"Just got the new 'Under New Management' flyers in the mailbox, and all I can say is I really hope this is the final change for this lot. We've watched this location cycle through leadership over and over--going from Ross Nissan, to the Martin Group, and now onto a third management team trying to salvage the place. This location has been crooked for a while, running shady tactics and burning through the community's trust until the previous groups completely imploded. The entire neighborhood knows the history here. Hopefully, this new ownership group actually cleans house, dumps the old staff, and finally figures out how to run an honest business instead of screwing it up like the last ones. Updated Review as of 09/15/25: For the past couple of years now, it's been John Kuo taking care of me and my baby BLU Nissan. He is always professional and takes care of me with quick service and honest consultations for what's needed for my vehicle. It's because of him, the main reason why I still drive all the way here to El Monte for my car needs instead of my local Nissan dealership in Alhambra. I will continue to happily patronize this location for as long as it's open with John as my service advisor! I met Kingsley Wong for the first time today for my oil change appointment. (I had originally scheduled under Steven Chen because he took care of me in the past.) However, Kingsley came out to greet my car and I. He was very quick, efficient and thorough. Answered all my questions and concerns with confident knowledge. I have been driving out to this dealership because it's located in my hometown and therefore gives me an excuse to visit my favorite senior citizens afterwards. The service was completed in less than an hour but there was a slight mishap though. I noticed it immediately upon entering my vehicle so I quickly went back to the service counter and notified Kingsley about the problem. He apologetically took care of it personally without any hesitation. I will continue to frequent this dealership for car maintenance because of their solid customer service thanks to employees like Kingsley Wong and Steven Chen! read more

Literally the worst dealership I have been too. They are literally the worst when it comes to returning a lease vehicle. I've been at this dealership 3 times in the last 5 days because none of these employees can figure out how to do a lease return. The sales employees set up appointments for "return lease" and can't even do anything the day of. The sales manager Andrew literally also the WORST. Tells me the business office won't be open to return Tuesday at 12pm, 05/26/26 which when I arrive to find out it's his DAY OFF. Literally the worst dealership with the worst employees. If it isn't for a vehicle sale they clearly don't care. Only employee who actually tried to help me was Rubi even when it wasn't in her department. Will never be returning here again. read more

I went in on May 19th to return our lease and was told the car needed an inspection, totally fine. Well i got the inspection done the same week and went the same day the inspection was done to finally return our lease and they said to come back the next day because they couldn't do it. I never step a foot into this dealership, to purchase or finance a vehicle, but some how a sales person named Angel fraudulently sign my name to a contract of a vehicle, I never knew that I would be purchasing, after destroying the original contract of another customer he forged my name as the owner of this vehicle. I brought in my car because it was pulling to the right. They performed $4,000 worth of Services and returned the car the next day. It is worse than when I brought it in! Now the car knocks and jerks when you hit 45 mph!! I replicated the issue with one of their mechanics, AND they had the nerve to tell me that's just the way it's going to be, because it's an ABS issue! My car didn't have that problem before I brought it for service and they've ruined it and are telling me they can't fix it???? Unwilling to put in writing what they're telling me verbally. I have had good experiences with El Monte Nissan in the past, but this is negligent and fraudulent. read more

This place is a joke. A few weeks ago I brought my car in for a synthetic oil change. I payed my 130 bucks the oil change. That same afternoon as I drove on the freeway I got a low oil pressure gauge reading. I pulled over on the nearest exit and popped the hood and checked my dipstick oil. Sure enough there was no oil in the car. They completely drained the oil but forgot to put oil in my car. This was a complete disaster. I had to buy 4 quarts of oil at the local AutoZone to fill it up. The quality of service is in the gutter at this location. Be aware of this location. This review is to let others know to avoid Darlene as the service rep. I recognized her from when she worked at Nissan of Duarte where I had a bad experience with her there as well. You can check other's experience with her on Nissan of Duarte's Yelp. She will try to upsell you on services you don't need and overcharge. Experience at Nissan of Duarte: This was a few years back and my first time at Nissan of Duarte because West Covina closed their location. Darlene greeted me and had a nice pleasant demeanor, but her attitude quickly changed when I declined additional services like cleaning my engine and putting in engine flush for $800. I came there only for an oil change not anything else. Seeing that she wasn't able to sell me on additional services she started to give me some attitude and not want to complete the paperwork for service. I did my best and ignored her annoyed attitude just to complete the service because I knew I was not gonna return to Nissan or Duarte afterwards. Experience at El Monte: I came in the day before for an oil change, but was told that their internet was down and cannot check their system/take card payments. So I came back the next day, went to the service desk and recognized it was Darlene. Knowing how my experience was with her at Duarte I was very cautious. She goes thru her system and says "you have to come in tomorrow, we don't have time to do your service". I asked her how long the wait was she said 3 hours and I said I was fine because I have work that I can do while waiting. She then says let's go do a walk around of the car. It was very brief and she tried to sell me on a new transmission. I said I only want the oil change and she quoted me $109 which was weird because when I came in the day before I was quoted $75 by a different service advisor. I said I'd wait to talk to the other advisor and he was a lot more pleasant. Peter was extremely nice and helpful. I got my car serviced within less than 1.5 hours the same day that Darlene told me to come back the next day or wait 3 hours. Overall, just be very cautious of Darlene if you are getting your car serviced because she'll tell you different things and have horrible attitude. read more

