surprised that the Alhambra service center is this inefficient. Will have to take my Tesla to another maintenance center now. read more

Jennifer was so nice and very helpful! She is the best Service Agent I've had in the last 2 years getting services done at Tesla. Highly recommend this Service Center! For anyone who has had their Tesla serviced done know that bringing in your Tesla to a Service Center is not an easy task. You come in with one issue and come out with two or more issues lol. You cannot call a SC and make an appointment, you have to do everything in the app and wait a few weeks to get an appointment. I made an appointment on July 4 because the app let me and forgot that it was a Holiday lol. Anyway Tesla called me a few days later and told me that they moved my appointment to July 5 because of the Holiday. I've had other SC moved my appointment without telling me before so that's nice of them to give me a heads up. I brought my 3-month old Model X in for a clicking noise issue when making slow turns and the rattling noise when making phone calls over Bluetooth. Quick tip, message them the day of the appointment before bringing your car in to request a loaner. That way you know for sure if you can get a loaner that day or have them reserve one for you asap. Jennifer let me know that she secured a MX loaner for me before I even checked in. There are 2 lanes at this SC. Park in the left lane if you can but use the right lane if the left lane is full. Then check in at the front desk under the tent and they will guide you on where to go next. Another tip is that organize your belonging or put them away before coming in because you need to transfer all your stuff to a new loaner. I need my bags and tools for work so I took them out of my trunk and put them aside right after I dropped off my car. They usually move your car to a different lot down a few blocks and wait until your turn your fix it so definitely take all your belongings before they bring you a loaner. After checking in and describing the issues, Jennifer asked a technician to go on a drive with me to verify the clicking noise. He did and said that the noise was coming out off the front wheel on the passenger side. He didn't tell me what caused it tho. I then drove back to the SC, was told it would take 2 days because of they're backed up from the Holiday. No problem. I took the loaner and went to work. The next morning I got a message saying my car was being prepared. Then got another one a few hours later saying it would be done soon. I drove to the SC and verified all the issues were fixed. Returned the loaner and drove home happily. The whole process took exactly 24 hours. My issues aren't serious but I was so impressed at how quick and efficient they were. I took my MY with the same Bluetooth issue to another SC in Burbank in 2021 and took them 4 days and the issue wasn't fixed. read more