My review is based on my experience with today's service. Several customers have said and they are 100% right, avoid Darlene at all costs. She was rude and had an attitude the whole time she helped me. I made an appointment for a 7am oil change. I do have the Nissan package which means I do not pay for regular oil changes so I am not sure if they just treat you like crap because they are not making any money off of you or what the deal is. I waited 3 1/2 hours for them to give me keys back. I went and asked if my car was ready because I could see it sitting in the are where the vehicles that are completed are parked and was told that although the technician may be finished with it, I would still have to wait for my service advisor to close it out. I nicely told the Asian gentleman that I understand but it has been sitting in the completed area for about an hour. He rudely told me well its busy and there are only 2 of us working. This was about 945am. I waited until 10:10 am and waited while Darlene helped yet another customer who had just arrived and when she finished, she still did not look up or acknowledge me. I politely explained that my vehicle was completed and if it would be much longer since my appointment was the 1st one at 7am. She rudely said I understand but its Saturday and only 2 of us are working. She proceeded to ask my last name and could not even find my paperwork. She stated your paperwork is lost but its done, here are your keys. No apology, no attempt to locate where my paperwork other than search the desk, nothing but rudeness. So, if I had not gone to ask would I be there until they closed and realized I was still waiting? This was the worse experience I have ever had at that Nissan or any other Nissan service department. I will never return there and would strongly advise that if you go and get Darlene...do yourself a huge favor and request another advisor immediately, unless you want to get rudeness and spend your entire day there because she lost your paperwork. read more

Took my car for a free battery replacement on 12/17/22. As I called prior to showing up because I wanted to make sure the battery replacement was still covered under warranty. I was under the 36K miles/3yrs warranty so it should have been an easy transaction without any hassle. I waited for about 3 hrs just for them to refuse to provide me with a new battery. After hours of waiting, according to the service tech my battery was severely discharged but it was still a good battery. So they charged the batter for about 30 mins. Gave me the 2nd printout of the battery not the first one-so obviously it's going to say battery ok. Well it's almost a month and the battery is once again dead. You can't make this up- Save yourself some time and go elsewhere. read more

AVOID EL MONTE NISSAN SERVICE DEPARTMENT. Save yourself the frustration and head over to Nissan of Alhambra I don't enjoy leaving NEGATIVE reviews but hopefully this help someone out. My 2023 Nissan Ariya, purchased new in March, started having issues with the auto trunk lift gate. It opens less than 1/3 then stops. I asked if they could also check if my tires needed rotating since my mileage was around 4,500 and I will be taking a 2,000+ mi roadtrip in a few weeks. And I also asked them to check my windshield wiper fluid because nothing ever came out when I engage it, maybe it never got filled when I first purchased the car. Picture 1: El Monte Nissan service report. First, they misdiagnosed the issue and ordered the wrong part. Also told me i didn't need to rotate my tires. And refused to fill my windshield wiper fluid. Said it would cost $15 to fill. When I pressed further he continued to refuse, even though my car may not have had the fluid filled when it was brand new off the lot and also all Nissan new EVs come with carefree plus program benefits for 3 years. He continues to refuse to fill the fluid! The advisor only tells me this verbally, but as you can see on the paper, none of it is written down. Picture 2: Nissan of Alhambra Service Summary Alhambra Nissan diagnosed my trunk lift gate problem and determined that it was the right motor that needed replacement not shock, they rotated my tires, checked windshield wiper fluid and topped it off without hassle, they reset all my tire pressures to factory specs, and even gave my car a complimentary wash! The advisor was knowledgeable and answered all my questions. I'm so glad I have other options!!! Even though El Monte is closer, they need to make some serious changes before I would go there again. After talking to many salespeople and visiting a few dealerships, Henry was friendly, knowledgeable, and human: Yes, so refreshing to talk to someone who's real, not all sales driven, pushy, etc. No games, and I was in and out in about 3 hours, which is WAY less than any past car-buying experience. I'm SO happy with my purchase and elated that I found this dealership with its large inventory. It was worth traveling the extra miles to be taken care of so well. BUT I'm a little disappointed in a few post-sale things like no return calls about questions (a small paint repair, safety feature, and the fact that my lender changed) but I'll just have to get things sorted out on my own. Salespeople have to realize that your clients today will be the ones either returning or not returning in the future, so putting in a little time to follow up and follow through is something your future self may thank you for doing.
